Sliding doors won't lock the sliding door will just pop open again. have child lock engaged and door locked from inside. i have found about 40 cars with this problem in just columbus ohio alone that are 2007. the cost to repair is 500$ which is failing most of the youtube videos are showing.

The sliding door struggled to close in a parking lot, continually stopping mid slide and opening up again. after trying to close it a few times, the wheel on the top of the door fell off the track, leaving the door hanging only by the guide wire in the middle of the door. the paint on the side of the vehicle was scratched badly and the vehicle required a tow and a trip to the mechanic. the door fell off again only a week later.

My vehicle was parked and was in a parking lot in lake city. i was out shopping with my family and i pressed button to ipen passenger sliding door and the door came off the railing hanging by a cable. i had a small child with me and that is dangerous. i just bought this vehicle so i have not had it long. regardless of the miles on the vehicle this is unsafe.

The driver's side rear sliding door fell off. very scary and caused damage. 81 year old mother-in-law sat next to it holding it for the trip home. horrible we were in a grocery store parking lot . when we opened it it just fell.

The drivers side rear sliding door fell off. we are lucky no one got hurt. my 81 year old mother-in-law had to sit in back and hold it to let me know if it started slipping. we were in a grocery store parking lot and when it was opened it just fell. a small amount of damage to the vehicle but thank god that is all the damage that day.

Sliding side door rear latch will not stay latched using automatic closing mechanism or manually closing the door while standing still. warning light and buzzer indicate unlatched door. sometimes happens during driving. i have not yet had it to the dealer.

On july 15, 2017 we were loading the van for vacation and the passenger sliding door fell off, landing on my 14 year daughters leg/foot. on august 28, 2017 my son went to unlock the van and pressed the sliding door opener by accident, the passenger door again fell off. the door fell off on top of my 8 year old son. the kids were therefore late for their first day of school. when the door fell off, it bent the track and scratched the whole passenger back side of my van. while my daughter and i tried putting the door back on the door slipped out of the track again and damaged the front passenger door, denting the bottom of the front passenger door. that afternoon i went to the honda dealer in grandville michigan and talked to randy howes. he refused to listen to me and directed me to look in the manual and contact honda. so i called the 1-800 number in my manual. i retold what had happened and was told this was a serious incident and that i would hear back with in 2 days. after a week a began calling again, i finally received a call back from rio wardana from honda. i retold him again what had happened and told him i wanted the door fixed and the damaged fixed that the door caused. he was very disrespectful and told me he had never heard of any door falling off a honda van. i informed him of the 100s of complaints on line but he refused to listen. i was told the door falling off was my fault and not hondas. i asked him what to do because the other door was acting funny as well. he said to use the hatch back door for entering if i needed to and he hung up on me. i have been battling honda ever since and can get no where. my door is not dangerous. i cannot have my children near it with the fear of it falling off again and i can find no one to help me with this case. please tell me what to do to hold honda accountable for their vehicle safety concern!!

The door is all the door broken

The sliding door on my odyssey fell off. it literally fell off right onto my body while i was pumping gas. not only did this cause physical harm to my person, but it resulted in substantial body damage to the vehicle panel.

The driver's side sliding door bumps and grinds when opening and closing. it will suddenly stop then reverse direction. it has almost shut on several people. i've delt with it for years but today i realized that water is leaking in the same door. i realized this when i went to put on my seat belt and it was frozen inside and wet. my rear driver's side belt was also wet. after realizing this i saw a wet stain along the whole top of the sliding door. so disappointed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey. the contact stated that while driving at 45 mph, the front passenger side door opened independently. the vehicle was taken to be repaired but the parts replaced were unknown. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 123,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey. while driving approximately 55 mph, the rear driver side sliding door operated independently. the dealer was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure due to lack of payment. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

My honda odyssey driver side sliding door had been shaking, making noises, and opening and closing mid way for a few weeks when the door finally popped out! we were returning from a family trip and after we pulled into our driveway around 1:30 am and parked, my husband used the sliding door to get our toddler out. as he reached in and picked her up, the door began to close and he pushed her back in. then there was a loud banging noise and the door popped out and was hanging by the hinges. we could not blieve what just happened. fearing that the door would fall off, we quickly took the kids in and my husband and son attempted to put the door back on as quickly and safely as we could with our phones flashlights for visibility. it took a while but they managed to lift and push it up where it was no longer hanging but wasn't closed all the way either. we covered the door and openings with trash bags to seal out the rain that was getting in. later that morning we went out to inspect the damage. the trash bags had blown off and the seats were wet, the door had scratched the exterior of the van deeply. the next business day which was monday the 4th, i called my honda service station and told them what happened he said he had heard about the problem but i needed to call honda corporate and see if they would pay for repairs. i called corporate and was told that due to he high mileage of my vehicle they would not pay. i told him that while researching why the door would just pop out, i found hundreds of complaints about the same issue and not all the vans had high mileage but honda refused to help them too it was unsafe when the door was shaking and closing as we would try to get in or out but now we cannot get out of that door in case of anemergency i believe honda has a serious safety issue with these doors and is refusing to acknowledge it.

My vehicle has a strong gassy smell when i start it up. both my passenger doors have fallen off the hinges while stationery and my check fuel cap light constantly flashes while in motion.

I was involved in a three car accident. i was the third car, we were leaving from a traffic light on highway maryland 301 that just turned green. according to the driver of the second car, driver of car one slammed on her brakes after taking off. i than ran into car number two. i sustained front end damage and my air bags did not deploy.

The automatic rear doors don't latch properly and can occasionally open during sharp turns.

2007 honda odyssey. consumer writes in regards to vehicle paint chipping damages. *smd the dealer informed the consumer the paint chipping was a known issue for her model and color vehicle. also, the consumer experienced a problem with the locking mechanism.

The passenger side sliding door will not close completely using powered closing mechanism. when the power mechanism is turned off on the dashboard and the door is closed manually by hand, it stays closed but only for a few seconds. then the back part of the door pops open. it does not matter how many times the back of the door is pushed closed (and the lock button hurriedly locked) the back of the door will pop open. when it is being driven down the road/highway the door open light is on, the door is not closed completely and road/highway noise is heard from the partially open door. on occasion, (when turning right, going downhill, going over certain bumps) the light will go off and the door will "close" but this is only temporary. as soon as the turn is finished, not going downhill, or go over another small bump, the door will pop open in the back and the light will turn back on. this is a safety issue, especially because children are transported in the vehicle!

Approximately 3 weeks ago, my wife went out to our driveway to start her day and suddenly the passenger door and liftgate on our low mileage 2007 honda odyssey minivan would not open. neither could be opened via remote or physical level (interior or exterior). at the same time, the right tail light stopped lighting. the dealership cannot explain the coincidence, which suggests some sort of electical issue which broke multiple actuators, but regardless it is a huge safety issue. right now occupants could very well be trapped in the vehicle in an emergency. the dealer has provided an estimate of $1000 to repair, and i believe they should address the issue at their expense as there are many, many reports of hondas suffering from these door and liftgate issues. please help make them accountable before someone is injured or killed. thanks

Open driver sliding door to place groceries and shut the door. there was a buzzing sound (which has sounded previously but goes away if the sliding door lock is put into place) as i attempted to drive. as i turned a corner, the door opened all the way while i was driving on a city street. i used the automatic door closer and it closed. less than 10 minutes later, still while driving on a street, the door opened fully again. i braked and put the car in park and attempted to use the automatic door closer, and it closed, but opened again right after i started the car and turned a corner. i stopped the car and got out and attempted to close the door manually, but it wouldn't close tightly. because i was only a block away from home, i drove home and parked in the garage. i attempted to close the door several times, but it wouldn't close completely shut. later, i went back into the garage, i opened the door and it shut tightly this time. now, i am afraid to use the door. i bought the minivan because i have children. *tr

The sliding door completely fell off. this was unprovoked. i opened it and it didn't open all the way. i then attempted to close it and it was stuck so i turned off the electric part. now that it was manual i attempted to close it and it fell off complete! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey. while parked, the power liftgate abruptly closed while in use. the contact was uninjured. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that both power liftgate struts needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the issue. the approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

The passenger side power sliding rear door began intermittently having issues closing-it would close about 75% of the way, then beep as it does if there is an object blocking it's path, then open back up. i would have to pull the door to help guide it closed. before i could get it to the honda dealer, the driver side power sliding rear door began doing something similar. it would close only about 90%, but i was unable to pull it fully closed. i flipped the switch to turn the doors from power operation to manual operation, thinking everything would be ok. i was able to get the driver side sliding door closed manually. however, when we arrived at our destination, i tried to open the passenger side sliding door (switch was still in the manual position), and was only able to open it about 8-10 inches. i could not get my 2 yr old daughter out of her car seat. i pushed with all of my strength, and it would not budge. i ran back around, flipped the switch back to auto, and was able to get the door open that way. however, this ordeal has shown me a severe safety flaw with the power sliding doors on the 2007 odyssey. if we had been in a situation where the vehicle was on fire--possibly from the now recalled fuel mechanism that can catch fire--i would not have been able to get them out. in an emergency, when every second counts, the door issue could literally have made the difference between life and death. my husband looked at the door that evening, and he, too, was unable to get the passenger side door to budge when set to manual operation. he had to lift the back of it and pull it open. also, he looked at the drivers side sliding door and noticed metal shavings on the door where metal had literally been grinding on metal. the roller mechanism is no longer working. i am taking it in to my local honda dealer. *tr

Hi, i own honda odyssey 2007 and i've notice the paint from the roof top toward the front side is peeling off slow and its getting bigger and bigger. this paint is not cause by any accident damage or anything but i believe its defected by the honda manufacture painting it self. i've checked online about this problem and a lot of owner of this type of car have the same problem. honda company should be responsible to repair this kind of defect at no cost to any honda owner's.

The paint has been peeling on the hood starting small and growing exponentially larger and expanding to the area on the roof between the windshield and sunroof. this defect has been noted in other cars similar to ours.

2007 honda odyssey. consumer writes in regards to vehicle paint peeling. *smd some time ago, the consumer noticed small bubbles over the entire vehicle, some of which had started to peel, which led to large portions of the paint peeling. the consumer learned honda used a low quality primer which resulted in poor adherence to the paint.

I opened my rear hatch door using the remote, it opened with the normal short beeps but closed very fast with a continues alarm . i opened the hatch manually and it slammed shut, won't stay open. *tr

Loss of power steering & difficulty turning steering wheel. paint on top of the roof has begun to fade. had to replace oil pan because of lug nut damage to pan. according to the mechanic damaged was caused to the oil pan due to the quality of metal within the lug nut that is of harsher material than the oil pan. therefore, it caused damage to the oil pan that required us to have an immediate oil pan replacement during a routine oil change. *tr

Returned to the car after shopping. opened the tailgate for loading groceries. tailgate closed without warning. fortunately, no one was under and no one was injured. afterward, tailgate would not stay open. struts failure was the reason. struts failure without warning is a big safety risk because the tailgate is very heavy, and could cause severe injuries if someone is under. *tr

Passenger sliding door automatically opened while vehicle was in motion, exposing my 5 year old to serious injury. this is the 3rd occurrence. baierl honda of wexford pa cannot identify any faults even though the vehicle has been taken to them on several occasions. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey. the contact stated that while attempting to stop the driver side power sliding door by positioning her body in the path of the door, the door continued to close entrapping the baby inside the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 80,000.

Liftgate struts failure. i just wanted to make you aware of the danger when a liftgate strut failed without any warning or indication of failure. my odyssey 2007 liftgate was working fine on saturday but then completely failed on sunday. it just drops from an open position. i'm glad that no one gets hurt. when i try to lift it again, the strut would not hold the tailgate open anymore. i reported to honda dealer and was told that there was no recall for 2007 model but there was a recall for 2008 and up. i will suggest that you also check the strut on models 2005 and up as it looks like there a lot of complain strut failure on these year model as well when you go to odyclub.com which is a forum for honda odyssey owners. i will replace mine and not wait for honda to take ownership on this failure but i am still reporting this in hope that no one will get hurt if honda continues to ignore this issue. liftgate struts failure can cause injury or even death especially to small adults and children. *tr

The lift gate strut on our 2007 honda odyssey ex-l suddenly failed and the gate fell by itself. it almost injured me while loading shopping bags into the trunk area. the rear gate is very heavy that it could actually result in a severe injury or fatality, when it suddenly fell on one's head. after some research online, i found that the same issue occurs to other honda odyssey owners. cite: http://www.odyclub.com/forums/52-2005-2010-odyssey/40133-tailgate-gas-strut-problems-9.html there's also a similar recall for 2008 and 2009 honda odyssey model regarding the lift gate strut. *js

In a routine virginia state safety inspection a honda dealer failed my wife's 2007 honda odyssey van (50902 miles) for two broken motor mounts (front and passenger side) and a burned out brake light. i did not and do not believe that such a new, low mileage vehicle should have developed broken motor mounts, especially since my wife drove the van gently since it was new. because the projected repair costs to replace the motor mounts, "cracked" compliance bushings and other unspecified bushings were expected to be several thousand dollars, i took the van to an independent auto repair shop for a second opinion. the independent shop did establish that the front motor mount was broken and that the other issues, however, were spurious. the independent shop agreed to repair the van for $368. i think that honda has in this case designed and produced faulty motor mounts (i think that each honda odyssey engine has 5 motor mounts). i also think that honda should issue a recall to replace the faulty motor mounts at no cost to the vehicle's owners and should reimburse owners (current and prior) for any related repair costs. since a faulty motor mount triggered a rejection in a virginia state safety inspection, this honda motor mount failure issue is clearly a safety issue. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda odyssey. the contact stated that the tailgate failed to stay open. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failed mileage was 87,000. updated 09/05/13*lj the struts that supported the hatch failed. they were replaced at the local dealer. updated 09/05/13

The paint on our honda odyssey is failing. honda offered a recall/warranty extension for this issue, but made no attempt to alert us about it until after the recall/warranty was expired. we specifically asked about any service bulletins or recalls before the recall/warranty expired and were told there were none. it wasn't until after the recall/warranty expired that were we told about it. honda is now telling us that they will not repair the failing paint because the recall/warrenty is expired. we have tried to work through the local dealer and honda's national customer service center to no avail. honda's business strategy around this particular recall/warranty appears to be to hide information from consumers until they are no longer required to respond to specific problems with their vehicles. please help us resolve this issue with american honda. thank you. *tr
