Problems with 2015 Honda CR-V ENGINE

On average, the 2015 Honda CR-V starts to “feel” problems with the ENGINE and its various aspects after 9 686 miles.

Recently reported ENGINE problems on 2015 Honda CR-V

I purchased a brand new 2015 honda cr-v the morning of february 28th, 2015.as soon as i drove it off the lot i noticed a vibration coming from the engine. everyday it gets worse and it is now happening every time i drive it. i called my service advisor and told him about it and that i wanted to bring it in. he said don't bother to bring it in. it would be a waste of time. told me that honda of america is aware of the problem and they are working on fixing it. i took the car in any way and was told the same thing. this is inexcusable. this vehicle came out last summer and so far they haven't done a thing. *tr

Purchased the 2015 crv in february 2015. approximately a week after making the purchase, the vehicle began extensively vibrating while stopped at a stop light or stop sign, with the vehicle engaged in the drive position and the brake pedal was pressed. i immediately noticed that the rpm's dropped below 600. the vibration is felt in both the drivers and passengers seats, but moreso in the drivers seat. it feels as though the vehicle is going to stall out. i do not feel safe driving this vehicle as i have the constant fear that it is going to stall out at any given time. i have taken it in to the dealership service center on four occasions, but they state they cannot reproduce the problem so they have been of no help. this is a known problem by honda, but it appears as though they are merely brushing it off in hopes that the complaints will stop.

Just like all the other complaints for the 2015 honda cr-v, while sitting at a red light, idling, the car shakes so much that i feel like i'm getting massaged. i have always loved hondas and this is ridiculous for a brand new honda. i have older vehicles than this and it runs smoother. my honda dealer states they contacted honda and they are aware of this issue but nothing has been done yet! *tr

i bought my honda cr-v 2015 touring model december 15,2014 with 2 miles on it. on my way to work in february i was driving on the highway at about 70mph when all of a sudden i felt a jerk on my car, (i thought it was just wind since we were supposed to have some bad winter weather come through) i looked down and my check engine light came on and the speedometer was going down. i pulled over to the shoulder and put my car in park and turned it off and waited a few minutes, it restarted and everything was fine. it has since happened to me two more times. *tr

After ten days of owning this car today is the first time that experienced engine vibration at idle while at a stop light. the vibration is felt through the cabin and the driver seat. this is totally unacceptable. the engine vibration is noticed around 550 600 rpm. if the ac is turned on the rpm increase and the vibration goes away. switching the ac off the rpm drop to around 550 600 and the vibration return. i hope honda is doing something about this. i will be taking the car back to the dealer for analysis. *tr

The 2015 honda cr-v has a problem with a vibration while the car is stopped idle and in drive at slow speeds the idling occurs at every stop light, and in heavy highway bumper to bumper traffic. the vibrations are experienced in the front passenger and driver seats and center console. drivers and passengers experience motion sickness including headaches, nausea. any new passenger in my vehicle is startled by the vibrations. every new passenger comments about the startling vibrations. some passengers even scream due to the startling vibrations. all of this is extremely distracting to the driver who is trying to pay attention to the traffic. the car feels like it is hesitating and will stall when the gas petal is depressed. this has not happened yet, but the issue is getting worse not better. honda admits to this issue, but offers no resolution and calls this merely an annoyance. this issue is getting worse and the manufacturer has been given a chance to fix the issue. i am not certain if the issue is the motor, transmission, or fuel injection system. it could be any of those systems. the attempt to make the cr-v more fuel efficient by using the honda accord's engine has been a failure and resulted in a major safety issue with the cars.

I own a 30.000 dollar vibrator! it vibrates when it idols and between 1000 to 2000 rpms. every owner of the 2015 crv i have talked to has the same problem! there are no recalls to fix it , but many-many complaints! this is my second crv and it will definately be my last!

My vehicle is a 2015honda crv exl when you are at 30-45 mph and you try to increase speed slightly the vehicle vibrates like the transmission is shuddering and slipping or is not getting enough power not sure but it seems to be related to the rpm setting at times it shudders quit bad. took it in to honda service and they said it is a characteristic of the vehicle and the cvt transmission and at that time nothing they could do but submit it to honda engineering . i am afraid that this will cause a major engine or transmission failure in the future if it is not addressed. i am not sure how this could be a characteristic of the cvt transmission because i have a family member who owns a 2014 honda accord with the same cvt and powertrain and the issue does not exist. please help me get this fixed as soon as possible. *tr

Brand new 5 miles on it when i got it. shakes when idles. took to dealer they signed invoice stating aware of shaking and felt the shaking. told me to call honda open a case. got case #. closed in 3 hrs. there is no solution to issue. per honda. they don't know if its mechanical, electrical or computer. as miles increase the shaking is getting worse. i am starting to feel it in steering wheel & gear shifter. i am very concerned if there is a loss of control of car i'll be in a car accident. the price i paid for crv exl & these issues with 1800 miles are totally unacceptable & if honda knew there was an error in the assembly lineof these cars & still released these cars to be sold there is liability on the part of honda. i want my 1996 corolla back it had 199,000 miles and did not shake like this 2015 crv!! i am seriously considering getting another car. honda better take the concerns of these consumer complaints seriously. honda is losing their quality workmanship reputation. i am so disappointed. i bought this based on honda's quality, value, research, overall reputation, and re-sale value, looks like i was misguided. *tr

I purchased this vehicle in the end of january and it was in the shop for nearly 2 weeks. the reason was for the vibrating that the vehicle was doing. the people at the shop took another cr-v out and drove it and told me that it was doing the same thing. now i ask you, is this the solution to the problem? this is the second cr-v i have purchased and if i could buy my first one back i would. that is just how fed up i am with this whole vibration thing. a car should not vibrate like this. i have never had any cars that would give you a seat massage while you are sitting at a stop light. i can't help but think that with all that vibrating going on it isn't going to cause other parts to deteriorate at a faster rate than normal because the vibrating is not normal. i am very disappointed in this vehicle and if there can't be a resolution then i will not be buying another one. i will go back to my chevys of which i probably never should have left in the first place.

Soon after purchase, i noticed a distinct vibration throughout the car during idle and moderate acceleration at nearly all speeds when rpm was at 1800-2200. dealer service people did not know the cause, indicated a number of other customer complaints, guessed it originated in computers associated with the transmission or differential, could not fix it, claimed it is not a safety matter, advised to contact honda customer service, said it is a priority at honda, and mentioned numerous reports and complaints on blogs and tv (7 on your side wjla, feb 25, 2015) the vibration is unpleasant, annoying and distracting. over time the shuddering may develop into a safety matter. please put pressure on honda to research the problem and make a fix or restitution as soon as they can and certainly before injuries and deaths occur because of it. *tr

I purchased new 2015 honda crv ex-l 01/21/2015. only 3 mile on it. immediately after purchased, the vehicle exhibited severe vibration when the car fully stop and on "d" position. idle is very low , around 550 rpm, and vehicle just shakes and passenger seat vibrates. vibrations can be felt through the steering wheel, and create a distraction during driving. brought it in dealership for checking, they said everything is normal???. this is abnormal compare to others new car. i trust the "honda" name, but now make me disappointed. i should buy the toyota rav4 rather than buying this crv. honda needs to fix this problem asap. *tr

this 2015 honda crv ex model when idling at a stop sign or in traffic it vibrates terribly. if i sit idle at a stop sign or traffic light for sometime the vibration becomes so annoying i need to shut the vehicle off. the other issue is between 1000 and 2000 rpm and between 20 mph and 30 mph there is a significant vibration which makes me feel very uneasy that the car is shifting properly and that it is safe to take on a highway. it took me a while to realize that it was a problem and now i have 2000 miles on the vehicle and contacted honda. i also looked online and have noticed approximately 80,000 people that i've had this issue. i spoke to the service manager over at sloan honda located in philadelphia pennsylvania about this issue and he explained that he would love to fix my vehicle as others have complained of this problem. he also explained that the dealer and his service shop makes money off of repairs. i would like to bring the vehicle in for service but there is nothing that they can do.my major concern is if i am doing 55 to 65 mph on a busy highway whether the car is going to fail because honda doesn't know why these vibrations are occurring at idol and various speeds. *tr

My 2015 honda crv touring had surged during initial start the past few days. i thought my foot hit both brake and accelerator during start up. it happened again today. i put the car in reverse and backed out of the garage when the surging stopped. i shut the car down and waited for my spouse to arrive. when i started the car again it surged to 4000 rpm then stopped. i shut the car down wondering what was going on. i again started the car to put it back into the garage rpms normal, shifted into drive and the car leaped forward a couple of feet before i could stop it and put it in park. the car was at this time surging and pulsing around 4000 rpm and would not stop. i shut the car down and had it towed to my honda dealer since i could not drive it. *tr

Brand new vehicle on the third trip from home. the hesitation/vibration problem is noticeable (intermittent shuddering as if a wheel is out of alignment and/or the vehicle has just hit a patch of black ice, but related to the newly designed crv transmission, a problem common to all crv 2015 that does not yet have a fix) but what really stunned me was a sudden extremely high rev when going down a small hill. i was braking lightly at the time. (service told me that the transmission downshifts on hills, so, using the brake caused this. ??!!) it didn't last long, but the engine raced so completely out of control that the vehicle did not feel safe, and one had the sense that motion had seized up, although it kept moving. the noise was incredible. it didn't happen for a while, and i assumed it was due to using the brake on a hill (!!??). i stopped using the brake on hills and noticed that the transmission didn't always downshift, sometimes it shifted up as the vehicle gained speed! what to do... i brought the vehicle in to service about the vibration issue, on the 28th jan, and was told that all crv 2015 have this issue and there's no fix yet. i left cheerfully enough, and driving home, the surge/rev happened again, going up a hill, with no use of the brake. i called my salesman, and the next morning returned the vehicle to the dealership and asked for my money back, because the car is not safe to drive. he wouldn't give my money back until this problem is proven by a honda canada engineer on this or on another crv 2015 vehicle. i left the car there. canadians-- i need your help if you have this problem! see the crv list and find me there. i owned it for 20 days, a little over 1000k (50 miles). the surge/rev problem only occurred twice, on winding hilly roads. the vibration/hesitation problem happens anywhere, but is more pronounced on winding hilly rds. *tr

My brand new 2015 honda crv for first 2 days it feels wonderful. from day 3rd car is vibrating like a message chair on stop light. and dealer or honda doesn't have any solution! i am real not fill safe while the driving this car and even i didn't get any response from honda and my dealership. honda dealer and america honda are aware of this issue. just google for the issue and you will know. my brand new 2015 honda ' crv is vibrating like a message chair on stop light (ideal) and drive d. honda seems they are not considering me a good customer but how can i forget that i spent 25k+ on the car which is just a headache to drive, not safe and get it fixed. it is vibrating really worst and engine make so noise which is not as usual. honda and dealership are not take any action for that i went over there two times but they don't have any solution. does this car is safe to drive? even i am not getting any appropriate answer from them. please need your help.. *js

My brand new 2015 honda cr-v is experiencing strong vibrations both in idle or in drive. i can feel the vibrations in drive seat, steering wheel, gas paddle. i can even see the shaking of passenger-seat back when it is idle. i am afraid such high frequency vibration will loosen screws, break parts and result in safety issue. honda needs to investigate and provide a solution. please help. regards. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 honda cr-v. while driving at both low and high speeds, the vehicle shook and vibrated abnormally. the vehicle was taken to the dealer more than three times, but they were not able to provide a permanent remedy for the condition. the dealer test drove the vehicle and indicated that the failure was associated with the newly designed engine and transmission/power train. the contact stated that the condition continued to progress with no solution to repair the vehicle. the contact was nauseous frequently when the vehicle vibrated and shook. the manufacturer provided no permanent remedy. the failure mileage was not available.

New 2015 honda cr-v is experiencing strong vibrations in idle. felt in seat, passenger seat, steering wheel, gas pedal, middle console, etc. i also feel vibrations through the steering wheel, gas pedal, and car itself while driving at lower speeds. i can even see the passenger-seat back shaking when in idle. honda acknowledges it's a problem, but do not have a timeframe of when fix will happen. not sure what damage is being done to car during these high frequency vibrations. how can anything that affects the driveability of car not be a safety concern? hard on the hands to hold on to vibrating steering wheel. please investigate, these needs to be recalled and fixed asap. *tr

Steering wheel shakes and the car has more vibrations from time to time when the car is stopped at lights etc.

Brand new honda crv touring 2015. passenger and driver seat is getting vibration when stop at d position. rpm is way to low (500-550). bring the car to honda dealer and they're confirmed, but not sure how to fix it. called honda customer service, open the case. week later, the case manager said the car is normal operation. no fix. this is not acceptable. *tr

My brand new 2015 honda cr-v is experiencing strong vibrations in idle when in drive. i can feel the vibrations in my seat as i am in idle, but it is most noticeable when the passenger seat is empty as it shakes aggressively from the vibrations. it's annoying and its distracting when driving. there are many complaints on the internet on this issue but honda is calling it a "characteristic" of the car. i've called the dealership twice now but they have no fix so they are basically telling me i am out of luck at this time and to wait it out. i've also made a phone call to honda america and awaiting a call back on my case. a brand new car with this price tag should not have vibrations when in idle. many consumers are worried about the long term effects of this vibration to the car. *tr

Hello, i bought 2015 honda cr-v lx on 12/30/2014, and on the next day, i noted the whole car vibrates whenever idling in drive, at 600 rpm. this happens every time i stop at the red lights. so, on 1/12/2015, i took it to honda cars of mckinney, tx, and they said the strange explanation; "when compared to other manufacturer's cars, it does vibrate more. but, when compared to other 2015 cr-vs, they all vibrate. so, this is why it is not the problem in 2015 cr-vs." when i searched online, the vibration problem on 2015 honda cr-vs is across the us, not just in texas. everyone has the same exact issue, and their honda service depts say the same comment; "you are the first one to report the problem. no one else has complained. there is no problem on the new 2015 cr-vs." currently, my cr-v is at 1000 miles, and the car still keeps vibrating at every red lights or in traffic. my family suffers from headaches and nausea because of the vibration. 2015 cr-v is definitely not the safe car. additionally, i believe this is also the classic example of deceptive business practice, and this needs to be corrected promptly because there would be more victims. please help us and have honda fix this vibration problem on 2015 cr-vs. regards, *tr

Test drove ten (10) 2015 crvs ( lx, ex and exls) and they all vibrate when in drive mode and one's foot on the brake as when stopped in traffic or waiting at a traffic light. ( fan, ac must be off) when rpm increases due to engine load on the alternator ( turning fan on, ac , etc) and the rpm increases the issue goes away. asked the service manager if the idle rpm could be increased to resolve the issue, however that is not possible. needless to say , did not purchase any of the vehicles. *tr

When vehicle a stop, the passenger seat is shaking (vibration). took the car to honda dealer to demo and the tech manager agreed the passenger chair is shaking ( vibration) at idle .call honda regional manager to report the issue, they call honda dealer to verified. after that honda manager called me back and said no fixed for this. this is unacceptable. please let honda know this is safety issue . thank you. *tr

Brand new 2015 honda crv vibrates during idle. when the car stops at the traffic light, the rpm drops down below 700 then the vibration start, the lower rpm the stronger vibration. it happens every time the car is idle but the shift in d mode. contact honda dealer and honda america then find out all the new honda 2015 crv have the same vibration problem. this problem not only causes annoyance but also distracts driver. please stop honda for selling defected car. *tr

The idle speed for the vehicle is too low. with the engine warmed up, you can step on the brake (as is typical at a red light) and the car will vibrate a lot and the driver will feel an uncomfortable vibration. at times, it seems like the engine might shut off. when the brake pedal is released and the engine rpm increase a little bit, the vibration stops. a quick search on the internet will reveal that this is a very common problem. *tr

There is very noticeable vibrations when vehicle stops at stop light. if vehicle is 'd' and 0 speed it vibrates and rpm needle is not sable. also, vibrations are at 60 and higher speed. engine is not smooth at all and feel/sound like engine is stressed. called honda multiple times but they are not acknowledging the issue. dealership also says all the 2015 crv has the issue so its normal!! please discuss with honda as all the new honda 2015 crv has vibration issue. this is a major defect and honda needs to face up to the issue with their new engine cvt design. *tr

When the vehicle is stopped at idle with the brake pedal engaged a serious vibration develops. as the vehicle sets the vibration increases and the rpm's drop from appx.. 600 rpm to below 200p rpm. . when the rpm's recover the vehicle pulls against the breaks. when i remove my foot from the break pedal the vibration stops. yesterday (5/19/2015) while stopped, the vehicle vibrated violently and then diesled and stalled while at a stop light. the full stall was a one time occurrence however the vehicle often approaches a stall while stopped with the brake . the vibration has been present since i purchased the vehicle in november 2014. when i took it to germaine honda, the selling dealership, in ann arbor, i was told that the vibration is a "characteristic" of the vehicle. this seems like a flimsy excuse and quite frankly problem is beginning to worry me. the stall was serious and in traffic. the vibration is very pronounced and travels throughout the chassis. i have read on the honda cr-v owner forum that this is a very common and dangerous problem. it seems that honda motors and their dealerships are simply ignoring the situation. i will take the vehicle to the dealer again next week . thank you

I have been experiencing same problem with vibration since purchasing new crv2015 with awd. when sitting at a stoplight, engine rpm drops below 1000 and vibration starts to occur. as soon as car starts moving, vibrations disappear. they are quite pronounced at these lower rpm's. i also own a jeep compass with cvt and this never happened with that engine/transmission. have not taken to dealer yet due to bad weather conditions in area but intend to do so shortly. since so many are experiencing this problem, honda needs to investigate and provide a solution. *tr

Vehicle vibrates badly when at idle in drive with foot on brake. vehicle also vibrates when rpm is around 2000 rpm when moving. can be felt in steering wheel, seats, dashboard, and floor. honda admits there is a problem but no remedy in site after 10 months. two videos from honda have been released so far with no solution available.

There are several ongoing problems caused by defects with this vehicle. there is a vibration when the car is in "drive" and completely stopped at an intersection. the rpm's drop, sometimes as low as 550 which causes a vibration as if the vehicle is about to stall. the lower the rpm's, the worse the vibration. on at least two occasions i have had to put the car in neutral at a stop light because the rpms dropped so low. there is another vibration or shudder in the transmission between 1800 and 2000 rpms when accelerating. sometimes i smell gasoline in my car shortly after ignition. sometimes following deceleration, the cvt transmission cannot catch up, and when i need to accelerate again, i put the "pedal to the metal;" but the car is barely accelerating and not thrusting forward like it should. this occurred on a highway merge at i-83 and i-695 on december 19, 2014 (a tricky and dangerous merge area). twice since 1/1/15 i have heard a frightening engine noise when decelerating on a windy downhill road. the noise sounds like a small plane is overhead, and i was shocked the car ws still running, as i was looking for check engine lights or some indication what was wrong. it is not a normal engine noise. honda is aware of the vibrations when stopped and at 1800-2000 rpms and does not know if/when a fix may be available. i am not the only owner with this issue - there are a number of complaints on the various review boards, and honda has acknowledged it is widespread. honda will not provide their position to me in writing when asked. the dealer has been unable to duplicate the other problems which are more intermittent, and it will be back at the dealer next week to address the frightening engine noise and document that problem. i do not feel safe driving this car and i am concerned that it will fail, resulting in an accident. *tr

Purchased new 2015 honda crv on november 8th, 2014. immediately after purchase, vehicle exhibited severe vibration and shuddering during idle, when accelerating, and at highway speeds. after vehicle is warmed up idle is very low , around 550 rpm, and vehicle just shakes and passenger seat vibrates. vibrations can be felt through the steering wheel, and create a distraction during driving. honda's response is that the vehicle is within parameters and this is a characteristic. an engine or transmission should not shudder or vibrate this much during driving. honda needs to acknowledge this and immediately correct it. *tr

Shortly after i bought my 2015 crv touring i noticed severe shaking while idling. i contacted the dealership and was told that it was a normal occurrence for a 4 cylinder vehicle and since i had traded in a v8 i was just not used to it. i took his word for it and have unfortunately become accustom to it but in the last month it has gotten much worse. now it is shaking violently enough to where if you were driving instead of idling you may lose control of the vehicle. this has also not been my only safety issue with this vehicle. my other complaint is that on certain road types the car is extremely unstable. the first time i experienced this issue i actually pulled over and called my husband to let him know what was going on. i immediately took it into the dealership and was told that it was happening because the tires were new and were grabbing the lines in the road and that it shouldn't last long. well, here it is five months and 4000 miles later and it's actually getting worse! the car veers to the right and to the left uncontrollably. my husband was driving when there was ice on the road and it actually pulled us and made us temporarily slide on the ice due to it jerking and he almost lost control. this is the least safe i've felt in any car that i've ever owned. i fear for my family's safety every time we ride in it and i am extremely disappointed in how honda has handled the complaints. *tr

Shortly after purchasing this vehicle we noticed that it has an extreme vibration problem. for us, the problem is most pronounced when the car is warmed up, and it is idling. under particular electrical load conditions the car will shake violently. the vibration is the worst when the car is idling in the 500-600 rpm range. several people have ridden in the car and asked us if something is wrong, and why is the car shaking like that. even my five-year-old asked why the car shakes so bad. the vibration is so strong, and the idle so bad, that at times it feels like the engine is about to die. honda needs to address this issue immediately. it is an unacceptable problem that must be fixed. *tr
