On average, the 2015 Honda CR-V starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 8 453 miles.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 honda cr-v. while driving at various speeds, the vehicle jerked. the vehicle was taken to a dealer. the technician diagnosed that the continuously variable transmission (cvt) needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 225. updated 5/20/15*cn

The 2015 honda cr-v has a problem with a vibration while the car is stopped idle and in drive at slow speeds the idling occurs at every stop light, and in heavy highway bumper to bumper traffic. the vibrations are experienced in the front passenger and driver seats and center console. drivers and passengers experience motion sickness including headaches, nausea. any new passenger in my vehicle is startled by the vibrations. every new passenger comments about the startling vibrations. some passengers even scream due to the startling vibrations. all of this is extremely distracting to the driver who is trying to pay attention to the traffic. the car feels like it is hesitating and will stall when the gas petal is depressed. this has not happened yet, but the issue is getting worse not better. honda admits to this issue, but offers no resolution and calls this merely an annoyance. this issue is getting worse and the manufacturer has been given a chance to fix the issue. i am not certain if the issue is the motor, transmission, or fuel injection system. it could be any of those systems. the attempt to make the cr-v more fuel efficient by using the honda accord's engine has been a failure and resulted in a major safety issue with the cars.

My vehicle is a 2015honda crv exl when you are at 30-45 mph and you try to increase speed slightly the vehicle vibrates like the transmission is shuddering and slipping or is not getting enough power not sure but it seems to be related to the rpm setting at times it shudders quit bad. took it in to honda service and they said it is a characteristic of the vehicle and the cvt transmission and at that time nothing they could do but submit it to honda engineering . i am afraid that this will cause a major engine or transmission failure in the future if it is not addressed. i am not sure how this could be a characteristic of the cvt transmission because i have a family member who owns a 2014 honda accord with the same cvt and powertrain and the issue does not exist. please help me get this fixed as soon as possible. *tr

The vehicle shakes noticeably at low rpms. specially when stopped while in gear i.e. at a red light or when accelerating slowly. the shake very noticeable, causes the seats to shake and rattles what ever is in the cup holders. it causes the rear view mirror to become useless. *js

Noticeable idle time vibration while stopped at stop sign and 'd' mode. vibration is so heavy that it makes my legs go numb and uncomfortable. *tr

Brand new 2015 crv ex awd with 250 miles. when it sits idle in the d position at a traffic light or stopped the car vibrates very badly. called the dealer service department at several different dealers in the dc area and none are aware of how to fix the problem. called honda customer service to report this and they said that there is no fix for this issue. *tr

Soon after purchase, i noticed a distinct vibration throughout the car during idle and moderate acceleration at nearly all speeds when rpm was at 1800-2200. dealer service people did not know the cause, indicated a number of other customer complaints, guessed it originated in computers associated with the transmission or differential, could not fix it, claimed it is not a safety matter, advised to contact honda customer service, said it is a priority at honda, and mentioned numerous reports and complaints on blogs and tv (7 on your side wjla, feb 25, 2015) the vibration is unpleasant, annoying and distracting. over time the shuddering may develop into a safety matter. please put pressure on honda to research the problem and make a fix or restitution as soon as they can and certainly before injuries and deaths occur because of it. *tr

Purchased vehicle 1/29/15 almost immediately noticed when you accelerate the vehicle vibrates, let it go thinking new car needs to get broken in. 1400 miles later, the car is still doing it, actually i think it's worse. took to dealer and they confirmed there is a vibration when you accelerate and continues while you're driving. dealer said honda is aware of the issue but doesn't have a fix for it yet. in fact, the mechanic at the dealership said about eight (8) other customers with the same issue. i contacted honda, only to be told this is a "condition" they are aware of and are investigating, however, since they don't feel there is a safety concern, they could not commit to when a repair procedure would be instituted. this is not acceptable. how can your car vibrating while you're driving not be a safety concern, how can anything that affects the driveability of your vehicle not be a safety concern. i can't even rid of it, what dealer is not going to question that vibrating. honda should be required to find a fix for this issue or replace the affected vehicles before someone gets killed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 honda cr-v. while driving at both low and high speeds, the vehicle shook and vibrated abnormally. the vehicle was taken to the dealer more than three times, but they were not able to provide a permanent remedy for the condition. the dealer test drove the vehicle and indicated that the failure was associated with the newly designed engine and transmission/power train. the contact stated that the condition continued to progress with no solution to repair the vehicle. the contact was nauseous frequently when the vehicle vibrated and shook. the manufacturer provided no permanent remedy. the failure mileage was not available.

Car has a bad vibration and shuttering while idling and at around 60 mph. it shakes and can be nauseating at times. paid over 30,000 for a car that is uncomfortable and makes me sick. i don't feel safe!!! honda dealer says in a "characteristic" of the car. something is defiantly wrong!!! *tr

At steady speeds between 20 - 45 mph, 2015 honda cr-v ex awd vibrates/shudders badly when you try to increase speed slightly. the vehicle vibrates like the transmission is shuddering/slipping and it seems to be related to the low cruising rpm (1100). took it in to honda service and they said it is a characteristic of the vehicle and the cvt transmission. dealer said nothing could be done to fix the issue. i test drove another 2015 cr-v and it exhibited the same issues. it may be a common characteristic but that doesn't mean the drive train is functioning as it should. it greatly diminishes the overall quality feel of the vehicle. i also reported the issue to honda usa. i am afraid that this will cause a major engine or transmission failure in the future if it is not addressed. *tr

Car vibrates at idle//has vibrations and noise at various speeds//local dealer can not figure out //honda dsm said he would check on it, but apparently it's a common problem. *js

The car has a vibration at low speeds, 15 - 20 mph. when accelerating from 35 - 40 mph the car shudders. the dealer said mine was the forth car the had seen with this problem and there is no fix at this time. they took computer snapshots that were sent to honda. the honda regional rep told me that honda knows there is a problem. i have had no communication from honda since feb. 27 2015. i don't know if it is safe to drive this vehicle at freeway speeds. my case number with honda is [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I came to a stop and the vehicle started shaking violently. this happened at 2 stop lights. the vehicle had 500 miles on it. subsequently there are various levels of vibration while at stops along with a rough ride. the seats shake along with the entire vehicle. can't get a straight story from honda. everything from working on a fix to it doesn't exist. 2 dealers have acknowledged the issue exists. unfortunately mechanics say it's a huge transmission problem. the vehicle now has 2450 miles on it and i'm afraid to drive it. *tr

I have been experiencing same problem with vibration since purchasing new crv2015 with awd. when sitting at a stoplight, engine rpm drops below 1000 and vibration starts to occur. as soon as car starts moving, vibrations disappear. they are quite pronounced at these lower rpm's. i also own a jeep compass with cvt and this never happened with that engine/transmission. have not taken to dealer yet due to bad weather conditions in area but intend to do so shortly. since so many are experiencing this problem, honda needs to investigate and provide a solution. *tr

Vehicle vibrates badly when at idle in drive with foot on brake. vehicle also vibrates when rpm is around 2000 rpm when moving. can be felt in steering wheel, seats, dashboard, and floor. honda admits there is a problem but no remedy in site after 10 months. two videos from honda have been released so far with no solution available.

There are several ongoing problems caused by defects with this vehicle. there is a vibration when the car is in "drive" and completely stopped at an intersection. the rpm's drop, sometimes as low as 550 which causes a vibration as if the vehicle is about to stall. the lower the rpm's, the worse the vibration. on at least two occasions i have had to put the car in neutral at a stop light because the rpms dropped so low. there is another vibration or shudder in the transmission between 1800 and 2000 rpms when accelerating. sometimes i smell gasoline in my car shortly after ignition. sometimes following deceleration, the cvt transmission cannot catch up, and when i need to accelerate again, i put the "pedal to the metal;" but the car is barely accelerating and not thrusting forward like it should. this occurred on a highway merge at i-83 and i-695 on december 19, 2014 (a tricky and dangerous merge area). twice since 1/1/15 i have heard a frightening engine noise when decelerating on a windy downhill road. the noise sounds like a small plane is overhead, and i was shocked the car ws still running, as i was looking for check engine lights or some indication what was wrong. it is not a normal engine noise. honda is aware of the vibrations when stopped and at 1800-2000 rpms and does not know if/when a fix may be available. i am not the only owner with this issue - there are a number of complaints on the various review boards, and honda has acknowledged it is widespread. honda will not provide their position to me in writing when asked. the dealer has been unable to duplicate the other problems which are more intermittent, and it will be back at the dealer next week to address the frightening engine noise and document that problem. i do not feel safe driving this car and i am concerned that it will fail, resulting in an accident. *tr

As i was trying to accelerate, the vehicle stopped responding. this has happened about 7 times now since i bought the vehicle new in oct. 2014. it happens as i give the vehicle gas to accelerate - it seems to just stop accelerating - it lasts about 2 seconds, and then seems to recover. there is the sensation that the vehicle has shutdown/shutoff, but does not actually stall. vehicle was taken back to the dealer who said they found nothing wrong. it typically happens between 50-65 mph, but has happened 1x under 15mph (was in a parking lot at that time). the first time it happened i had pulled into a high-speed lane, gave the car gas, but it just seemed to go dead for about 2 seconds. *tr

Purchased new 2015 honda crv on november 8th, 2014. immediately after purchase, vehicle exhibited severe vibration and shuddering during idle, when accelerating, and at highway speeds. after vehicle is warmed up idle is very low , around 550 rpm, and vehicle just shakes and passenger seat vibrates. vibrations can be felt through the steering wheel, and create a distraction during driving. honda's response is that the vehicle is within parameters and this is a characteristic. an engine or transmission should not shudder or vibrate this much during driving. honda needs to acknowledge this and immediately correct it. *tr

tl* the contact owns a 2015 honda cr-v. while driving uphill at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle lost power without warning. the failure recurred multiple times. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 15v121000 (engine, engine cooling). the manufacturer was notified. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 2,000.

1) noticeable and distracting vibrations in d, mostly at low rpms. after speeding up (which, in itself is a problem see #2), to say 35 or 40, i let off the gas a bit to turn into somewhere or slow down for a car in front of me. once i press the gas pedal again to speed up, it's as if i am still in the higher gear and the car rumbles vibrates and protests as if it is going 30mph and i am in 5th in a manual transmission. this happens all the time when driving around town. 2) starting out. it can either jump out way too fast or "slide" up to speed growling and vibrating all the way, almost as if the emergency brake was on. i have actually checked a few times to make sure the emergency brake wasn't engaged, the drag was so noticeable. 3) at any given time the engine will rev up to 2500 - 3000 rpms for no apparent reason and drop like a stone to 1000. this will happen on a hill, up or down, or on a flat. yesterday i could actually feel the drop from 3000 to 1000 in the drivers seat. i am not pressing on the gas pedal at these times. this is abnormal function. 4) on the highway , i slowed down behind a truck in front of me because cars were speeding by on the left. i then tried to pass the truck and the car just wouldn't go. it hesitated and almost shut down. i have not tested this again because it felt reckless to make it happen again. the biggest issue is the inconsistency of all of these issues. there was one week when the car seemed to fine for a few days. but that was it. since then this thing seems to think it knows how to drive itself but it does not. and because of items 3 and 4, i no longer feel safe in this car. *tr

Mine is a 2015 crv exl. i can't believe honda built this car. it has bad vibrations when stopped and idling, the entire seat shakes. it has bad engine/ transmission shuddering when i accelerate when the engine chooses a rpm in the 1000-2000 range. even at highway speeds it shudders at random intervals. this is a big problem. not only is it extremely annoying, it can not be good for the engine long term. this will cause a major engine or transmission failure in the future. honda needs to acknowledge this problem, find a solution, and apologize to me and all those 2015 crv owners.

Ok, so i bought a brand new honda crv 2015 on 12/01/14. when i drove it home i felt the huge vibration at idle, so i said to myself ok maybe the engine is new so it needs breaking time. however after drive everyday from home to work, and work to home, the crv 2015 has a major problem. when it's in d mode and brake pressed, the rpm stays around 600, when i'm waiting for red light or stop sign the car just vibrates really crazy. i have very short leg, so i'm trying my best to hold on the brake, but the shake is making it really difficult, numerous time my legs are so tired i had to put on parking mode. the problem wont occur when the engine is cold or the heater fan is on high. and i contacted honda corporate, they say all the parts are good there is no parts defect so it doesn't qualify for recall. but come on! it is a safety issue, specially if you drive the vehicle in new york which involves countless stops. i never fill out any complains, but i cant hold my big disappointment towards honda quality control. *tr
