On june 14, 2014 i was run on the road into a utility pole.by another driver. my airbag exploded with abrasions to my rt arm and chest. my doors on both sides locked on me while fumes from under the hood were filling my interior. the police had to pry the door open.to get me out. i later started having pain in my chest and found out that cartilage broke away from my chest cavity--costochondritis. the car was totalled, but i was advised to check the recall on that make and model. i found two recalls that it seemed just happened. i don't know how long these airbag problems existed. i bought another honda and checked for recalls on my 2014 crv. so far none have been noted. i love my car, but what should i do about recalls on this one.

Air bag light came on. brought to honda and was charged a diagnose fee and was informed that i would have to pay most of the cost of replacement. did not repair at the time and the light went off a few days later. now recall was issued for air bags in march 2016.

Vehicle was in an accident and repaired. air bag never deployed and now 3 years later the srs system has three faults the bernadi honda said were related to the accident. insurance company refused to repair system saying it was maintenence. 33-10 open in the left side curtain airbag first inflator. e1-11 left front airbag and left seat belt tensioner stopped deployment. f1-11 driver's airbag and or driver's seat belt tenioner deployed. *js

the srs light came on i took it to honda to diagnose the problem and was told that the system is failing this is not normal i bought the vehicle for its safety reviews and now only 5 years old i'm being told that my air bags may not deploy in an accident i was quoted $1,200.00 to fix the system. *tr

I was slowly approaching the store front to the establishment that i was going to enter. i braked and the automobile began to accelerate and would not stop until the it climbed the curb and drove into the stores front door. this caused quite a bit of damage to the store and i was injured and transported to the hospital. i was examined and test and x-rays were taken indicating that i had fractured my sternum. the air bags never deployed...updated 11/07/12 *bf

When backing out of an unpaved parking area i hit a large ponderosa pine tree with the rear bumper. the bumper absorbed the impact with a small scratch to the bumper cover. upon impact, the car was no longer in my control for it lurched forward about 40 feet into the parking space i had left and hit another large tree with the center of the car. the car accelerated forward so quickly i do not recall when the airbag deployed. immediately after the collision all four wheels continued spinning and dug small depressions in the dirt until the engine stopped. i had no control over the vehicle after backing into the tree. i suffered bruised ribs and a severe burn to my hand from the airbag. a sheriff assessed the accident and called an ambulance to assess my condition and i did not require hospitalization. there was significant damage (estimated $11,000) to the front of the car. this was my first accident and i'm concerned that my honda cr-v is unsafe for the above reason. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda cr-v. the contact stated while driving 4 mph, another vehicle crashed into the driver side of his vehicle. the seat belts did not secure and the driver was thrown into the windshield. the air bags deployed after the crash happened. the driver suffered a broken sternum in addition to various head injuries. the vehicle was not repaired or inspected for the failure. the failure and current mileage was 75,000.

I drove into the rear end of a truck when i glanced away. the car crumbled and the airbags never deployed. shockingly, the car was repaired. i have the car back and the keys will not remove from the ignition. each time it is more difficult to remove them. *tr

On 4/24/2011 at approximately 9:15 pm my 19 year old daughter was traveling on the hwy in arkansas in her 2008 honda cr-v at a speed of 70 miles per hour. she had a collision with a deer and her airbags failed to deploy. her seatbelt restrained her from hitting the windshield. this is the second time she has had a hit with a deer and the airbags have failed to deploy. the vehicle has sustained major damage this time and is not operational due to engine and body damage. she has suffered bruising and a stiff neck due to the impact. the arkansas state police was contacted to assist her, but they never showed. *tr

My 19 yr. old daughter was involved in an accident on 10-4-10 in which the entire front end of her 2008 honda cr-v ex-l appears to have been hit "head on". however, the accident occurred as she was making a left turn going north and a south bound driver ran a red light, swerved, and took out the entire front end of her car, spun her around and then hit another one. i'm writing because the only airbags to deploy were the passenger window bags (front and rear) and the steering wheel airbag. the "sensors" should have signaled the "driver side" bags to deploy. she suffered a severe concussion and we cannot determine what part(s) of the vehicle her head struck. the impact was severe enough to "break" the seat belt mechanism (it will not retreat back). the driver side appears to have taken the hardest hit from the impact. thus, it's extremely disconcerting to me that the "driver side air bags" did not deploy. i've made the honda dealership aware of this and my insurance company. no one seems to think it's a big deal. sorry! i think it's a huge deal! i researched the safety standards of this vehicle extensively before purchasing it for her and safety was the #1 reason i purchased this particular automobile. can you please help me? *tr

I was in a collision my car hit a car that had pulled out in front of me. i was on a highway going 55mph i was about three car lengths from her when i saw her and hit my brakes impact point 12 front center(p)right front corner(s) my problem is that the air bags did not deploy and i received serious bruising on my chest from the seat belt and the belts were fully out and locked. should my airbags deployed. the car is in the shop and they are checking the airbags according to the damage assessment report. *tr

2008 honda crv hit in driver & rear driver side doors by older full size chevrolet pickup that was coming too fast over blind hill at about 30 to 35 mph (in a 25mph zone), unable to stop, and sliding on snow and ice. honda driver was turning left & headed for shallow ditch that was straight ahead, to try to get out of way. no airbags deployed, even though car has side airbags. driver hit head on either window or side column between front & back doors. driver incurred $7000 in hospital costs for investigation of head, neck, back, & shoulder pain. pain & headaches continue after 17 days. car has not been repaired yet. it will be repaired at honda dealer. contact us if you want the parts. we will have them saved. I am the owner of a 2008 honda crv. after a minor accident, i was told by the honda service in december 2009 that i needed to replace airbag sensors and my driver's side seat belt buckle. subsequently, the driver's side seat belt became stuck 3/4 out and i was told that it needed to be replaced. the dealer then told me that it could not obtain the part from american honda. this fact was confirmed by another dealer. the dealer then stated that the part might be available on january 13, then postponed until january 23 and now postponed until february 3. the driver's side seat belt is a basic part required for the safe operation of the vehicle. the honda crv is one of that company's most popular models. i and i am sure others are left with cars that cannot be safely driven. this is an outrageous situation. *tr

Head on collision with another vehicle, both doing at least 50 mph. airbag didn't deploy. vehicles involved were my 08 honda crv and a 95 chevrolet camaro. car was taken to body shop with $9,000 in damages. once repaired, air bag light was on. i was told by body shop it needed a new sensor, new abs valve and seat belt buckle. honda dealer is trying to say i was hit too high for the sensors but i was hit hard enough to bend the flanges on the side frame rail 4 bolt mount. honda dealer doesn't want to discuss with me. *tr
