driver side lock and trunk lock initially about a month ago would not lock manually or remotely. then two days ago, the car would not unlock at all. had to have the car unlocked by a company. now only the passenger and two rear doors work. i have to crawl in from the passenger side to get in the car. *tr
The locks on my car's doors automatically re-lock within a second of trying to unlock them. when the engine is running, and i am in park, i cannot manually unlock the doors at all. i am very nervous that i may end up getting locked in my car without the ability to exit; this could be especially hazardous in an accident or another emergency. *tr
When using the key to unlock the doors, they relocked automatically in less than one second. this was initially occurring sporadically, but within a week progressed to constantly. even unlocking manually from inside the vehicle, it relocked on its own before i was able to open the door. this has become a safety issue, as i use my vehicle mostly as transportation for my young children. the first time it kept locking on me, my baby was in her car seat and i was unable to unlock the doors. this was very frightening to me. i must now simultaneously press the unlock button and use my other hand to open the door to be able to enter or exit my vehicle. i called my local honda dealer who told me that he hadn't heard of this problem, and that it would cost $ 127 for a diagnostic test to try to find the cause of the problem. *tr
Received a recall notice from american honda about 2007 cr-v honda drivers door lock may not lock or cycle when trying to unlock the door. took the vehicle in to spring branch honda in houston, tx for the recall repair; now the left rear door cycles lock/unlock when stopping and starting everytime you stop/start, but will not lock when vehicle is turned-off nor after exiting the vehicle. the left door will not lock at all when vehicle is in motion nor after exiting the vehicle. even though my eight year old is wearing a seatbelt i'm still afraid he may open the door accidentally and fall out of a moving vehicle. *tr
Door locks began to lock and unlock by themselves repeatedly as i drove, unlocking @ around 9 mph no matter how many times i relocked. if i relocked them they would open at an intersection stop (very unsafe also!), or just open & close while i was driving - all kinds of noisy door-locking & unlocking. i was unable to keep the rear door locked at all when i stopped the car, leaving it unlocked at night or if i left the care to go somewhere. i was on a trip with luggage, computer, gps, etc. in the car and it was unlocked! when i got back home to rhode island and brought it to the dealership they found the lock actuators on the front & rear passenger doors needed to be replaced at a cost of $524. they stated they didn't know what happened but it was not cause by anything i did, which made me even more uncomfortable because then it might happen again! i felt i had to pay to have the service completed because i felt so unsafe with an unlocked auto, both on the road when driving and also overnight or when parked. i have just submitted this information, service invoice, and a copy of my proof of payment to honda in torrance, ca, only because i saw a similar complaint on wpri-tv in providence - which made me realize i was not at all alone with this issue. *tr
Dear nhtsa, i own 2007 crv ex-l . i'm experiencing a peculiar problem in my crv sometimes the door gets locked automatically or when we try to open it through remote keys, door gets locks immediately with in a second. one time my kid was inside and accidentally i closed the door and it got locked. i was really scared but luckily after few tries, it got opened. i don't want to think about it, if this happens in a crucial time when we want to open the door and all are inside the car.when i said this to my friend who owns 2008 crv, he said that he is also having the same problem and he referred another friend who has the same problem. so i think we need to investigate this issue to avoid any terrible situation in future. if needed i can share two of my friends information right now. when i searched internet, i found lot of people has the same problem particularly with 2007 to 2011 all honda models. *tr
The front passenger door lock automatically unlocks while the vehicle is moving and can't be relocked. also, the other door locks click for no reason. *tr
I first had to replace the back passenger door lock (300 dollars) due to it would not lock and car was unlocked when carrying grandkids... this month the lock has failed in the front locks....if u try to unlock it ...it locks back so fast you cannot get the door opened....that is a safety hazard as whoever is sitting in the passenger side cannot get out...i am having to spend another 3 to 4 hundred dollars to fix this problem.....it is a known honda issue and they refuse to recall or assist in fixing the issue....there is a class action suit for this issue... *tr
Upon locking the door using either the keyless entry button or the automatic locks on the doors both the left front and right rear doors immediately unlock. upon unlocking the doors the right rear door immediately re-locks itself. *tr
I'm having trouble with my door locks. the front door locks don't work properly and the rear hatch also works when it wants to?.....i've read the owners manual and done what it says to do to no avail....please tell me if their is a remedy. *tr
In december, my rear passenger side door would not unlock. i tried to manually unlock the door and the lock would not budge. my baby was in his rear-facing carseat on the rear passenger side of the car so i had to open the rear driver side door to get my baby out through that door. the problem has continued to escalate to the point that as of today (06/11/13), the rear passenger side door will no longer lock and the front passenger side door will only remain unlocked for a few seconds before moving itself back to the locked position. i have an appointment with my local honda dealer tomorrow to fix the problem at my expense. this is a safety issue and based upon the number of complaints i have found on the internet, honda should be forced to issue a recall. i have three children and i fear that if there is an accident and we need to evacuate the vehicle, the door locks may fail all together and we may not be able to safely exit the vehicle. *tr
Door locks normally with key fob or at designated speed of 8mph. however left rear and right front slowly unlock after about 3 seconds. repeated key fob use is to no avail. using the door lock switch or the actual door lock mechanism will still not allow door to remain locked. highly unsafe as there is no way to keep door locked and prevent door from opening. vehicle is now easily hijackable or can be broken into quickly. *tr
My 2007 honda cr-v door locks (passenger side) started making a whining noise when it was less than 2 years old, but my son noticed in november that the doors would immediately unlock after they are locked, even when the vehicle is moving. there have been several times when my hatch has gotten stuck in the locked position and i could not open it. i would not feel safe having a small child in my car when the doors will not stay locked. not to mention, that i had a loaded gun in my glove box for a while and did not know that the car was not staying locked. *tr
Passenger side door automatic lock malfunction. at times would not open/ at times would not lock. when i use the master control (on the drivers side door) or the key fob, the passenger side lock continually clicks. also the locks continue to click open and locked as i drive (especially when i speed up from a stop.) i have heard that many other people have the same type of problems. *tr
The drivers side door will lock automatically and will sometimes not unlock. *tr
Last fall, the door lock on the front passenger door on my 2007 honda crv began to lock back after unlocking it to allow my son into the car. it locks back within 2-3 seconds of unlocking it with the keyless entry. since this time, the other 3 doors operate in the same manner. the doors lock back within seconds after unlocking. on monday, july 15, my car did not start. with the keys in the ignition, i got out of the car to go check under the hood. after checking under the hood, i tried to get back in my car but could not...the doors were locked...all four of them along with the hatchback. i returned inside my home to retrieve my spare car key. the key did not unlock my door. i attempted several times without luck. there is only one key entry point with the model i have and the key did not work. i had to enter the car through the sunroof, which i had left open the previous evening. i then removed the keys from the ignition and attempted to open the door manually with this key. it did not open the door, either. neither does the valet key. the only way i can open my car is with the keyless entry. i checked with the local honda dealer and was told it would cost between $800-$1200 to fix. i do not think this is right - i should be able to open my car with a key. i can get by without the keyless entry but all cars, regardless of mileage or years, should open manually with a key. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda crv. the contact stated that the front passenger and driver side door actuators failed. as a result, the contact was unable to enter the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was advised that the failure was common with the 2007 and 2008 model years. the failure and the current mileages were 57,000. updated 11/16/12*lj the consumer stated 11/5/2012 the rear door is now showing signs of potential failure. updated 11/20/2012 *js
Power door lock would open and close randomly while driving, from a stopped position to approx 20mph. recently when using key fob to lock car the doors would randomly unlock(took several times of locking and unlocking( to get the doors to stay locked. this past week the door lock actuator started making a terrible grinding sound when locking/unlocking doors. now door power door locking system has failed entirely and i have to use the key to open the doors. *tr
The passenger rear right (r.rr) door lock actuator failed on 8/25/12 in the locked position then eventually would unlock with the remote fob but would immediately relock on its own. the passenger front (r.fr) door lock actuator failed on 12/10/12 with the same symptoms as the r.rr actuator. the passenger left rear (l.rr) actuator failed on 8/15/13 in the locked mode and would not unlock with the mechanical lever or remote fob. in order to get the door open i had to remove the door panel and dissemble the actuator still installed in the door. *tr
On my 2007 crv the doors, if not already locked, lock automatically when the car reaches about 10 to 20 mph. in mid august 2012 i began to hear the clicking of the door locking each time i started after being stopped at a light or having slowed down. i realized that the passenger rear door was not locking. i brought it to be fixed and was told it was the actuator. the cost to repair was $230.00. two months later, it happened again with another door-this time, the passenger front door. and then in december it happened again with the driver side rear door. i did not get the last two fixed right away due to the cost (with 2 it would be around $500.00 which i did not have at the time) but it became a significant problem because i could not lock my car. this is a saftey issue too, i did not feel comfortable riding in my car in certain neighborhoods and i was concerned about possible theft of my car or items in my car since there was no way to lock the doors. i have had the two actuators replaced and have contacted honda but they say there is no recall for my vin # and with the milage and age of my car....however, there have been several other models with door lock issues. honda knows that the door locks are/have been an issue. i believe it is a safety concern that honda should address. no one should have to wait until they can afford to fix these locks in order to get them fixed! *tr
All five door locks will lock immediately after you unlock them making it very difficult to get into or out of the car. the locks will also lock and unlock randomly while driving under 15mph. *tr
the doors will not stay lock while moving; time of parking the driver door will not stay locked. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda cr-v. the contact stated that the front passenger door could only be unlocked with the master control on the driver's side or with the key fob but it would lock itself if the door was not opened immediately. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and the latch assembly was replaced. the failure and current mileages were 56,000.
Failure of the door lock actuator. the rear driver's-side door continually unlocks, even despite the automatic lock feature. with small children in the back, i am unable to ensure their safety with an unlocked door while driving, or even while parked. also, our belongings are at risk of theft because that door is constantly unlocked, even when locked by hand. despite our efforts, the door unlocks itself immediately after we lock it. *tr
Left rear door lock actuator did not lock after 9 mph per design. believe this to be a safety issue in that passenger in left rear can open door while traveling at high speeds. *tr
Problem started with driver-side rear locks. would not always lock, constantly tried to relock itself while driving, and made rattling sound. problem has spread to all doors. driver side door will not lock at all. passenger-side rear lock will not unlock. hatch will not open. other doors relock themselves immediately so you have less than one second to open door. using the key itself makes no difference. *tr
The locks are acting weird. the car locks automatically when the door is closed. as soon as i get in the doors lock and the same when i get out. when i need to get in the car i need to use the key fob and it unlocks for just a second the locks again quickly. very annoying! i fear the locks will malfunction more and more as time passes. today the alarm went on and i had to start the car and put it in reverse and back in drive then in park and then off to end the alarm. *tr
Passenger side door lock does not function properly. the lock slowly unlocks itself. *tr
Car security system automatically lock doors after a few seconds of unlocking. can not unlock car with keys have to use fob. right side passenger door wont lock proppally. *tr
I previously filed a complaint about my car doors locking and unlocking. does someone have to lose their life for honda to recognize the problem here? or maybe one of our children from being locked inside? *tr
Right front passenger door will not stay locked, no matter how i try to lock it. it locks and slowly opens itself. *tr
The locks intermittently do not stay locked. they will unlock on their own while driving. the car will not lock properly while it is on. it also does not lock properly while it is off. all doors except the driver door is affected. *tr
On may 18, 2012, my passenger side door lock started malfunctioning. every time i would start or stop, the door would lock then immediately unlock. it is unable to be locked using the key fob and is unable to be locked manually by pushing the lever inside the car. so basically the car is unlocked. it is a faulty/defective door lock actuator. common problem in hondas. other models and years have been recalled, but not the 2007 cr-v. i only have 19,700 miles on my 5 year old car!!! honda needs to issue a recall. i have already have two other items fixed on this car at no cost because of tsbs being issued (rear differential and transmission module). i have contacted honda corporate to request a goodwill consideration repair since it will cost approximately $265 to replace this defective/faulty part. *js
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda cr-v.the contact stated that the rear driver and rear passenger side doors failed to lock or unlock remotely or manually. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured lock actuator. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 30,000 and the current mileage was 38,000.
The front right passenger door and the hatch door were locked shut. i could not open either door with the remote or manually. i was concerned this could be dangerous for the passenger if we were ever involved in an accident and needed to get out of the car immediately. i did have both doors repaired. then a few months later the rear door started making a grinding noise whenever the doors locked or unlocked. then the drivers door would open and close all the doors at random times. i was concerned the doors would lock me out one day. i do make frequent car trips to see my family in another city and i did not want to get locked out while on route in the middle of nowhere. i have since had those two doors repaired for another few hundred dollars. this is a safety issue for anyone who might be in an accident and the doors will not open. i feel honda should take responsibility for this defect in the crv's before someone does get seriously hurt or worse. *tr
Front driver and trunk doors power locks stop working. it seemed to be very common issue for honda cr-vs 2007 and younger. i was told by dealership to replace two latches would cost me staggering $500. it definitely seem to be the design problem. i am not sure why honda does not act to recall the part, forcing customers to pay for its shortcomings. *tr
The power door locks on my car unlocks and locks while driving .. passengers and driver side doors lock and cannot reopen unless u have the key or the driver unlocks the door making this a dangerous safety feature ..thus if something happens to the driver the passengers in the car cannot get out.. several times that i have gotten out of the car to go into the store and left my handicapped sister in the car she tried to get out to use the stores bathroom and found that she could not get out of the car.. it was locked and the power door locks failed this has happened way too many times according to the internet when this problem is googled it appears to be a common problem ..honda needs to recall these cars and fix them this is a safety hazard if you were a passenger and got into an accident which knocks the driver out and there was a car fire etc the passengers would burn to death because they can not open the doors from the inside ... or the out side ... please help us honda wanted 253.00 to fix one door lock i have no money to do this they should recall these vehicles .. as they are aware of this problem according to the internet ... *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda cr-v. the contact stated that whenever he accelerated from stops, the door locks would involuntarily lock and unlock. on a few occasions, the contact got locked inside of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the rear passenger side door lock was replaced. the failure and current mileages were 112,000.
Rear driver door not locking. when all the doors are locked either using the remote or the master driver door lock button, the rear driver door returns to the unlocked state within one second of locking. it cannot be locked manually and does not remain locked if the button is manually held in place. i have read various complaints of the door locking system becoming faulty. why won't honda take ownership and do a recall! i am unfairly having to spend almost $250 to get the actuator replaced. door locks should come with a lifetime warranty just like seat belts! this is causing a theft hazard as well as a safety hazard for my child riding in the back seat! *tr
Is the federal government going to sit on their hands and wait for someone to die before they take action. these door locks are unsafe and very much defective *tr
Door locks are locking and unlocking while driving. *tr
The mechanics of the door locks have become progressively worse beginning first with the front passenger door and then spreading to the right side rear passenger door, driver door, and rear hatch. all of the doors randomly lock and unlock and make a loud rattling sound while doing so. the right side rear door no longer unlocks from the outside. the rear hatch only opens 5% of the time we attempt to open it (which is a nightmare when it is full of luggage or groceries). the doors will not unlock manually with a key... only the fob key. i have seen numerous complaints online addressing this problem and am shocked that it has not been addressed by honda. it is a major safety hazard. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 honda cr-v. the contact stated that the front passenger side door would not lock. the failure occurred on the front driver and rear passenger side door as well. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. the technician stated the door actuator would have to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the vehicle was repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 52,000. *tr updated 7/10/13 *cn according to the repair invoice. the passenger side door locks would unlock on its own.

For the last 2 years my 2007 cr-v has had issues with electric door-lock operation 1)the passenger door does not unlock. unlocking all doors via drivers side or key fob momentarily opens the passenger lock ? it then automatically locks again in 2-4 seconds. this is a safety issue as the passenger cannot get out in the event of an emergency. door handle operation does not over-ride the lock ? and the 2-4 second window electronically unlocking is difficult to synchronize handle operation in the best of circumstance. 2)in addition, all door locks continuously lock?lock?.lock when driving forward @ approximately 8-10km/hour. i am the original owner. there are many similar complaints ? i see ~ 105 at safercar.gov. *tr
Failure of door lock. the rear passenger door will not lock despite all attempts to get it to lock and the rear driver door continuously makes a loud clicking sound every 2-3 minutes as if it is locking and unlocking the clicking sound has now changed to a loud buzzing soundthe evening of nov 11, 2013 my car had been invaded, cannot say broken into because the door would not lock! police report filed. have appt 11-25-2013 with honda dealer for diagnosis-actuator?. first owner of a honda crv 2007. *tr

We have a problem with the door latch in our 2007 honda cr-v on the back driver seat. it was fixed under the warranty. couple months later we started having a problem with the front driver door. i was on the way back home with an 8 week old baby . when i parked the car and tried to open door i realized that the doors were completely closed- i couldn't open them at all. i tried several times with no result. the baby i was caring on the back of the seat and i couldn't get out of the car. after many tries, i used the front passenger door to get out of the car. the driver doors and the trunk were completely closed- jammed. i couldn't even open with the key. i was so scared as i'm using that car to go to the doctor or for shopping purposes. all the time my baby is with me and this is a very serious safety issue if you cannot open the driver door. i called my husband and we went to the closest honda service- mcgrath honda. they told us that they can fix it the next day for $500. they did. the next day car was fixed, but on my back way home i realized that front passenger door had the same problem. i came back to the service and they fix the door for free as it were the third door with the same issue. my main concern is what will happen if the car will be on fire? how i will escape with my baby if the doors are jammed? what will happen with my baby if the situation will repeat? *kb
2007 honda cr-v auto door locks faulty. locks will not stay locked, even while driving. hazard for children in back seat, possible theft issue as well. *tt
My door locks on the car would lock and unlock while driving and there was no way to stop it from doing this. in addition, there was no way for me to lock the vehicle while driving or after parking and leaving the vehicle. when the dealer did not fix the problem i then asked them how i could lock the vehicle and the servicemen sent me on my way and said there was no way to do so. this problem has continued with each of the doors. the latest is that the car door will not unlock. the other day i had to crawl across the console to get out of the car because there was no way to unlock the door and get out. i am concerned about the safety of this issue because if there were an accident it is possible that people in the car would not be able to get out, especially if the accident resulted in a car fire. in addition, with children in the back seat, there is no way to prevent them from opening the door while driving. i have taken the car into honda six times regarding the different doors and each time have had to fight with them regarding fixing this problem. the first time the vehicle was under warranty so it was fixed without a question, but each additional time i have had to wait several days and argue with different people. door locks should work and when you review different forums and blogs on line and so many people have complained about this safety issue they should be taking care of this problem. *tr
