I purchased a 2016 honda civic for my son in 2016. i received a notice about ac problems this year. i contacted my son and asked him if he had problems with the a/c. he reported that it doesn't blow very much air and the air never gets cold. so i had him take to dealership. he was told that the recall for a/c affected only one part of the unit which they could fix under no cost...but they said that there was a huge hole in the air compressor and this was not covered. they quoted over $2,000 to replace air compressor. i found this hard to believe and researched to find out what causes a hole in the compressor that makes it beyond repair and the only information i could find were others having the same problem with 2016 honda civic faulty air compressors. again when i tested it myself, it was not blowing cold air and sometimes not blowing air at all. since i purchased vehicle, it seems like system was not fully capable of defrosting windows in front and back and figured the design was bad.
Wiper blades makes loud rubbing noise, because wiper arms are pressed very hard against windshield causing friction between the blades and windshield. i installed new wipers from sam's club, still loud noise is not going away. this problem existed ever since i bought brand new civic in 2010, but due to light usage mostly in dry days, i ignored this problem. i feel car is unsafe to drive in rain or snow due to poorly designed wiper arms or wiper assembly. i have only driven 54,000 miles since 2010.
I was driving down i45 at about 70mph when i heard a really loud pop. confused, i was looking in all my mirrors trying to find out what happened, as i knew i didn't hit anything or feel anything. i hear loud wind noises, and open my sunroof shade to find 90 % of my sunroof had exploded up and out onto the freeway. nothing hit my sunroof. i wasn't driving behind anyone for at least a 1/4 mile. i didn't drive under an overpass. i was in the far right late, so nothing came from the other side. it just exploded. the glass remaining was angled outward, not inside my car. i have done my research. this is a recurring problem and needs to be addressed. the honda of spring dealership will not cover it under my warranty. this is a defect/manufacturing problem. the service manager even told me this isn't the first time he's seen it.... and you dont think its a problem?
The front windshield easily gets chipped and cracked from kicked up debris from other vehicles. driving, i have received 3 cracks in my windshield that have splintered badly. these incidents happen during driving on a paved road that has 2 lanes going the same direction. debris was kicked up from other vehicles driving in front of me. i have owned many cars in the past and have never had a problem of this magnitude.
In 2012 i purchased a 2010 honda civic ex coupe. i started having issues with the sun visors breaking. at first my warranty covered the cost and then out of pocket expense of $150.00 each time i had to replace. the issue is the safety of not being able to see in the sun light or the evening, due to the broken sun visors dangling in my line of sight. enclosed are pictures of the broken sun visors pass and present. i will have to be replacing the drivers side once again for my safety, due to the sharp pointy object by my head where the sun visor was attached to. i did call honda corp and report the issue only again and the safety issue of the point object by my head. i took my honda to the service department and they would have to replace the whole sun visor. both the service person and mechanic had to careful place themselves in my honda to ensure they did not poke the head on the sharp pointy object.
Ac expansion valve failed prematurely (before 50,000 mi) but outside of factory warranty. causes ac to be inoperative and windows to fog up and impair visibility, especially in very humid weather. it is also a safety issue since ambient temperatures in tx and the south can easily reach 100+ before any effects of the sun or humidity.
Takata recall hi i am having several issues with the ignition not wanting to turn for several moments after putting the key inside to start my 2007 honda xivic lx sedan and then all of a sudden the lights and power to the doors and windows work but car won't roll over to start. the car has been flashing a wrench like bar along with what looks like shape of the motor for 2 months as well ad i've just had an oil change done 4 days ago but yet it still reads oil life 5% b1 on the dash which won't clear nothing was wrong with spark plus or anything else under hood from valvoline's stand point when checked other than wipers don't never want to shut off as well. thank you and regards [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tt
