Problems with 2012 Honda Civic AIR BAGS

Tl* the contact called on behalf of her mom who owned a 2012 honda civic. the contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle was involved in a chain reaction accident. the contact stated that the the driver and passenger frontal air bags failed to deploy. additionally, the seat belts for the driver, passenger, and rear seat passenger failed to operate as intended. the driver and front seat passengers sustained injuries to the head, chest, back, and shoulders while the rear seat passenger sustained abrasions to the face from the back panel of the front passenger's seat. medical attention was sought by each vehicle occupant. a fourth passenger in the vehicle was not injured. the contact stated that approximately four other passengers from the other vehicles involved in the crash also sustained injuries and medical attention was also sought. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a tow and recovery facility. the vehicle was not inspected or diagnosed. neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were contacted or notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 136,000. the vehicle was destroyed.

The side curtain airbag on the passenger deployed when the car slightly grazed a snowbank. there wasn't an "impact" between the car and the snowbank. the car speed was less than 10 mph turning a corner on a residential street. there was absolutely no damage at all to the car. not a nick or a scratch. the dirt didn't even move on the car. there was no reason for the airbag to deploy.

Driver airbag alert light on all the time the passenger air bag light goes off and on all the time

My airbag lights literally go on and off multiple times while i'm driving. i am not sure what brand air bags are in my car, they could be the takata recalled part, but not sure. whenever i have something in the front seat, or a person is sitting in the front seat the airbag lights on the dash come on. they will come on and go off while i am driving. this happens on the street, highway, anytime.

Passenger airbag never detects when my son or another preteen close to his age is sitting in the seat. it always turns off/ deactivates. if there was an accident the airbag would not deploy and provide safety for my child or his cousins when inside my vehicle.

Takata recall my passenger side airbag light is on

There is a hole in rear passenger side air bag. brought this up to honda and they don't seem to think it's an issue i don't think i wanna find out if it will be an issue this hole was not there before and it just happened thru no fault of our own. honda telling me to fix it on my own

Takata recall. my vehicle was in motion, going straight and someone pulled out in front of me. my car was impacted on the front, hitting the other driver on the drivers side of the car. my airbag deployed and i suffered severe burns to my wrists and biceps.

On april 1, 2019 i was involved in a collision at an intersection on city streets and the airbag in steering wheel did not deploy however the passenger side curtain airbag did deploy. the impact was front and passenger side of vehicle. i hit the steering wheel with force and now the steering wheel does not lock in place and i am ha ing a lot of pain in sternum and ribs. shouldn't the driver airbag have deployed? the car is probably totaled. i am waiting for insurance adjuster to inspect it.

Vehicle check air bag system light keeps coming on and i am afraid it would not deploy in the event of an accident.

For quite a few thousand miles the passenger airbag light comes on when a person or bag is in te seat. it's comes on and off, it is very unaettling

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 honda civic. while driving 20 mph, the check engine and air bag warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to gwinnett place honda (3325 satellite blvd, duluth, ga 30096, (678) 274-6206) where it was diagnosed that the transmission sensor needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 151,312.

On oct. 24 and 25, 2018, a message "airbag system" suddenly appeared on my dashboard. on oct. 25, 2018, i took the car to robertson honda were they determined there was something wrong with the airbag system. i was asked if my car was ever involved in an accident and i said no. he informed me that i would have to pay for fixing the problem because the warranty had already expired. when i protested, he said he would check with his supervisor and when he came back he said they would fix the problem but i would have to pay $90.00. i didn't tamper with the airbag system so honda should absorb the costs,. i called honda corporate office and was told that because my car was not on the list of recall, and the warranty had already expired, i would have to pay the said amount. are they right?

Out of blue airbag of my honda civic deployed while i was driving my car 25 mph. and airbag suddenly popped out.

While driving , or once i turn the car on the check airbag words comes up on the dashboard, it comes up out of the blue. this also happened to the last honda civic i owned. i took it to the dealer and they stated they couldn't find anything wrong.

Front end collision. 30 mph. ran into stopped car ahead. airbag did not deploy.

Car in front of me slammed on brakes suddenly and i collided with the rear of other car in a forward motion. the airbag was deployed and my wrist was broken.the airbag deployed with such force that the windshield was shattered. the inside of the car was smokey from the chemicals of the airbag, i had wheezing for 2 days following accident.

The airbag sign keeps popping on when i am driving. then i will have to have my children lean to their left away from the doors in order for the airbag sing to go off. after a few minutes the airbag off sign will pop on. this happens frequently. the sign will pop on while i'm at a light, or driving on the highway, city streets, or turning.

My 2012 honda civic is having problems withe the airgags. the lights are coming out saying that theirs a problem with the airbags. i haven't seen any recall for airbags but i wana know whats the next step to do.

The air bag light turn on for no reason and passages air bag never activates. i took my car with a mechanic and the diagnostic was there's something wrong with air bag and seat belt.

The passenger side airbag sign keeps coming out to tell the driver the airbag is disabled sometimes when there is a person who sits on the passenger side of the vehicle. also received a recall of months ago but the dealer keeps saying everything is fine no recall on the list. it happened since the day i purchased in 2012 and it happens very often recently.

Takata recall ....i received a noticed in the mail about this recall and i looked into it. low and behold my vin# was one of the ones that was tied to the takata recall. if there is anything wrong with my vehicle in anyway i would like for it to be corrected before the problem gets out of hand.

We bought the car,we been driving it normally and the airbag light comes on every time we start the car for the past week

Takata recall, the airbags turn off when going downhill on a street and highway when trying to use the brakes and while not using the brake. this happens when the car is in motion. this continues to occur and has happened more then once.

Takata recall - my passenger airbag always turns off and gives me an error of the passenger air bag "off" indicator... whether an adult or teen over 65 lbs is sitting in the front passenger seat. this is dangerous and i didn't have money to check this issue out with honda. they always do something crazy to my car and break something. afraid i'll have to pay more money to get something checked out and i'll have to pay more money. this light goes on several times so i cannot give a specific date. i remember it occurring on thanksgiving day 2017 and it's occurred in december 2017.

Upon occasion, this message appears on the alert panel passenger side side airbag failed (yes the word side appears twice) it does not stay on long - usually when i restart the car it goes away. i have not taken a picture of the alert. i have asked a service rep (non honda) about it when i have taken it in for service. they could not find anything. the alert does stay on when the vehicle is put in motion. the date i entered below for when it last occurred is an estimate

I was in an accident. thy front of thy car was crushed. my car is deemed a loss and total . the airbags never went off .i was driving an struck a buck killing him instantly. i was wearing my seat belt and have suffered a concussion from the accident.

Every so often the airbag messege on my car come sup. it says that the passenger airback is not working or disabled. some days these is prompted on my cars dash boards. on same days it does not show up

Takata recall: airbags deployed as car was parked in my drive way with a soft touch/contact to a trash bin. car was not moving at a speed of no more than 3 miles per hour! at the same time the seat belt it locked in an extended position. there most definitely is a defect in this air bag at no explainable manner can this be justified at a reason to have an airbag deploy at less than 5 mile per hour!

The vehicle display a message stating, "passenger side airbags off" both at rest and in motion. the message appears and remains on for a few seconds and then disappears. the honda service team is unable to identify a failure as they feel it is working as designed. if a person moves while seated in the passenger seat, this message appears. per a honda representative, this is a user error as they expect a person will sit entirely still for the whole ride. any movement can cause that message to appear.

Takata recall air bag light continues to turn on and off when someone puts on a seat belt or sits in the back seat

Takata recall. i purchased my car in 2015. shortly after that the passenger airbag warning was on constantly. about a year ago the airbag warning came on for the driver side as well. (this is the date listed below) my car is warning me that i have no airbags. i've received "recall notices" in the mail and have called honda a number of times concerning the recall. they said my car is not part of the recall. my car seems to be telling me a different story. it's too coincidental when other honda civics are having this problem and are part of a recall. please check this out for me. if i ever get hurt in an accident due to "faulty" airbags i (or my family) will not just be writing and calling honda about this. please let me know. thank you.

Passenger side air bag turns off giving large trouble lights on dash happens weekly

My check air bag light has been on and off again for months. after several visits to the dealer they determined the inflator is the issue and i need to pay for it as it is not affected by the recall. i completely disagree with this and feel it is impacted by the recall.

Driving on a rural highway and hit a deer. impact bent the bracket that holds the airbag sensor completely backwards and into the sensor itself, which cracked. airbag never deployed. now, post repair, airbag warning and light are on constantly.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 honda civic. the contact observed that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the computer module needed to be updated. the vehicle was repaired. the contact mentioned that the air bag warning indicator illuminated again after the repair. the vehicle was taken to the dealer again where it was diagnosed that the entire air bag system needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that they needed 24 hours to review and would contact the consumer back. the failure mileage was 25,000.

Takata recall. i got into a minor accident where i hit someone from the back with no damage to my or their vehicle however my airbag came out.

I understand that my car has an airbag recall, but never even was notified by anyone, and just found out about a class action law suite, need to know if i will ever get notified about it and will they be fixed ?

It was around 30000 miles when the "check airbag system" starts flashing every now and then. sometimes it tells me the passenger airbag is off. i don't know why and my car never got into any kind of accident nor a crash. it just keeps on blinking fluke every 2 minutes and it's really annoying. this happens every time and it doesn't matter if im moving or not.
