Passenger airbag replaced from recall and driver side air bag not replaced is not in recall. the show marketplace on cbs did a segment on dealership ripoffs and came across the air bag(s) issue on a 2008 honda civic. (takata) is the company for said airbags. same make and model as mine.has metal shards need to be replaced was not recalled. this is a safety concern and should be addressed while the recall is out. these airbags can go off at anytime while driving or sitting
Takata recall after numerous mailings from honda encouraging me to have my defective airbag replaced, i finally called their service hotline in march 2019. i emphasized the need to obtain a "free loaner vehicle" as boldly advertised in their mailing, and how my schedule would not allow me to have the repair done without such accommodations. i was told i would receive a return phonecall the next day from turnersville honda to schedule my appointment. two weeks went by without a return call, so i contacted turnersville honda myself to schedule an appointment. after ~15minutes on the phone, the service rep informed me that they "do not offer loaner vehicles" despite what was stated in the advertisement. i then contacted american honda's corporate office to see if they could assist in fulfilling their promised accommodations. despite an additional 3 months and a dozen phonecalls and promises for assistance, i am still no closer to having this defect repaired. my case number in this matter is 09466794. as working parents with a full schedule, two small children, and two older parents battling cancer, we simply cannot deal with these ...
My car was in the dealership for a recall repair and every since then the srs light seems to come on. the srs light first came on when i had a passenger in the passenger side getting out from the car exiting it the car the car is a 2010 with 35000 miles it's a one owner car never in an accident and repaired always at the dealer all service history. the only person that's mess with this system is the dealer who's tried to repair and get the light off srs light and still is not fixed wanting me to pay almost $1,800

I went in to have the recall repaired done for airbags. days later my airbag light came on i notified honda and was told i had to pay for an inspection. the light comes and goes. i have never had an issue prior to them supposedly fixing a recall now my airbag will not stay off. they claim it has nothing to do with the recall repair but i find that hard to believe. this was never an issue before they fooled with my car. this is a major safety concern i have two small children and i can't allow something to happen to them driving in an unsafe vehicle
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 honda civic. while driving approximately 25-30 mph through an intersection, a large truck crashed into the front driver's side fender of the contact's vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. prior to the collision, there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact stated that she did not seek medical attention, but was disabled due to back and neck injuries prior to the collision. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for the air bag deployment failure. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the contact received letters from tk holdings, alerting her that the air bag manufacturer filed for bankruptcy. two months prior to the collision, the vehicle was taken to honda of grays harbor (1720 simpson ave, aberdeen, wa 98520, (360) 532-5833). the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in the takata air bag recall. the failure mileage was approximately 72,000. *tr - (recall related incident) ts
Honda finally replaced the passenger side takata airbag on 1/18/2018 but not the driver's side? i have been hit in the rear by 2 cars since buying this car in 2010. no airbag inflated but every time i drive this car i am terrified of the airbag situation. why aren't they replacing the driver side airbag too? my anxiety grows every time i have to drive somewhere.

Hit a rut, hole, shallow. lights for airbag(near steering front) went off. airbag did not engage. i was doing a u-turn, turning right off highway and then left for u-turn in front of a gas station. why the station had left a hazard for customers to run in to as i did, a turn, i don't understand. loud noise from right front, and before completed my turn. sound came as i was turning.
Takata recall the vehicle was sold to me without airbags. the auto dealer will not take responsibility for the missing airbags. a recall was issued on the airbags for the vehicle and that is when i found out the vehicle was sold to me without them. i called the auto dealer and they said they knew nothing about it. they were supposed to call me back but as of this date, they have not done so. i was sold an unsafe vehicle and the will not take responsibility for it.
Tl* the contact owned a 2010 honda civic. after stopping the vehicle, the contact was rear ended by another vehicle. as a result, the contact struck the preceding vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a salvage yard where it was deemed destroyed. stevenson honda of wilmington (821 s college rd, wilmington, nc) was contacted and referred the contact to nhtsa. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. there was one injury that required medical attention. the contact suffered from swelling, and severe pain. the failure mileage was approximately 148,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 honda civic. while driving 65 mph, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (honda of tenafly, 28 county rd, tenafly, nj 07670) where it was stated that due to the high mileage on the vehicle, the contact had to pay for the repair. the contact agreed to pay for the repair. it was diagnosed that the srs unit, and passenger and driver side air bags needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was contacted at 800-999-1009 and stated that since the vehicle had high mileage, the contact had to pay for the repair. a case number was not provided. the approximate failure mileage was 118,000.
The car spun out of control while proceeding to drive after stopping at the stop sign. the car flipped over and landed upside down with the driver inside. the tamara airbags did not deploy.
