My rear lower control arms need to be be replaced with the correct ones stamped "c". honda dealers in southern california are refusing to correct the mistake at no cost to me. please help!

I've had/having several problems with my 2007 honda civic that i bought brand new. my back tires have worn very unevenly over the years and because of this car eating tires i've replaced tires almost every 2 years. there is also a popping sound when driving when you make a tight turn. i've also had many problems with my a/c. i've had the blower fan stop working and some component relating to it replaced 3 times. my a/c recently stopped blowing cold air after it spit out frozen freon through my vents. mechanic has told me my freon was empty and compressor locked up. now i need to throw money ($1400) at this repair as well!...updated 07/19/16 *bf

There is uneven wear on my tires which has caused large vibrations when driving on the highway and very dangerous handling in slippery conditions. i just replaced my tires, which the previous owner (i bought it from him in october 2014) stated were almost new at purchase time. the inner edge of each tire was worn down. i also brought the car in for alignment today and found that the rear camber is negative 2.5 degrees on both sides, but that camber is not adjustable. this camber issue, plus regular tire rotations, almost certainly caused the inner edge wear on each tire. apparently this is a known issue with honda civics of the 06-08 era (see 2008 service bulletin, attached), but honda is no longer performing fixes, and the fix did not necessarily rectify the tire wear issue. i have brand new tires today, but i expect that they will also wear out long before the 60,000 mile warranty expires... it seems that my last tires lasted only about 25k before the car felt unsafe to drive.

i am constantly having to buy new tires for this car, like at least 2 tires a year. they wear down unevenly and in order to pass inspection i'm constantly having to rotate and buy new ones. i'm not made of money and tires are expensive. i'm a stay at home mom, so i'm not even out driving daily or going on long road trips.

Went to my local honda dealer because of heavy vibration while driving. dealership informed me that i needed to replace my rear control upper arm because my tires were cupping badly. i have already replaced tires yearly because of uneven wear. i called corporate honda, since i am out of warranty they will not reimburse with parts and labor despite 2013 settlement regarding this matter. it is a safety issue regarding tire suspension and honda is turning a blind eye.. *tr

Had a flat tire that would not hold air, so attempted to put on the spare tire that was purchased new with the vehicle (by me) at nalley honda of union city, ga. it was the wrong size spare tire. the lug pattern would not fit. it was a 16" spare instead of the 15" that my car calls for. the dealership would not swap it out for the right size spare tire, even though it was the first time out of my trunk (2007 car, and 2007 date coded spare). luckily, the flat happened in my driveway instead of my daughter being stranded on the interstate. *tr

I was driving down the road carefully because i take this road almost everyday. this road has been damaged for a long time now and hasn't been fixed yet. all of a sudden my car hits a huge pot hole, it couldn't have been seen due to how dark this road is at night. both wheels on the left side popped and my front windshield crack in the middle due to the hard impact. *tr

The paint on the roof of my car is hazing and the clear coat is peeling. the hood of my car also has white spots. honda garage in moon twp., pa will only pay half of the cost to paint the roof of my car. they said there was a "goodwill recall" that ended in sept 2014, but i never received this. *tr

Original rear upper control arms (oem) need to be replaced due to known camber misalignment from factory. this well-known issue from honda (on 2006 - 2009 civics) causes uneven wear and shortens the lifetime of tires. the only option available to bring the alignment specs (camber) back into a safe range is to replace the upper control arms and tires. *tr

Rear tires wear bad on the inside. *tr

Tires have worn unevenly due to rear balance arm/ strut assembly issue which have caused the wheel assembly to canter and be toed in, which in turn has also damaged the suspension/springs. car now leans to driver side in the rear. car has had 4 sets of tires and has less than 90,000 miles. due to uneven tire wear the car is extremely loud (ear damaging loud) and vibrates (shimmies) at speeds above 40mph. we were told by a honda dealership that only an after market adjustable balance arm will correct the problem. american honda refuses to take any accountability. *tr

I am having premature tire wear due to a faulty rear control arm. please help! my car hydroplanes and the vibration on the steering wheel is horrible on the highway. *tr

I just had to replace the tires for the second time on this car. the car is expiring uneven tire wear. this does effect braking of the car as well. honda has admitted that the rear control arm is to short effecting suspension and tire wear. this is dangerous because the visible part of my tire looked fine, plenty of tread and about 38000 on a 90000 mile tire. the inside of the tire was so worn it actually had a hole worn in it. this wear issue could cause a tire to fail while traveling at a high rate of speed. please help the owners of these vehicles get a recall from honda before someone is hurt. *tr

I bought this car 08/31/13 and began hearing a noise coming from the rear wheels and now i'm surprised to know that there was a recall regarding the wheel bearings. i think my car wasn't properly fixed. please help. *tr

Elderly mother drives this car. she drives slow and knows very little about cars. i borrowed her car to find it vibrating excessively from the rear with loud tire noise from the rear as well. found scalloped rear tires in poor, dangerous condition. replaced tires thinking they were faulty tires. problem recurred only several months later. replaced tires again, different brand and had the rear suspension worked on per honda service bulletin. problem keeps happening over and over and we must keep replacing the tires. i'm tired of seeing my mom being taken advantage of and continuously spending money on problems that should not be happening. i'm scared this is going to cause someone to get hurt. if the tires blow out, my mother might lose control. yes, this "will" cause me to file a lawsuit on honda because this is a well documented problem on these cars and i have had multiple mechanics tell me so. we could sell the car but then someone else might be in danger of blow outs. honda should make it right...at their cost.... before someone gets killed. *tr

Excessive noise from rear end of vehicle unrelated to normal higher noise from all season tires. the noise is so bad that passengers cannot converse in the car with the windows closed. excessive unusual wear on tires requiring frequent replacement. honda put out a service bulletin 08-001 feb 5, 2009 about this problem but has not issued a recall. i think that honda should do a recall or offer to pay something toward the corrective action they mention in their service bulletin. a rear upper control arm kit, new tires, alignment and labor charges are needed to be done and parts will need to be shipped to me from the us so i can have the repairs done where i am stationed here in germany. i'm frightened to take the care out on the autobahn. thanks. *tr

I have had my vehicle for 2 years now. in that time i have put only 20000 miles on the vehicle. i have had to replace my tires twice already on the vehicle due to uneven wear on the tires. the camber of the tires is affected by the rear control arms. this also caused the rear suspension to wear, which i have already had to replace on the vehicle. when breaking my steering wheel shakes affecting my steering. this is caused by the uneven inner tire wear on this vehicle. i am concerned for the safety on this vehicle and i believe other similar vehicles might have the same issue. it is also become a quite expensive problem for me to have to deal with on this vehicle. to whom it may concern, thank you! *tr

Rear tires have abnormal wear which is causing vibration and noise due to a faulty rear control arm. this may cause safety problems. *tr

The rear wheels had excessive and uneven tire wear on the inside of both tires, because of the rear upper control arm being too short, causing the camber to be out. this in turn, caused misalignment and excessive tire wear. i had no warning of how fast my tires were wearing out, and they almost wore to the steel belt, which could have caused an accident. i regularly service my honda civic at the honda dealer for each oil change and inspection, but was not notified of any problems at the last service appointment. i believe this is a known manufacturer problem, that needs to be addressed and recalled to be fixed. *tr

Wheel bearing type noise coming from rear wheels. after pulling to side of road and checking things out, i noticed extreme tire wear on inside portion of road tread on both rear wheels. *tr

While driving heard loud humming noise and the ride was rough. brought vehicle to honda dealership in burlington. they said the tires were badly cupped. needed to replace tires and get an alignment. brought vehicle for a second opinion. mechanic told me honda had technical bulletin in 2008 for uneven wear in rear tires. the rear camber assembly needed to be replaced. cost $250. honda won't pay for it even though they were aware of the problem and never said anything. add four new tires and wheel alignment and your looking close to $1000. if you don't get it fixed the tires will wear down regardless if you get tire rotations and blow out. luckily no one has dies from this but this shouldn't be the reason for not having a recall. look at the blogs, etc. honda just tells everyone to replace tires and get an alignment. people do and keep coming back to replace tires. honda has hid from this problem. i haven't replaced my tires but if i listened to honda i would have replaced tires and been back again in 20,000-30,000 miles to replace tires. i should not have to pay for a serious problem that honda hid from it's owners. please help. *tr

Excessive rear tire noise and wear. i have been informed there is a service bulletin on my rear upper control arms - they are not marked with a "c". (but see conditions under which i was informed, below.) i am having the new control arms installed on 9/2/12. (i had new rear tires put on, and an alignment performed, 8/28/12.) i spent approximately $500 on the tires/alignment. the estimate for the new control arms is approximately $350. i don't understand why i have to pay for this repair. i've noticed there are multiple complaints about excessive rear tire noise and wear (and subsequent need for rear upper control arm replacement) on honda civics of this vintage (2007). why is this only being treated as a "service bulletin" rather than a "recall". by the way, i wouldn't have even known about the problem if my husband wasn't concerned that the noise was a wheel bearing that was failing. i took it to honda to have them check out the wheel bearing and they blamed the noise on a broken tire belt. when i got home from the dealer i noticed the information on my invoice about the "service bulletin". they hadn't even mentioned it to me themselves! i have been a loyal honda driver for approximately 15 years. as a result of this issue, plus other things about the civic i'm just not crazy about, i will never again buy a honda product! *tr

The rear tires wear out unevenly due to defective rear control arms. *tr

Rear tires are cupping and they've become very noisy after 5,000 miles. problem first noticed: november 2011. the rear tires were always slippery in tight curves at normal speed. went to route 23 honda, nj for a check up on 02/16/12. they blamed my new tires (10000 miles old). charged me $96.25 for a 4 wheel alignment, no problem found with the rear wheels. i have asked them about service bulletin 08-001 (uneven or rapid rear tire wear) but they did not admit any fault. they've said my car does not need a repair as per sb 08-001 mentioned above. i have contacted (opened account with) american honda motor co. they did not call back. *tr

Uneven tire wear. honda won't replace the bad control arms because i put on snow tires and they said that voids any warranty i would have, i've gone through several sets of tires now. steering wheel shakes badly anytime i go over 50 mph. brakes have issues. the car is unsafe and honda won't do anything about it. *tr

Excessive and uneven tire wear....cupping. honda will not do anything since the car is out of warranty even though they issued a service bulletin regarding the rear control arms being faulty. *tr

Since i got my car with 62,000 miles every time i take it to get oil changes every 3 months the tell me the control arms are bad and causing uneven wear on the tire tread... i get new tires and it only last so long before the car starts to shake because of the uneven wear not even going at a high speed... it makes it harder to stop due to the shaking which scares me when i have to stop suddenly due to other drivers or something in the road.. *tr

Approximately a week after buying lifetime alignment and 4 new bridgestone potenza tires in july 2011 at firestone, el paso, tx, my car started to vibrate in the road while driving at speeds 50mph through 60mph. after many research and diagnosis from honda parts and service shop, different firestone locations and local mechanics, the conclusion is that the upper/rear control arms, front and rear camber arm and bolts are defective as per honda manufacturers. my tires are excessively and unevenly wearing. i have already bought 6 sets of new tires in the last 12 months because of this honda issue, which they admit it is a defect made by the manufacturers. they released a service bulletin (service bulletin 08-001 dated april 11, 2008) that informs honda dealer shop of this issue/defect, but they refuse to take responsibility of repairing it free of charge. i believe that it is not fair that customers buying hondas have to pay for defective parts made by the manufacturers. i would like these defect to be solved and paid by them and i would like refund for at least the last set of tires that i recently bought and are already unevenly worn out (this makes it a useless tire). in case it is needed i have all the paper work that can be a clear evidence to this complaint. like me, there are other honda owners with the same issue. *tr

Driving into the parking log going around 7 mph the support arm for the rear right wheel shock/suspension snapped in the middle and my wheel was basically dragging for around 20 feet so i could park and wait for the tow truck. this car is used as a commute car since i live in the country i drive around 70 miles a day combined mostly at 70 mph on cruise control on decent highways. i don't jump off ramps or drive crazy this is clearly poor manufacturing, workmanship, or design. i'm glad it happened when i was parking and not on the highway.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 honda civic. while having the tires replaced by an authorized dealer the contact was told that rear passenger side wheel hub needed to be replaced. the contact was also told that the failure caused excessive tread wear on the tires. the vehicle was repaired. the failure and current mileages were unknown. the vin was unavailable.

I have less than 65,000 miles on my car. it has received regular scheduled maintenance from the honda dealership. after replacing the 4 original michelin tires @ 38,000 miles i have had to replace the rear tires 3 additional times. the car has an extremely loud "humming" noise coming from the rear end. it eats up the rear tires quickly, which cause the car to mishandle. each new set of rear tires wears out more quickly than the previous ones. i just bought the 4th new set of rear tires on 12/18/2011, drove down to the los angeles area from sacramento. when i returned, i went to the tire store where i purchased the new tires, to gage/check out any possible wear that may have occurred on the trip. at less than 1000 miles (850 of these being highway miles), the new rear tires were already down to 8/32. the humming noise is so loud you can not have a normal conversation in the car, or hear a siren for that matter and the steering appears to be/feel loose. i am afraid to drive this car any short/long distance. *tr

My 2007 honda civic wear out rear tires extremely fast, causing loud vibrations and safety concerns. *tr

My 2007 honda civic began having a loud sound coming from the drivers rear wheel. upon looking on the internet i found a safety recall notice from honda - service bulletin # 07-055 for rear abs wheel speed sensor and o-ring inspection. it stated that some sensors were not installed properly and water may enter the hub assembly damaging the wheel bearings. in areas where road salt is used, the wheel bearings may corrode, which may result in the wheel falling off. i live in an area where road salt is used. my vehicle vin number was listed within the range of potentially effected vehicles on the recall, but i never received a recall notice. i contacted honda customer service, explained that my car has the wheel bearing issue as stated in the recall. they stated that my vehicle was not effected and only certain vehicles in the notice were effected, not all vins listed. they stated my vehicle would not be covered under the recall even if my vehicle has the defect. i took my vehicle to a service repair center which confirmed that my rear wheel bearing was bad and corroded. the car is only 3 years old and this should not have occurred. i had the exact problem as stated in the recall and feel that honda should expand the recall to include all the vehicles they have listed in the recall notice. it's obvious more vehicles are effected than they thought. if they list a range of vin numbers than they should check all on the list, not just pick and choose which ones they think might have the problem. *tr

When i originally purchased this vehicle at $14,000 miles i immediately started to hear noise from the tires at highway speed but it wasn't until my failed inspection that i noticed the severity of the uneven wear/ear on mainly the back tires. due to a control arm recall, i went to honda in order to get this fixed and purchased my own tires at the time since they wouldn't cover it. unfortunately, about 19,000 miles later, again my inspection failed due to the tires. i had replaced it again but at this time honda would not do anything and told me that it is past the warranty point and if i bring it in and they find that there's something wrong, i would have to pay for it as its not covered under my general warranty. i don't get this because clearly it is a manufactures recall and i shouldn't have to pay for this plus my tires every 19,000 miles. i purposely chose to buy a honda because they are known to be economical and reliable. none of which my '07 honda civic ex has been. i tried taking it out with new tires during the snow; biggest mistake. even driving in the rain is a hazard. this should be a huge warning for those who are in the market for a honda civic. these cars are not worth the price if the tires are not reliable. tires are an important sector of a car. this is really disappointing and i would not think twice about taking this matter to court. *tr

The rear suspension and the rear upper control arm cause excessive and premature wear on tires requiring replacement of premium tires after only 20,000 miles or less. my car has about 80k miles and is in need of its 4th set of tires. needles to say the wear create unsafe conditions while driving faster than 50mph making driving on the interstate a risky endeavor. *tr

Front left wheel bearing and left rear wheel bearing need to be replaced after 80,000 miles on these 2007 honda civics. *tr

I have a 2007 honda civic lx. today i took it to meinike to get my oil change and tires rotated. there was no tread left on the inner tires. i've rotated my tires every 6k miles and now i'm at 28k miles. the mechanic said i don't even know how you made it here. he didn't want to put them back on because their worn to the core. there is also no tread left. i didn't even know, but when i did a google search i found there was a recall on it. honda said they wouldn't pay to have the tires fixed from their defect. *tr

Rapid tire wear occurred on the inner portions of both rear tires. the problem was discovered after noticing much road noise and having the tires rotated. two new tires were purchased and the rear upper control arms were replaced. the problem still exists to this day after consulting two different honda garages they both confirmed that the rear control arms were installed correctly and are within spec. both garages recommended replacing the tires again, but this is becoming very costly. the ride of the car over the last year has gotten significantly worse and now i'm noticing braking problems. the car hops in the back when applying the brakes at highway speeds. honda is denying the problem and has offered no compensation. *tr

Both of my rear wheel bearings failed on my 2007 honda civic. *tr

I have to replace the tires every 30000 miles due to uneven tire wear. i guess there is a known problem with a faulty rear arms that honda keeps ignoring after so many complaints. sure way to lose customers when you pride your self in quality but not delivering. *tr

I purchased a slightly used civic from a dealer in january of 2009 and began to drive it on icy roads in ontario winter. my wife who usually drives the car complained she was scared to drive it if there was any ice on the road surface because the car would suddenly shift position sideways in the lane. i found the rear tires worn out very fast on the inside of both wheels. i did some research and found out honda had issued a service bulletin to replace the rear upper struts with a longer unit. the dealer did not disclose this information when i bought the car but after i brought it up volunteered to replace them and negotiated with me for half the replacement cost of the tires. i thought this would solve the problem. the next set of rear tires also wore prematurely on the inside in about 25000 miles. when i called the honda dealer he told me i needed an alignment. i paid for an alignment at an independent garage and was told the real wheels could not b adjusted to correct the negative camber. i went back to the dealer who told me that honda did not recognize this defect and the warranty would not cover any remedy. he did a free realignment for me with difficulty and said to rotate my tires more often. i tried that and my next set of tires wore out on the inside just the same. the dealer did say there was an aftermarket part that may correct the problem but i would have to pay for the installation ($600). i have about 180000 kilometers on the vehicle.the vehicle makes rear noise and the vibration cannot be good for the vehicle. this could be a safety issue. *tr

I am on my 3rd set of tires on a car that has 58,000 miles. research shows that this is a common problem on honda civics for 2006-2007. there seems to be a problem/defect in the design of the car and honda is not standing behind their product. we need help. *tr

Honda civi 2007 lx coupe; noise coming from wheels/tires. took to dealer they said tires. went to tire dealer, they said not tires but rims. noise gets really bad around 70. this has been ongoing for a few months. getting expensive, frustrated. *tr

Small vibration heard in the rear of the car. took car in for routine maintenance, told them of sound coming from the rear of car. they informed us that there was a service bulletin on the car, advising them to replace the upper control arms and tires. parts were on back order. reported on 5/22, today is 6/9, part still not replaced. honda refusing to replace tires, even though defective part caused rear tire to ware unevenly and rapidly. fear this is a safety issue and am concerned about driving on the highway. *tr

Rear tire wear to the belts. no adjustment of camber possible. owner has no way to prevent this dangerous and expensive wear. these vehicle should all be recalled and rear camber adjustable components installed regardless of vehicle miles. wear happens very quickly and is not shown at all on the front tires which have a fully adjustable suspension. *tr

Car rear end moves from side to side in adverse conditions such as ice and snow even driving at what should be a safe speed. even on dry tar or concrete i notice something is not right. the tires wear unevenly on the rear. the 1st time i brought the car in on 12-13-07 at 5,622 miles the rear tires were shot and honda blamed it on me. bulletin # 08-011 (rear upper control arm kit) was performed on 1-24-08 and seemed to help some. that didn't solve the problem because on 2-12-09 at 14,489 miles the tires were shot. after that tire replacement the car was aligned all around and so i thought maybe that would solve the problem. since then i still noticed the rear end was still unstable and went in several times to get the problem resolved and each time they either blamed it on me or said there was no problem. then on 1-12-2011 at 38,359 miles and another week at the honda shop i come to find out the tires are again worn badly on both rear inside edges. the only offer honda cooperation has made is to replace the tires with them only paying some of the cost but no permanent solution. the 3rd set of tires i put on were the best cooper tires and still had the problem so i know replacing the tires again will not solve the problem. i and my family feel unsafe in this car especially under certain conditions. more important to me then anything is the safety of my family and i hope honda will understand this and find a permanent solution before an accident happens at a result of this. honda suggested trading the car in for something else but i can not pass this safety hazard on to another person and feel good about it.

I have purchased, in the last 5 years, 5 different sets of tires because of cupping' of my rear tires due to a defect in the rear suspension. i was told on 2 occasions by 2 different honda dealers that the problem in my rear suspension had been solved. the last service was 10 months ago; i purchased my fifth set of tires and now have to replace them again. *tr

Had a flat tire two times when our car touched the curb. the car was traveling below 10 mph when the tire touched the curb. both the times the edge of alloy wheels of my honda civic cut through the tire exactly at the point of the pressure. this happened twice. we also have a honda accord and this happened a few times but never had a flat tire. the wheels are stock wheels and edges of the wheels are not curved out as most of the vehicles have them. since the edges are not curved out the weight of the car along with the uncurved edges causes the tire to be cut. *tr
