Tl*the contact owns a 2006 honda civic. the driver's side air bag deployed when the drivers door was closed. the air bag light was illuminated after the air bag deployed. the dealer stated code f311 indicated left side deployment and the vehicle doesn't appear to have any body damage. the dealer also stated that there was no warranty for the failure and to request assistance from the insurance company. the vehicle is currently at the repair shop. the insurance company agreed to assist her with the repairs. the failure mileage was 21985 and the current mileage was 25000. rk
Approx in the month of december 2006 my airbag light came on. i brought the car to the dealer to inspect the defect. was notified everything was normal and when i left the dealer the light was no longer on. on july 21, 2007 the passenger side airbag deployed while closing the passenger door, the vehicle was not running. the curtain and seat both deployed. followed up with an appointment at pompano honda. service manager informed me it should be covered by american honda due to safety issues. the rep came into the dealer to inspect the vehicle and denied the claim. he said that the deployment was due to impact in on my bumper which previously happened a year prior to the deployment. i since then have had to pay $1500.00 to cover the repair. i feel as if this should have been covered through american honda as a safety issue defect. i am referring to you for possible assistance in reviewing this issue on my behalf. honda would not allow me access to my service file and photographs the rep took of my vehicle, which denied my claim. pompano honda told me the photographs were property of honda. i have taken pictures on the alleged bumper damage which they contend created the deployment. please contact me for further assistance. *tr
I was pulling away from the curb in front of my house. after moving about 1.5 feet, the passenger side air bag deployed breaking the front windshield. about 10 seconds later, the driver side airbag deployed. the sequence repeated about every 10 seconds with the deployment of both side curtain air bags. finally, after about a 2 minute pause, the airbag contained in the rear of the passenger seat deployed. the airbag contained within the back of the driver's seat did not deploy. *tr

My honda civic (2 door ex) was struck head-on by another vehicle, and none of my airbags deployed upon impact. my injuries included: injured teeth, neck, left knee, left elbow, right knee, and back. *tr
My 2006 honda civic was involved in a head-on collision and none of the airbags deployed. the front of the car was completely damaged. the front impact absorbing reinforcement bar had collapsed. i was traveling between 20-30 kilometers per hour in snowy conditions. *jb
Tl* - the contact owns a 2006 honda civic coupe . while driving at 60 mph the contact's vehicle crashed into the rear of a vehicle in the emergency lane. neither the driver's front nor the passenger's front air bags deployed. however, the passenger's side air bag did deploy. *ak
My son got out of a friends car and slammed the door and the side air bags deployed. it's a 2 door 2006 honda civic. honda says there is nothing wrong with the car and it does not fall under warranty. the air bags and headliner are having to be replaced ,but i feel this is a real safety issue. honda kept the old parts. *nm
On november 19th, 2007 i was coming home from work alone in my 2006 honda civic ex on a dirt road. i was not speeding and i was wearing my seatbelt. i chose a different route from my normal route and missed the s curve in the road. my car went to the ditch roughly 3 feet deep on the drivers side, hitting the drivers front, rolling the car one time, landing on the wheels and i put the brakes on, put the car in park and turned off the car. i then got out of the passenger side of the car because the driver side was smashed completely down not allowing me to get out of the car or the window. i could not find my cell phone and went and looked into the field and found where my car rolled and found the phone with the glass from my window. i then called 911 and waited for assistance. i was transported to sidney, ne where after a catscan they found that i had a broken neck in 2 places c6 and c7. they then transferred me by ambulance to fort collins, colorado where i had surgery to fuse the broken vertebrae. i am now out of work and out of a vehicle for now until i am healed. i called honda worried that none of the airbags went off, one of the reasons i bought this car was because of the safety rating because i wanted my family to be safe in any event of an accident. honda after i called them back 2 times finally told me that (case# n012007-11-2900916) honda does not design their airbags to go off in the event of a rollover. funny how when i did my research 1 out of 4 people are killed in a rollover. why wouldn't that be a safety concern?? so needless to say there is nothing done to fix the situation. *tr
I own a 2006 honda civic. this car is equipted with a complex weight sensor system which arms/disarms the passenger side air bags. when the car left the factory the system was defective. after one round of recall work, the system was still deffective. i do not beleive the company has any clear idea how to make this complex system function in a reliable manner. i want them to fix the system so that the air bags are armed all the time. honda refuses to allow this to be done. my passenger's safety is being compromised because they refuse to turn on the arir bags all the time.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving 25 mph on city streets, the passenger and both side air bags deployed without warning. the contact sustained minor injuries. the vehicle was driven to the dealer who could not determine the cause of the deployment.
Dt*: the contact stated while the vehicle was idling in park, the front passenger door was pulled closed from the inside and pushed closed from the outside at the same time. the side curtain air bag deployed without warning. the service dealer and manufacturer were notified. updated 11/02/06. *jb
The car is a new honda civic lx with less than 650 miles on the odometer. when i am a passenger in the front seat, the airbag system warning indicator light comes on. we took it to the dealer at 400+ miles and was told it was caused by electronic instrument interference - possibly a cell phone. the fault code was cleared and the light went out. however, the problem remains - only when i am a passenger in the front seat the airbag warning light turns on. i am a 6'3" mail and weigh 300 lbs. smaller, lighter people do not seem to cause the warning light to register. i strongly suspect there is a manufacturing defect with an airbag sensor in the front passenger seat. i consider this a major safety defect. *jb
I was in a side impact collision with my 2006 honda civic 4dr sedan and the airbags did not deploy even though we hit a truck. the insurance company labeled the car "completely destroyed." none of the airbags went off. *jb
My daughter's honda civic 2006, air bag did not inflate during an accident. *nm
For some time, a warning notice was on my dashboard saying that the airbag on the passenger front seat of my car was turned off. in jul 2016, i received nhtsa recall 16v-346 saying there was an airbag recall and i shouldn't have passengers sit in the front seat until the recall repair has been performed. the notice said the "remedy parts needed to conduct passenger frontal airbag inflator recalls will become available in late summer/fall of 2016." it's december. i haven't heard from honda saying that parts of available. i checked safecar.gov, which said recall incomplete. remedy not yet available. this is unacceptable. i'm afraid to drive my car.
