2017 honda civic air conditioner compressor has failed and is leaking. the condenser is leaking, which is a known problem and is being covered by honda, however they refuse to cover the compressor even though the leak in the condenser can easily lead to a failure of the compressor.
I have 2 recalls and i need the notification for them gone asap so i can ship my car overseas. the issues stated about the "air bag" and "floor mats" have yet to cause a concern to my driving and or handling ability. i don't have the time to go through these recalls as i am military and need my vehicle shipped but the recalls are whats kicking me back.
My 2016 honda civic touring while driving approx. 60 mph on the interstate in about 60 degree weather while raining. my sunroof exploded the center portion of it which in turn damaged my drunk and if someone was behind me could have had other catastrophic events. nothing hit my car i heard the explosion sounded like a gunshot then seen the big chunk of glass hit my trunk and heard it as well.
Over 12 different times in the past 6 months since i purchased the car it has had serious electrical issues ranging from locking itself with the keyless fob inside the vehicle during a snow storm, all windows including moon roof rolling completely down during a rainstorm when parked or in motion. when parked, the alarm blaring non stop for hours and the battery dying completely without warning or drainage on my part of any kind. all systems on the car shut down completely after loss of power including the braking system and you can dive it that way. it brakes hard on its own on the freeway. there is a usb port in the center console right next to cup holder that can get wet if you have a drink in there. i notice the weather conditions were cloudy, raining, or snowing during the majority of the bigger issues.
My car was broken into while parked in a public parking lot. the 2020 civic has a feature where all windows roll down if you put the key into the driver's door lock and turn it to the right. according to honda of oakland service center, someone used a screwdriver to activate this feature, which in turn rolled the windows down and they were able to access the trunk latch near the driver's seat and steal items from my trunk. they were then able to roll the windows back up using the same feature (turning to the left) and i was not aware that there was a break in until late the next day when i went to retrieve items from the trunk. a related feature is that the key fob allows you to roll down all windows simultaneously by holding down the unlock button. this feature is very sensitive and can be activated in a pocket or purse. i tested out the range of the feature and was able to roll my windows down remotely from over 200 feet away while inside a building when my car was parked outside across the street. i twice ...
I was driving on highway 101 in california in moderate traffic when there was an unexpected slowdown. i braked in time, but the vehicle behind me did not. i was rear-ended and my car was totaled. i was not injured. however, the person in the passenger seat, who was wearing her seat belt, was thrown forward. she struck her head on the dashboard (possibly the grill) and incurred a serious eye injury that required surgery to repair. i am reporting this because although the lap portion of the seat belt restrained her, apparently the shoulder portion did not. the accident is documented in traffic collision report #9360-2020-00053 issued by the california highway patrol, 6100 labath ave., rohnert park, ca. 707-588-1400. the photo i've attached was taken about three days after the accident.
Faulty air conditioner system that has an extended warranty covering the compressor and refrigerant leaks.
I was driving straight down i-20, the only car close to me was behind me and in the other lane. there were no overpasses or potholes. there was a loud noise like a car backfire or gunshot, and i thought i must have blown a tire. i pulled over to the side of the road and discovered my moonroof had shattered - luckily the shield had been closed. honda refused to consider that it might be a defect and said that even if it was, it didn't matter as my car wasn't under warranty. i asked to speak to a manager several times and was refused.
I bought a honda civic 2016. i notice that my front led light maker does not work only left side work and it is about to go out too. sometime it goes on as its please. and air condition does not blow cold air . i hope they recall all these problems..
My 2016 honda civic only has less than 25000 miles, the ac had not working since this summer, after i took the car to schaumburg honda in illionis, they said the condenser is find but compressor has a leak which will cost over $1000 to be fixed. i decided not repair but still was charged $140 for the inspection. totally not acceptable!
