Problems with 2013 Honda Accord UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On average, the 2013 Honda Accord starts to “feel” problems with the UNKNOWN OR OTHER and its various aspects after 59 854 miles.

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2013 Honda Accord

The starter on the 2013 honda accord ex-l sedan began to fail at less than 50k miles. it began with the symptoms of not starting with the first press on the push button ignition, which i was told by honda may just be a fault of my own for not operating the push button system correctly. this turned out to be incorrect as once my warranty expired the car started to require more and most "pushes" to start. eventually i was left stranded and the car would on start at all irrespective of the number of times i tried. while this was not a safety issue where i was stranded, in other situations this could have easily resulted in injury, or in the worst case, the loss of life.

After only 40,000 miles, 2013 v6 accord, car starter giving problem. car didn't start at one point and after many trials, started with jump start after that, started giving jerk like engine stalls during driving. scary and dangerous situation.

I am the first owner of my 2013 honda accord sport and 2 months ago i developed an issue with the starter. i've replaced the starter twice and tonight got stranded and had to call a tow truck to bring it home. i've gone to the honda dealer and, of course, there's an issue with the starter, but it will cost $1000+ to fix! this issue must be investigated and recalled as soon as possible. honda is fully aware of all of these issues and if you get the right technician at the dealership - they'll tell you honda is fully aware, but couldn't care less! 2 starters later - i'm still in the same position!

I have owned my 2013 honda accord since 2013. i have had numerous problems with this model. the most being with the car starting. i have replaced the battery and the starter and am still having problems starting the car. i went online and noticed that this is a huge problem with this model. th car makes a clicking noise as if it is going to start then it doesn't start. all the lights come on and it then begins to start after a couple of minutes have gone by. pushing the button does not get the car to start. you have to push it numerous times to get it to start. this problem has cost me upwards of $700 to $1,000 to replace every time there is an issue. this should be a manufacturers issue as a starter should not be worn out in 3 years. please take a look at this problem as i am sure it will be a lawsuit coming soon based on all the other complaints i have read with this issue. i am taking my car back to the dealer today to have this issue looked at again.

I went to crank my car, which was perfectly fine yesferday , and it wont turn over and there are several lights on and clicking and blinking. i thought it might be the battery and tried to jump it off and nothing changed. a symbol that looks like a steering wheel and exclamation point, low tire light, brake light, and skid control symbols were all on.

2013 accord having issues starting, turn once nothing, i give it a minute then it starts, this is every time i get in my car to drive. i've already had to replace battery. this is embarrassing considering the car is not yet 3 years old!

I parked my car in our home garage after driving 15-20 miles. an hour later, when i tried to take the car out, at ignition it just refused to start. i got many dashboard chattering indicators on but no engine cranking. tried couple of times but same results. checked head lights and found them bright and ok indicating no possible battery issue. then i jump started from our other car parked next to it. it started almost immediately. but the dashboard indicators remained 'on'. i used vehicle setting menu and selected factory default reset. but the indicators remained 'on'. i took the car for a short drive. as soon as i drove some 15-20 feet, the indicators went off. i drove for some time and tried to stop the engine and restart it couple times without any problems. in my case, i was fortunate to have this happened at home garage and not middle of the road. but when i tried to research online about this problem, i found many such similar complaints and some of them were indicating possible 'bad' starter issue which required $800-1000 for the replacement and repairs. my car is around 18 months old with clean records of regular maintenance. the car has logged around 32,400 miles and maintained with care. as a concerned owner, after reading those online complaints and reports, i thought of sharing my issue here and record it too. i see there are enough similar complaints to arrive at there could be a faulty component (may be starter or something else, i am not an expert) which might need attention and possible recall repairs by the manufacturer

Starter went off. car was not starting immediately. it was taking long time to start after tried several time. mechanic replaced the new starter cost $750.00 labor and parts.

A few months ago, my 2013 honda accord sport with 42k miles became hesitant to start. a turn of the key and i just heard clicks , after 3-5 tries it usually started on up. the problem progressed, yet i continued to "make due", i started putting the car in neutral to start it, and even had to be jumped off a few times. eventually in early february my battery went bad, and i purchased a new one. on march 12,2016 my car refused to start. i had to have it towed to the dealership i purchased the car from - in 2013 with 18 miles on it...on 3/14/16 i was just informed that my starter is bad. to replace the starter it will be $850....not including the diagnostic fee of $110 and the towing cost of $80, all because this doesn't fall under the 3/36k warranty that is standard with honda. seems like a ridiculous price to pay, especially after seeing the other complaint on this site of other honda owners with the same issue. i personally feel this should be a recall on hondas part. 2013 was the first year they made the honda accord sport edition ( i was told at the dealership), obviously something went awry at the factory. when i called the dealership to explain my problem, i gave the year, make, and model of my car. the technician that answered the phone replied with "oh, yes ma'am, i just spoke with you 10 minutes agoi?" it was the first time i had called. that tells me there are other 2013 honda accord sport owners experiencing the same problem. make it right honda!!

Intermittent starting problems. depressing brake pedal harder sometimes solves problem, sometimes not. changed batteries in key fobs. replaced car battery. still intermittent starting problems. can hear "click", dash lights-up but engine does not engage. repeated attempts until engine starts. has been happening between 48k and now 50k miles.

Since purchased new in 2013, this car hesitates after stopping and attempting to accelerate with the front wheels turned sharply to the left for a left turn. the car shutters as if it is about to shut down- very dangers, especially when turning left on a divided street or highway without a signal light.

Since purchased new in 2013, the radio sometimes will not get a lot of static and fuzz. to clear up the static, we have to pull over to side of the highway and turn the ignition off then restart the car and radio plays clearly. i learned this technique from a honda forum

It so far has happened to me twice that i need to jump-start the car. there probably has some electrical leakage issues or something related to it. the first time it was more than a year ago that when i came earlier to a doctor appointment waiting for the clinic to open, i turned off the car and left the cd player on. but it only played for about half an hour or so it turned off automatically due to the battery power has already been depleted and the card could not start at all that i had to call aaa after the doctor appointment to jump-start for me. i thought at that time it was due to the cd player took too much power so i did not complain about it. but the second time it was a few weeks ago on sunday, which give me the concerns that there must be some electrical leakage on my car. after parking for the church meeting and turned off the car, both my wife and i decided to open the window a little bit to let the air flows in the hot weather since we parked under a covered parking and would not worry about possible rainfall. so before we open the doors, we opened both front windows a very little bit and left for the meetings. then about 3.5-4 hours later when it was time to go home, we found out the car would not start, and we had to ask for help to jump-start it again. this time it gave a definite guess that there must be some electrical leakage in the car. i also complained in early june of this year about the steering wheel lock issue. i received a mail from honda to fix it, but when i call the dealers, none of them even offer loaner cars for such recall and manufacture failure repairs. honda is bad for things like this. i don't know whether i should purchase honda again in the future. i never complained once for my toyota for years. even they schedule for manufacture recalls, which i never encounter myself, i did not have to worry about the loaner car.

Vehicle was parked. upon pressing brake to shift to "drive" the vehicle jolted multiple times then accelerated forward. the vehicle collided with another vehicle directly in front injuring a person who was between both vehicles at the time.

Driving through town approximately 30mph and 3 yellow lights came on the dash. the pressure ,air tirelight, skid light, and thr power steering per the guide book. my steering remained ok, light stayed on. picked my sister up, all 3 lights came back on. we switched cars and drove hers. my car was parked in her driveway until 3;00pm i had left it there at 6;00am.. at 3;00 started car, power light came on again, steering still ok, light went off a minute later and has remained off. my husband is working the night shift tonight so he is taking my car, i am too frightened to drive it, seeing all these complaints and accidents about this problem. we will see what happens! why is taking this long for a recall? so dangerous for the driver as well as the others on the road!

Had gotten back in my car after a stop at a retail store. when i turned the car on the tire pressure light was blinking, the electric power steering light was on, and the vehicle stability assist light was on. i pulled over at another store within a half mile. i got out and checked the tires for a possible flat - no problem. turned car back on and same scenario with the 3 lights on. only difference was the tire pressure light stopped flashing but stayed on continuously. i looked in car manual, page 6 of honda technology reference guide, under the heading of malfunction indicators and it said, "if an indicator remains on, there may be a problem; see your dealer". i will call my car dealer in the morning. i want to state that i still had full control of my power steering. i read of others losing the power steering but mine was okay. after the second stop the 3 malfunctioning indicator lights went out.

While backing the vehicle rear camera goes black, leaving only lighted trajectory lines on the screen. for 2 years the car has been under warranty and the dealer has not been able to fix the problem. it has happened stationary and moving. on a city street only. we have multiple videos and pictures if needed.

My vehicle shut down while parked in an plaza on pembroke road at the beginning on march 2015. this happened again x 2 while the vehicle was parked (engine running) on separate days. the last time it happened i was driving along pines boulevard in peak hour traffic (tuesday april 21st 2015), as i approached the intersection of hiatus road and pines boulevard, i started slowing down for a red light. the vehicle then shut down/stalled again. the fact that there was a red light helped to prevent and accident, as everyone driving in the same direction had to stop. this time i had to call for a police cruiser to stand in place until i was able to get a tow or get it started again. after about 30 minutes, i finally got it started again and made it home. i took it to a honda dealer on wednesday april 22, 2015. they were able to replicate the issue but after replacing the battery (4-23-2015), fuel pump (4-24-2015) they said that the issue still persists and is now getting more frequent. they (autonation honda in miami lakes) have been trying to 'fix' the problem but they have not yet succeeded. today is may 3rd 2015 i am asking that the ntsb looks into this issue, as the last time it happened i was in peak hour traffic, this issue can lead to an accident.. i also contacted honda corporate customer service and reported the issue. (2014)tire pressure turned on .. when taken to the dealership the tire side wall was already damaged and needed to purchase a new tire. 2nd incident, tire pressure light turned on at 730am on sept 23,2015 ..when vehicle was taken to be seen at 8am they said the side tire wall was damage and needed to purchase a new tire. if tire pressure gauge notified properly there would be no need to purchase tires

Honda's reply to my complaint below / $250 gift card was an absolute "slap in the face" to me as a so called "appreciation for my honda loyalty" and not recognizing this engineering defect! i'm now even more disgusted with honda and i plan to do everything in my power to warn others. i've recently read where a class action lawsuit was recently settled for a similar problem w/honda civics, odysseus & an acura model. honda recognized / admitted to this similar design flaw only after they were forced to do so. absolutely shameful!!! exerts from my 8/25 letter to honda below; dear sirs, i wanted to make you aware of an occurrence i just experienced with my 2013 honda accord i just purchased (6/10/2014). my air conditioner stopped cooling on fri, 8/22/2014 after leaving work. after i returned home from a sweltering 45 mile commute, i immediately notified the local dealership and scheduled an appointment on sat, 8/23. as my 2013 certified honda accord was still under warranty (i purchased 74 days early), i was sure the problem would be covered @no cost to me. i had even purchased honda''s extended warranty on 6/10 even though ive never experienced repair problems with my purchases in the past. i was told road debris had damaged the condenser due to its lack of protection, all of the freon leaked out, the condenser would have to be replaced and it would not be covered under warranty. the condenser cost was $168.00 while with installation cost was $400.99! after all of my research online it appears this is a 'wide-spread design problem and honda is actually making money off of the defect by charging outrageous service fees to fix the problem. it disgusts me to think this could happen again and again! *tr

Went to start the car, the car will not turn on, everything works but car won't start. seems to be a problem with the starter. *tr

There's a lot of vibration when braking especially on the highway. also there is a leak on the passenger side door. when driving on the freeway, you can hear the wind like it's not completely sealed.

Drivers window would go half way up stop on it's own then go back down and stick, drivers door would not open from either inside or out. could not get out of car, had to crawl over to pass. side and get out. passenger side door started exhibiting the same behavior, still not resolved. doesn't happen all the time but it does happen, safety issue. back up camera went black, they replaced camera, still the color is off at times, other times it is black or becomes distorted, color at night is in negative at times. showed them the pics. and i was told it does what it was designed to do. bought the car brand new, it shouldn't have these prob. the door is the most concerning part, if my child is in the pass. side seat and i have to get them out, and the door decides it doesn't want to open, then we have a very serious safety issue. i have had the car to the dealership 8 to 10 times since feb. 2015, i have called customer service, they don't seem to help, i am out of options. this is only july 2015, i need help in resolving this matter with the door, i can live with the camera even though it is not working properly.

Since delivery date of vehicle from dealer my vehicles navigation and stereo have not worked. i brought it in the service dept could not figure out what was wrong, they replaced the navigation and stereo and the problem still to this day exist. when this radio is on sometimes it freezes and the nav unit states the radio is off and other times it just stays on, volume increases on its own, cannot use touch screen, cannot change stations and then the lights on the dash go on and off and car shuts off. i have gone online and see that there are many other people reporting the same problem and when i take it to the dealer if it goes back to working the service dept tells me that they cannot diagnose the problem to keep driving it and bring it back. on sept 21 i brought it in to dealer and it shut off at dealer 3x's making them jump start it and i have once again received my car with no assurance that it works. they said the battery and computer test come back ok but they changed the battery in hopes that that will resolve the issue. it is 9/24/15 and same thing happened this morning. but since after 3 hours of trying to turn it back on it did and i cant go back to being without a car because i have a 2 year old daughter, have to work and know the dealer will say its working again i have to just pray it will not happen while on the road

In my 2013 honda accord the no key icon appears on the dashboard when the car is on then it eventually goes off all while the key is inside of the car. now while the car is on the warning bell goes off and no key is displayed on the dash, yet again all of this while the key is inside of the car.
