Problems with 2013 Honda Accord UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On average, the 2013 Honda Accord starts to “feel” problems with the UNKNOWN OR OTHER and its various aspects after 59 854 miles.

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2013 Honda Accord

I own a 2013 (bought new) with 45000 miles on it. the starter went out and the torque converter needs replaced as well. it a beautiful car and its way to soon to be having these issues. the car won't start and makes a grinding noise.

2013 honda accord is failing to start. push starter button and it will not start, then again and will not start, then again and it will start. beginning to occur more frequently. have a new battery and checked alternator and everything fine.the car was stationary at the time i was trying to start it.

Rearview camera screen is black when i put car in reverse

When starting pushing the start button the car wont start until after a few tries, i even brought a new battery and that's not the problem.. i have about a little over 77 thousand miles.. this is happening more and more.

Vehicle only has 77,000 and seems to turn off on it own , lights on the vehicle stays on but when trying to turn on the vehicle it wont turn on

Push button start is not responding on a regular basis. when button is pushed, the battery is activated and all lights and radio are operational, however the car does not start. battery has been tested and all connections seem to be working properly. v6 models of this car have had a service bulletin 16-002 issued for starter, however my car is a four cylinder and therefore not eligible to be looked at under service bulletin.. issue can happen after several starts during the day, after sitting in cold or garage. it does not seem to make a difference whether the car has been running or not. car has 102,000 miles on it, and is in good condition. there are many complaints online regarding this same situation with my model, seems as though it is the exact same issue as with the v6. this is an ongoing and random issue. i have never been unable to start the car after several tries, but not sure if this luck will end soon.

A few days after the recall work was completed the car would not start when i pressed the start button. it went into accessory mode instead of starting. every day since then it has intermittently started after several attempts. it sometimes requires four, five or more attempts to start the engine. we replaced the battery on may 4, 2019. the intermittent starts continue. i found several internet sites that list other 2013 honda accord owners experiencing the same problem with no positive solutions.

The car won't start. in park put key in ignition and turn, just a click noise. car won't start. happens daily sometimes m turn the key sometimes twice, sometimes more than 10 times. new car low miles. i know that there are several others with this issue!

Starter stopped working.

Tl* the contact owned a 2013 honda accord. while driving at an unknown speed, an abnormal noise was heard under the hood of the vehicle. the contact noticed smoke and fire coming from the front of the vehicle. the fire department extinguished the fire. a fire report was filed. the fire department stated that the battery exploded, which caused the failure. there were no injuries. the vehicle was towed to an auto collision lot. the dealer was not contacted. the vehicle was destroyed. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Car has issues starting and with 60k miles only. there might be a defective battery sensor or starter. alternator checked and battery checked with no issues. ignition will need to be turned a few times before car starts right up. no lights on dashboard indicating any issues mechanically. something that needs to be looked into as my vehicle is maintained regularly and serviced by honda. sometimes it starts right up and other times it takes 3 to 5 turns on the ignition for the car to start.

After experiencing hard starting where key would not activate engine, the vehicle finally would not start. after dealership investigation, the dealership indicated starter solenoid and starter motor were faulty and needed to be replaced. starter motor on a vehicle with less than 42,000 miles should not require replacement. honda has a larger issue with starter motors in my opinion. vehicle was stationary when it would not start.

I have been stranded about 15 times due to my car not starting and having several warning lights on. i bought this vehicle new and have completed all the necessary scheduled maintenance. i should not be experiencing this. after doing some research, several honda owners are experiencing thus same issue. this problem is starting to diminish my quality of life. i have to work for a living and not having a reliable vehicle has caused me to be late or miss work. honda is supposed to be one of the reliable vehicles but that is not the case for me. i truly believe this car is a lemon. when this has happened, my vehicle was off and stationary. i want to stress that this has happened 15 times and i wish i had stumbled on this site the first time because i would have logged each incident. it does not feel good to be stranded with a broken vehicle.

My car will not start at times, i make several attempts and after 4 or 5 trys it them starts.

Faulty starter: has been an issue for more than a year. increasingly, it has taken more than one time to start the car. at times it has taken more than 8 times pushing the "push-to-start" button to get the car to start. based on my research this has been a know issue for honda for more than 2 years, but they have yet to issue a recall to remedy the problem. it cost me ~$650 to replace the starter.

Car clicks before starting, cuts off while driving, steering locks when car cuts off. i drive a considerable amount of time on the freeway with my family. this is a very dangerous situation to the lives of myself, family and other drivers on the road. this is a daily occurrence. speed varies when this happens. sometimes it occurs from a cold or warmed start.

Car developed problems starting. all lights, radio, etc would turn on but the starter will not start the vehicle. it began slowly and got increasingly worse with time. problem got even worse after the recalled battery sensor was replaced.

Car would not start after pushing push start multiple times at 5:00 p.m. car was stationary .tried to start again at 6:00 p.m., would not start. next morning tried to again to start car, failed to start. called aaa they came twice the first tech stated battery was fine and that it was the starter he didn't have tow truck so a second tech came again stated it was the starter. car was towed to honda dealership and the diagnosis was starter needed to be replaced.

Honda accord recall nhtsa recall number17v-418 called local honda service center, honda city in bethpage ny. they stated the don't have the parts for the recall and don't expect to get them for a couple of months. please advise.

The humming noise on and off randomly in recent days ( 06/06/2018 ), sometimes very loud like a motorcycle roaring beside the car. most of the noise happen around 40-70 mph while driving on highway ( louder ) and city ( humming ). my 2013 honda accord is around 70000 +/- miles, replace new tires at around 63000 miles, and regular maintenance at dealer, thus not the tires problem. don't know where the noise come from. many drivers indicate the same problems when surf online complains, and maybe some safety issue to worry.

Honda used a bad starter when making the 2013 accord. they also put the exhaust manifold right over it. so the starter fails right as the warranty expires on your car. i know i'm not the only one to have this happen. the car will not start. the starter is garbage. it should not have failed this soon.

When i start my vehicle, the engine turns on, but only stays on for a second or two before loosing power. the battery seems to be working perfectly fine as the lights and indicators are properly lit. the starter also cranks properly. the engine however turns on but doesn't stay o. this has happened to me multiple times and i have changed my car battery 3 times now as the dealership isn't unable to identify what the issue is and my battery keeps getting drained. the car is particularly susceptible to this issue in the mornings in colder temperatures (50 degrees or so as i live in southern california) after not being used overnight

Starter stop working

I woke up this morning to drive to work, while i was driving the engine cut off, i almost hit a fire hydrant. i drove 0.3 miles, i was at the red light ,about to make a right turn, the vehicle cut off again. the steering got locked and i coudln't position the vehicle. ever since the recall was done on my vehicle regarding the battery issue, i've been having problem, it's either i jump start today, or the car wont start. i was told they didnt touch nothng in the vehicle. honda claim the vehicle is okay.

starter needed to be replaced my 2013 accord only has 65,000 miles and had to have the starter replaced. i would have to turn the key multiple times in order for the car to start- i thought it had to do with the recent battery recall.

It turns over the battery light goes on smells like smoke

I had a recall affecting the charging system of my car. i did take my car in for the second part of the recall but unfortunately since that work was done my car is emitting smoke like smell as i am driving even when the heat is not on. also it is heating without me turning the heater on as well. it is to be noted that i never had that issue before. i had the work done on 12/18/2017

Driving down the highway when all of a sudden i heard a loud noise thinking i had a blowout to find out my sunroof glass just shattered .not a car was around me when this happen.

At times the car will not start when the ignition key is turned. it will start on the second turn. on 11/17/2017 , it did not start on the second try. i called for a tow truck . the driver arrived and after turning the key multiple times , the car started. he stated that it is the starter and to have it checked.

Nhtsa recall 17v-418. the dealer at steven creek road, san jose, ca charged us $80 for the diagnostic test. called the honda and still insist that we need to pay. the dealer threatened not to release the car after t hey did the final repair. we don't have choice but to pay. we were taken advantage by honda. i filed a complaint to honda under case # 06455487 but jennifer insist we need to pay. what a shame? we have the car back but we feel we were cheated by this company!

Takata recall. plus battery gap that can cause ignition / fire hazard. honda said they will do this recall at carson honda (nov 1, 2017), however one of window started malfunctioning after recall performed. not sure if recall is performed either.

The starting can't start the car and i had it replaced and it still won't start. i've seen a lot of complaints about the 2013 honda accord starter and i don't know why it hasn't been recalled

Vsm brakes modulator failed as soon as i bought it and paid fix 1600. i've found the modulator wire made by soybeans and rabit or mouse bited it and broke it. the car company must promiss for safe to the driver and it happens by maker's failure that made by soybeans to involve the animal chewed to threaten safety.

Battery a piece to be placed on the battery sensor to prevent moisture from entering to prevent a fire

The car has a push button crank also wouldn't start at all and had to jump stat it the other day after work. at times it takes several tries for car to crank. it is said to be the starter the car in very old low mileage and honda has had multiple complains and this is not been recalled. the vehicle was jump started at my work in graham nc. feel that honda is not responding to the complaints and fixing the issue. will not buy another honda if this is what kind of customer service they have regarding threat products!

Dear sir/madam:i bought my car in 2013 and my battery went bad this year. i contacted honda to inform that it is unusual to get the battery went bad within 3 years when i was using it very careful. i asked them to change the battery and they refused to take any liability since they said it is regular wear and tear. i told them even aaa give 5 year warranty on their battery. last month, i received an email from honda stating the following: "american honda motor co., inc. (honda) is recalling certain model year 2013 - 2016 accord vehicles. in certain vehicles, the plastic case of the battery sensor may have gaps that allow moisture to enter the sensor. safety risk: if moisture containing conductive substances (such as road salt) enters the battery sensor, it could cause an electrical short and subsequently, a fire." they still refused to reimburse me $300.00 of what i paid for my battery although they have recall.

While driving with the ac for 15 minutes; a little smoke starts to come out of the center consoles two vents. this has been happening for the last 2 weeks every time we drive for over 15 minutes. the smoke last for up to 30 seconds then stops. once it is done, a slight odor of burned electrical can be noticed.

Tl* the contact owned a 2013 honda accord. while the contact was at the doctor's office, she was alerted that her vehicle was on fire in the parking lot. the contact was unsure if a police report was filed. the fire department extinguished the fire. the vehicle was towed to the local police department. the contact's insurance company deemed the vehicle totaled after the police inspection. there were no injuries. the manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. the cause of the failure was not determined. the vin was unknown. *tt consumer stated she received a recall for a battery part that could cause fire. consumer took the vehicle for an oil change to honda dealer but part was not replaced. consumer states while in the doctors office, car started a fire in the parking lot. fire was extensive but manufacturer claims it is not their problem.*jb

There are many many complaints on line about the starters on the 2013 honda accord - but honda still has not made a recall?? this is an expensive part to replace and they are not helping anyone? i am afraid i will get stuck somewhere and my car will not start - but it is almost one thousand dollars to get it repaired!!!! i have to crank it many times before it will start. the one shop made me get a new battery - but that did not make any difference. i feel like i will get stranded somewhere unsafe!

Honda has a "lanewatch" camera that a screen comes on when the right turn signal is deployed. our honda's camera fails to come on leaving the screen in a normal mode. this would be such as gas mileage etc. dealer and honda mototors refuse to acknowledge problem. they need to "replicate" at dealer. we called them to come to our home which is less than 5 minutes away. they always are busy or have an excuse. the vehicle was moving forward ready to turn on a city street. we took the video to show the turn signal on and no "lanewatch". we have also filed a complaint on our rear camera blacking out. dealer refuses to fix. driveaccord.com is full of similar cases. seems like a honda defective product.

For the past few months the push button start has been intermittent. sometimes it will start right away, sometimes all i get is a click, and sometimes nothing. often have to push it several times before the car will finally start. the battery in the key fob is new, the car battery has been checked. i assume it's the starter from the sound of it. all the lights and power windows work. i researched the cost and it's anywhere from 600-800 to replace starter, that's more than the car payment! the car is only 4 years old! consumers should be protected against manufactures trying to make more money off of parts. after much research i see a lot of complaints on this very issue and even after replacing the starter the same problem occurs. now it could be an electrical issue along with the starter. today was final straw, after getting ice cream with my 2 little kids in 92 degree weather, the car would not start at all! so i had to call a friend to pick me and the kids up, we had to wait in 92 degree weather! no one should have to experience this event with a new car! honda needs to recall this starter defect and fix starters issues immediately. thank you.

Had two of my car door actuators went up had to pay over $800 to repair them people were getting locked in my car when to stopped .next day doors making some noise took my car back to dealer they said the other two doors were going up .talk to the mechanic that did the work he said he would do the work for a discount if they would ok it. since they did not find it same day.they said no way they want another $800 to fix them . so people are still getting locked in my car. i think this would be a saftey issue.

For the last year, the car has been unable to start after parking it for a few minutes. usually after a few key turns it will start. a month ago it would not start at all so we towed it. the dealership decided it was the starter. after 37,000 miles? it's a honda! it worked fine for 5 weeks and then it died again after being driven just a few miles. this time the dash lights flashed and clicked for a few minutes but would not start. after towing it, the dealership hooked it up to a jumpstart and it started! three lights continued to flash so the dealership hooked it up to the computer. i called them a couple days later and they have no answers. i hate letting my wife drive an unreliable vehicle.

My driver side front and rear doors did not open during the winter season. i suspect they were frozen from the cold weather. but then again it only occurred on the driver side. somewhat of an safety issue i would think.

Problem with windows/sunroof: car parked in okc parking lot for 11+ hours and when went to leave, all four windows were down and sunroof was open. car remained locked. this is security issue since anyone can access vehicle and even open trunk (nothing would be safe).

When i stopped for paying toll, car displayed engine light and steering safely light with jerking sound, not acceleration and steering g locked for few seconds and then released . i pulled the vehicle to parking lot and stopped...i started the vehicle after 3 minutes ... there is a rattling noise in the engine and (fcw) warning came... says fcw system failed . i left the car at parking lot and towing back to dealer tomorrow... not safe to drive as the accelation is very erratic and consistent ...traveling with my kids and scared of losing control of the car... it is on interstate 294 close o'hare airport .. christmas day and all repair shops closed

2013 honda accord won't start. lights, a/c, radio, windows work. this occurred after 50,000 miles. i would have to turn steering column at first to get it to start. now it doesn't start at all! the vehicle is stationary

Apparently, honda has been using wiring harnesses that are coated in some sort of soy based material in an effort to go green. unfortunately, this has resulted in an unwanted consequence of rodents being attracted to my car. they are constantly trying to chew through the wires and this can result in a very expensive repair bill from honda. this is something they did to the vehicles they manufacturer, and the fact that they're making us vehicle owners pay for the repair bills is unacceptable to me, but what can you do? i've read online this is not just affecting vehicle owners in rural areas, but owners who live in cities like i do. so far, i've had to use some bitter apple spray that only causes the rodents to try nibbling elsewhere in the engine bay. i don't have any pictures, but i can take some upon request. i'd hate to be driving when something fails.

***happens when vehicle is parked and turned off*** this car has a "feature" that is not disclosed to customers upon purchase which can lead to a dangerous condition for property and the interior of the vehicle. if the key fob is placed in a pocket with keys (as everyone does), there is a combination of inadvertent button presses (specifically unlock / unlock / unlock) which causes all of the windows and the sunroof to open. this has lead to my car being soaked by having all the windows open during a rainstorm while i was inside my office (with the vehicle parked right outside - the key fob works from quite a far distance). it has also lead to my belongings being compromised due to all of the windows opening when i parked in the city and was sitting in a building with the keys in my pocket, among other times. when i returned to the selling dealer i was told that they were unaware of this feature and i should read the manual. it is not detailed in the manual and there is no way to disable it.

Hesitation when moving forward. it bumps three to four times on low speeds.
