Takata recall. i received a notification letter about the recall in july 2016 and was instructed not to allow passengers to sit in the front seat. i was told the remedy parts would be available in late summer or fall of 2016. i've asked the dealer (pasadena honda) about it several times, but i'm told the parts are not available. it's quite an inconvenience to be unable to use my passenger front seat. honda has not indicated when i will, in truth, be able to have the problem fixed.

Takata recall, i received the notification of the recall in july of 2016, it is now november of 2016 with no sign of a fix. this is inexcusable, my car is not safe to have with passengers. the airbags have not deployed thankfully, but knowingly waiting to put a fix out for this recall is putting people at risk.

When the recall first came out, i called and the dealer told me that i was not part to of the recall. this was in 2014 or 15? then i received a letter from the dealer stating that my car could possibly be part of the recall. i called the dealer and they informed me that the letter specifically was intended to sell me a new car using scare tactics. i spoke to american honda because i was so mad at them for trying to sell me a new car, based on fear and they once again promised that my car was not part of the recall and offered me a $200 gift card. i recently received a letter dated july 2016 stating that in fact my car is part of the recall, and instructing me to not have, " any passenger sit in the front seat until repair." now my car is in my garage since july undriveable. i cannot drive my family anywhere and the car sits. they cannot tell me when they will fix it. the dealer has lied to me from day one of the recall and now they are telling me to not have passengers sit in the front of the vehicle. what about the driver? technically, the driver isn't safe either according to the letter. i need help. i am without a car.

Takata recall have attempted both with local dealer and headquarters to obtain information about my airbag and the company has not been willing to help. i purchased a 2009 honda accord from autopark honda in cary, nc several years ago. a few months ago i looked on recall.gov to see if the airbag installed in my vehicle is under recall. recall.gov listed it as under recall. i contacted autopark about this. they said they didn't see a recall on my vehicle. i asked why it was showing on the government listing and they did not know. i asked if one of the takata airbags under recall (which are dangerous to have in the vehicle) was installed in my car. they were unable to tell me and declined to look into it. so, i wrote a letter to honda's corporate headquarters (in torrance, ca) explaining and asking if one of the recalled takata airbags was installed in my vehicle. they sent me a form letter in return. i want to know what airbag is installed in my vehicle (make, model) and whether it is one of the malfunctioning airbags. if it is, i want to know how to get it replaced in a timely manner. i feel honda should provide this information to me. i filed this complaint with the bbb a while ago and yet honda still won't provide me with this information. they have provided inaccurate info to bbb such as they have tried to contact me (they have not). i am not sure what to do to obtain this basic safety information from honda. my children ride in my car every day and i am worried about their safety. my email address is [xxx] if there is anything you can do to help me obtain this information it would be greatly appreciated. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Takata recall. i own a 2009 honda accord 2-dr and the recall is applied to the 4-dr only. however, i wouldn't be able to describe my car's issue better than the recall. i was driving on the highway (i-35) with approx. 65 mph, going straight not turning in any way. i heard a very loud pop noise and my passenger's seat and curtain airbags had deployed. honestly, it's very hard to tell if i ran over a pothole or if i hit a rock because the loud noise and my shock dominated the moment. thankfully, i was commuting alone that day and nobody got hurt. i stopped the car to inspect it and i couldn't see anything. i filled a claim with honda customer service and took the car to the nearest honda center for a diagnosis ($120). honda customer service requested that one of their field engineers inspected the car. after his inspection, he determined that an impact caused the airbags to deploy. when i requested to see the impact signs, they pointed a scratch on the frame rail. they said that the scratch seems minor only because it happened on the toughest part of the car, the frame rail. that scratch is almost underneath the passenger's side sensor. i asked for more information, such as the threshold when an airbag deploys, how do they know that this scratch was not there before, etc. they didn't answer my questions, instead they told me that the scratch was "fresh". i'm attaching the pictures of the scratch on the frame rail. it's not very obvious but look at the silver scrape. i decided to take my car to my insurance (progressive). they were baffled with what they saw and they couldn't believe that such scratch would cause the airbags to deploy. the estimator helping me wasn't sure if they'll cover it. he'll elevate the issue and call me on monday. honda doesn't recognize this as a defect since they found a scratch. progressive may not fix it. no car out of nowhere!

Takata airbags i called numerous times last year and two years ago because my passenger airbag light would keep coming on and the vehicle was never in a major accident to set off the passenger airbag. i complained in person at a honda dealership of lisle to a ray underwood. ray claimed that nothing was wrong and they refused to do anything to my vehicle until i paid a minimum $100 testing fee. i am a college student who doesnt have alot of extra income so i was unable to pay for the fee. i argued that this should have been free do to the seriousness of the claim considering i have passengers in my vehicle all the time and i would never want to put them in harms way. ray again refused to do anything. i called honda and they refused to reimburse me for the fee. now about 2 years later i received 2 letters in the mail about my vehicle having defective airbags! are you people ignorant, incompetent, stupid or all 3? i am currently giving all documentation to my lawyer for further action. i want honda of lisle reported to the better business bureau as well as their general manager ken underwood. this is a shady way to conduct business and i could have been seriously injured or killed do to their negligence as well as takata's negligence.

Was in a car accident and hit another car, my air bags did not deploy. police, ems, and fire department, and insurance company all advised me that they should have deployed on impact. instead my chest hit the steering wheel causing loss of breath and bruising. i was traveling on a city street. ..updated 11/13/15 *bf *js

On 9/7/2015, i shut my passenger door to my 2009 honda accord and the side air bag deployed. i have been battling honda north america and have had two independent insurance adjusters verify that the air bag was not deployed due to any type of collision. the car was stationary and parked when this occurred.

2009 honda accord. consumer writes in regards to airbag indicator light illuminated. *smd the consumer stated the dealer did not offer a satisfying explanation. *jb the consumer was informed the problem she experienced with the air bag, was not covered under the recall. update 01/10/17.*jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 honda accord. while the vehicle was at a stop light, another vehicle crashed into the rear of the contact's vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained neck and lower back injuries that required medical attention. a police report was not filed. the contact was able to drive the vehicle to stevens creek honda (4590 stevens creek blvd, san jose, ca 95129, phone: (800) 692-2129). the vehicle was not diagnosed, but the body damage was repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Can hear slight noise when disconnecting my seatbelt coming from lower part of the dashboard

Side airbag light, driver's airbag light and passenger airbag light is on. i bought the car new and it's never been in an accident.

Chain reaction where i was the last vehicle in a stopped line of cars i was rear ended by an usb who was traveling fast and never attempted to brake the suv struck the rear of my accord and pushed me into the car in front my car had crushed rear end and crumpled front end while the side air beg went off the front air bag did not deploy....this is my concern since it struck the front of the next vehicle causing damage. *tr

About a year ago when i arrived back home, my boyfriend (the driver) put the car in park, got out of my car on the passenger side, the car was still running, i closed the door, and boom! all of the passenger side air bags deployed. my kids were in the back seat immediately frightened. they did not inflate, they only dropped. i contacted american honda, opened a claim, brought my car to a local dealer, and of course i was told that it was my fault. they are blaming the deployment on an accident that a previous owner had got into many years ago. after leaving the dealership, i tried contacting american honda again to get further explanation and another inspection i never received a call back.

I was driving down the road, a city street traveling 30 mph, and my driver side window airbag deployed. they have recently announced recalls on 2008-2009 honda 4-door accords for the sensitivity of the side impact sensors being too high. this isn't an issue that's exclusive to their 4-door sedans, and also relates to their 2 door coupe. as a result of my airbag deployment i took my car to honda and they were unable to give me any explanation as to why my airbag deployed but wouldn't accept responsibility. i also had my insurance company inspect the vehicle and after their thorough examination they deemed it a manufacturer defect. as a result of the incident i wound up having to pay $2600 for my airbags to be replaced. overall a very frustrating experience for someone who was a loyal honda owner who wound up accepting financial responsibility without doing anything wrong.

Slid into a curb. locked up the seat belt, did not deploy airbags. i thought it was lifetime warranty on seat belts. honda charged me $469 to replace driver side seat belt. srs system would not reset. now it points to front sensors. honda wants $859 to replace front sensors and srs control unit. *tr
