I own 2 honda's an accord and a pilot it is insane the visa modulator went bad on both them. a 1500+ part that also is associated with the abs and emerg brake. i have 2 relative who also have this problem. the more research i do the more this seems to be a faulty part issue. how is everyone e having this issue? very unhappy with the cost of this and being forced to utilize a dealership for this fix only. as honda does not allow any other mechanic to fix or reset this code. 121-01. &. 121-21
The brake light continues to go on and off on the dashboard. i have changed my brakes, replaced the brake fluid and the problem persists. i have went to honda and they can only tell you the cost for the repair. i have seen quite a few complaints on other websites with the same problem. i have found multiple websites with the same problem for the 2008, 2009 and 2007 honda accord, i cannot understand how it's affecting a significant amount of vehicles for the honda accord and there is not a recall listed. especially when it can cause hazardous driving conditions. the light comes on within a minute or two of driving and turns off after reaching 40 mph. other times it stays on and the vsa light comes on.
Takata recall sometimes my sideairbag signal blinks and when i press the brake paddle hardly it sounds like rough and also sometimes when i touch the door i feel little bit electric shock.
The takata airbags don't work well and also the brake doesn't work well sometimes
I had my car for a year since 8/13/2016 now my car is knocking ticking and when i accelerate it's loud in the morning i got all my oil changes transmission flush and engine flush i need help what's going on i went to get a diagnostics test yesterday (8/25/17) now my engine light is blinking on my dashboard plus the tpms light and also vsa indicator with the triangle with the exclamation mark in it i turned the car on this morning drove it to the store it cut off on me help it only let me go up to 25 mph
Car caught fire doors locked would not let me out.car shut off no brakes. *tr
I hear a grinding sound every time i brake. i saw that honda settle a class action lawsuit regarding replacing or reimbursing for brake pads that wore out twice as fast. but i called honda and they told me my car was not covered by this. i have a proximately 54,000 miles on my vehicle. secondly, my vehicle vibrates or shakes a bit at higher speeds of 65 mph and above on the highway. not sure if this is a common problem or should be addressed by honda. finally, i develop backaches due to the discomfort of the seats which i suspect are not correctly or ergonomically designed. after about 30 to 40 minutes of driving i experience lower back pain which i normally never have. this dissuades me from driving for much longer distances as i remain stiff and need to rest in order to recover from the back pain after driving the vehicle.
I had to crashes and noone of the two accidents the air bags came out the supension dont know what itsactaly happen its really damage.and also the brakes of the car
3.5 v-6 engine rattling loudly
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda accord. the contact stated that the vsa and abs indicators remained illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear driver side speed sensor failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. in addition, the technician indicated that the vsa modulator failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the yaw rate sensor failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired again. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 102,000.
Losing braking power and pedal not functioning properly continually getting air in brake lines from faulty abs vsa modular pump this happens when stopped at a light and while in moving traffic
Vsa brake and abs light come on and off intermittently. braking test with lights on show abs does not work. numerous complaints on web sites about moisture entering the control module. no response from honda other than replace the $1200.00 module.
I am the original owner, my car has approx. 24000 miles, i having break problem that is developed approx. good 5000 miles ago. when the break is applied the font end of the car starts vibrating and shaking, also can filled in the starring wheel.
This is a safety raised issue on a 2008 accord-lxp that i purchased used (which had about 29k originally when i purchased it as a certified honda accord) from herb chambers boston. since i purchased the car, i started hearing an odd grinding noise when starting the car on cold days - honda said just keep oil full. i then find out that a recall had been issued to fix the oil consumption, that honda had finally agreed there was an issue with the engine design and would fix it and at the same time would not cause other issues to emerge such as vtc and the timing chain issues. recently my engine light came on, i started researching the problem. it was the first time i knew about the following issues which i will be detailing/describing below. results were bad: a timing chain failure. my car has stopped in the middle of road causing a very dangerous situation which could led to me losing my life. not, only that, when i tried to just drive the car a mile back to my house it was accelerating and decelerating by it self. in addition, i decided to take it to the dealership for a diagnoses, i almost ended up in couple accidents. the car was uncontrollable and won't stop and the brakes won't respond due to issues caused by oil consumption, to vtc actuator to a timing chain failure: the car keep accelerating and decelerating by it self on the road or highway. note: ideally the timing chain should not fail on 58k miles. simplified sequence of problems: oil consumption issue vtc (valve timing control) actuator timing chain (either loose or broken) safety issue
I purchased this honda accord from automaxx of summerville in good faith from dealer stating that vehicle passed all their inspections (including brake system). i found out within 2 weeks later by taking it to a honda dealership, that the brakes, brake lines, caliper, exhaust system are all affected by severe, damaging rust. during inspection, inclusive were sticking caliper. i had front brakes replaced; but due to rust, technician had to bam & force brakes lose. i was informed of the risks with severe rusting causing parts to brake and fail. new brakes would not install properly after old, seated brakes came off. when vehicle is in motion and stopping, the brake system makes noise, and seems like something coming apart due to the insecure fitting of brakes/rotors/calipers, which all have a great build up of rust. this vehicle was purchased approximately 1 month ago in these conditions. it should be illegal to sell such vehicles that pose safety risk in brake system. honda inspection suggested that rust was so severe that car could have possibly been damaged by salt water/snow/ice or flood. car originated from up north. re-sale should not be allowed.
My car has 21,000 miles on it when i discovered that the noise coming from the back of the car was my brake pad wear sensors. they started squealing 1,000 earlier but i did not know it was the wear sensors making the noise because they squealed while driving. there should not have been any brake drag unless the calipers were not working properly. i did find out on the inet that the slider pins were reversed and that was why there was drag on the brakes. this is a safety hazard and also causes less fuel efficiency since the brakes are being applied all of the time. i took the car to the local honda dealer at the request of honda customer service and the dealership told me that i had no brake pads left. i called honda back and they told me that my car was not on a recall list according to my vin but all of the articles that i read on the inet said that over 750,000 of all 2008-2009 and early 2010 accords and acura tsx had the slider pins reversed. there is a document issued by honda that comes with the new fixed brak pads for the rear wheels states that the slider pins needs to be reversed and the smooth pin should be on top. mine were originally installed at the factory reversed. here is an internet link explaining the problem along with the document that comes with their so called "improved honda rear brake pads for swapping the two rear caliper pins which were installed incorrectly at the factory. http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/2008-2010-honda-accord-premature-rear-brake-pad-wear-repair-guide/

Takata recall honda usa does not honor the nhtsa 16v-056 (corrosion of the ecu unit) air bag recall. they said they would send a remedy letter in the fall of 2016. never received the letter, and closed their recall campaign. they will not replace the ecu unit unless it's corroded to a point where a warning light comes on. the whole point of the nhtsa 16v-056 recall is to replace the ecu unit, so no corrosion will occur in the future. honda usa refuses to replace the ecu unit. they bully their dealers not to replace it too. i have never encountered a business that is this deceiving in my life. i' m stuck without any pull or power to have them liable for this issue. please ,i beg you , please help me nhtsa! there was a litigation that was settled in the past regarding premature wear on the rear brakes. they just replaced one set of rear brakes per litigation, but the actual defect was never addressed and never fixed. the defect is in their braking system . i'm still driving with defective braking, with extremely high anxiety. honda usa deceived nhtsa and the customers again. seats are so uncomfortable , it detracts attention away from driving safely on the road.
The 2008 honda accord models were subject to a class action lawsuit in 2010. the suit stated that rear brake pads on the vehicle wear prematurely. the problem with the lawsuit is that at that time most owners of the vehicles did not know or encounter a problem with the brake pads. further, the pads are wearing prematurely which in most cases will cause a need for the rotors to be replaced. thus the expense to the owner is higher. in some instances the owner is force to purchase new calipers which increase the cost even more. the vehicles are outfitted with an electronic braking distribution (ebd) system which might be the cause of the overall issue. when the 2008 honda accord models were built, honda installed smaller brake pads on the vehicles. the class action lawsuit covered a fraction of the cost to owners. as time goes by, more and more owners are now faced with much higher costs to replace all the rear braking componenets. i myself spent over $800.00 in april, 2014 to have new brake pads, calipers and rotors installed on my vehicle. that service was to replace the original equipment on the vehicle. i need to have the same braking components replaced in march, 2016 at a cost of over $800.00. the brake components should not need to be replaced after 23 months. the mileage between repairs was 10,000 miles. honda needs to be held accountable for poor quality for the ebd systems in the vehicles.
Have had to have the rear brakes repaired twice since i have owned this vehicle. once at 57,000 miles and again at 140,000. while i realize that this is now a high mileage vehicle, the front brakes are still the original and when the rear brakes were repaired, the shop estimated i still had 70% life remaining for the front pads. the cost of the repairs at 57,000 miles were partially covered by a class action suit against honda at the time.
It happened twice, both times i had tried to come to a complete stop and the car would suddenly start to accelerator, wouldn't stop right away, this could become very dangerous. *tr
I have noticed on 5 different occasions that when i apply the brake the accelerator is also activated. when i remove my foot completely off the brake and apply pressure to the brake pedal again it corrects itself. at first i thought it was caused by wearing my big snow boots and i was actually pressing both pedals at the same time. this is not the case as it has happened several times since then. i haven't taken my car in to the dealership yet because i know they won't be able to make it happen again for them. it happens at random times. *tr
Despite the recall a few years ago, honda still ignores the problem of rear brakes that wear out rapidly and therefore require frequent replacement. at just over 91,000 miles, i now have to schedule my 3rd rear brake replacement and it will be the second time that i must replace the rear rotors. honda refuses to acknowledge that their rear brakes are flawed and seem to not feel obligated to correct them. they also do not feel as though they should offer any financial assistance for the replacement of their substandard rear brakes. we are therefore forced into high rear brake and rotor replacement bills. perhaps it was their plan all along to bilk unsuspecting customers. this is a serious safety issue that honda needs to remedy immediately. *tt
When i apply my brakes i hear a grinding noise. it doesn't happen all of the time.. it is intermittent. i have taken it to the honda dealership twice and both times they have told me they don't see or hear anything that might be wrong. they drive it for about a mile. naturally, it usually happens on the weekend when the dealership service department is closed.

I have been having problems with the brakes since it was purchased in march 2011. the brakes pads were replaced on the front and back twice since i bought the car. the rotors were turned this year. the car would not stop and constantly made noises. a week ago, i was involved in a car accident because my brakes failed. *tr
This was the second time my car accelerated for no reasons while i was driving. the first time i was only driving 35 miles an hour and no one was in front of me. the second time the car accelerated as i was stopping at a red light. i barely missed a car by one foot. both times i went to the honda dealership in sanford. long story short...no one knows how to fix it. i am extremely upset over the idea that there are all car owners with these electronic systems that don't work. the second time my three year grandson was in the back seat. the dealership said the electronic system sent a message that designated that there was an acceleration or malfunction. anyway i am sending this because i wanted my car fixed and because it is a paper trail if someone gets killed in this car. i will no longer own a honda. this was my second honda and until this i was very satisfied. i now have a car paid for that i cannot drive. i do want the public to be aware of this problem. [xxx] i don't have the vin number. my car is parted outside the dealership in sanford, n.c. waiting for me to pick it back up. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
When applying the brakes - there is a really bad vibration/pulsing in the steering wheel and brake pedal. the car is a 2008 honda accord ex-l with 19,000 miles. dealer wants to replace rotors .......... car is out of warranty !!!!! looks like a known problem online for the 2008-2010 honda accord . class action law suit was settled for millions of dollars. but the dealer said they were not aware of any problems or complaints for brakes .... i am going to replace pads and rotors on front and back .... with top shelf parts not cheap ass honda parts !!!! *tr
Rear brakes failed at 21,000 miles. we purchased the car new and have very low mileage. the rear brakes needed to be completely replaced. *tr
Rear brake pads wore out at 25910 miles. *tr
I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation and was told the rear brake pads needed to be replace. i found out that a lawsuit was settled in 2010 and people were informed of this. we never received any notice and when i contacted my local honda dealer i was told there was nothing they could do about because there wasn't a recall notice. when i contacted corporate i was directed to the law firms website that informed me it was to late to file a claim. what can i do about this? thank you. *tr
Early tear and wear of brakepads causing damage to drums. *tr
We had to have the brakes repaired again. we purchased the vehicle as a certified pre-owned honda. we replaced the brakes last october 2011. 15,000 miles later, we had to replace them again? we took our honda accord to a honda dealer in ft. worth (frank kent honda) for a recall repair and they said we needed new brakes. we took the honda to just brakes in ft. worth and the manager said our honda has a caliper and brake problem associated with 2009 honda accords. the caliper causes the brakes to not "disengage" causing "friction" thus wearing the brakes down way too quickly????? really?? this is news to us? nothing was said when we bought the honda in january 2011. from huggins honda in ft. worth.? nothing was mentioned by frank kent honda when they said we needed new brake pads? now i have read an article explaining a law suit over the brakes? why are honda owners not being told or warned about this??? *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda accord. the contact was reversing from a residential driveway when the rear brake began exhibiting a very loud scraping metal noise. the vehicle was taken to a personal mechanic for diagnosis and the contact was informed that the rear brakes would need replacing. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileages were 21,627.
I bought this car pre owned at 15k the back brake went out on this car after 1year at 24k i replace brake myself i was curious why would a back brake wear out so fast on doing online lookup i found numerous owners had the same problem so i called honda regional office and i given a refund for the expense. now last year june i notice cold rattle start on my engine and now is progressively getting louder. i did a look up online and my mechanic said it vtc ( variable timing control ) actuator was found to be defective. i think honda should replace this since my car now has 80k miles i might be out of warranty. *tr
The brake pads are gone very rapidly on 56000miles only. honda service centre is asking them to replace at my own cost i have honda care plan as well but no luck . brake pad should go as longer as 70,000 miles. *tr

08 honda accord ex l 4 cyl brakes continuously have issues with wearing unevenly. the issue seems to be more prevalent in the rear. the last time i had the brakes checked and "fixed" i had to take the car to the dealership 3 times because they could not seem to correct the issue with vibration of the car when the brakes were applied. even after 3rd time going to the dealership there was still a slight vibration when the brakes were applied. when i spoke with the service manager about the issues with the brakes, i was told that it was known issue, but there was nothing more they could do to fix the problem. *tr
my wife and i purchased a 2008 honda accord (certified pre-owned) january 06, 2010. the mileage was 46,399. the honda dealer said the brakes were new. (certified pre-owned) we had to replace the brakes july 2011 at 53,096 miles. (6697 miles later) august 2012 we had to replace brakes rotors and calipers 68007 miles. at this time we were advised of a defect in the braking system by just brakes.. we contacted honda and they said since we were not the original owners and we did not take action sooner (prior 2010?) we would not be reimbursed for these repairs. (honda settles lawsuit over this matter??) we also had to replace the tires in august 2012 as well. since the repair of the brakes and calipers we have not had any issues and the gas mileage increased. we have spent hundreds of dollars trying to fix a problem that honda has known about. a "certified pre-owned" honda should qualify for the reimbursement that honda has offered, even though we were not the original owners. since we did not know about the "problem" until after 2010 (after the purchase of the vehicle) we could not had acted in time. it is my understanding there was a "safety bulletin" about this issue? if there was, why didn't honda/dealer notify us of this issue? or shouldn't they have fixed this issue before selling the honda as a "certified pre-owned" vehicle? i received a letter from honda yesterday about a defect (control arm) in the 2006, 2007 & 2008 honda civic and reimbursement available for this law suit. i would like honda to remedy the situation on my 2008 honda accord. *tr
Loud noise from rear brakes. squealing, so pulled over. then drove 8 miles home. now in 2015 at 33000 miles on the odometer, i've had to replace the rear pads three times, had slides repaired and lubed, two sets of rotors, and now a rear caliber that honda replaced because i still had a warranty on them. they where found to be seized yet again 12/10/14 after being seized and serviced 5/12/14. each time i'd notice a smoking or weird noises coming from the rear brakes and then would schedule an appt.honda should recall these rear brakes or offer some kind of brake upgrade. *tr
2008 honda accord issues, spark plugs, battery light, and traction light indicator turn on and engine pulsates and stutters, door lock actuator fail before 50k in both driver door and rear driver side. brake rotors are worn down very easily and rear pad wear down faster than front with uneven wear.
2008 honda accord purchased new at gary force honda bowling green ky. first issue: cold start rattle, dealer replaced atc actuator, problem corrected. have replaced brakes on the car 4 times. most recently replaced approximately 1 year ago and now when brakes are applied the steering wheel vibrates worse than a road wagon. at 70,000 miles oil light came on, checked oil and none was on the stick. added oil, took the car to dealer, they replaced vtc actuator but it did not correct the problem. complained again and they performed oil consumption analysis only to tell me it was using less than one quart per one thousand miles and that was the industry standard. a few months later i became more irritated about the problem and complained again. they performed another oil consumption analysis to tell me it was using more than it was previously but less than one quart per 1000 miles and wouldn't do anything. currently the car has 100000 miles on it and yes, the warranty just expired and it's using one quart per 1200 miles. i wrote honda of america a letter and complained. they called but other than kind words, they did nothing. oh and have i mentioned the head lights.... they blink when the heat or air is on. i must not forget that the leather on both the arm rest and console has bubbled up but no signs of wear or damage around the bubbles. and let me not forget the most recent issue: now often times while setting completely still at a stop light and/or going down the road i hear a clicking sound in the steering column. i am not turning the steering wheel when i hear this noise. it just starts clicking, kind of like an electronic click coming from the steering column. oh what a piece of junk honda made when it built the 2008 accord. paid 30,000 for it and i'm sadly disappointed. *tr
General concerns. however i am concerned about the airbag, engine and brakes problem especially. honda has not made us aware of any problems with this vehicle. thankfully we have only had premature replacement of brakes. we are aware of consumer complaints only because we are concerned about our product which we assume to be safe and reliable . you can rely on our qualitymaintenance program, we have been alerted by mail of a pending suit we cannot benefit from class action because we have no incident to report. honda corporate and dealers owe us consumers true and fair information and timely communications . gmc had to kill people before they were found to be irresponsible. consider this a complaint about brakes, failure to take responsibility, failure to notify, regarding other possible problems especially airbags. *tr
Shoddy rear brakes. purchased certified pre owned, and rear brakes were replaced through certification process at approx. 45,000 miles. 10/22/12 rear brakes, rotors and passenger rear caliper replaced at 62,000 miles. rear brakes, rotors and caliper should have lasted many more miles. front brakes fine. *tr
At 25,111 miles brakes were squeaking and wore down. rear brake pads were replaced and cleaned rotors still squeaked. paid $195.00. had a couple of services and complained about brakes but they told me since they were new they will squeak for a while until they break in. finally had enough of the squeaky brakes, went back in for service at 33,037 miles. brakes still squeaking. front pads 7.8mm rear pads 6.2mm. they recommended replace pads again!! and resurface rotors $249.00 special. did not replace!! at 60,601 miles had to replace rear brakes again charge $257.00. *tr
Having tires replaced tech noted rear brakes worn to need replacement. work completed on 09 sep 2011. tires rotated on 29 january 2014. tech advised brake replacement. mileage 45,715. this is a known issue with this model/year accord. less than 20k on second brake job - both sets rear brake failure of "normal" mileage given reasonable use. *tr
If you are driving at any speed over 40 mph and begin to stop; the steering wheel vibrates and the front end has a knocking sound. taking the car in for service multiple times and having this issue noted. i have been told on three different occasion that my rotors are wrapped and need to be turned down. having the rotors turn, soon as i left the lot . the issue still remained. the most offensive remarks made by a honda service rep. is" i have poor driving habits." thinking i was going crazy, i asked a total stranger at my local supermarket driving a 2008 accord. they told me they also have been experiencing the same issue with the car and honda's service dept. i have been dealing with this headache for now 71000 miles, and now refuse to purchase another honda ever. they probably could not give the car to me for free. *tr
1. excessive oil consumption. 2. rear breaks require pads changed after every 15k -17k ml of driving 3. battery failed after 1 1/2 of service, about 20k mi.
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 honda accord. the contact stated while driving 55 mph suddenly the rear driver's side wheel well was engulfed in smoke. the vehicle was taken to a repair facility. the mechanic stated both rear brake calipers were stuck in the rotors. the mechanic stated that the rotors, brake pads, and brake calipers needed to be replaced. the manufacturer and dealer were notified of the failure. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 25,000. the current mileage was 152,000.
