We have classified the 124 complaints from 2007 Honda Accord about AIR BAGS into the following categories.
I received driver and passenger airbag recall notice. very next business day, i called two close by honda dealers to get an appointment to get the airbags fixed, but both said they don't have the parts available to replace and, while they can order it now, it might take couple of weeks to receive them. i am assuming they are aware of these recalls, so i am surprised that they don't have parts available and they will order only when someone calls. and, i will be driving for at least couple of weeks with the risk of having a defective airbag. honda needs to up their game and have these parts available all the time or within a short notice (1-2 days), instead of having customers wait for couple of weeks, that's just very long time to risk driving.

Received recall notice for driver and passender air bag inflators, campaign #jq9 / service bulletin #15-040 from american honda motor co. i called to explain that the nearest dealer was over 2 hours away and the burden was excessive to have the recall fulfilled by a dealer. i requested that i be authorized to have a local repair facility correct the deficiencies. the representative was unwilling to provide meaningful assistance to fulfill my request. she only stated that if i didn't use a honda dealer i could pay out of pocket.

Friday morning (5/15/2015) around 11:00am i was driving in interstate with my brother as passenger and my daughter at back seating on her carseat. i followed a car about 40ft in front of me with the cruising speed 70mph. suddenly i saw a small tire fragment a size of xbox controller and carefully passed in between, seconds after there was a loud bang inside the car i thought the tire was blown out. i slowed down and put on hazard signal and moved my car safely on the side of the road. i noticed the passenger side curtain airbag deployed. i safely made a visual check on my tire, front bumper, any unusual but everything was okay. the passenger seat belt lockout, side passenger seat blown out. driving honda accord ex-l v6 year: 2007

I purchased/financed a used- 2007 honda accord on 4/2/2015. outside of an airbag recall notice received in june, there were 4 consecutive electrical malfunctions that occurred and is currently pending - 1) rear driver-side window motor seized, 2) both keyless fobs stopped working and requires reprogramming, according to mechanic, 3) cd/aux button no longer functioning, and 4) rear driver, passenger, and front passenger-side window motors have all seized and no longer functioning. it should be noted that the salesman did not disclose physical front bumper damage on sale date, and did not offer any corrective action upon notification. vehicle was stationary in dealership's possession over a year - from sale date. however, they (owner/salesman) guaranteed the condition of the vehicle as above standard and recommended extended warranty.

In march 2015, i received a safety recall notice from honda (nhtsa recall 14v-351) advising me to have the driver side air bag inflator replaced at my local honda dealer at no cost. i immediately called honda of downtown los angeles to schedule a replacement of my vehicle's inflator. i was told by their service center that they would order the part and i would be contacted when it arrived. i called back two weeks later as i had not received a call and they said they were still waiting on the recalled part to arrive and assured me i would get a call. a month later i had still not heard anything, so i called again and was again told that i would be called when the part arrived. not until july 2015 did i get two new safety recall notices from honda (nhtsa recall 15v-320 & 15v370). one recall was for the same driver side inflator in addition to the passenger side air bag inflator. i called diamond honda of glendale to schedule service, and while the required parts needed to be ordered, a service appointment was made for one week later. in short, i received a recall notice from honda in march 2015 and it took me contacting two different service centers multiple times over a four month period to have the recall appointment scheduled. .. updated 09/30/15*bf

I received a letter from honda automobile division on september 2014 regarding the honda accord recall for the driver front airbag inflator. (nhtsa recall 14v-351) because of this i contacted the honda dealer bella international in san juan pr on october 22, 2014. i was told that the part will arrive within a month and a half and that i would be receiving a call to make the appointment for the repair. that never happened. i called three months and a week later on january 28, 2015 and they told me that the they were unsure if the part was available under their inventory at the ponce dealer. i was told that it was honda automobile division fault and that i need to wait again for an unknown period of time. i ask if i could call the ponce dealer and they gave me the name of a person that apparently handles their part inventory. that was it. in addition they did not offer any appointment at other dealer or to change the part to fix the problem. again i was told that i would be contacted later to make the appointment nothing more. because of this i decided to make a complaint because i do not want to suffer any injuries while i wait because of their lack of responsibility and incompetence by their part. *tr

My vehicle is noted on honda.com as possibly having an airbag defect. airbags made by takarta. when i did a search on the vin the status read: recall incomplete. i'm not sure what this means. do you have any additional information about this recall? i heard on channel 9 news in washington, dc today that recently more vehicles, in the millions, have been added to this recall. thanks for your help.
How can honda not recall all takata airbags? how does it make sense to limit the recall to cars driven in regions of the country with extended hot and humid conditions? other regions of the country have seasons with extended hot and humid conditions that put the occupants at serious risk with these airbags. *tr
I called o'donnell honda to see if my car is affected in the recent recall due to airbag issues and was told nhtsa released the information before it should have been released and not to take it seriously. i believe where safety is concerned it should always be taken serious. please investigate. i am concerned that they have summarily dismissed other callers. they were not helpful to me. they could not tell me if my car was affected and said to just wait and see if i get a letter from honda. i have tried to research to see if my car is being recalled and can't because i don't know if i have a 4 cylinder or 6 and the dealer couldn't tell me!!!!!! *tr

Takata recall. owned a 2007 honda accord in 2013 in south florida. in 2014, i got into a low speed, in city, motor vehicle accident where tires locked up and slid into vehicle in front of me, the airbags deployed and exploded spraying debris everywhere and leaving a gash on my face. vehicle was reported as totaled by insurance. i starting suffering from migraines shortly after and was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor a couple of years later. *bf consumer stated they later repaired and resold the vehicle after telling me it was a total loss. updated 9/4/18*jb
I drove my car over a bump or a debri and my side curtain airbag deployed i brought to dealership and told them there is a posible sensor malfunction. dealesrhip accused me been in a accident and i need to file with my insurance. i told them if i was it will show on record accident and police report. and i cant file insurance without incident. i call honda america they said there is nothing they can do about it and i been driving without safety device since
I have filed complaints twice before. out of 251 complaints(reported by consumers who know there is such a complaint mechanism), 42 are related to airbag issues. of the 42 there have been 19 injuries reported for the 2007 honda accord alone, not having researched other models. from 2006 100% of vehicle air bags have been equipped with the required advanced frontal air bag which sensors the weight, height of front passengers along with how much force and when air bags should deploy. why then has my family member and i suffered life altering injuries in a minor left side (not frontal) scrape accident? repair to vehicle was only $800.00. is anyone reading these complaints???? if people are lucky enough to not have shrapnel thrown at them, they are experiencing complete failure of air bags to deploy or air bags deploying from "possibly hitting a rock in the road" while driving at 45 to 65 mph on a major highway or having air bags spew chemicals and deploying at forces that do not dictate the situation. in any of the situations people are getting seriously injured. how many complaints and injuries does it take to have authorities realize there is a much bigger problem going on? *tr
I had previously filed a complaint 7/31/2013. id number: 10532958. due to the recent recall of air bags honda had purchased by a certain manufacturer and the time frame being allowed to honda to rectify, i felt the need to update my complaint. the impact to the car in from was so minimal they did not have a dent, our airbags deployed at 30-35 mph, reading other complaints, yes the sound was horrific, likely to hitting a brick wall, the seat belt tension rod snapped at the impact, my eyelashes were burnt and at the time i reported the complaint i was under the impression that i had suffered two herniate disc's from this. far worse, one disc had herniated so badly it was pressing against my spinal cord, i was at a 50% risk of becoming completely paralyzed. i had cervical disc removal surgery. too many complaints about this, either exploding without cause with debris and chemical causing injuries and or not operating at all, peoples lives are at stake, honda should not be allowed to take their time in assessing these types of damages. *tr
Had to stop short when coming around a bend as a vehicle ahead made a sudden illegal left. hit last vehicle in line, did not damage car hit at all. my car was damaged left front panel as i swerved left while braking, body damage was only 800.00 approximately. air bag damage 5800.00 approximately. air bags deployed, mother broken rib, self burnt eyelashes and neck disc injuries. *tr
Driving 10mph and just made a left hand turn when the driver side, side curtain airbag deployed. the bag hit the operator in the head /neck area causing pain to his neck. no accident occurred or no obstructions in the road where hit to cause deployment. *tr
When i have an adult passenger sitting in my 07 accord front passenger seat i occasionally see the passenger airbag off light lit up. the passenger is about 95 pounds and i believe it should be sufficient to keep ensure airbags are kept alive for an grown up adult. i am very concerned about this and worried that airbag may fail to deploy. i request honda and nhtsa to consider this complaint seriously and investigate asap before it is too serious. *tr
Tl* the contact owned a 2007 honda accord. while at a yield sign, another vehicle rear ended the contact's vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained head, neck, and shoulder injuries that required medical attention. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a towing lot. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the vin was included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v370000 and 15v320000 (air bags). the vehicle was destroyed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
I was driving on the interstate with the flow of traffic, approx 60 mph, when there was a sudden explosion, and smoke filled the inside of my honda accord. i maintained driving control, and pulled over to the side of the road, after gaining my composure. the passenger side curtain airbags were covering my entire front and rear passenger side. the headliner was ripped, along with the passenger front seat. i realized that the airbags had deployed for no apparent reason. *tr
On july 7th, 2012, i was driving south on route 113 near milford, de with my wife and going the speed limit when the side airbags in our accord suddenly deployed for no discernible reason. we did not hit anything, the conditions were clear as was the road. there were no other vehicles in close proximity to us. it was a frightening experience that very well could have resulted in an accident, and my wife sustained abrasions to her arm. we contacted honda about the issue and they had us bring our vehicle to a local body shop for an inspection (we lived in hoboken, nj at the time), after which they informed us that a sensor underneath the vehicle showed signs of distress/being struck, which triggered the deployment of the airbags. we were skeptical that something we could not/did not feel would have caused this, but after much back and forth with honda, it was clear that the only option we had to get our vehicle functioning again was to file an insurance claim, which we did, resulting in out-of-pocket costs to us in the form of our deductible and other related expenses. given the number of instances of faulty airbag deployments, with honda being one of the usual suspects, we wanted to file a complaint to formally log yet another instance. *tr
