Tl* the contact owns a 2003 honda accord. while driving 70 mph on the interstate, the contact was cut off by another vehicle. the contact lost control and crashed into the concrete median. the air bags failed to deploy. a police report was filed. there were no injuries. the vehicle was driven home where an independent mechanic repaired the vehicle. the failure mileage was approximately 240,000.

Takata recall i was driving down the road when i lost control of my car. this resulted in my air bag being deployed as i came into collision with a guard rail on a city street. luckily, only the passenger side airbag deployed. this resulted in my windshield being cracked.

My son was driving on turnpike ramp. wheel seemed to lock up and he lost control of the vehicle. car was going about 15-20 mph. he hit guard rail and both airbags deployed. the damage was not extensive enough (no hood damage, some bumper damage, no lights cracked). i had called and spoke with a service man named george who said they are overwhelmed and they do not have the passenger side airbag parts in my recall and he would call me. he did not and this accident occurred. now i am at risk of them totaling the car due to airbags deploying that they should have resolved in the first place. not a happy camper with no relief from coggin honda - who could have killed my son in this accident.

There was a recall on my airbag inflator's and i went to the dealership they said that they took care of it and then a few weeks later i was in a car accident i was hit in the front of my car and the airbags did not deploy i feel like this is very unsafe honda is the brand that i trusted and they failed me

My 2003 honda accord lx crashed on 10/01/2016 about 18 months after i had my airbag serviced at a local honda dealer 4/7/2015. when i got my car back from the dealer, the driver door had no power and could not be opened remotely or with the power lock control on the driver door. more importantly, no safety signals came on when the car started. i called the dealer and they told me i had to pay $80 to have it checked; i then called american honda customer service, who only documented the complaint and took no action to remedy mechanical mistake by honda dealer. i was driving on a downhill curve on a wet road after a rain. when i saw a slower car ahead of me, i gently applied the brake to maintain a constant following distance. the car drifted to the left toward oncoming traffic. but when i tried steer to get back to the right lane and tried to press on the brake, it locked up, then the car went into neutral and i had no brake and steering resistance was completely lax. my car went off road and crashed into the woods. the airbag did not deploy. i was confined in bed with pain one whole day. my transmission had locked up, then went into neutral, twice before on 1/14/2015 in the middle of traffic, and on 9/15/2016 in my driveway. we never received a letter from honda for the transmission recall; however, we did receive letters regarding the airbag recall, the ignition switch recall, and the wiper motor recall. a year ago, the recalls came up using my vin#. the database now shows no recall for my vehicle at all. after my car crash, i had it towed to honda dealership on 10/4/2016 for repair estimate. i left my car and title with dealership; less than 48 hours later i called to get car back for crash investigation and lawsuit, the car had been destroyed by honda dealer closing all further inquiries. american honda took no responsibility when i contacted them. *tr

Traveling on the freeway approximately 35 mph. 5 car pile up, me being the last car hit the person in front of me. my airbag didn't deploy however the passenger side did.

I had a car accident in a parking lot on september 8, 2016. i was turning and hit a pole on the front fender of the drivers side of my car. i was going approximately 15 miles an hour. the airbag deployed and broke both bones in my right arm. it fractures my radius & ulna. minutes late the passenger side airbag went off and broke the windshield. i was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where i had surgery. they had to put two metal plates & screws in my arm. i was in the hospital for 3 days and out of work on medical until november 28, 2016 i still have pain in my arm and fingers. arthritis has set in my fore finger . i really feel that these airbags were defective. i'd appreciate it if you would investigate my claim. thank you, updated 03/15/17*lj *tr

The air bags light came on two weeks ago and goes away and returns specially after driving the vehicle in a full day of driving the light comes up and will not go away. i took vehicle to the honda dealer where i purchased it and was advised that the computer for the airbags is dying down and needs to be replaced but honda will not fix problem. i was also advised that if vehicle is involved in a front end accident the air bags will not work. i advised them that this is a safety issue and honda should replace at no cost but the representative just said if you want it fixed you will need to pay $ 541.00 and turned around and requested for my car to be returned back to me. i am really disappointed at honda and its personnel because they just don't care about the public like they say in there tv commercials.

Takata recall this is my college student daughter's car and we are very concerned. her airbag light is on and we recently read there was an airbag recall on this model that can lead to serious injury or death!!!. when we called curry honda, sierra said her vin number was not in the recall. i want clarification on this asap. are all 2003 hondas in danger? since her vin couldn't be "located" on the recall list, we want honda to pay for a diagnosis since her car fall in this category. she has an automatic (not a stick shift) 2003 honda coupe

Tl* the contact owned a 2003 honda accord. while driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly swerved without warning. the contact was unable to regain control of the vehicle and it flipped over several times. the air bags did not deploy. the contact received injuries to the back, shoulder, and head, which required medical treatment. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

Takata recall--our family owns an 2003 honda acura and the driver side front airbag has been recalled. we have called acura client services 4 times.(1-844-758-9235) each time we were promised a call back for an appointment to have the airbag replaced. as of today, we have never received a call back. the last call to acura was made on friday, april 22. i asked to speak to a supervisor. the supervisor's name was brett. he guaranteed me someone would call us back by monday evening on apr. 25. we have not received a call yet. please help us! thank you

Takata recall. i live in texas. i purchased the vehicle in texas. my vehicle is registered in texas. my 2003 honda accord is listed in a document entitled annex a as a priority group 1 recall for both hah and non-hah. i contacted honda and they referred me to dealership. the dealership, vandergriff honda (817-299-2048) refused to replace the air bag and told me the vehicle was not on the list and the air bag was perfectly safe.

I was driving my 2003 honda accord when i had to stop on hunters creek blvd traffic light to make left on john young pkwy i was the first car facing the traffic camera after waiting the light to turn green for more then one minute when my passenger airbag decide to explode breaking down my windshield and release gas on my car .thank god no one got injured .so i took the car to honda dealer which they advised me to contact american honda which i did and they issues a case for the incident (case number 04601451) and he told me somebody would contact me in 24 hours and nobody did so i called them and they told me that the manager case will call me back , so when he called me back he was still acting like he doesn't care about what happened to me and he told me that he has a lot of cases before me and l have to wait . i don't feel safe driving this car i got a feeling the driver airbag going to blow up on my face when i'm driving and can cost me my life or my family .please help me and my family be safe . thank you so much [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Takata recall my car was bought in florida and is in priority group 1. however, it has not been recalled. how do i get honda to recall the car and replace the airbags?

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 honda accord. while accelerating from a stop light, the contact's vehicle was struck on the front driver side fender by another vehicle. the front driver side air bag failed to deploy. a police report was filed. the contact sustained a neck injury, which did not require medical attention. the vehicle was previously remedied under nhtsa campaign number: 15v320000 (air bags). the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 175,000.

Tl* the contact owned a 2003 honda accord. while driving approximately 20 mph, the air bags deployed independently and caused the vehicle to crash into a pole. a police report was filed. the contact sustained broken ribs and injuries to the chest, both arms, and both shoulders that required medical attention. the vehicle was destroyed and towed to a junkyard. the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign numbers: 14v700000 (air bags), 15v320000 (air bags), and 15v370000 (air bags). the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 100,000. the vin was not provided.

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 honda accord. while the contact's son was driving on an icy road at an unknown speed, the vehicle slid off the highway, over an embankment, and crashed into a tree. the contact stated that the crash was weather related and involved a lot of vehicles on the highway. the contact stated that only the passenger side air bag deployed. a police report was not filed. the driver sustained only minor scrapes that did not require medical attention. the contact called the insurance company who declared the vehicle as destroyed and towed it away. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. prior to the crash, the vehicle was repaired under a recall for the air bags. the failure mileage was approximately 170,000. updated 03/18/16*lj *cn

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 honda accord. while driving 30 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated. the contact stated that the air bag light dimmed temporarily when the seat belt buckle was jiggled. the vehicle did not experience any issues until after it was repaired for an air bag recall. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the nhtsa campaign number was unknown. the failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Takata recall: an indicator light on the dash periodically indicates a possible problem with the airbag system. i never know when it's going to light up and it does eventually turn off. my vehicle is not on a recall list for takata airbags, while i believe i have takata airbags. this happens rather in motion or stationary and seems to happen more often in warmer weather.

Takata recall - driver's side was completed at lia honda, albany ny on 12/16/15. passenger side was not fixed - "unable to do recall. passenger side door will not open. customer is aware..." fixing the passenger side front door to open is not a viable option - too costly. passenger side rear door does open and the front passenger side seat could be removed. this would provide access to the passenger side dash/airbag. what are my options for having the passenger side airbag recall completed? my call to american honda (909-664-9134) was not particularly helpful - if i fixed the door to provide access, the recall could be completed - but i did receive a case #[xxx]. the title to the car is in my wife's name, [xxx], but i, [xxx], am the primary driver at this time and so i am handling the recall. Takata recall - car not on recall list but dash airbag warning light is on constantly. have been waiting for airbag recall notice for over 2 years with light on.

Takata recall. i got into an accident back in 2015, airbags did not deploy.

My son was involved in a single car roll over accident on 10/10/2015. he was traveling about 40 miles per hour when the road surface changed from asphalt to gravel. he lost control of the car and the vehicle did one complete rotation landing back on its tires. the seat belt did not hold causing his head to hit the inside roof of vehicle and throwing him from side to side as the vehicle rolled over. my son suffered a l1 burst fracture, damaging his spinal cord, which left him a paraplegic confined to a wheelchair . airbag did not deploy, which due to the fact that it was a side rollover, sensors may not have been trigged. the car did however, have damage to the front, left front, left rear and right front of the vehicle. my son was 25 at the time of the accident.

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 honda accord. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 15v370000 (air bags) and 15v320000 (air bags); however, the part needed to repair the vehicle was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer was not notified of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure.

I received the recall notice in august 2015 for the airbags. after taking my vehicle in to the dealer to be repaired, when i picked it up and drove about 2 miles from the dealer the airbag light came on again. so i called the dealer on my way home and told the service tech that the light was on and he said to bring it back in the morning. when i got to the dealer, the light had went off. and they stated it had to be on before they could even look at it! so for the past 3 weeks i've been driving around with this light staying on, then going off for 10 minutes then coming back on. i don't think my vehicle was repaired. the light wasn't on when i took it in for the recall repair and now it's on? something's not right!

Takata recall: i want to know why the takata airbag in my car is not being recalled "at this time." as i was told by honda in torrence. "at this time" is a lousy answer and i hardly drive this vehicle out of fear. it is 2003 and i have 51,000 miles on it. i like this car but i am being treated like my life is not worth anything. i want an answer as to why my takata airbag is not being replaced. perhaps the media can help me.

Tl* the contact owned a 2003 honda accord. while driving at an unknown speed, the contact had to swerve to avoid another vehicle and crashed into a concrete divider on the highway. the contact was taken to the emergency room where his face was swollen and his nose bone was cracked. the contact believed his face was wounded by the shrapnel that came out of the driver's side air bag. the police were present, but a report was not filed. the vehicle was deemed totaled by the contact's insurance company and was towed to a scrap yard. the manufacturer and dealer were not contacted. the cause of the failure was not determined. the failure mileage was 100,000.

I took the vehicle to get the airbag safety recall done. when the dealer (autonation honda 2999 west 104th ave. westminster, co 80234) advised me the car was ready to pick up and the safety recall was complete...the airbag light was still illuminated on the dash. i pointed this out to the dealer and he told me they made the repair, but they will charge me to turn the light off (an additional $99 for an alleged no charge safety recall). the warning light advises the driver the vehicle is safe, or not safe. right now the light advises the drive the repair is not complete. i do not believe the repair was done to safety standard with the light still illuminated.

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 honda accord. while driving 55 mph, the front passenger side curtain air bag deployed without warning. the air bag warning light illuminated. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 98,000.

Pursuant to recall notice issued by american honda motor co., inc. (dated july 2015) regarding driver's front air bag inflator, the referenced vehicle was taken to an authorized honda dealer where at the replacement driver's front air bag inflator was installed. following replacement, the air bag system warning light remains on most of the time. sometimes it goes off after starting but then comes on while driving. it's not only distracting, but frightening not knowing whether the inflator will detonate. it's also unnerving having to drive without an airbag system as a result of the recall. can we have the old inflator put back in, at least there would be a functioning air bag system.

I was driving 40 mph when i hit the truck. my car was not drivable front hood is bent down to the engine and my air bag did not deploy. my chest and my face hit the steering wheels good thing i have my two hand on the steering wheels.

Checking on air bag recall

On 7/21/15 i took my honda to the dealer at 9213 harford road, 21234, for safety recall 15v-320 & 370, and it was repaired. the srs light came on intermittently and they scanned for code and said that the srs unit was malfunctioning and was not covered under the recall. a repair price was quoted of $735. after further investigation, i found out that many other honda owners had the same problem and were quite upset over this safety malfunction. i wrote a letter to honda customer service asking for their assistance in covering the cost of repair or "lifetime" warranty coverage. this is definitely a safety issue and nothing to do with the maintenance of my vehicle which has only 64,000 miles. a rep responded by phone and said there was nothing they could do because the car was "old." whether the car is older or new, this is still a "safety" problem that many owners are experiencing and should be addressed by the honda company or the nhtsa. the dealer did not give me a code number after the scan so i don't even know if it was correct. i request your assistance in checking out the safety issue on the srs units in the honda accord. i don't know if anyone has been hurt because of this malfunction, but it could happen. i would appreciate a recall and assistance in replacing the unit, if that is the cause. i purchased this vehicle new and have not had many problems outside of a few recalls. i plan to keep it as it is not in my budget to acquire a new vehicle at this time. safety of honda vehicle or any vehicle is of utmost importance in their marketing.

Purchased 2003 honda accord from a local car dealer for $5,000.00 on 4/8/15. picked up tags, title and registration on 4/20 and was planning on taking vehicle to inspection on 5/2. on 5/1/15 as i was pulling out of a wawa parking lot at 20mph and the passenger air bag deployed without any type of impact to the vehicle. i had the car towed home and took it to the dealer the next day. the dealer pulled up honda recalls for 2003 honda accords and advised us to take the car to a honda dealer. we then had the car towed to honda of turnersville. they informed us that honda did have a recall but it did not pertain to this vin#. seriously???? i got an estimate from them to repair which was $3890.00 but they said they would not fix it due the liability. we contacted honda corporate and they sent an inspector out 8 days later. the inspector sent his report to corporate and they informed us that the air bag was not defective. really? since the date of purchase we have travelled a total 0f 429 miles and now it appears that we are out the $5,000.oo that we spent for this vehicle and have no car. we asked for a copy of the report from the honda inspector but were told that we could not have one because they came out as a courtesy.

I have a recall on both driver and passenger air bag. i have called the honda dealership in grand island nebraska 7 times and tried scheduling online 2 times to have the recall fixed it has been almost 90 days now, and i have yet to have them call back with a appointment. i drive this car 45 miles on the highway daily and do not feel safe. the letter i was sent in january 2015 said to give the dealership 60 days to remedy the problem. i'm very concerned about the complete disregard for the safety of not only myself but other drivers and passengers in these vehicles. *tr

No accident \ i am reporting inaccurate information on this website and corresponding honda website regarding airbag recall on this vehicle. there are no options 2 or 4 from the honda website setup for recall. there is no way to register this vehicle for airbag replacement (and we recently purchased it used so it may not be properly registered at honda corporate - though we have had it serviced at our local honda dealer). this process of registering for airbag replacement should be available 24/7. no excuses. honda is not being proactive. *tr
