Takata recall
The dashboard is cracking on both the driver and passenger side. the crack in the passenger side goes right to where the airbag is.
Dash severely cracking. has not been involved in any accidents it just started on it's own and is gradually getting worse. i notice it more and more every time i get in my truck. i noticed it probably sometime last year. there is also a facebook group with so many other people this is happening too. i think gmc is using cheap defective materials! https://m.facebook.com/groups/251892298253/
The dash is cracked in several places and around the air bag.
I'm a 2011gmc yukon owner that has a cracked dash that in only a matter of time is going to affect the air bag. when i reached out to gmc, they told that i would have to wait for an accident to happen before they would look into the problem.
Multiple cracks in the dash, including one by the passenger airbag; truck has been garage kept for entire life, so it is not from sun damage. there are many complaints of the same issue online, and every time i ride in a lyft or uber yukon or tahoe that is a 2007-2014 model, i see the same cracks - this issue is prolific.
The dash cover is cracking and is broken. this is happening close to the passenger airbag. i'm just waiting for the airbag to explode while i am driving. this is so unsafe!! my kids are in danger.
Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2011 gmc yukon. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. mark christopher auto center (2131 e convention center way, ontario, ca) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.
Takata recall i have been trying to get this recall remedied by to no avail. i am constantly being told remedy not yet available.
The dashboard has cracked in several places that appear to be in danger of projecting shards of hard plastic when the airbags deploy. these cracks began on their own and not as a result of abuse or accident.
Dashboard is cracking over instrument cluster and at two corners of airbag. appears to be a rampant issue on gm vehicle 2007 to 2013. no relief or help from gm, very concerned what might happen with cracked dash during airbag deployment. *tr
Cracked dash on my 2011 yukon. when i paid almost $50,000 for a new vehicle i expect it to last longer than 70,000 miles before it starts breaking. my dash is cracking in the same place as the rest of the world. it is only a matter of time when my air bag is going to explode because of the dash and one of my children will be injured. is that what it's going to take?

Takata recall gm and takata have not resolved this remedy. i've checked twice a year for the past four years and get nowhere on replacing the defective recall from the gm dealer.
