We have classified the 17 complaints from 2001 GMC Yukon about SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC into the following categories.
Consumer called and complained about brakes, intermittently at every 600 miles average, the abs system need to be replaced at consumer's expenses. dealer indicated that consumer needed to clean the sensor and the bearing,. also, they stated that gmc and nhtsa has a tsb on this issues. *ak
Brakes would lock up for no apparent reason. no warnings were given this continued several times with the dealership continually saying that there was no problem until i dropped the vehicle off at the dealership with the brakes (all four) completely locked up.*ak
While braking on a rough surface at construction zone abs activated, causing nearly complete loss of stopping ability.*ak
Multiple failures; a/c odors, door lock, suspension alignment and brakes. *bf there were problems with the following: weather strip was loose, the a/c blew warm, the belts squeaked, there was a mildew odors, the window regulator, the front seat belt squeaked, the door panel, the steering wheel rattled, drive shaft, accelerator pedal, the wipers were noisy, the hinge pin on the radio was loose, engine noises, a/c drain would not drain at times until the passenger door was closed/water lead and caused by the left front floorboard. recall#01v159000, 02v253000, 03v094000. *sc
Intermittent stalling when making a right turn. dealer was notified, and informed consumer that they could not duplicate the problem.*ak consumer states dealer loaned a vehicle data recorder, however problem has not occurred since august 6th, after vehicle stalls it will start back up without a problem. abs experienced erratic operation. front passenger seat belt needed replaced. *slc
While braking on a rough road, abs came on without cause and created a total loss of braking ability.*ak
