Tl* the contact owns a 2012 gmc sierra 1500. while driving in reverse and exiting a parking space, the power steering malfunctioned and the steering wheel became very difficult to turn in either direction. after shutting the vehicle off and restarting the engine, the power steering operated normally. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to duplicate the failure and diagnose the cause of the malfunction. the manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. the local dealer was not notified. the failure mileage was 36,000. the vin was invalid. *tt consumer stated steering wheel failure happened again on nov.27,2018 and remained locked. after consumer restarted the vehicle the steering wheel became unlocked. vin is invalid.*jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 gmc sierra 1500. the contact stated that the brakes functioned independently even when the accelerator pedal was applied. also, the traction control warning indicator illuminated. the failure occurred approximately five times. the vehicle was taken to bill marsh automotive group (1621 s garfield ave, traverse city, mi) where it was diagnosed that the steering wheel positioning sensor failed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
