As a proud owner of a Ford Ranger, you might, like me, have contemplated some modifications and enhancements to augment the aesthetic and performance of the truck. For the past year, I've diligently compiled information from numerous forums, articles, and discussions with fellow Ranger owners. My research has amassed a substantial knowledge base, spotlighting various accessories that I aim to integrate into my vehicle. Here, I share my aftermarket accessory plan for my Ford Ranger.
The first item on my agenda is a Tonneau Cover. It's an excellent investment for truck owners as it safeguards your pickup bed and secures any cargo from inclement weather and other hazards.
Next in line are nerf bars, also known as running boards or steps. Given their popularity among Ranger owners, it's unsurprising to see them on every other Ford Ranger on the road. Considering the vehicle's height, nerf bars provide ease of entry, particularly for those who might struggle.
A key enhancement that could dramatically augment the overall appeal of my vehicle is off-road wheels. Regrettably, the factory-installed wheels lack the aesthetic appeal I desire. Upsizing my tires and widening the stance of my vehicle isn't just for looks but serves practical off-roading needs too. Driving through rough terrains becomes simpler with robust off-road wheels.
Moreover, larger tires do more than enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the truck. The aggressive tread pattern of off-road tires enables easier navigation through muddy and rocky terrains. Also, it provides additional support for carrying extra weight in the truck bed.
Yet, what would a truck modification be without a lift kit? Most truck owners, myself included, enjoy elevating their vehicles. The stock ride height of the Ford Ranger isn't particularly impressive, so a lift kit is on my agenda. However, as this modification demands certain mechanical skills, I plan to enlist professional assistance to avoid potential damage to my suspension system.
An additional modification I'm contemplating is replacing the dual front grille with a custom, sporty grille, mirroring the formidable look of the Ford F-150 Raptor. According to my conversations with other Ranger owners, this modification can be easily done with common hand tools and the guidance of a few YouTube videos.
Given that I plan to install larger wheels and tires, thereby widening the stance of my vehicle, the tires will protrude beyond the wheel wells. Hence, I'm considering adding fender flares, which provide the necessary space for larger wheels and tires. I've found some kits perfectly compatible with my Ford Ranger model year. Wheel fitment calculators can help ascertain the maximum wheel size that can be accommodated without causing any rubbing or cutting issues.
Lastly, I intend to opt for aftermarket LED headlights and tail lights, with a subtle tint. They significantly enhance road visibility at night, outperforming the factory headlights in terms of brightness and reach.
