'takata recall' i have been trying to get the passenger side takata recalled airbags replaced for the past two years now. i have been calling the local ford dealerships and they all keep telling me that they have no new update for me and can not replace my passenger side airbags. i received a notice now from tk holdings that takata is filing bankruptsy and i need to get my airbags replaced now. i have called ford headquarters and ford dealerships and they continue to refuse to replace my passenger side airbags. it has been over two years since i received the letter from ford saying they will replace my airbags. this is very frustrating because of the safety concern and ford keeps dismissing my calls with no date as to when i can get this fixed. i want to file this formal complaint and have this corrected. over two years waiting to get a safety feature resolved is unacceptable. i hope this office does not give me the run around as well.
Takata recall. i am just horrified that i have been driving my vehicle for 6 years not knowing i could be in danger for those metal pieces that are released in case of the airbag deploying. i have had accidents before and just the thought of that makes me not want to drive daily which is impossible. i know they are trying to do this as soon as possible but how much longer a person can take their chances? this is absurd! they should at least disable the airbags or try fixing the cars that the problem happens on the driver's side (as in my case) i really don't know what to do, they just tell us to wait and in the meantime we're at the "universe's mercy" or luck or whatever you want to call it. this is completely unsafe, mainly if you are driving daily and taking roads. i would like to know what is the solution because time is ticking.
Takata recall i am at a loss as to what to do regarding my vehicle's defective takata air bags. my vehicle is a 2010 mustang. i have contacted the dealership where i purchased my vehicle and also ford motor company and get the same response from all - they don't have the parts to replace my defective air bags. how much longer do i have to wait? i live in the humid midwest st. louis area and my car has been sitting in my garage since last may when i received the notice of the recall because i am terrified to drive it for fear of being killed by my defective air bag should i have an accident. this is unacceptable. why can't we force takata to pay for a company in the united states to manufacture air bags that don't explode and send sharp metal fragments flying at the cars' occupants? and now i'm learning takata manipulated and altered testing data even after the recalls began and deaths had occurred. simply shameful and unacceptable. u.s. vehicle owners should be able to trust their vehicles are safe and when/if a problem that could result in death is discovered, that problem should be remedied in a timely manner. i have signed up for your emails with news of any updates on the takata air bags but all the news i'm receiving is disheartening because it seems like nothing is being done. i know there are a lot of vehicles on this recall but i'm concerned about one - mine. thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide. *tr

My vent has a loud clicking noise every time i start the car up, it last for about 15 seconds. my air bag light stays illuminated on my console and will not go off. *tr
The driver side airbag deployed when the vehicle came to a hard stop. *tr
I rear ended a large jacked-up truck that had a steel tube bumper at 50mph. the trucks bumper grazed the top of my front bumper and did extensive damage to my front end where the radiator exploded and the hood is touching the engine. but my airbag did not deploy at 50mph! when i hit the truck my car completely shut off right after the impact, but so did my abs, advancetrac traction control and lights and chimes started to go off. if my car shut down due to the impact at 50mph why didn't my airbags go off? thank goodness no one was injured, but someone else may not be so lucky. with a lot more jacked up trucks and steel pipe bumpers i think ford and other car manufactures need to focus on a new safety feature and not just rely on the bottom section of the bumper getting hit for the airbags to deploy. my entire front end is pushed into the engine, but the bumper is intact except some scrapes on the top. i'm just scared to know that the airbags didn't go off at 50mph with that kind of damage on a 2010 vehicle!! *tr
Takara inflator passenger seat no recall yet for this . can't trade in the car anywhere still making payments for a car that is not safe to drive
Received notice of defective airbag. have been contacting dealer since notice received and they say not parts available and for the forseeable future.
Bought a 2010 mustang gt500 convertible on feb 18 2010. since then i have had two of the same issues with problems shifting the transmission to second gear and fifth gear. it is in the shop now for the second time trying to fix this problem. also, in march, my vehicle was struck by a car from the rear with no airbag deployment. the car was in the ford service shop getting the transmission checked before the work was done on the car to fix the rear bumper. (the transmission had an issue before the wreck). on july 24 around 930 pm my passenger seat airbag deployed on my passenger with 0 impact to the vehicle. the vehicle was then brought to the service to have the tranny checked for the second time and i mentioned this airbag problem at the time i came in for the service appt. ( the night of the incident i had the police file a report and i have a file number for this, after the file was filed, i called and left a message for the dealership stating this happened) . ford, since has said that to contact my insurance company because there is nothing further they can do. i have an adjuster due to lafayette ford in fayetteville, nc on the 4th of aug. i have researched 3 other vehicles with this problem : 2008 mustang, and 2010 ford escapes then my 2010 gt500 mustang shelby. my passenger was injured and is in a sling. she received medical attention via military doctors on ft. bragg, nc. the passenger was not a relative and is seeking jag's council. *tr
