Check engine light came on. codes indicated a transmission clutch issue. online researching revealed this to be a frequent issue with mt vehicle type. problem consistantly occurs when transmission kicks into passing gear or on prolonged trips (30 minutes to and 1 hour of driving time) using cruise control. this began occurring around november 15th and still occurs if i drive more than 30 minutes. check engine light resets after the car sits unused for a day or two.

Initial ignition of the car results in engine stall out post abnormal ignition time. fusion will display "power run active" then "press brake to start". this will repeat after another ignition attempt and re-show the same messages on the dashboard. after a third ignition attempt the engine does not stall out. the problem is not a sudden onset but initial symptoms of the issue is that the car will stall out after 10 seconds of driving. initial re-ignition post stall results in normal function of the car without extra issue. however, this event becomes increasingly common over time until it simply stalls out immediately post ignition. despite multiple trips to a ford certified professional mechanic, no codes are given by the computer which renders diagnosis of the faulty part or cause of the issue near impossible. problem may present itself as faulty alternator, battery, or starter. however, even after replacement of any possibly faulty aforementioned parts the problem still persists.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. while operating the vehicle, a transmission warning indicator remained illuminated and the vehicle shook and vibrated. also, the vehicle decelerated and several unknown warning indicators were displayed. the vehicle was taken to town and country ford (6015 preston hwy, louisville, ky), but the cause of the failure was not determined. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 65,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fusion. after the vehicle was refueled at a fuel station, it failed to engage in any gear and the shifter did not move. the contact turned the vehicle off, waited approximately two minutes, restarted the vehicle and it resumed normal operation. the vehicle was driven to van horn ford (1000 e summit ave, oconomowoc, wi 53066) where they just advised the contact to call nhtsa. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 82,689.
While operating my vehicle from a stop to a rolling position, the transmission is not propelling the car forward like it should. i compare it to a manual transmission scenario where the clutch isn't released all the way, so the rpms rev-up, but the car moves forward a very slow pace. this has been going on for about 2 months now. nothing seems to resolve the issue. this occurs everyday, regardless of engine temperature or weather.
When driving the vehicle will give a notification in the dash about low coolant- service required. the vehicle will then 'shut off' in the middle of no (highway, city road, or even parking lot) where and will say it's over heated. turn the vehicle off and then back on and it runs just fine for over 20 minutes and does it again. had taken to the local ford dealership and they 'fixed' the problem that lasted a week- they changed the thermostat, hoses, sensors.

My vehicle was parked in front of the gas pump. when i got ready to leave the store i tried to put my car in drive. the shifter would not move out of park. on the dash it showed the car was in neutral and the car acted as if it were in neutral. the emergency brake had to be put on once it was pushed away from the gas pumps. the car then had to be towed home because there was and still is no fix for the recall on my vehicle. the recall was issued in may and there is still no remedy but tge dealership insisted that i pay out of pocket for a temporary fix then be reimbursed later....if there was any kind of fix even a temporary one my vehicle shouldve just been fixed. i am not at fault here.

My vehicle is having issues with my car not going into park. last week i got home pulled in my driveway. i tried to put my car in park but the gear shift would not move. it was stuck in the drive mode. the only way i was able to stop my car from rolling into my house was by using the emergency brake. this is the second extremely dangerous recall with this vehicle. previously i had a recall with the back passenger door latch. driving with my children one particular day and the door opens. my personal opinion and based on my experience the 2013 ford fusion is a safety hazard and has not been manufactured properly.

Ford has yet to remedy a solution for the transmission cable shifter on the ford fusion. my vehicle shifter is in the park position, however, the dashboard displays that the car in in neutral. previously, i had parked my car, shut of the ignition and exited. my car proceeded to move back and struck my husband's car. luckily, it was only my husband's car and not another vehicle, object, or person. this issue initially was announced in july of 2018. i received a letter in the mail of may 2019. currently, my car will no longer operate. the shifter will not move at this point, therefore, i'm unable to operate my car. when i contacted multiple ford dealerships in the area, as well as corporate, i was told that there is nothing that can be done at this point and that ford will administer an additional letter when the issue can be addressed. months have passed and ford has done nothing. the safety letter advised, that ford's "commitment, together with your dealer, is to provide the highest level of service and support. sadly, this is not the case.

Extremely abrupt shifting between 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd. 2013 ford fusion titanium awd. the shift is becoming so hard that i brace myself and place my neck against the headrest during the shift. the transmission shift's so hard it sounds like something is going to break. i've had the adaptive system reprogramed 3 times and the solenoids in 2nd and 3rd replaced already. the shift is abrupt and hard no matter how i try accelerating, also sport mode doesn't make a difference.

My car has been skipping and hesitation with power train or transmission while driving whenever it wants. it’s nothing specific to make that happen. last week back power windows quit working. now....started car in drive, steering was locked. drove back and forth, tried different gears, tried restarting, it finally started by turning key over. came home, parked in driveway, can’t get steering to unlock at all now! i am over an hour away from home, so whenever it decides to turn, i can head home. but after reading these reviews, do i dare? does ford want us owners to die, or the innocent we may hit? either way i would sue because they cannot deny knowing there’s a problem!
Shift linkage came apart, the car is a 2013 but isnt covered under the current recall for some reason. the car was stationary
I have a 2013 ford fusion. it has been displaying a jerking motion with pulling is out a park and into drive. when going to turn the corner it stalled out on me. i was able to get it stated back up but when driving its like it had no power and it was going slow.
The shift cable became disconnected from the transmission allowing the shift lever to move through the positions, but the vehicle would not move out of park. fortunately, the vehicle was stuck in park and we could not pull it out of the driveway, but if this had happened when pulling in and it hadn't gone into park, it could have rolled down our driveway and hurt someone. this is the same issue described by ford recall number 18s20, however my vehicle appears to not be included in the recall even though it is the same make model and year of the recalled vehicles and made at the same manufacturing facility in mexico that is covered by the recall.
Arrived home placed my car on park and when i lifted my foot off the break the vehicle kept driving forward hitting a snow bank. put my foot on break and turned off the vehicle. tried to start the car but it says "transmission not on park" on dash. car will not start. for safety i set parking break. contacted for due to recall # 18s20 and was advised that according to my vin # the recall does not apply to my vehicle. exactly what the recall describes is what has happened to my vehicle. i have no other transportation. this is a very unsafe situation.

The vehicle has an electrical glitch and when attempting to park the car it will show as park but will actually slip into neutral and roll forward or back if in a slight hill. also an manufacturing error is causing the car to abruptly stop while on driving. the rpms will increase by itself and then suddenly fall to 0 and the car will not be able to move. all the electrical components will still be on i.e. radio , heat , lights but the car will not move. it's no warning as to when it will just suddenly stop so it's extremely unsafe if driving on a highway.
I was on a city street. i was shifting from drive to reverse and the car kept rolling forward. even when i shift to what thought was park and turned the car off and try to start again the dash read car not in park. i had someone come to help me and found the bushing to the shift cable snapped. so he placed a tube in the hole where the bushing was to hold it place to shift and got me bat home to pa. i went to the ford dealer who said it would cost $500.00 to fix. i checked online and there is a recall for this exact problem but not my vin# why not this is the same problem as recall# 18s20.

I put my car in park and it got stuck and on the speedometer it is saying my car is in reverse. i had to put on the emergency brake to stop the car from rolling back
My 2013 ford fusions automatic steering cable bushing fell out while i was in line at the bank. i was unable to move my vehicle and had it towed. we looked at recalls on 1/7/2019 and found a recall but not specific to my vin number. how can the same thing happen to my vehicle and not be covered under a recall? i was in danger and had to use my parking brake immediately when i thought my car was in park.
