I have a 2013 ford fusion that i just had to replace the. take booster on, 8000 miles out of warranty...and now1 week later, my turbo has went out! gonna cost over $1000 to fix, not to mention the 400$ for the brake booster.. i have always been a ford fan! but this is definitely putting a bad taste in my mouth!!!!! i could understand if the car had a lot of miles on it.... but 68,0000 miles???? come on!!!!
Recall #17s09. it has been over a year since this recall came out. it seems like a pretty serious issue. when do we expect a fix to this probelm?
I live mostly in florida when the temperature was 87 degrees my sun roof was open later in the day i closed the sun roof it was cracked i wasn't in the car when it cracked. i have an extended warranty but they refused the claim. i understand this is happening to a lot of vehicles. ford denied the claim.the vehicle wasn't moving and in a parkig lot.
I was driving as usual. the car suddenly slowed down and the red warning sign came on and reads " engine coolant overtemperature ". at this point, the steering became difficult and the speed slowed to a crawl while we were in the middle of a highway. this put us ( my two children and i ) in so much danger! cars were honking and whizzing by us which scared my children. when we finally made it to the side of the road white smoke was coming out from under the hood. coincidentally, we just got a letter from ford that states a recall that described what happened to our car. safety recall notice 17s09 / nhtsa recall 17v-209
I was driving on rye 24 south brockton ma pulled over to breakdown lane tranafter shifting to park when i got out the car shifted back to reverse and sped up backward knocked me down while door open and rolled over my left leg.
Pass door latch issue i can t close door
My car has 7 recalls doors bags seatbelts door locks not a safe car for me and family.the door would not close or close so i had to use the seat belt to hold close.door
The car won't start! i was told by ford to replace the keyfob battery. so i did. i replaced the car battery and the keyfob battery and this car will not start.
From the day i first drove my car off the lot it was a 2013 ford fusion s it's gray. i started the engine and then sat in the driver's seat before i put it in drive i hear a loud thumping noise generating from the back end of my car. and it's still doing it 4 months later non-stop and i cannot figure out what's going on also there is a rusted hole in my muffler. also often times when i am driving when accelerating the transmission has a huge lag in it and sometimes it sticks without shifting to the proper gear to accelerate, sometimes i have to actually manually shift the gears. and it gets very rough when it slips and slides and makes a big drop which also shakes the entire vehicle and it also impairs the driving performance. and another thing is the seat belt, the rear middle seat of my vehicle when installing a child safety seat the middle seat belt got all jammed up and would not work at all. i had to replace it with an aftermarket seat belt because ford didn't want to fix it for free and wanted to charge me upwards of $400 just for the seat belt that wasn't my fault that i got damaged i just installed the child seat like the local police showed me to and then once i got it out the seat belt it's not working. they say it's not a part of the recall which i already have 4 recalls on my vehicle that is not yet fixed.
Takata recall
2013 ford fusion latches/locks/linkages:doors:latch nhtsa campaign #15v246000. my front right door failed to close on 09/27/2017 and my right rear door failed on 12/21/2017. both times the car was stopped, in a parking lot and failed, one when exiting the car and the other when entering. i had to use a bungee cord through the rear widow when the front door failed and use the child restraint hooks when the rear door failed. each time i was approximately 100 miles from the dealership in my home area. each time it took 3 to 4 days to be repaired. the dealer (ernest mccarty) charged for both repairs as my vin was not included in the recall notice referenced above. additionally, ford was of no help, did not respond to my inquiries and their decisions as they said they would. they also appeared unconcerned for my problems.
Recall: seat belt assemblies that do not adequately restrain the occupant in a crash can increase the risk of injury. car accident. hit from behind and the driver seatbelt came apart
Takata recall i was driving my car a couple months ago and all of a sudden it stopped allowing me to push the gas to drive and the heat indicator told me it was overheating without giving me warning. i took it to the dealership they said it east a recall and i paid close to 400 for them to fix and then a recall letter came out advising to watch coolant levels for overheating etc. while driving the other day 09/01/2017 my car did the same thing and was showing it was overheating without warning and now they are telling me again that i have to pay for the issue out of pocket which is unfair since the recall is not something i have control over. i just want it fixed replaced or a refund for the purchase price of my car minus the depreciation. please help me get this figured out. if any additional information is needed from me please let me know. i should have the receipt of when i paid originally but it's in the car at the dealership.
On feb. 10, 2016, defective door latches on my 2013 ford fusion hybrid were replaced at walker ford/clearwater, fl due to a recall notice. on aug. 24, 2017, the door latch on the front passenger door failed. the same dealer replaced the failed latch on aug. 26, 2017. i was told that because the replacement part is not under recall and is outside the 12 month warranty that i am responsible for replacement and repair costs. when i stated that i would report the failed latch to the nhtsa given the various recalls due to ford door latch defects, the service manager said he would check with his manager about waiving the cost of repairs and has not yet charged me. only the one door latch was replaced. i am concerned that the replacement parts used to remedy the prior recall are also defective. the door latch failed while the vehicle was stationary away from home, while i was running errands.
I was driving in my car, when i began feeling light headed and then passed out. when i awoke i was in the hospital with v-fib. i had my car worked on 2 weeks prior to the accident for the air conditioning/circulation. they did not check my blood for carbon monoxide poisoning at the time. i now have a pace maker and defibrillator at 33 years old. i am concerned with the issues that ford is having with the explorers and did the same thing happen to me in my ford fusion
i was driving my car at 35mph when the tire pressure monitor fault light suddenly came on, i thought i would have deflated or struck a tire, just park my car thinking that the next day i would fix it, but it turned out there was not tire deflated and the next morning was not only that problem but also none of the controls (fobs) to open my car worked, i went to where i bought the tires to be inspected and i checked the sensors, but everything was fine and they advised me to go to the ford dealer, where they quoted me almost 2 weeks after the incident, the dealer took 2 days to deliver my car because they forgot to talk to me. once i went by my car they told me the result of the diagnosis and that the problem was there was no communication between the bcm and the rtm; bcm is the part where the fuses are and the rtm is the radio transmitter module, and what i have to buy is the rtm which would cost $ 945.83, i want to clarify that with my radio i have no problem so i i told the person who was there ... why if it was not a problem for lack of maintenance of my part and i do not have problems with my radio or my tires or sensors, because i have to pay as much money for something that is internal and for a car with less than 5 years of existence ... this person only told me that for that you should buy more guarantee but i feel it is unfair because i am still paying the car, and not for lack of maintenance on my part and are pieces that maybe they use of poor quality .. i hope they help me or advise me then nor the alarm of my car can activate, anyway i will fix it but i feel that it is a lot of money that i should not pay. and at the beginning i am already paying for the diagnosis and its bad service
Vehicle was parked (out of town weekend) when starting up to go home it totally shut down, light came stating something about coolant temperature and i had no power what so ever. got towed to ford, only had vehicle since feb. 2017, saudered and reconnected some wiring that they said was chewed by some critter, i.e. mouse. $360. later. after doing my own research i see wiring is being being covered in some soy coating and seats are made with other products that can lure critters. i don't understand and feel why should i pay that out of pocket.
Passenger side sun visor dropped straight down and will not stay up. i cannot see through it so it blocks visibility to my right unless i use a hand to hold it up. this happened while driving the west virginia turnpike (although i doubt that had anything to do with the malfunction) and swung it down to keep sun out of my eyes. never stayed up since.
The ignition turned off while i was driving around in a parking lot. the key can pop out or be tucked in when you press a button, like a pocket knife. while i was driving, the key didn't hold it's place, then dropped and was dangling instead of fixed and locked. when the key dropped down the ignition switch turned off, then i got a message on the screen which said that the vehicle was not in park. that message comes on if you attempt to turn the car off without the vehicle being in park.
On april 23 of this year a coolant over temperature sensor keeps coming on shutting down my vehicle i've had it to four different dealerships and a reputable garage trying to fix the issue. they cannot find out why i'm losing coolant or where the problem is coming from and why my car is getting overheated and over temperature. i have spent $2000 in parts and towing and labor and the problem still is not fixed ford is insisting that it's not the recall that is out with the coolant system at this time and is trying to get me to put a new engine in the vehicle when they're not even sure what the problem is and if that will even fix it. i can't drive the car more than 30 minutes and the temperature starts to rise iand shuts my car down ..i have filed 2 cases with ford and they have done nothing to help me.
My 2013 ford fusion has had stalling issue for a while now. ive had the car for a little over a year now. i could be driving and the car will just sputter out with no warning lights at all. most of the time it starts back up but has trouble at times as well and i i loose steering and brakes when this happens. there has been a couple close calls due to stalling. car has been to the dealer 7 times for the stalling that has yet to be resolved and 5 others times for different problems. ive had the car a little over a year now and all it has been is problems after problem after problem. the dealer has the car more than i do. i have made coorporate aware of the problem and seem to not care. i have showed them the video and they say they dont know what could be causing that to happen. it also has transmission problems with jerking when shifting gears and they tell me that it is suppose to do that. thats [xxx]. this will be the first and last ford product i will ever buy in my life. customer service was horrible with cooperate and the dealer. and if i get into an accident because they dont know what is wrong with it they will be getting sued. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).
Driver door does not shut
Takata recall. can i get it fixed ? also something with my door.
2013 ford fusion engine acceleration while driving. i was driving on the freeway at 65 mph with my husband and son. all of a sudden the car accelerated and would not stop. i pumped the breaks , when i realized that was not working i put my foot on the break all the way. the car finally started to slow down but would not completely and the engine was still in acceleration. when i was able to slow it down to a safe enough speed, i put the car in park and turned the engine off. we were able to get it to a dealership 2 miles away where it has been there since. the dealership is great, its ford corporate that is the problem. this is a major safety recall that needs action right away. we have been without a car for over 2 weeks. the dealership and ford corporate stated they have not seen anything like this. ford corporate has walked through steps with the technicians to try and fix the issue. they have replaced many parts and failed at every attempt. they still do not know what is wrong and refuse to accommodate us in any way. i cant even get a return call from ford corporate. time for a lawyer. this is a major safety issue and needs to be addressed before someone loses their life driving this car.
We were driving down the highway 2 hours from home and i had a warning light come on, engine coolant temptress overheated. so me and my husband pulled over on the side of the road everything looked fine, we had coolant.we sat for about 10 mins to be safe. and proceeded down the highway. after 2 mins we had another warning light come on steering system failure. at this point he couldn't move the wheel so we pulled over again and as soon as we stopped black smoke came in the vents and up the windshield. as we open our doors there is flames coming in the door on the front passenger side we quickly evacuated the vehicle and called 911.
My husband was driving his ford fusion into the driveway of our home when the passenger car side door opened. since then passenger side door will not close properly. i researched this a bit and found that there have been a large amount of recalls on the doors becoming unlatched while driving for this 2013 ford fusion but when i spoke with the ford dealership they said that my vehicle was not covered under the recall.
On local road, vehichle hesitates when i step on the gas. when i get to a stop light it shudders then stalls. this occurs frequently for the past two weeks as of this entry date.my vehicle has under 53k miles and the dealer says the part and fix is not under warranty. its called a lo pressure gas sensor i believe. if its attached to the gas tank then how could it not be under warranty with under 60k miles standard coverage.is this standard for all dealerships with warranty coverage or lack there of for this part.
Rear passanger door latch fails, door flys open when driving and will not close.
Shifter cable linkage "bushing" recall does not show up by my vin search. yet the bushing is already busted and has been so called "half fixed" by my friend. i need help getting this fix safely please help.
The passenger side door latch will no longer latch and swings open freely
After driving 10-25 miles and stopping for a short break to grocery shop or visit family. starting the car up again and backing/pulling out of parking spot or drive way - it stalls. power stays on, but engine fluctuates rpm in a lunging fashion before puttering out. this can happen multiple times a day or every couple of days it's very random. i have talked to another ford fusion owner and they have had very similar issues.
Shifter cable went bad at 78000 miles. the car would not go down in gear. every time you go back it would stay in that gear and never go back to park. it got stuck in the sport gear and never able to go to neutral, drive nor park. the dealership said that the cable from the shifter to the transmission was bad. this part cost $512 to fix at the dealership.
This car (2013 ford fusion ecoboost) is approx 3 years old with only 59k miles. at slow speeds such as pulling out of a parking lot or coasting to a slow speed at a light or stop sign the engine just dies like it ran out of gas. you have to pull over and stop the car. you then have to restart the car. after a few seconds it starts just fine. it's random but becoming more frequent. it's a safety concern and dangerous to drive in heavy traffic. the dealer said it's probably the electronic throttle body a very well known issue according to postings. part is $700 and labor $200 for a part that is covered under warranty for other ford fusion but not the ecoboost! . national highway traffic administration (nhtsa) opened aninvestigationinto sudden surges and power loss in ford engines. by march of 2014, ford agreed to a massive 'customer satisfaction program' that extended the etb warranty to 10 yearsor150,000 miles for certain vehicles. for whatever reason, ford refuses to call it a recall. o 2009-2013 ford escape o 2009-2013 ford fusion o 2009-2013 mercury mariner o 2009-2013 mercury milan the dealer is saying they cannot find anything wrong but did replace the battery for a fee. it is random as i told the dealer before and really beginging to think they do not want to do anything about the issue. very dangerous if someone pulls out in traffic and the car stalls out. could be fatal!! http://www.fordproblems.com/trends/electronic-throttle-body/
Car lost power and started revving going up a hill. wouldn't accelerate. next day it wouldn't start. it's still at the shop and they have no idea what's wrong
The door latch broke causing the door to not latch closed. there is an active recall for this year model, however my vin number was not covered. the car was stationary at the time so no damaged was caused. there is also no visible damage to the car.
When it rains i get a puddle of water in the driver and passenger seat floor boards..we cannot find where the water is coming from. the dealership is saying it's coming from a faulty seal around the windshield.it happens when in motion and when stationary.
2013 ford fusion se 1.6l 39,000 miles suddenly lost power and wrench light came on. barely able to turn around and get back -- luckily only two blocks away from home. after turning the car off, the problem seemed to go away. the next day, both passenger side doors proceeded not to close due to faulty latches, so we took the car to our local ford dealership service center and turns out there was a recall on the latches (fyi, we were in just two weeks previously for service without any mention of the recall -- another safety issue, as we had our dog in the backseat, and we had to use her leash to tie the door shut so she would fly out of the door that wouldn't close). we then asked them to see if they could find anything out about the wrench light. dealer service center said throttle body needed to be replaced for $700. after researching, it turns out ford has admitted problems concerning this issue and allowed for a one time repair for 10 years or 150,000 miles. however, both service center and regional management have claimed that our car does not meet requirements based on vin. how can this be? if we have the issue, then the issue is present in our car. this part isn't due to be serviced until 75,000 miles per manufacturer suggestion. we called the ford customer service hotline which sent us around and around and basically it comes down to whatever the local dealership service center tells us. the part is so back ordered, presumably because there is a wide-spread issue with this particular problem (according to a local ford parts department manager) - that the price of this part has skyrocketed. making us the profit centers for a known, borderline recall/safety problem that has been addressed is absurd and unbelievable to me at this point. no we have gone from loving our car that has given us zero problems for three years to never buy a ford. ever.
On friday 8/05/16 while vehicle was in motion in a residential area in imperial, ca, the front drivers side door opened. i attempted to shut the door many times but was not successful. i had to pull over and drive the rest of the way home (two blocks) holding the door with one hand. the door will not shut and just springs back when it should hold shut. after a search online i discovered this is a safety recall for my car, when i called my local ford dealership to report it and take it in they stated my vin number was not on the recall list and i would have to contact ford co. i spoke with ford co. they informed me that i would have to take my care in for a "diagnostic check" since i could not prove over the phone something was wrong with my vehicle. i once again contacted my local ford dealership and was told to have my car fixed and pay $300 i would be able to have it ready the following day but for a diagnostic check it would be three weeks. i was also told i would have to pay privately until ford co. added my vin number to the recall list.
My passennger door will not stay closed i was getting ready to leave the store and the door just swung open and it will not latch into place just bought this car in march of 2016 from a used car dealership
We have a 2013 ford fusion and while driving car making a right turn the passenger rear door flew open luckily our child was sitting away from the door and we were on our driveway turning on a small highway. the door latch is not allowing door to stay shut. upon research we found there is a recall on door latch of 2013 ford fusion manufactured at hermosillo plant and during certain dates in 2012. we taped our door shut and went to dealership they stated that our vehicle is not part of this recall. i informed them that our car was manufactured in hermosillo plant in 2013 and it fits the recall description. however they would not pay for it even though it is a recall. they want us to put up the 400.00 to pay for it when their company has a recall on door latches. we had another issue with the coolant and again they had a recall on the coolant system as well but our car is not part of the recall although again it fit the recall description to a t. we paid to have that fixed but this is ridiculous that we have to pay out of our own pocket on a recall the company should be responsible for fixing. we don't have 400.00 to fork out and we need it fixed as we have 3 children that we take to school everyday and we are struggling to find out where we can get the money to fix this problem when we feel it should be ford to fix it.
There is currently a recall for the 2013 fusion vehicles built at hermosillo assembly plant for all 4 door latches. ford claims my fusion does not fall under the recall. but my 18 year old daughter was driving down a highway with my 12 yr old son sitting in the back seat passenger side when the door came open by itself while the car was in motion doing 60 mph and now the door will not close. we had a mechanic look at it and says it is a faulty door latch. i now have to pay $202 to buy the part to fix one door. the recall says it can happen to all four doors. this recall needs to be expanded to all 2013 fusions. there is obviously a huge safety issue.
The airbag has busted around 90 days after accident on a city street when vehicle was hit by another vehicle
The air conditioning compressor clutch fell off the vehicle while driving. the bolt retaining the clutch assembly sheared off resulting in the clutch assembly separating from the compressor pulley.
Door latch broke. no foul play. dealership says its not part of the recall.
The latch on the passenger front door failed and no longer functions, just as described in relevant recall. however, although my model year is part of recall, for some unknown reason my vin is excluded. ford must fix this problem before it happens to the other doors. i was trying to enter freeway when the front passenger door flew open. this vehicle is a family car, and i have 3 minor children who, i prefer, are not put in harms way as a result of some misplaced issue on whether my vehicle is included in the recall of these parts, which are already well-established as defective.
My 2013 ford fusion has a problem every time i refuel it. 1) it does not turn on when i finished pumping gas, i have to keep trying to turn it on and or step on gas peddle for it to turn on, also i have to have my ac off cause i get this horrible smell and at one point saw fumes coming out from my air vents which i then suddenly turn off the ac but my vehicle had also turned off by it self. 2) it has turned off twice while i drive off from the gas station, on the safe side it turned off before i even made it to the street/road. i then had a recall on it and took it for service for something involving the door handles at that time i reported my problem to a ford mechanic/personnel and the gentle men advised me he will not be replacing the problem since it was not on the recall and it would have to be payed from my pocket, which i dont have the budget for it, and 3) while i was driving home from work about a 15 mile drive from neighboring city, my vehicle had lost power and started slowing down at which point i realized it had turned off on the highway at speed of 50-60mphs while my shift was in drive and my key was turned in the on position. this was at night time since i work the afternoon i then slowed down to the shoulder of the highway and turned it back on with out a problem, the following day it did not do the same thing and as of 12/19/2017, i have seen report of the ford explorer with similarities of the smell but did not find of the ford fusion which i would like to report this issue.
I have been having issues with the car dying while accelerating from stops. took to local ford dealer, nothing wrong. took to local mechanic after it died on me and they said software programming for throttle body. the vehicle has died approximately 6 times while at stop signs and stop lights, when you go to take off, it acts like it isn't getting gas. i have called the local ford dealer and ford customer service, but say there is no program updates for throttle bottle. kevin at ford customer service went on to tell me that what i found online with throttle body issues was not true, unless i found it on ford.com. this all started on friday, december 18th.
Dealer service manager states the air conditioning compressor suffered a "catastrophic failure" of its internal parts. as a result, the vehicle shut down while it was being driven. dealer states the entire ac system has to be replaced at a cost of $2500.00. the pcm may also be affected but that cannot be determined until the vehicle is in a state where it can be started, which won't be achieved until after the entire ac system is replaced. this exorbitant repair cost is not covered under any warranty.
When i tried to pull out my car from the parking lot, the power steering was lost - i started the engine, released the break, was able to move forward or backward, but when i tried to turn around, the steer was stuck, i can only make little turn but then it's too heavy to continue the turn. this happened three times within one month, but there was no error message on dashboard. when it happened, stopping the engine and restarting, once or many times, fixed the issue. took to a dealer but they were not able to read any "code", and they refuse to take further action. they asked me to monitor the car and take the car to them when it happens again.
Per the manufacturer recommendations i updated my vehicle to sync version 4.4. ever since them i have had several distracting issues occur with the hand free portion of the system. when a call comes in the system will continue to ring after the call is answered. the system's voice recognition is very unreliable with the system either not performing the action requested or not performing at all. its a hit or miss problem when using the vehicle to make a call. while driving these issues distract the driver from paying attention to the road and can cause an accident. this happens no matter if the vehicle is stationary or at any speed. ford is aware of this issue but so far has failed to address it . in the ford fourms there are promises of a new update soon b but so far nothing has habbened. the version of software affected are synv 4.4 and gen2 - version 3.8. as this software is currently installed in almost all ford units could you please get them to either fix the issues with the software or allow dealers to reinstall earlier versions that did function correctly
