Takata inflators. we were mailed an "important safety recall" letter on june 15, 2016 and received another one in july 2016. this is october 2017 and our air bag recall situation has not been taken care of! when i have called our local ford dealer, where we purchased our car, to ask when this would be repaired, i have been told that there is no remedy yet, but to be assured, i would be the "first one called when there is," and this statement was insignificant to me, even useless. everyone with this problem, given the warnings, should be at the top of the list, not just instructed to simply "not use the front passenger seat" until the airbag is replaced! i was strongly urged to not have anyone sit in the front passenger seat until this problem has been taken care of. my ford fusion has been the favorite car i have owned! it's primary purpose is for my husband and i to travel and to spend time with our grandchildren and other family members. riding "chauffeur" style with my husband when we travel is not why we purchased this car! i could understand a week or two, or possibly a month, but 16 months with no end in sight is ridiculous! when i want to have a day out with my friend, it is embarrassing to ask her to sit in the back seat for her safety. this issue has strongly affected my desire to purchase another ford product, and we have purchased many ford vehicles! my father-in-law retired from ford motor co. please correct this problem asap! the date i have entered below as "date this happened" refers to the first date that we were issued notice that the front passenger airbag recall was in place. thank you for your time and efforts to correct this situation for us immediately, safely, correctly. p.s. we have had multiple recalls on various parts of our 2010 ford fusion.

Takata recall - it has been 2 years since this issue was identified and i have yet to have a definitive date as to when the issue will be resolved. it is putting me in a bind since i have to transport my children and wife in the car and have to use the passenger seat on occasion. it is hard for me to believe that it would take over 2 years to resolve.

Takata recall. ford failed to notify me of the airbag recall that happened over 2 years ago. i only found out about it because i read a news article that mentioned it. this is the second time ford has failed to notify me of a recall, even after company reps said my information was updated after i took my vehicle to be serviced after my car's engine failed (in line with the first recall). my vehicle is registered properly and i have bought it new. i don't understand why this dishonest company keeps operating and risking people's lives. i have passengers in my car every day and it's unconsionable that i have not been properly notified of the company's failures. i will sue the company for their failures.

Takata recall according to the nhtsa website if a recall is not repaired in a timely manner then filling out this form is the next step. while i understand the takata recall is affecting a very large number of vehicles, i also understand there continue to be fatalities regarding this recall. it has now been over 20 months since this recall was issued and it still states there is no remedy available for my vehicle. this is unacceptable to continue to tell me to put my family in danger from a known possibly fatal recall that is now nearly 2 years old. please advise how and when my vehicle will be repaired.

Takata recall i was notified in june 2016 of the recall and have not heard anything else on the matter. i live in texas and shouldn't i be on the higher priority list? it shouldn't take this long for the repair especially since it is putting the public's safety at risk!!! if they are still manufacturing these parts then why is it taking so long? these repairs should be priority #1 and it doesn't seem like they are.

Takata recall. complaint filed 1/27/17, #10947903, first recall date from ford was 6/1/16. 10/18/2017 and ford still does not have parts to repair! this is a very dangerous recall. ford seems to be dragging their feet!

Takata recall. in 2016 i was notified of a recall involving the passenger side air bag and instructed to go to the dealer for repair. to date the dealer is unable to get the parts necessary to perform the repair and the recall web site says "recall status- recall incomplete. remedy not yet available". when will they ship the parts to fix this? everything i read about the problem points to extreme safety concerns! how long can they get away with this?

Takata recall my car was recalled in june 2016. as of this date, my ford dealer still says they do not have the parts and do not know when the parts will come in to fix this recall issue. waiting over two years for parts is unacceptable. in december 2017, ford sent me a letter telling me not to let anyone sit in my passenger seat due to this issue, essentially saying i could not use my car for its intended purpose (i.e., to carry passengers in my 5 passenger sedan). it is clear to me the manufacturer is waiting for me to sell the car so they don't need to fix it. manufacturer recall number 16s26 nhtsa recall number 16v384

Takata air bags recall was sent to me in early 2016 regarding my front passenger airbag may explode with metal parts projected toward the passenger's body. i have not been able to have any passengers sit in that seat for going on 3 years, but i had driven passengers in that seat for nearly 6 plus years before knowing of the problem. very scary to learn of this risk. i'm extremely upset with ford motor corporation for not having a "fix" for my specific automobile after all this time. the people at our local ford dealer, mike brown ford have been very good & nice, but they are in a difficult position since they state they o not have what is needed to replace my takata airbag. plus, when they do have a "fix" the dealer has to make the replacements in a specific government regulated order. my vehicle is 10 plus years old and i can't even trade it in to some other auto manufacturers because they can't resell the vehicle without being able to fix the recall. i feel i'm stuck with a vehicle that is inconvenient, aging and i'm helpless as a ford customer. i will never purchase another ford product. i recognize that other auto manufactures were also affected by takata's poor quality and safety standards. it took way too long to notify he public and way too long to correct the takata airbag tragedy. this is the third different recall i'm had on auto,. ford must be held accountable for their lack of quality and safety. and go out of business if they can not rapidly prove that they can make vehicles that are safe...that means they need to thoroughly research their vendors for products that are used when manufacturing vehicles so they aren't selling death traps to the public. my understanding is ford and other manufacturers knew about the takata airbag before 2009...before my vehicle was sold to me. i want a good solution to my takata airbag problem now!

Takata recall: i first read that takata airbags in my ford fusion may be defective in early 2016 and finally received recall notice from ford motor co. in july 2016 stating that my vehicle did have an airbag defect and that i would be notified when parts became available. i have called ford dealer repeatedly and have been told that no parts are available each time i called. one employee at a ford dealership laughed when i asked for the date they expected to receive repair parts and said that it would be a long time. well it has been a long time (today is 1/29/2017). i filed an earlier complaint with nhtsa on 5/4/17. i read that ford was to receive $850 million from takata. it seems that ford should be required to use that money to fix airbags themselves. i recently received another notice from ford stating that they expect "remedy parts to become available for certain vehicles in the spring of 2018". when will i know if my vehicle is one of those "certain vehicles"? this most recent notice also states "do not allow anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat". this is absurd-the fusion is a small vehicle and it would seem that if the airbag ruptures causing metal fragments to strike vehicle "occupants" that everyone in the car would be at risk. this is a dangerous condition that ford has been given generous leeway to fix. the government is supposed to working on behalf of citizens--not ford motor co., i.e. big business. please make ford motor company take immediate action to repair or replace these airbags (recall 16s26). i am afraid of my own car.
