Takata recall i called my mooresville, n.c. ford dealership to schedule a replacement of the defective passenger airbag and the replacement part is not yet available. it may not be available until the end of this year..2018. my recall letter indicates the ford motor company will pay for a rental car at $30 a day and the owner has to carry and pay for the insurance on the rental vehicle. the rental company my ford dealer contracts through cheapest rental is $35.00 per day which would leave me paying approximately $140.00 per month for the rental and approximately an extra $50.00 or more a month for insurance i am already paying for a affected vehicle plus monthly insurance that has a recall for a defective recall that is not my fault! i am a senior citizen and drive my car on a daily basis with my grandchildren and loved ones in my car and don't want to take the risk of death or injury to any of them.. with the age of my car and the summer heat and humidity i do not want to chance that! i do not feel i should have to pay anything extra for a rental for a recall putting my family in harm's way or even death that is not my fault! the ford motor company should be made to pay the entire cost of the rental vehicle! if indeed your goal and policy is to make sure these car manufacturers do their part to insure my safety...then ford motor company needs to be totally accountable and pay everything. none of the cost should be passed to the owner of the affected vehicle. i called ford headquarters customer service with my concern about the danger which they urge the owner to get the airbag replaced and not drive it...but yet the part is not available as yet.....and maybe 6 months or more... & yet won't pay the total cost for my ford dealer ship to rent me a car is totally ridiculous! they essentially said "sorry" that's all we are allowing $30 a day.

Takata recall ford sent us a letter telling us to go to our ford dealer and the ford was to authorize them to provide us a free rental car; all of which seems to mean the issue is very serious. however, all the dealer is doing is taking names, addresses, and information. they refuse to tell us when we might get repair parts or a rental vehicle. capital ford lincoln and mercury of wilmington (nc)'s service writer told me that they couldn't "just send us down to enterprise to get a car." when i asked why not, he shrugged. ford has been selling new cars and i presume they have air bags in them. all of which makes me feel ford didn't think our lives are worth diverting parts from new cars to fix the ones they dropped the ball on in the first place. will you please do whatever you can to get us help? it would surely be appreciated.

Takata recall i received a recall notice february 2018 stating there had been a recall on the passenger side airbag, and i would be notifies when parts became available to fix the issue. i have since then received a letter stating parts are unavailable, and ford is offering rental cars until parts do become available. i have been trying to get this solved for a week now, and my local ford dealer just keeps saying they will get back to me. this is my only form of transportation, and i have two kids that travel in this car with me. i feel like everyday driving in this unsafe vehicle, is a threat to me and/or my children, and nothing is getting resolved, due to an overwhelming list, but i shouldn't have to worry everytime i drive.

Takata recall. i received an airbag recall notification via us mail.parts for the repair are not currently available but are "anticipated" to become available "during the second and third quarter of 2018". i called ford and two separate people told me the car was safe for the driver but not for the front passenger. how can they be sure of this? meanwhile, they offer up to $30/day for a rental car. this is good until i find out through two dealerships that the least expensive car available is $35 including taxes. to recap: 1. ford says the car is safe to drive for the driver only. 2. ford will provide a rental car of up to $30/day even though the cheapest is $5 more or $150/month out of my pocket. 3. people have been injured/killed by this defect. what are my options other than jepordizing the safety of me and my family? paying $150/month is not an option and when will the part be ready? why can't ford go the extra mile and fully cover the rental? i was a federal air traffic controller for 31 years. i am very keen on safety risks and this is not one i am willing to take. please help. thank you.

Takata i received a notice for a recall for my airbag. i haven't had any repairs as of yet. i am constantly on the highway and on edge each time i or someome is om the passenger side. i am scheduled to go out of town on wednesday, october 31, 2018, the way accidents are happening, i am afraid to drive this vehicle but it is the only transportation i have to go in.

Takata recall i received a recall notice for my airbags around june 2016. i have still not been able to have the airbags replaced (may 2018) because the recall status is: "remedy not yet available" it has been too long and i don't feel like my car is safe until this is taken care of.

Takata recall. my complaint is that it is taking ford an inordinate length of time to develop and implement a remedy to this recall. it has been 2 years, and there is nothing to be done. the only thing they say to do is not have anyone ride in the front passenger seat-that is a ridiculous answer for a period of 2 years. it is clear this is not a priority for them--they sold their cars and now want to sell more.

Takata recall it has been almost a year since ford notified me of this recall as of yet my local dealer does not have necessary parts to make the needed repair how much longer must i wait? ford authorized a rental car however my dealer has none available. perhaps this recall is not as urgent as believed to be.

Takata recall - no fix for past 2 years, telling me i shouldn't have a passenger in the front seat with me. unable to get a fair trade value because the dealerships cannot resell the vehicle

Takata recall-still no parts to fix

Takata recall - i received a recall notice on this vehicle due to the airbags in may of 2018. when i took the vehicle in, they told me that there were no recall parts available and they did not know if they ever would be available. thus i'm still driving the car with defective airbags.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 18v046000 (air bags) in may of 2018. the dealer (crossroads ford of indian trail, 88 dale jarrett blvd, indian trail, nc 28079) was contacted and stated that the part was not available. the manufacturer was not contacted. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall i have tried to contact the local ford dealership to fix the air bag issue but they have told me multiple times that they do not have the parts for the air bag available and i would have to wait and they would notify me when they could fix it. this has been told to me since may 2018. so 5 months later and im still told the same thing. i would like to know why the parts are still not available for my vehicle. my passenger airbag light will be on saying that the air bag is off and not even working so on top of metal fragments that could possibly come out if the air bag did work and deploy half the time its not on anyway so therefor is more risk added to whomever is in my passenger seat at the time. ford needs to resolve this issue asap and stop telling people they do not have parts available at this time which i find hard to believe.

Takata recall: recall notice from ford states, "if you require a rental vehicle while waiting for parts to become available for your vehicle, please contact your local ford or lincoln dealer." a call to customer service claims that you are only authorized to receive a rental car while your car is at the dealer actually being repaired. you do not receive a rental car while "while waiting for parts to become available..." as described in the letter.

Takata inflators received original recall may 2018-am still told parts not available. almost a year - how can this be????

Takata recall. i received a recall notice in may 2018. the ford recall notice said that parts are anticipated to be available during the second and third quarters of 2018. ford stated that it would notify me to schedule the airbag recall repair. notwithstanding this representation, the second and third quarters of 2018 have passed and ford has failed to notify me to schedule the repair. my 2010 ford fusion is worthless for sale or trade-in, except for salvage value, as long as the airbags have not been repaired. also, and importantly, there is a risk of injury if this is not repaired. i request that nhtsa require ford to fix this vehicle within the time promised. this conduct by ford is not acceptable.

Takata air bags recall: ford recall# 18s01 & nhtsa# 18v046. i received the recall from january 2018. i keep calling ford & as of today the parts are still not being made. my question is: what to do because many have been killed with these airbags exploding. i see there is a law suit going on between takata & ford but how does this help in the mean time? death is not a forgiving thing from a recall where half the work is familiar with. any help to be had other than hiring an attorney?

Takata recall. ford has not provided me with a remedy to this airbag issue. i would like to feel safe when i drive my car. please help. much appreciated. josh.

I have received a letter from ford motor indicating that there is a defective airbag in my vehicle and that the passenger side airbag defect is most critical and urgent. the letter indicates that no one should sit in the passenger side front side of my 2010 ford fusion se. the letter indicates that airbag replacement parts are currently not available and the letter did not indicate a date as to when parts would become available. i have called ford in souderton pa to discuss but have not been given a call back.

Takata recall (ford 18s01/nhtsa 18v046) - it is well over three months since the recall was announced on january 11, 2018. a remedy has not yet been offered by ford. assuming that one is forthcoming, it can no longer be considered "timely".

Takata recall: ford is telling us we have to wait until parts are available and then they will contact us. that was over 2 months ago and still no contact. i am worried about the possibility of dangerous shrapnel should the airbag deploy.

Takata recall......calling dealers to obtain an approximate timeframe for the repairs. no one knows. this year? next year? two years? five years? no answer. i suspect the recall is a scam. wait long enough and the affected cars will be off the road before repairs are made.

Tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion. while driving various speeds, the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated, which was a safety concern. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v046000 (air bags); however, the part needed for the repair was not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the vehicle was taken to beach ford (851 jason blvd #1, myrtle beach, sc 29577, (843) 839-8168), but the parts were not available for the repair. the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer also informed the contact that parts were not available. the approximate failure mileage was 120,000. vin tool confirms parts not available. *tt *js

Takata recall it has over 24 months since the recall came out and yet i have only received one notification by mail and that was to tell me that i had a recall on my airbag. i feel unsafe driving my vehicle and the lack of parts has made my vehicle pretty useless if i was to get into a car accident. there needs to be some accountability with ford and pushing those parts down to the local dealership that way other people cars can get fix.

Received recall notice but dealer will not replace airbag

Takata recall: i just received notice that my fusion is being recalled for passenger frontal airbag inflator replacement. according to the dealership, to ford, and to the complaints posted here, the requisite replacement parts may take "forever" to become available. meanwhile, we drive a car in which a minor accident could be fatal because of the inflator. why are we not entitled to use a loaner car until parts are available? the cost of such a program could and should be passed on to takata. it is absurd to have millions of people driving around in these time bombs.

No action from dealer ford i received recall letter since 2016 now i have new complaints regards to power steering assist fault service advancetrac

Takata recall, ford most recently recalled the airbags in my car, however just like my previous recall there is no parts available, they say the car is safe to drive but i don't want to risk my safety as well as the others in my car if it is not. previously my car was stuck at the ford dealership for over 8 months due to a fuel system recall, and they refused to buy back the car but did significant damage to the paint, and interior of the car when they had it. i have pictures from those damages that never got repair by ford or the dealer all they agreed to do was replace the battery in the car.
