Takata recall. i was first notified of the recall in june 2016. for over a year i have not been able to use the vehicle for family travel due to the defective passenger airbag. we purchased the car for the fuel efficiency for driving around town and on longer trips. takata has taken an unreasonably long amount of time to repair the vehicle. i spoke with my local ford dealer yesterday and the parts were still not available.

Takata recall... i was notified that there was a recall on my car in june 2016 by mail. i have contacted future ford of concord, ca where i purchased the car repeatedly. i also contacted walnut creek, ca ford. they said that takata went bankrupt and they don't have any airbags to replace the potentially dangerous one in my car. they said that they will contact me when they are available. this is not an acceptable answer. while i haven't had an accident, if i do, i may suffer death or injury rather then having the airbag protect me as the designers intended.
Takata recall when i called the dealership to get a "timeline" as to when this problem would be resolved, i was told "there is no timeline". i said does that mean it could take years? the response was silence! so i need to be sure no one sits in the front passenger seat or risk there death and if they die it is all my fault. the recall was 11 weeks ago..... what exactly is a reasonable amount of time?
Takata recall this recall has been open for 18 months and there is no end in sight. recently received another mailing from ford stating that no one should sit in the front passenger seat or they could be killed. called ford to request the airbag be disconnected, they said its a controlled safety system and nothing can be done. i'm not sure what group i am in, but live in a area with high temperatures and humidity.

Takata recall i have been contacting my dealership, rockwall ford, for over 1 year requesting replacement of my airbags. they always tell me the bags are on back order, they do not know when they will arrive and that i will be contacted when they do. i also contacted park cities ford in dallas and was told the airbags were on back order. it is clear to me that no dealership i've contacted is interested in replacing the airbags. i wrote a complaint to the rockwall dealership that was not answered, except to contact me trying to sell me a new car. i frequently transport surgeons as front seat passengers in my car and i cannot imagine the law suit that would result if i were to be involved in an accident that caused the airbag to explode. i am seriously concerned about passengers in my car. i have owned this car since 2009 and it has been a risk to me and my passengers for all those years. i find it inconceivable that the bags cannot be replaced.
Been waiting since jan 2016 for the airbag replacement. i do think for something that could cause death would be handle faster than this. this is unexceptable.
Takata recall has not been followed through with ford.
Takata recall i received my recall notice about two years ago, but the ford dealer still says that no replacement airbags are available for my car.
Ford notified me of recall for passenger side airbag in 2016. dealers told me they could not replace it at that time. it is over a year later, they still cannot replace it or disable it. so my passengers need to ride in the back seat now for over a year.
Takata recall
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford fusion hybrid. while driving at any speed, the vehicle made unusual noises. the noises increased at approximately 45 mph without warning. the vehicle was taken to east tennessee ford (crossville, tn, 931-240-4121) where it was diagnosed that the front passenger wheel bearing was faulty and about to fall out. the technician replaced the wheel bearing assembly. approximately two years later, the front driver's wheel bearing also failed. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the wheel bearing assembly was replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failures and stated that there was no recall. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
Airbag switches under driver seat and front passenger seat are always getting thrown and cause airbag light to go off in dash. there needs to be a better item that is not so sensitive to people riding in the back seat. when they put their feet under the front seats it throws the switch and causes the airbag light to come on in the dash.
Takata recall i have called lindsay ford in wheaton, md, three (3) times about replacing the passenger airbag. the last time i was told the parts would be available in two weeks.
Airbag disabled warning light appeared on dash. took it to dealer and after 2 days, it was decided that the computer controlling the airbags had to be replaced. for the next 4 years this same light has come on indicating the airbags are not operating. each time the same dealer has said the problem was "in the wiring harness under the passenger seat". it works for a time and then with no warning fails again. on one occasion it occurred just when leaving on a 2500 mile trip so we were without airbag protection. i am convinced that it has to do with having a passenger in the right rear seat and that feet under the seat interfere with the wiring. the dealer has never resolved it. multiple times it has resolved itself before i can get in for service so i am brushed off by the dealer. i consider driving this car without working airbags a great life threatening hazard. i was the passenger in a vehicle with airbag deployment once and am convinced my life was saved by them. *tr
