Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford focus. while driving approximately 50-65 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the contact was able to restart the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the purge solenoid seized in the open or closed position, which caused the vehicle to stall. the vehicle was repaired. additionally, the vehicle experienced a shudder in the transmission and hard shift between gears while being driven. the contact also stated that, intermittently, the vehicle failed to shift into reverse after the clutch was replaced. the failure to shift into reverse was a new symptom that occurred only after the clutch was replaced. the dealer and manufacturer were not informed of the failures. the approximate failure mileage was 72,573.
My 2016 ford focus se has stalled while driving on the freeway twice in the past two weeks. in addition, the transmission is very jerky and the engine studders and makes loud noises when shifting into 2nd and 3rd gears. the car only has 53,000 miles on it, yet the transmission is defective.
At highway speed, vehicle went into limp mode restricting throttle response with no dash indicators. unable to accelerate. no check engine light, no messages, all gauges in normal range. unsafe condition when vehicle responds very slowly with no indicator for driver. vehicle is the 1.0 l ecoboost with 6mt transmission.
While driving within city limits on a daily basis, my vehicle shutters from the start and at acceleration, sometimes stalls as i start to eccelerate from red lights and stop signs, creating potential hazardous conditions. engine light has come on and want go off, and smells of fuel while vehicle is being driven.
Check engine light is on and when checked at autozone it comes back as the pvc which is a know issue with focuses. also, on one occassion, the transmission fault light came on and that is also a know issue with focuses. my vehicle often stalls at intersection when i have to slow down or stop and is difficult to restart in most cases.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford focus. while driving 30-55 mph, the gear shifted into neutral and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. in addition, the "engine too hot" message was displayed and the vehicle failed to accelerate and/or start. the vehicle was taken to cavalier ford greenbrier (1515 s military hwy, chesapeake, va 23320, (757) 424-1111), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 32,000.
Takata recall the car has a really rough iddle, stalls at random and check engine light comes on for different reasons every time i have replaced the 02 fillter twice and it has been in the shop 5 times in the last month i had read reports that other ford focus cars had simmilar problems and replacing the purge iddle valve had solved them, but at the moment ford is only acknowledging focuses from one paticular plant.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford focus. the contact took the vehicle to hall ford elizabeth city (1310 n road st, elizabeth city, nc 27909, (877) 475-0723) for routine maintenance. the contact was informed of an unknown recall regarding the evap purge valve. the dealer reprogrammed the computer system in january of 2019, but the recall was not remedied. the manufacturer initially denied the claim and was investigating to see if they could assist with the repair costs. the contact also stated that the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle shut off while being driven. also, after refilling the fuel tank, it took four or five times to restart the vehicle. the failure mileage was 80,000. *tr
The vehicle stalled during a left turn into the right lane of oncoming traffic and was hit as a result. the vehicle was declared a total loss. the vehicle had been taken to ford previously due to concerns of stalling/sluggish acceleration at which time the dealer disclosed an issue was known that was most likely the cause. the dealership kept the car and performed repairs. the acceleration seemed a little better but still not right based on decades of driving experience. i think the cpv issue (18s32/18v-735) may have caused the car to stall and be hit when it would not have been hit otherwise.
My car has severe hesitation when starting from a stop and or low speed. it has also stalled on two different occasions when pulling into a parking lot
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford focus. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle hesitated with force and the check engine indicator illuminated. the contact also stated that she had to refuel the vehicle more than usual. the contact pulled over, turned off and restarted the vehicle, and was able to drive home. the contact called auffenberg ford (1312 n keller dr, effingham, il 62401, (217) 342-3929) and was informed that the vin was not included in a recall; therefore, the contact would have to pay for the repairs. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 45,061.
Purchased vehicle in aug 2018. vehicle has stall on me 4 times since i had it also, went to the ford homestead dealer for recall issues but car seem to still stall. ended up taking the vehicle on 05/17/19 for an oil change and diagnostic due to the check engine came on and vehicle was taken to pep boys and was there all weekend. now i thought the repair was fixed and the was returned to me on 05/19/19 which the check engine light came back on. so now the care continue to stall.
My check engine came on and now my car lost all power and every time i put my foot on the gas it acts like it's about to stall out i'm worried for my safety because this is just the first day and my vehicle is already acting up i called my dealership no answer i'm very upset if i die because of you're company and dealership failure better believe my family will sue especially since i've tried to contact my dealer multiple times
I bought this 1996 ford focus se a year ago and the transmmison slips on cold morning and than it slips all the time now and it only has 60000 miles on it
More than 3 months ago i received initial notification of the following recall by mail: nhtsa recall number: 18v735 recall date: october 22, 2018 manufacturer recall number: 18s32. i have yet to receive a follow up with a remedy for this issue, and i feel like i've waited long enough. especially being that this is an engine vehicle, i don't feel safe driving my vehicle, although i have to in order to get back and forth from work. nothing specific has happened to my vehicle yet, i am simply just unhappy that there is still no fix for this issue, which i've been told i am within my rights to do. thank you.
I purchase a 2016 ford focus today and there's one open recall on my vehicle. the takata recall and i would like for this issue to be fixed because it sounds dangerous from the research i did on the recall. plus i have my 1st car wreck a couple months ago and my car was totaled out. i want to be safe behind the wheel and i have a little boy; who will be a passenger in the vehicle i don't want my car to stop in the middle of the street and cause a accident and my son get hurt. please contact me at: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
There are class action suits over the transmission/clutch recalls for the focus. ford dealers chapman ford, horsham and hoffman ford, harrisburg, pa, are refusing to repair the ford focus 2016 clutch that is slipping (about 48,000 miles) with their reason being that the car has a branded title. the car was in a minor accident that only affected the side opposite the transmission, and any dealer can clearly see that all the transmission and surrounding areas are not damaged and are original ford parts. it was really a small amount of body work on the opposing side. if a clutch 'blows up', the driver can have serious leg damage, and also this is a safety issue and crash possibility. since the transmission was not affected at all in the branded title, ford should repair it for free. the transmission/clutch issues are all over the internet and since ford has quit making the focus, it is evident that ford knows they have created the clutch issue. this and the canister purge valve recall are very dangerous.you would not want your daughter driving this car, and it needs repaired this week. ford needs to take care of the situation they knowingly created. the branded title has nothing to do at all with the transmission issues. even the dealers have admitted that. chapman ford, horsham has diagnosed a slipping clutch. i have paperwork.
Canister purge valve, engine stall recall. i have been having this issue since i recieved the car febuary 2017. the issues was when i would step on the gas to drive, it would stall slowly the speed from its original speed and can feel a pull and push from the car trying to speed up even when i step on the gas pedal; the car moves slow, its like its trying to go up a hill with effort but tireless when its not even going up a hill. its makes a loud clank noise when it tries to speed up. it doesnt feel smooth when driving. i had call the manufacturer ford since january 2019. they ask for my date of birth to supposely look for me in the system and make me wait for 12 minutes, then they hang up the call. i made an appointment at ford january 2019, they canceled it the day before. i recalled ford july 2019, they hang up on me again.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford focus. while driving 25 mph, the vehicle shook and stalled. the contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and attempted to restart the vehicle. the dealer (norm reeves ford lincoln, 18900 studebaker rd, cerritos, ca 90703, (562) 991-6696) stated that the warranty expired after 36,000 miles and scheduled a diagnostic appointment. the dealer stated that the failure was not due to nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 54,000.
As i was on my way to work driving on the freeway going 67mph on cruise control i was in the 2nd lane in from the right . i felt something bumpy underneath my feet and as i lowered my radio i heard a scraping sound and then it felt like something went underneath my tires and i heard when it pulled and broke the front grill made me swerve thank god no accident. as i was pulling to the right it felt like i was dragging the panel and parts of my bumper. sure enough the underneath panel came off and that's what created the whole body damage.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford focus. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the driver coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and powered off the engine. the vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normally. the driver drove the vehicle home. the following day, the vehicle was taken to santa fe ford (located at 16330 nw us hwy 441, alachua, fl 32615, (866) 371-2255) where it was diagnosed that the purge valve needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to rountree moore ford (located at 2588 w us hwy 90, lake city, fl 32055, (386) 269-9093) regarding nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). the dealer stated that a faulty code was not found and no further action was needed. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was no longer included in the recall. no further assistance was offered. the approximate failure mileage was 27,965.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford focus. in december of 2018, the contact took the vehicle to an unknown dealer to be repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (engine); however, the repair did not correct the failure. when the contact attempted to start the engine, the vehicle stalled without warning. the manufacturer was contacted. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 76,000.
When accelerating from a stop, transmission/engine stutters making the car shudder at low speeds. delayed and inconsistent acceleration noted during shuddering episodes. this happens every acceleration under normal driving conditions. if accelerator is advanced more rapidly, shuddering not noted. car only has 49,000 miles on it. i have taken the vehicle to the ford dealer for this issue. a transmission part was already replaced once which seemed to solve the problem at first. the problem reappeared approximately 2 months after repair.
Received a recall notice in december of 2018 for the engine, and it states in my letter that i do not need to do anything, except wait for a call/letter from my dealer saying they have the parts. since it is going on 7 months, and i know someone else who has this car who got his fixed in february, i can only assume my dealer has decided to not service my safety recall, since they are probably upset from trying to take money from me in the past and getting reported to the better business bureau. i'd like an appointment to get my car serviced, and i would like it to not be at townsend ford. there is a location in ayer i can get to. this is 7 months now that my engine recall has been ignored, and it states in the letter i do not have to take any action, yet here i am. good looks townsend ford.

On november 4, 2018- while making a left-hand turn, the 2016 ford focus i was driving stalled out on the main road. on january 4, 2019 i filled out a complaint online with the nhtsa-( have been given a lot of problems) at first i was told that the complaint was lost because of a computer error, then i have been given a hard time every time i call up and ask about it.

On 10/27/2018 approximately 1330 after making a right turn onto 29 in warrenton headed towards culpeper going about 45mph the car sputtered and stalled. took 3 times to get the vehicle restarted. then did it again after making a left onto 17 in bealeton. the vehicle would get up to about 20 mph and just stall in traffic. this is becoming a major safety issue especially having my 12 year old in the vehicle with me.
Vehicle fuel gauge is off by 50 miles + - 10 miles. vehicle stalls after filling fuel take to full level. engine check light stays on solid after the first time the vehicle ran out of gas. transmission is loud and grinds when making turns and has a jerking motion when increasing and decreasing speed.
Tl* the contact owns a 2016 ford focus. while driving 50 mph, the check engine indicator illuminated and the engine seized. the vehicle was taken to crown ford (256 swain street, skibo rd, fayetteville, nc 28303, 910-920-9614) where it was diagnosed that the spark plugs failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer stated that they were aware of the failure and it was up to the contact to replace the spark plugs. the failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
Approximately at 30000 miles while still under warranty i brought the vehicle to sheehy of warrenton because while on rte 28 in sterling va the vehicle was intermittently jerking sputtering and stalling. dealer stated they couldn't find any issues because no code was present. on 10/18/18 i brought the car in again because the car stalled multiple times while in motion. they stated that code says low fuel pressure sensor and they would have to replace that first to see. i noticed today there are recalls for the exact issue i'm having but recalls are only on the 2.0 model mine is the 1.0.
On october 11, 2018 the same day as hurricane michel, my 2016 ford focus st was involved in a single car accident where the vehicle cut off while in motion and lost complete control by itself, causing the car to flip on its side and be completely totaled. the cause of the crash was unknown at the time, but on october 25, 2018 ford puts out a recall for the exact model ford focus because of an issue causing the car to randomly stall. they are telling owners to keep their fuel tank above half full to avoid this problem and i know at the time my fuel tank was not above half and the indicator lights were on. i believe the cause of this crash was from the recall that ford put out only a few days after the accident totaling my 2016 ford focus st.

Inaccurate fuel gauge. first issue - my car would be reading that i had (example) 15 miles until empty and really i had 0 miles until empty. ran out of gas twice because of this issue. second issue - my car will stall out in the middle of driving/accelerating at any given time. much worse when i have less than a half/quarter tank. my car will still stall even when i do have more than a half tank of gas. most times, my car will not restart after the stall. this issue is more likely to happen as soon as i turn the car on, at a dead stop then about to accelerate, in stop and go traffic. i bought the car in june of 2018 and started to notice the fuel tank issue pretty quickly. the stalling out issue started to happen shortly after. i did receive a recall notice from ford.
I was notified that my car has been recalled. i waited a few months for the dealership to call me to let me know when i can bring my car in. i decided to take it upon myself to reach out to them and was told to bring it in. that being said, i had rescheduled my appointment several times (because life happens). i reached out again to reschedule and did not recieve a response. i reached out the lhm customer service, they said someone will be contacting me but never did. i feel like i am being ignored, and i want this car fixed or out of my lease. my car vibrates since i bought it, and now it kind of shakes when i do a turn.
When i cut off the car and hen got back in everything was dead nothing would come on would not even come out of park it would no do anythimg
