Car will not start...i was driving and the engine is acting like it needs fuel when there is gas in the tank. i had the pcv and coal.xanaster replaced except the gas tank ford store says gas tank is not deformed...

Sticky canister purge valve

After having a recall done in december of 2018 for the canister purge valve, or know as recall 18s32 all that was performed was a reprogram and nothing else. a year later my vehicle is experiencing the same problems as before, the vehicle only has 65k miles on it. i contacted multiple ford dealerships as well as ford's corporate offices and was told that i would have to come out of my own pocket for any repairs that needed to be done regarding the problems i'm experiencing, because recall 18s32 was already performed on my vehicle. after fueling up and starting my car the car will almost stall out, as well as trying to stall when sitting at a red light or stop sign. i'm also experiencing a lack of power when accelerating. my obd scanner comes up with a fault code "p1450 unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum". a lot of people are experiencing this problem even after getting the recall 18s32 performed on their vehicles. it seems like a temporary solution was put in place and unfortunately many people are suffering from it, i would like to see ford release a permanent fix to a potentially very dangerous problem!

Had recall service done for fuel tank deformation issue or so the dealerships says. but after i the car back it seems to be running great but 5 miles down the road it stalls on me and fails to crank when it did it wouldnt continue to run or idle for long before stalling again. after 30 mo s or so of priming fuel pump and retrying and letting set. it cranks up and runs fine. recall needs to be further researched or dealership needs to be investigated for fraudulently claiming to complete recall procedures and not doing so.

Recall notice was 'software' update to detect hardware issue. no issue detected. the hardware that had issued failed 2 weeks later. ford states that the recall was completed and cannot open. the equipment (canister valve) that the recall was created for failed.

Purchased used from a ford dealer used 2015 ford focus. was told that vehicle had to lern my style of driving. car shutters when going accelerating, take time to shift between 1,2,3, gears. also shutters at other speeds in the middle of shifting. cannot shift quickly from parked or in stopped position like at a stop light or when merging into traffic. car also now revs high and has to be cooled down after driving. i cannot trust vehicle to be driven by other family members due to transmission and engine acceleration problems. has been an ongoing problem but dealership charges for diagnostics and states that it is the way i drive.

I drove to the market to get some food and when i came back the car would not turn on we tried jump starting and it seemed like it wanted to start but it didn't.

Takata recall my cars transmission light is on and a message came up saying transmission at fault. also when i would stop completely at a stop sign or red light the car would shudder and make a weird noise. i've been have trouble turning it on, i would have to jump start it every now and then.

We have had a repeated code p090c that has ultimately led us to the clutch actuators which are controlled by the tcm. this has caused the transmission to jump into other gears while driving, preventing the movement of the car once parked/then engaged into reverse stops working. within the 24 hour period, the codes disappear then the mechanics cannot diagnose or confirm the issue??? i purchased my own code tester and figured this out on my own. now, ford still does not have this as a recall even though this is a major issue with this make/model. there is an extended warranty on the part itself for those in the same situation, however, finding a dealer that will make the repairs without the codes in the car, that is the real difficulty. there is a class action lawsuit floating around for this issue as well. this happens when the car is in drive on ih 35 in austin texas. this also happens when parking the vehicle once the check engine light comes on.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. while driving 20 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate. also, the check engine indicator illuminated and an abnormal noise was heard. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to have an oil change and was informed that the failure was associated with nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). the contact stated that the vehicle had previously been repaired per this recall. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer and manufacturer were informed of the failure. the failure mileage was 60,598. *tr consumer stated on my own accord ,i brought the vehicle to an authorized ford dealership and was told the vehicle was fixed. less than 60 days later the check engine light came on and i had an independent mechanic place the car on the computer and it came back the purge valve, fuel tank and the fuel pump- the recalled item(s). i returned to the ford dealership with the information and the recall letter and they refused to fix the problem, said they already fixed it, which was not true. they updated the computer software, never replaced any parts. i returned to the ford dealership with the diagnostic test which i paid for by an independent mechanic and the ford mechanic told me i had to pay for the same diagnostic test and it would cost $150 and that the parts are not covered by the recall and that ford would not pay for it. furthermore, i have contacted the ford motor company and have spoken with a kamisha and the case number is #21947630- 1888 631-3788 x77721 and have yet to be given any reasonable solution to remedy the problem.*jb

This complaint is in regards to the ford focus/fiesta dps6 transmission issue. due to the dry dual clutch system issue, the vehicle engine would shake and rumble violently while moving. this mostly occurs when the supposedly automatic transmission shifting from the first and second gear. the first time i reported this to the dealer, they replaced the clutch which stopped the rumble issue until few months later, the rumble returned. again i reported this to the dealership however this time they blamed it on the purge valve in the gas tank which they replaced. this did not fix the rumble issue and the dealership did not try to verify the rumble. they simply did not acknowledge it by stating they could not replicate the problem. few months later while i was on the freeway, the rumble occurred again but worse than before. immediately my vehicle lost power as if it's stuck at first gear. the vehicle's speed dropped tremendously which is extremely dangerous since i was on the freeway and everyone was going 60+ mph. luckily i was able to pull over safely without getting hit. i restarted the vehicle and it ran continue to rumble but not as violently, the check engine light was on. i quickly brought the vehicle to the dealership for repair. even though i have a bumper to bumper warranty, the warranty company refuse to cover the transmission repair because the dual clutch system is technically a manual clutch. for that reason they do not cover it. as a consumer, we have no idea exactly what type of parts the vehicle contains. the vehicle was advertised as automatic transmission which in common sense, it does not contain a manual clutch. the dealership was requesting $2000+ fee to replace this clutch. at the same time of this inspection, the purge valve in the gas tank was also defected and needs to be replaced.

18s32 manufacturer recall & 18v735 nhtsa recall. this recall was first posted approximately 8.5 months ago and i still have not heard anything about bringing it in for repair. this is a huge safety concern and i have a child i transport in it daily. i want and need this recall resolved asap as i will soon be transporting another young child. i can feel it acting funny as if something isn't moving properly or it is stalling like it isn't getting fuel when i am moving whether it's slow fast, short distance or long distance and has been happening more and more consistently for the last month or two

Engine was stalling when i came to stops, check engline light came on. code was for evap system. it was found the canister purge valve was faulty, causing the engine stalling. keeping the gas tank filled above half tank alleviates the problem. we replaced the purge valve but the check engine light remains on as we cannot reprogram the pcm and i cant afford to let my car sit at ford for three days before they even look at it and then the exorbitant cost to repair.

I have pick up issues due to recalled fuel cpv. i have to maintain above 1/2 tank of gas or else the fuel gauge does not register correctly causing me to run out of gas before the gauge registers empty. this has happened while i was in transit. the car has stalled while in traffic. it is very dangerous. also, the car will sputter and backfire due to vapors gathering at dangerous levels in tank.the manufacturer notified me of this recall back in january and still does not have replacement part available to do recall repair. i utilize my vehicle to transport my mother who is on oxygen. i feel very unsafe doing so because of backfiring, stalling, etc ;so i have been having to spend tons of extra money arranging for alternate transport. this is ridiculous. over 6 months to manufacture a replacement part? i want this part replaced before a worse incident is caused by this problem.

Car constantly has issues stuttering when trying to accelerate. it causes shaking in the car and only lightly lessens when the gas tank is over halfway full and/or has a recent oil change. already had a few parts replaced concerning the cpv because the gas pedal ceased functioning whilst driving on the interstate. i've gotten the recall notice letter but no full solution has been offered yet.

When trying to accelerate from stop my car sputters/ stutters and tries to stall out. it also has something wrong in the electrical system that has caused my stereo and other functions to no longer work

There is an active recall on my vehicale for cpav valve. my car is experiencing all symptoms of the recall, but the dealership is telling me i might not be covered because my vehicle passed a test a few months ago when i brought it in for another issue (the transmission, which was under warranty). they say they are waiting to hear back from ford for further instruction, but i have been waiting for more than 2 days with no response.

My 2015 ford focus has been having stalling issues. my vin# is on the recall list and the letter that i received from 12/2018 advised that i keep at least half a tank of gas in my car. however, my car stalls even when i keep a full tank. my car also shudders and sometimes even turns off after i fill my gas tank. when my car is about to stall, i see that the tachometer will suddenly fluctuate and then simply drop to zero. this usually happens when i'm about to come to a stop but occasionally occurs when i'm simply driving down the road. my car now stalls on a daily basis. i have called the ford motor company three times in the last 30 days and told them what is happening and how unsafe it is to drive a car in this way. each time i am told that they don't know when the parts will arrive to the dealership for repairs, even though my recall letter said by the end of the first quarter of 2019. i took my car to my mechanic and they also stated that my stalling issues are most likely related to the recall. i no longer drive my car on the highway and try to mainly stick to driving on backroads where possible due to fears of stalling and possibly getting into an accident but this is a highly irresponsible situation from ford. assistance would be greatly greatly appreciated. i provided the date of 4/6/19 as the date of my car stalling but, as i stated earlier, this happens daily and is unsafe.

My car stalls when on the highway & let off the gas & speed reduces rpms drop & car stalls. very dangerous. ford has a recall issue with the canister purge valve but my vin# is not on that list for some reason. please help it is dangerous!!

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. bartow ford (2800 us hwy 98 n, bartow, fl 33830, (800) 533-0425) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. while driving 70 mph, the vehicle stalled and took numerous attempts to restart. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 60,000. vin tool confirms parts not available.

The ford focus recall for the fuel tank deformation is not accurate. the recall letter we received said to maintain at least 1/2 tank of fuel, but my car has shut down multiple times while driving on the highway and at turnarounds despite having a full tank. the solution to this was previously announced for december 2018 and has been postponed until the first quarter of 2019. ford needs to be further pressured to find a solution now as this poses a major crash risk.

While driving the engine stalls, took it to the dealer as per the recall letter from ford. the car keeps stalling as before, this is dagerous as you need to press the brakes to start it and this is a hazard in the highway. taking it to the dealer againg today.

Took car in for recall in january, now it's acting up again, not shifting gears while driving. dangerous. in shop now.

This recall has been since 12/2018 and ford has no parts to fix this. i have called corporate and they do not know when they will get them. this issue has now made the car undrivable and they will not help me. i spent all morning on the phone.

Nhtsa recall number 18v735 has not been corrected of second recall to fix received. the vehicle gas gauge is reading different to the volume in the gas tank and changes during a given trip.when is this recall going to be fixed??? happens all the time.

The car shut off on me while driving and i scheduled the dealership to fix it because i found similar issues and a recall but when i dropped my car off they said no recall existed for my car and there is nothing they can about my car. when i was leaving the dealership i almost got hit in traffic because i had the same issue for two days in a row and it keeps happening.

Fuel tank deformation: my car stops with no warning at least 2 -3 times daily. it's getting worse and is now harder to restart. this is dangerous and can be deadly. i've contacted my car dealership and the part is not available in order to fix my car. i do not have a second car. i live alone. i need a car to get safely back and forth to work. i'm going to get rear ended before this is all said and done. a ford spokesperson told me i cannot get a loaner. the owner of the car dealership tells me it's ford's problem not theirs. ford tells me i'm basically out of luck and i feel like i'm driving a ticking time bomb. i need help with this mess and i need it now before i'm involved in a tragic accident. at least tell me the status of this recall #18v735. this vehicle stops with no warning weather i'm going down the road, stopping at a red light or going around a curve. it will not give any notice for me to even pull off the side of the road. stops dead!! like i'm going to be if this isn't fixed. your next question asks when did this happen. too many times to put down since it is basically daily and 3 times today.

Vehicle stalls while driving, regardless of speed and fuel level. check engine light goes on and off regularly. dealership claims nothing wrong but vehicle continues to stall.

Car randomly shuts off. no warning is given. car will shut off while in motion on any city street. car was at 3/4 tank of fuel when this occurred.

2015 ford focus se recall fuel tank deformation - dealer and ford states parts to repair not available and no estimated time for arrival.

Been waiting 2 months for fuel tank and or valve to fix recall. vehicle shutters. now i call about the parts coming in and the service writer (sr) states the fuel pump will be replaced as well. i tried to confirm this with ford and they had no knowledge of fuel pump being added to the fix.

Audible clicking noise when turning corners. shuddering, sputtering when taking off from red light. deceleration while driving in town, while driving gears changing without my knowledge, thrusting into gear while moving. clutch replaced 2017. all of this started happening about 4 months after i bought car from you mentioned dealer, new. so, since 2015, ongoing issues stated above. ford tells me it's all my imagination.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. shamaley ford (11301 gateway blvd w, el paso, tx 79936, (915) 591-8600) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

The ford focus recall for the fuel tank deformation is not accurate. the recall letter we received said to maintain at least 1/2 tank of fuel, but my car has shut down multiple times while driving on the highway and at turnarounds despite having a full tank. the solution to this was previously announced for december 2018 and has been postponed until the first quarter of 2019. ford needs to be further pressured to find a solution now as this poses a major crash risk. in addition to this, i've begun noticing issues with the steering wheel making a noise. upon taking it to a mechanic, i was told that the steering rack and pinion had to be replaced and that several other owners of the same model had complained about their steering becoming unusable. ford should issue a recall for this as well.

There was a recall for the fuel purge valve getting stuck and not allowing my car to stay on after turning my car on it will run for 5 to 10 seconds before it stalls due to loss of fuel. i took my car to ford dealership and they said they did not have the part to replace it, but they took my car in, once i got my car the very same day back. it did it again the next morning. i have tried fuel cleaners to resolve the problem but it still persists, it stalled on me while driving on this past monday, and now when i try to search for the recall for information it looks like it was taken off from their website. the issue is not fixed and they do not have the part? as a consumer what can we do to fix a defect from manufacturing. my car is a 2015 ford focus with 75k miles and there was issues with this car from the start, including the known issue about the dual clutch transmission where it stutters and shakes while trying to change gears and take off from full stop. this car should be consider a lemon car and no one should buy it. this is fraud by ford and they know it.

I received a notice back in december 2018 about a recall on a possible issue with my car's cpv possible sticking and stalling car. i feel ford has exceed a reasonable time frame in coming up with a solution to this issue. making sure i have a 1/2 tank of gas in my car at all times is not an acceptable solution to me.

On thursday evening, 11/22/2018, i was coming to a stop at a light on a city street (speed limit 35) when my car stalled without warning. moving at most 25 mph when it occurred, the oil and battery lights came on as i slowed. i tried accelerating slightly to diagnose the issue, and nothing happened. i attempted to pull into the left turn lane (mostly out of traffic) but found my power steering was compromised. i turned on my hazards, parked, and turned off the car, waited 5 seconds, and restarted the car with no trouble. i was shaken, but thankfully no damage to the car or injuries to myself or others. 2 weeks prior to the stall, i had my transmission serviced, and i was made aware of ford manufacturer recall number 18s32 and that my car was one of the affected. when my check engine light came on a week after service, error code p2195 (bank 1/sensor 1 lean) came up, and then went away. i was told it was still safe to drive and continued to do so. i was on my way to my parents' house for thanksgiving with the intent to stay overnight and have my dad work on the car in the morning when the car stalled with a 3/4 full tank of gas, despite ford's advice that the car should be safe to operate with more than a half tank. my air filter was replaced, and 5 days later the engine light comes on again, same code. i scheduled service with ford, and they verified that the engine code and the stall are related to the recall.

Tl* the contact owned a 2015 ford focus. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle began smoking without warning. the contact pulled the vehicle over and the smoke and flames became more rampant. the contact called the fire department and had the fire extinguished. there were no injuries and a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard and the whereabouts of the vehicle were unknown. the insurance company conducted an investigation of the incident and retrieved the service records of the vehicle from chapman's northeast ford (9371 roosevelt blvd, philadelphia, pa 19114, 866-577-2408). the contact was informed by the insurance claim adjuster that the fire was caused by an engine block. the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline). the manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that the vehicle had been salvaged and was not included in a recall. the manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

In my garage would not start half tank of gas. bought a new battery i didn't need. then i got letter for recall which said they would contact me in february 2019. i have received no letter.

There was a recall issued for my car and the manufacturer has not provided a remedy.

On your vehicle, the engine may stall due to a stuck canister purge valve (cpv) within the fuel vapor system. a stuck cpv can lead to excessive vacuum in the fuel vapor system, causing the plastic fuel tank to deform, resulting in an inaccurate or erratic fuel gauge indication, inaccurate distance to empty (dte), and/or other drivability concerns. the vehicle may also exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (mil). safety risk: an engine stall while driving without warning or without the ability to restart, can increase the risk of a crash. i have not received a notice to have this issue fixed.

I have notified ford of the issue with my cpv (canister purge valve), which causes my 2015 ford focus to suddenly stall while the vehicle is in motion, in october of 2018. it is now 02/25/2019 and there is still no remedy to fix this problem. this causes a great safety issue to myself and drivers around me when the car shuts off without warning.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time. the dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. the contact had not experienced a failure. vin tool confirms parts not available.

I have already fixed a recall that i just received notification of via postal mail. i will upload a pic of the recall letter and a pic of the receipt that this service was already completed prior to the notification. i had to get it repaired due to the fact the car was not accelerating properly prior to the repair. i would like to get reimbursed for the cost of the repair due to it is a recalled part. thank you. please contact me asap at [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The car is own 3 years old and i have already replaced the fuel emission valves, the cooling system, and now the unaffordable transmission control, catylattic converter, and transmission clutch have gone out to where my car wont change speeds while on the highway, nor reverse.
