CLUTCH ASSEMBLY 7

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2015 Ford Focus

Transmission shudders slips and is generally sluggish. sometimes reads in neutral and car is in drive mode. ford dealerships state clutch assembly and seals need replaced have written documentation from dealership confirming the issue. i contacted ford customer care and was told that there was nothing they will do to repair the problem as ford has not recognized that there is an issue. i was told that i am responsible for repairs even though they are aware of the problem.i was shunned and generally treated very poorly by every f ord dealership i spoke with as they stated they cannot recover the repair costs from ford.

On june 15th 2019 i was involved in my first accident. i was at a stop going straight and in front of me was a car turning to go south on the street in front of me. as i was getting my first gear ready to go my car suddenly accelerated forward and i t-boned the person turning. i had my children with me and after this accident i feel very unsafe in my car, i lost trust in ford keeping me and my family safe. i know there has been recalls but when i take it in they say it just a software update or something about a fuel tank. i have seen a recall in regards to my transmission and i have mentioned it to the dealership but they give me the run around and say that they don't show that in their systems so they can't do anything about that. now i'm hearing about the ford employees speaking out on faulty clutches.

I was driving the ford focus (2015) about 40 m/hr when it suddenly stalled and the transmission started to act weird. service engine came on and i read the code as p090c. i had to control the car right away as it stalled. read a lot about this code online and it seems to be a common reported problem with the ford focus, and there is high safety concerns as well as reoccurring issues even after repairs are completed.

18s32 manufacturer recall & 18v735 nhtsa recall. this recall was first posted approximately 8.5 months ago and i still have not heard anything about bringing it in for repair. this is a huge safety concern and i have a child i transport in it daily. i want and need this recall resolved asap as i will soon be transporting another young child. i can feel it acting funny as if something isn't moving properly or it is stalling like it isn't getting fuel when i am moving whether it's slow fast, short distance or long distance and has been happening more and more consistently for the last month or two

I paid $2,373.20 for repairs to the clutches/transmission for our daughter's 2015 ford focus. according to the detroit free press, ford has instructed its dealers to pay for these exact repairs, after we had already paid for our repairs. so, i am asking for a reimbursement for the amount we paid to repair the 2015 ford focus. https://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2019/07/18/ford-focus-dps-6-transmission-fiesta/1766990001/

My vehicle shutters at low speeds when pushing on accelerator, especially after stopping as at a stoplight. ford has replaced the clutch once already for this problem. however the problem has surfaced again. now, while driving on the highway the rpms will escalate for no apparent reason. also the transition from one gear to another seems as if it is slipping or missing, at any speed. ford dealer looked at it and said the clutch needs to be replaced again. the price is $1253.00.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. while driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle shuddered without warning. the vehicle was taken to suburban ford of waterford (248-674-4781, located at 6975 highland rd, waterford, mi 48327) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. the contact was referred to nhtsa. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 53,000.

Upon acceleration my car will skip and jump. i am told by a ford dealership that the clutch has to be replaced and stop at any point while driving. i've reached and found out the same make, model, year have the same problem.costing $1980.00 in repairs. it's a safety issue , it should be a recall issue.repairs on same type of car are being done weekly 2 to 3 at a time.

When accellaerating from a complete stop the transmission jerks

Will driving down the street the other day my car stalled out well driving this is not the first time this has happened not only that but when you accelerate my car grinds while shifting gears the ford dealership already told me it's due to my recall issue but when asked to fix it they told me i was going to have to pay them first my children were in my car had we been on the highway we could have been dead something needs to be done about this needs to be done as soon as possible because i am telling you right now if something happens to me or my family i will hold whoever is reading this email and forward personally responsible

When turning the car vibrates and shakes a lots and make some noise.not sure what this could be but need help with this before something happens. this happened upon turning take off, highway, exhilaration in city also too. i just bought the car i notice third a friend bought this to my attention i thought it was the all whee we drive. bought car03-08-20 drive out of town in april for wedding.

When trying to accelerate from stop my car sputters/ stutters and tries to stall out. it also has something wrong in the electrical system that has caused my stereo and other functions to no longer work

When putting my 2015 ford focus in reverse from park it went forward. i repeated this action 3 times before it finally reversed! i could have gone down into a ravine! took the ford focus to rivertown ford and they had the car for 3 days but could not "duplicate" the complaint so they could not fix it under warranty. also, the transmission jerks forward when put in motion and shakes when slowing down.

I was driving my car as normal and pulled in to park. i reversed and tried to go forward but the car wouldn't budge. i took my car in about a month a go to get an oil change and the problem looked at and i was told to just come in on my next service and get the problem taken care of. now the problem has turned into my car not being able to move forward

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. on several occasions, while driving 25-30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle started to vibrate abnormally. the vehicle was taken to morristown ford inc (located at 1112 w morris blvd, morristown, tn 37813, (423) 586-5520) where it was diagnosed that the automatic clutch in the transmission failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v169000 (power train). the manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 35,000. .*bf consumer stated car runs well except transmission, it shutters and shakes has been fixed one time in 2017. Takata recall i just bought this car in 03-08-19 i notice the car wheels, transmission shakes its like it didn't want to go when you hit the gas. i thought maybe its out of liniment but something is not right. in motion in city and highway, turning. i have not taken to dealer ship i saw that they are some recall on this car. if so what next do i?

Bought my car from a dealership in 2015. they didnt mention anything about any problems my car might have. it was the perfect car. i drove 6 hours to get this car. on my way home i notice the shudder and vibration. never have i felt this before. we took it to the dealership and they reset the perimeters and told us to drive it hard that these cars needed to adjust to the way we were driving it. it was still under my extended warranty. fast forward to our trip to colorado/vegas. traction control was needed yet it smelt like wire burning. turned it off. we went to the hollywood sign for pics and the car wouldn't even back up the hill. all it would do was go forward.. took it back to the shop again they said it was the clutch and it needed replaced. it was only 300 miles out of warranty at this time and they wouldnt fix it.

I'm having problems with my ford focus 2015 (75000 miles). when accelerating quickly into an intersection, there is a delay in acceleration. when it comes to deceleration, my vehicle cannot properly downshift, even when i apply the brakes, the vehicle lurches forward. i have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they have told no light on dash, no tmc. they keep insisting is the clutch that needs to be replaced and don't want to replace the tmc. dealership in rutherford

Clutch replaced twice then car quit (wouldn't accelerate when gas was pushed) in an intersection.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. while operating the vehicle, the transmission shifted improperly and caused the engine to rev very high while attempting to accelerate. the cause of the failure was not determined. king colonial ford (3565 community rd, brunswick, ga) was notified of the failure. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 60,000. the vin was unknown.

The transmission is shuttering and sometimes makes long hesitations to shift. this is dangerous and needs to be recalled. i took it to tidwell ford in kennesaw, ga and they told me its normal and until a code (wrench) lights on my dash, they cannot do anything. i bought the car with 48k on the mileage and now have 54k. the transmission (powertrain) is warrantied to 60000. i am afraid this is going to be a disaster. i would like the car fixed or another car. the gears grind and noises happen when turning. i need a resolution on this before my warranty runs out code or no code. i just picked my car up and it is still shuttering. tidwell ford did not help me.

I have a 2015 ford focus se and i have maintained my vehicle. the transmission about 3 months ago has started slipping. it shows no codes but the power is decreased, it hesitates and jerks when pulling out and it sticks when shifting. i work at a tire and auto garage and have had it looked over.

Clutch in transmission slips. recalled on other models but not this one. causes car to not take off smoothly, jitters bad enough to shake the car.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. the contact stated that the transmission would not shift into gear and the vehicle jerked. occasionally, the vehicle would jerk after switching gears. previously, the vehicle accelerated on its own and without warning while idling at a stop light. the contact had to depress the brake pedal with excessive force to stop the vehicle. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to paul cerame ford (11400 new halls ferry road, florissant, mo 63033, (314) 838-2400) where it was diagnosed that a new transmission needed to be installed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. the failure mileage was unknown.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. while driving 55 mph, the vehicle began to vibrate and the transmission started to shift erratically. additionally, the "transmission hot, turn off vehicle for five minutes" warning message illuminated. the vehicle was taken to balise ford (1979 boston rd, wilbraham, ma 01095, (413) 306-3049) where it was diagnosed that the shift actuator seized. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 93,274.

Had taken my 2015 focus into sarasota ford in sarasota, florida to be serviced and recall about the clutch recall. they had issued me a 2018 ford fusion courtesy vehicle for 3 days while working on my car for the recall, as well as the wiperblade motors bogging down to nothing on their own while under warranty. i was given a report upon pickup saying that the technician drove the car to smell for burning disc and looked through inspection port and wrote that there was no burning smell, that clutch is fine and that the wiper issue could not be duplicated. wiper issue i have personally verified upon picking up my vehicle that was never fixed. recall issue was never remedied per recall order inspection and or fix including reprogramming. i have gone on multiple websites to pull my car service history and there is no record of my car ever going in for service there. this tells me (speculation) they never reported my vehicle as being serviced, and also all websites including ford pass is stating my vehicle as being unresolved with the issue. i have checked today as well (2-10-20) and no changes or record has been recorded. currently in the process of finding my vehicle report from them for documentation. recall was issued for clutch disk fracture/potential fire risk

Brought the car brand new, enjoyed driving it but then a year later the car would feel like it would stall but it wouldn't stall then when braking it would accelerate more. took it to the dealership at honolulu ford 1370 n. king street honolulu, hi 96817 for an oil change and told them about it also told them i got a recall letter in the mail and showed it to them but all i got was "oh you don't have to worry about that right now"! recently i have called the dealership about the recall and still nothing. the customer service is terrible and very rude.i don't know what to do so the only thing i can do is call them every week and ask about the recall.

My 2015 ford focus hesitates during take-off with a known dual-clutch transmission problem. this hesitation causes the car to jolt back and forth with a possible cause to crash into the vehicle in front of you during slow traffic. the service advisor at the ford dealership has explained this as an annoyance instead of a safety issue. ford has extended the warranty for the clutch replacement, but i bought this car with a rebuilt title and ford will not honor or cover the clutch under the warranty. they want to charge me $2000 on a known problem because of the rebuilt title. now a days it does not take much for an insurance company to total a car with a small fender bender. ford motor company should cover the transmission warranty of the car with either a clean title or salvaged title.

Audible clicking noise when turning corners. shuddering, sputtering when taking off from red light. deceleration while driving in town, while driving gears changing without my knowledge, thrusting into gear while moving. clutch replaced 2017. all of this started happening about 4 months after i bought car from you mentioned dealer, new. so, since 2015, ongoing issues stated above. ford tells me it's all my imagination.

There was a recall for the fuel purge valve getting stuck and not allowing my car to stay on after turning my car on it will run for 5 to 10 seconds before it stalls due to loss of fuel. i took my car to ford dealership and they said they did not have the part to replace it, but they took my car in, once i got my car the very same day back. it did it again the next morning. i have tried fuel cleaners to resolve the problem but it still persists, it stalled on me while driving on this past monday, and now when i try to search for the recall for information it looks like it was taken off from their website. the issue is not fixed and they do not have the part? as a consumer what can we do to fix a defect from manufacturing. my car is a 2015 ford focus with 75k miles and there was issues with this car from the start, including the known issue about the dual clutch transmission where it stutters and shakes while trying to change gears and take off from full stop. this car should be consider a lemon car and no one should buy it. this is fraud by ford and they know it.

2015 ford focus dual clutch powertrain transmission shutters and sputters upon takeoff, revs up at very low speeds. doesnt want to accelerate right away. i bought the car with 55000 miles on it and has been an issue since. now its going to cost 1500 dollars to fix as my personal warranty nor ford will cover the clutch replacement, even though this is an ongoing problem in this vehicle!

Ive had my lug nuts swallon and unable to change my own tire. on three different occasions. nail in my tire. took it to the dealership immediately the clamped 2 times that they fixed my lug nuts and never did. ive spoke to several other focus owners and have the same issue. the power train clutch has been replaced 4 times in the last three in a half years. ive had my car stall out in me several times at a stop light. it takes it a minute to slip into reverse. doesnt matter what gear you are switching it from it will go into netural/park before clicking into reverse.

Coolant reservoir cracked, lost a lot of coolant which caused my engine to overheat. was driving down road and noticed my coolant engine sensor overheating. stopped the car in a park.

The "dry" clutch went out as i was driving uphill, reducing my movement to a jerking, stuttering motion that just barely allowed me to drive to dealership. this clutch failure follows months of stuttering, jerking at low speeds as if the car would stall. taking the car for regular maintenance found "nothing wrong." this clutch had already been replaced once at only 26,700 miles .focus had 68,000 miles when it want bad again. dealership reports seeing many problems with this "dry" clutch. ford will not recognize danger associated with it.

On thursday evening, 11/22/2018, i was coming to a stop at a light on a city street (speed limit 35) when my car stalled without warning. moving at most 25 mph when it occurred, the oil and battery lights came on as i slowed. i tried accelerating slightly to diagnose the issue, and nothing happened. i attempted to pull into the left turn lane (mostly out of traffic) but found my power steering was compromised. i turned on my hazards, parked, and turned off the car, waited 5 seconds, and restarted the car with no trouble. i was shaken, but thankfully no damage to the car or injuries to myself or others. 2 weeks prior to the stall, i had my transmission serviced, and i was made aware of ford manufacturer recall number 18s32 and that my car was one of the affected. when my check engine light came on a week after service, error code p2195 (bank 1/sensor 1 lean) came up, and then went away. i was told it was still safe to drive and continued to do so. i was on my way to my parents' house for thanksgiving with the intent to stay overnight and have my dad work on the car in the morning when the car stalled with a 3/4 full tank of gas, despite ford's advice that the car should be safe to operate with more than a half tank. my air filter was replaced, and 5 days later the engine light comes on again, same code. i scheduled service with ford, and they verified that the engine code and the stall are related to the recall.

I contacted ford regarding safety recall notice 18s07 / nhtsa recall 18v-169 and asked why my vin number was not included in this recall. my ford focus 2015 was manufactured on march 20, 2015, in the same michigan plant and is experiencing the same clutch shuddering as described in your recall notice. ford's answer was that vin numbers are the sole method for determining recalls. they clearly did not throw the net far enough to cover their quality and design issues. affected vehicles equipped with 1.0l fox gtdi or 1.6l sigma gtdi engines with b6 manual transmissions may experience clutch slip which can lead to a potentially dangerous situation. this vehicle is driven by my daughter and she experiences shuttering when she accelerates the vehicle. she doesn't have enough power to accelerate quickly which could easily cause an accident as she pulls out in traffic. i have read about many other people having the same scary experience while accelerating and their frustration and confusion about why their focus was not included in the recall. i would like ford to re-examine how they determined the vin numbers affected and why my vehicle was not included since it clearly has the same potentially dangerous issue. your help would be appreciated.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. while driving, the fuel gauge warning indicator illuminated and failed to provide an accurate reading. in addition, while driving, the vehicle failed to shift gears. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline); however, the part needed for the repair was not available. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the contact called sheehy ford of warrenton at (540) 423-0904 (located at 6443 lee hwy, warrenton, va 20187) and was informed that the part was not available. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. the approximate failure mileage was 80,000. vin tool confirms parts not available. *tr

The car shakes and stutters in lower gear and it is very dangerous. when i go from a stop into first gear the car will not immediately start and when it does, it shutters. the whole car shakes when i am driving in the city because of the start/stop. this is going to cause an accident. other ford focus cars from 2015 are recalled, but mine is not for some reason. the transmission is going to fail and i asked ford to help re-set the transmission or replace it, and they will not. please help me.

While accelerating the vehicle doesn't know when to shift into gears causing the vehicle to shudder and make a rattling noise. received a code saying 'transmission fault, service now.' while hitting bumps the vehicle makes a crunching noise.

On or about 9/23/2018 and while driving my ford focus hb se, i received an error message on my dash that read "transmission fault service now". i was able to pull over safely and later waited for a tow to my home. on 9/25/2018 i contacted a ford dealership near my home (suburban ford of ferndale) in michigan. the car was towed on 9/28/2018 to suburban ford dealership for service. initially, the thinking was the transmission module (tcm) needed servicing, however the service department informs me that the duel-clutch component is defective and needs replacing. i further understand that i'm not alone with this issue. the car has 62,056 miles on the road and has had typical maintenance (tires, oil change, etc.). while ford's extended warranty covers tcm, customers, such as myself, having issues with defective dual-clutch are having to come out of pocket for repairs. this vehicle has merely 62,056 road miles not 162,056 miles.

My 2015 ford focus had a recall due to a faulty transmission in 2017. the cars engine would shudder when switching from 1st to 2nd gears in the automatic/manual transition. i replaced the transmission under the recall warranty. however, almost a year later to this date my transmission/engine is showing the same signs.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. the contact experienced clutch failure with the vehicle and took it to autonation ford lincoln union city (4355 jonesboro rd, union city, ga 30291, (770) 674-6075) for repairs. after the repair, the clutch malfunctioned again and the vehicle was taken to a different unknown dealer. the second dealer stated that the vehicle was not covered under a warranty and they would have to charge for the repair. the vehicle was not repaired. the diagnosis information was unknown. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 90,023.

Car shutters between 5 to 15 miles per hour. replaced battery transmission light came on stating transmission is hot. took to ford said its a dual clutch that's stuck and it's a shift fork that needs replacement. i should receive an transmission issue after replacing a battery then be told it's a clutch that stuck. appears to be the same issue from the 2014 ford focus. this happened while driving back from replacing the battery's. told by ford its mimic a bad battery.

The power steering would sporadically fail while driving causing dangerous control issues. it finally failed completely. the transmission has been repaired twice for issues with slipping and continues to do so

While accelerating the vehicle doesn?t know when to shift into gears causing the vehicle to shudder and make a rattling noise. received a code saying ?transmission fault, service now.? while hitting bumps the vehicle makes a crunching noise.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. when the vehicle was started, a grinding noise was heard. there were no warning indicators illuminated. when engaged in drive, the vehicle hesitated and a noise emerged from the transmission. also, while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle lost acceleration. the vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic and kept for diagnostic testing, but the cause of the failures could not be identified. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 69,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford focus. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v169000 (power train). the parts to do the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the dealer (casa ford, 5815 montana ave, el paso, tx 79925, (915) 779-2272) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.

Transmission hesitates to shift and sometimes works un-expectedly. trying to make it go in a traffic situation is very dangerous and it jumping into action makes it dangerous as well double clutch is not consistant.

2015 ford focus se shudders when starting from 1-2nd gear, i feel like this is a safety issue. it does everytime the car starts from stop position.
