We have classified the 1052 complaints from 2012 Ford Focus about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
I have about 98000 miles on my 2012 focus and i just has a message warning me of transmission issues. before the warning there were no problems shifting but as soon as the warning came on it has a hesitation in the gear shifts. after i turned the car off and back on it had no issues so i changed it to manual shift and i had no more issues for the time being but i looked under the car and there is a very light drip around the point that the transmission meats the engine so im guessing it is the common issue of bad seals and a contaminated clutch.
The issue i have is with communication from the manufacturer. ford has complied with the law and sent me a hard copy letter in the mail. however, their online communication is not as good and is downright misleading. while logged into their website, you can access a recall portal and see if your vehicle has any open recalls. currently, the information on this part of their website is false. as you can see from the first photo, the ford website claims i have no open recalls. this information is not correct and is contradicted by ford's own hard copy letter they mailed to me. in the second photo you can see that the nhtsa website also contradicts the ford website. considering that most people use online and digital services more frequently than physical mail, it is very importation this information is up-to-date. as i said before, ford did comply with the law by sending me a letter in the mail. however, they failed to keep with the spirit of the law by not updating their website. this may be an attempt to purposefully mislead consumers into thinking there is nothing wrong with their vehicle. this type of incorrect information, whether done intentionally or incompetently, is dangerous to the public. regulations should be modernized to require manufacturers to keep their digital and online information as up-to-date as their hard copy mailings. thank you.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. the contact stated that while driving, the transmission was slipping out of gears, shaking and shorter. the check engine warning light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to el cajon ford dealer, (1595 e main st, el cajon, ca 92021, (619) 312-4107) and was diagnosed that the dps 6 automatic transmission clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa. the failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
Vehicle purchased august 30, 2012. two recalls for power shift six speed auto trans, clutch shudder. taken in both times in accordance with warranty and recall instructions. in both instances vehicle was never fixed based on safety codes and instructions. contacted ford motor and dealership. in both instances compliance was refused. last breakdown, jan. 2020, regarding recall was denied due to claims that vehicle was not properly warranted. took vehicle to dealer for recall issue again, and was told vehicle was not warranted for clutch and unsafe to operate. i believe the vehicle was never safe to drive! therefore, not only do i not have the funds to fix the original recall, but i do not have any vehicle or access to a vehicle. recalls are not ever to be the responsibility of the consumer, especially when vehicle was not properly brought up to codes and standards in the first place. all attempts to negotiate a civil outcome have failed, and now ford has completely locked me out of all access to any reps. and/or uppers authority supervisors, thus forcing me to file this complaint, which i hope resolves this issue and prevents me from obtaining legal representation. as a side note, if ford or woltz and wind refuses to make this wrong, right - i will also be moving forward to the atty general as well as consumer affairs. i thought it was only fair to both parties (including yourself) to let you know all copies from this and any other decisions and/or correspondence will be copied and forwarded to said entities named. if that doesn't guarantee me a total resolve, i will then contact an attorney and file a civil suit-which on the commonwealth clearly states .. .i am also eligible to become part of the class action suit against ford. i have until feb.20, 2020 and i am involved in that also. *dl
My vehicle is showing symptoms of a clutch issue that has been acknowledged by ford. dealer said this is exactly the issue but cant cover it under the warranty because its past 7 year. the car is under 100k miles so i feel this should still be addressed.
It is my understanding that ford willingly and knowingly sold cars with faulty transmissions. after multiple complaints and a class action , ford extended the warranties under 14m01 (7years/100,000 miles) and 14m02(10 years/ 150,000) miles . my car , along with multiple other complaints that can be found online,is experiencing same shuddering issues at low speeds that are covered under the 14m01 extended warranty. however, my car is at 110,000 miles and per ford and dealer are not covered. the issues are clearly related to a design flaw from ford, and not as a result of a vehicle milage/age. i am requesting that ford extend the warranty to same as 14m02 as it is clearly a design flaw from the factory. the shaft seal leaks fluid in the clutch, and ford has admitted this flaw , and it doesn't matter of this happened under 100,000 miles or over 100,000 miles, the issue lies with the design.
When first accelerating from 0 mph, the car will struggle to shift out of first gear. it constantly jumps and jerks between 10-20 mph. it feels like someone who is newly learning how to drive a stick shift is shifting the car. as an automatic, it should not be having these problems. this is the second time this has occurred with the car. the first time the computer had to be completely replaced.
Shuddering shaking from take off through 1st and 2nd gear and also takes a while to shift from 1st to 2nd gear.
My 2012 focus has had shudder problems and some scary close calls with the clutch since i bought it three years ago. every time i took it to be checked the dealership told me it didn't meet the criteria to get fixed. well guess what...my extended warranty just ran out and now they tell me i need the clutch! the service guy said he has to contact ford and hopefully they 'will be in a good mood' so they will help! i'm putting in this complaint because i should not have to pay for their mistakes, nor can i financially! from everything i've read they won't be helping!
While making a turn the vehicle began to move then the engine revved up to 7000 rpm then slammed into gear the next shift did the same thing. i was almost hit by on coming traffic because the vehicle failed to move. after pulling over the vehicle had no reverse and could only be driven at very low speeds without feeling like it was going into neutral before shifting. the vehicle is now at the dealer who has stated it has a transmission concern. this is a serious safety issue!
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while the contact's son was driving 60 mph, the vehicle began to shudder, seize, and the power train assist warning indicator illuminated. the contact's son managed to veer to the shoulder of the road. when the vehicle was turned off and restarted, it resumed normal operation. the vehicle was taken to asheville ford lincoln (611 brevard rd, asheville, nc 28806, (828) 276-1075) where it was diagnosed that the power control module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred multiple times. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 13v523000 (power train). the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to nhtsa to file a complaint. the failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

Driving ford focus on highway at roughly 70 mph. car dash gave error saying transmission malfunction while driving. after error came up while driving, when i hit the gas pedal, nothing happened and i lost all acceleration control of vehicle. i had to coast to side of highway. turned off car let it sit on highway shoulder. when restarted, the car moved but did not accelerate when i hit the gas. took car to ford service center where they said issue was with tcm and clutch which caused the car to go into a neutral state while driving.
P073e dtc dealer recommends new transmission after changing shift module. daughter was almost rear ended when vehicle appruptly lost power on major roadway.
When driving on the interstate the vehicles transmission malfunctions. it displays a warning stating the transmission is overheating and must be serviced. the vehicle looses all power and when going 65 mph (if it ever reaches that) all of a sudden cars have to swerve around me because the car has no power to continue. twice i almost got hit from behind being stuck in the middle of the interstate.
When i accelerate it sounds like the car is in "neutral" and the left front tire/wheel is make a skidding sound. random and unexpected when it happens. has been doing this since summer and i thought one of the recalls might fix the problem. taking it to three places since it sounds like it might be the design of the dps6 transmission. it only happens when i am accelerating from a dead stop such as a stop light or when pulling out onto a road. has happened 5 or 6 times since summer.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while driving 5 mph, the vehicle began to hesitate and an abnormal noise was heard. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 13v523000 (power train). the contact called autonation ford mobile (located at 901 east interstate 65 service rd s, mobile, al 36606, (251) 202-2016) and informed them of the failure. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 115,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while driving with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle jerked, lost power, and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the contact pulled over, turned the vehicle off and on, but the vehicle failed to resume normal operation. the contact attempted to shift into reverse, but was unsuccessful. the contact was able to drive at low speeds. the vehicle was taken to glenn bush ford (619 1st st, apollo, pa 15613, (724) 478-4113) where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed. the vehicle was not repaired. nhtsa campaign number: 13v523000 (power train) was referenced. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 54,740.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while driving 30 mph, the brake pedal was lightly depressed and the vehicle jerked violently. in addition, the transmission malfunction warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 185,707. *bf *tr
During my driving, the engine accelerates by itself and lost power, no gear shifting during driving, i only can drive it at a max of 1500 rpm a go no higher than 35mhp. transmission dtc p073a, p074a.
Ford dealership states "clutch shudder problem" occurring, but theres a service call on it only to inform me that the warranty has run out and the extension on the repairs of this have expired. i was never informed of this repair, had my services completed. when inquiring to the ford dealership that serviced the transmission for $249 last march,as well as ford customer relations dept, i was informed by both that unless someone comes in with this complaint they do not repair it. lucky me it has lasted 9 months past the "service call extension date", 9 months past the "manufacturer warranty". this i also believe is the result of the gas valve not malfunctioning since prior to the recall for that-back in 2015 i reported this and in 2016 prior to the service call for the tcm i had it serviced as well! now they are acting as if they did not know the dual-clutch transmission was faulty and are refusing to repair their faulty parts! i'm a nurse for the federal government, i just want to get back and forth to work in the vehicle i pay for (7 payments remaining by the way)!! make them fix their mistake! the gas valve stalling the car probably related to the transmission problems now having it had stalled the cars before they owned that problem!! for the record there were far less miles on my car when they had to repair the tcm!
Vehicle came out of gear in a stop light intersection while turning left. an accident was narrowly avoided. the tcm had been replaced two days prior. i returned the car to the dealership that replaced the tcm, they kept the car for five days, stated they could not reproduce the failure, and refused to take further action. i feel the car is unsafe and ford is refusing to address the problem. historically, we have had five clutch packs replaced and at least three tcm's. furthermore, this vehicle has been in the shop for transmission repair more than 60 days in the past five years.
While in columbus, ohio, caught in heavy traffic, uphill, a red "transmission malfunction!" light went on, and the car immediately started shuddering and lurching forward. i was only going 5 - 10 mph in traffic, but the car was also shaking and when i came to a full stop the rpms would go up and down
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. the contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle independently shifted out of drive. the engine warning light illuminated. the contact was able to coast to the side of the road powered off the engine. the vehicle was restarted but the failure recurred. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed that the transmission control module failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was later towed to (parrish ford dealer, (2900 river rd w, goochland, va 23063, (804) 556-4444) and was diagnosed that the diagnostic trouble code represented a failure with the clutch. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact stated that a software updated under customer satisfaction program 15b22-19n07 was completed. the contact stated that the transmission control module was not replaced after continue transmission failure as authorized by ford dealer. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 239,000. *dt*jb
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while driving approximately 30 mph, the check engine and transmission warning indicators illuminated and the vehicle lost power. the vehicle was taken to wyatt johnson ford (646 thompson ln, nashville, tn 37204, (615) 244-3615) where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 192,758.
Car shutters and stalls. not much power. had tcm repaired and the dual clutch multiple times.
This was a recall already that is hazardous to all drivers on the road includong the driver. the car will stall, studder, and give no power when pulling off. i cant understand how something so dangerous that also cost me my life would have a limited warranty on a saftey recall. this should be a lifetime warranty on this. because they caim to fix the issue but if it continues to break down after 2 months 3 months. why is their a limited time frame on safety recall and the saftey of drivers and the owner.this has caused accident to others. because when a recall is done. you believe the issue is fixed. it should continue to have the same problem. then the limited warranty is up. now you're stuck with a safety hazardous car that is dangerous to put on the road. please help. i did stall on the road i had to get the car towed. i was stalled due to this recall. now it's happening about. drivers safety shouldnt have a limit this other incident occurred due to their warranty not holding up with keeping the roads safe. the same safety recall is now starting to cause road hazardous issues again that will be unsafe for the road and myself. the cars not even 10 years old.
I didn't get to finish my 1st complaint..about my 2012 ford focus transmission problem. ive had the transmission fixed twice already under the warrany and now its doing it again and my warranty ran out 5 mos. ago so ford wont fix it again? i don't understand why this isn't a recall? i am scared to drive this car and i have 3 children i drive around. and now the transmission is hesitating and shuddering again and i cant afford to pay for it to be fixed. please recall the 2012 ford focus transmission problems so i can get my car fixed so me & my kids feel safe on the road !! please !! i just cant believe its not recalled after seeing the millions of complaints about this car and transmission problems?? i don't understand that??
I had an extended warranty on my 2012 ford focus. transmission. it is still way under mileage only 50,000 on my car. just recently had a problem with my car and it has to do to defaults in the cluth. my my car is at the ford dealership in williamsburg right now waiting on ford headquarters to decide if they are going to cover the expenses or not. my warranty expired 2 months before this happened. but still way under mileage on warranty. i took it to ford dealership in williamsburg va they said the cost to me would be 1,600.00. they said they were contacting the main headquarters to ford about this matter to see if they will pay for this since they knew there was a problem in these cars when they sold them. waiting on response from headquarters at ford to see 8f they are going to cover the cost . i feel they should. this happened while driving it the gears slipping. that's why i took it to the shop. it's at williamsburg ford dealership as we seek waiting on ford to get back to them and if they are going to pay for the clutch to be replay ed in my 2012 ford focus.
Transmission felt stuck. didn't want to shift gears. when it did shift into the next gear, the car jumped. at the stop light, tried taking off and vehicle stalled, then finally slipped into gear. the car jumped as it shifted into gears, but once riding it was ok, until i slowed down. the car would jump as the gears shifted down. this has never happened before
Vehicle has faulty dual-clutch transmission with a clutch that needs repaired. dealership refuses to fix it even though it's under an extended warranty. the car is part of the ford class action lawsuit due to the transmission. vehicle is a safety risk to drive because they won't fix it and the clutch could stop working while driving causing a crash.
The 2012 ford focus has 71648 and the transmission is no longer working.that seems too early for a car's transmission to no longer be working. my daughter was driving the vehicle at about 55 mph..and then she stopped and then it would not start up correctly. we had to get far towed.and was told it is the transmission.
My purge valve is not working properly which has thrown my engine light to come on and when i put gas in it and start it up it stalls out on me.
While driving on the interstate the vehicles transmission disengages and you are unable to accelerate or control the vehicle. you must safely remove yourself from the roadway. this has happened multiple times and ford refuses to help because we have had all of the recalls fixed. this is part of the transmission issue with the computer. we are also experiencing the jerking of the transmission as it tries to shift into the correct gears due to the clutch. ford refuses to fix this problem as well because we have already had it recalled. these issues are serious and could cause a major accident or fatality. these vehicles are not safe and unreliable. ford needs to stand behind their products and make things right with the customers who own these vehicles.
Transmission jerks in and out of gear and most recently will not shift into drive or reverse.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while driving 60 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the noise continued when the ignition was turned off. the vehicle was taken to lithia ford lincoln of boise (located at 8853 w fairview ave, boise, id 83704, (208) 398-2106) where it was diagnosed that the electronic system/transmission and acm cord from the steering wheel to the radio needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was informed of the failure. the failure mileage was 129,000.
When driving in stop/go traffic, transmission problems cause the car to lurch and jerk. when transitioning onto freeway, at times there will be minimal power as the transmission refuses to shift and the engine stays between 3500 to 4500 rpms. this results in merging into 70 mph traffic at 30-40 mph. when transitioning from freeway to city road, car will have no power for 3 to 5 seconds and then massive power lunging forward for 2 to 3 seconds before losing power and allowing for braking.
My 2012 model year ford focus has a defective transmission that has failed three times before. now it has failed for the fourth time. they symptom is failure to engage in drive and the car will not move from stop. it will shudder violently when shifting gear. this is unsafe because it will happen when driving in traffic on city streets or on the highway. now that the tranmission has failed again for the forth time, ford will not pay for the repair fully (they will only cover $750) while i have to pay the remaining $1700. since this transmission problem has been occuring since in bought the car new in 2011, i should not be reponsible for the repair. furthermore this is a safety issue that should be fixed once an for all by ford. they should not be allowed to walk away from this problem that is latent in their product. history: bought vehicle new may 13, 2011 first repair (clutch replacement) september 28, 2012 second repair february 28, 2015 third repair june 29, 2017 fourth failure (documented by the dealer) september 30, 2019. ford will not cover the full repair cost. instead i have to pay $1700. the dealer filed a claim for me with ford as ford will not speak to me about this issue. they advise me to only work through the dealer when i call them on the phone. the dealer has since filed an appeal for me and included all the documentation with the full history of my vehicle showning all the previous times that they repaired it for the same problem. however ford stilll did not agree to cover the cost. they said $750 is all they can authorize for this repair. i do not know how they came up with this amount. however, as i said above, i think this is a latent problem that inherent to this car and not related to how the car is used. the failure occurs every two years. its is not safe to be out in traffic because it me, my family or others.
Check engine light will randomly come on, transmission will mess up, and then check engine will go off, car will drive fine for a week, then continue the problem. sent car to get looked at said the computer was giving the code for switch b clutch, spent 365$to get it fixed and then a little over a week later problems started again but worse than before. my car only had 76,000 miles on it, shouldn't have any issues with transmission yet.
My vehicle vibrates, shimmies, and shakes on take off and on turns. dangerous to drive especially crossing a highway. i have had it accessed at my ford dealership and they said to replace the clutch and transmission input seals. there is a program out 14m01 that extends the warranty and field service alerts for this vehicle. ford customer service said the vehicle is covered. when the dealership entered it in the system, the repair was denied by ford. i know there is a law suit against ford for this same problem. i need help to get my vehicle repaired by ford. the customer service said that the dealership service manager should submit for warranty. i don't understand why there are denying this repair. i hope nothing else goes wrong with the leaking transmission seals while i am driving the vehicle because ford refuses the repair. driving somewhere where there is a stop light on every corner will give you whiplash. crossing highways is very dangerous. you need to make sure nothing is coming for a long way away. this has happened since i bought it new in 2012. at first i thought it was because it was new. when i took it to the ford dealership, i was told there was no fix. now there is a fix. i took it this last time to the dealership 9/23/2019. there aare 41000 miles on the vehicle. please help!
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. the vehicle stalled while driving the vehicle operated at reduced speed the contact was concerned that the transmission was defective while driving at 65 mph, without warning, the vehicle stalled. the contact was able to restart the vehicle. the contact stated that the vehicle operated at reduced speed. additionally, the reverse gear was inoperable. the vehicle was taken to a pepboy's auto care center to be diagnosed. the contact was informed of dtc code: p090c- clutch actuator circuit low. the code was cleared. an appointment was scheduled with friendly ford, 660 n decatur blvd, las vegas, nv 89107, (866) 724-9143, to be diagnosed. the contact was informed that the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or to duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. ford country, 280 n gibson rd, henderson, nv 89014, (888) 360-8509, was also contacted and made aware of the failure. the contact stated that she received recall notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v735000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the vin tool showed no recall subjected to the vehicle. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 83,717.
The ford focus transmission/clutch system is dangerous to both the operator and other drivers on the road. all ford focus/fiestas with the dps6 transmission systems should be immediately recalled and removed from united states' roadways. the owners of these vehicles should be reimbursed the cost they paid for the vehicles at the expense of ford motor company. the inconsistencies in acceleration and maintaining gear are endangering lives. the longer these models stay on the road, the more likely they are to fail. since ford is no longer replacing/repairing these issues, people are being forced to drive defective cars that can fail without any notice. please do the right thing and recall these vehicles immediately. my vehicle has had the clutch system replaced 5 times in only 62,000 miles. the transmission is now slipping again but ford refuses to repair it further. i am now driving a vehicle that is considered dangerous.
We took the car in to get fixed because the check engine light was on. when i turn on the car and start driving the car feels like it loses its speed and it feels like the car is being pulled back every time its driven forward. the car feels as if its being forced to drive and it happens every time the car is being driven. we took it in to star ford lincoln glendale on 1101 s brand blvd glendale, ca 91204, phone number (818)502-1901 where they told us they fixed the car but the car remained with the same problems with no evidence of fixed difference. when we picked up the car after dropping it of at star ford lincoln we had to jump start the car because it no longer turned even though the car would turn on before we dropped it off. the car also started leaking water from the radiator even though that was not one of the reasons we left the car there. after picking up the car fro there it has been remained park because we can not move it.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford focus. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. also, the vehicle hesitated and the steering wheel seized. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. the vehicle was also taken to ford of murfreesboro (1550 nw broad st, murfreesboro, tn 37129, (615) 713-1436) for unknown repairs to the transmission. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 100,000.
19s22 recall. i was driving home from port huron to clinton township. my car went from 70 mph hour on the freeway to 35 mph. absolutely no warning. i cannot accelerate more than 35 mph. the very next morning i brought my car into the ford dealership at 9 mile in harper because the same problem had occurred months before in may. i told her that same thing happened before my car is not accelerating my rpm shot up and i cannot go anywhere so she asked me to bring it in i did i asked her about the outstanding recall on the car she told me that her guys forgot to look at it. ford had my car for a week i lost my job and i also do lift on the side so i'm out $1200 just in the week. they called me, and said itll cost around $2k for the clutch system. that's funny because i don't use the manual side of the car but apparently it's built into the transmission. so again i asked about the recall. it clearly states on your website that if ford has to do the recall and there's any other repairs that need to be done with for the cause of all of this that the parts and labor are free. they charged my dad's credit card $1938.78. i asked her again but there was a recall down on the car she said oh well we did the recall and that was for the purge valve i said ok well where is that located she told me was in the engine so you didn't do the recall 1st you just went straight for the clutch? then you're telling me that had nothing to do with it well how do we know now after he took the 2000 and even admitted that you didn't do the recall 1st gear went straight to the clutch system so if you wouldn't did the recall 1st i wouldn't have been out $2000 if you just did your job. then i pick up the car. and the same thing happened again, and the check engine light came on. so again i had to drop it off.
I have already had to take my ford focus 2012 se..i have already had my car checked out for the transmission and i feel like it's still running poorly i can hear the transmission still getting stuck and the words transmission failure has appeared on my dashboard... now the fuel gauge is definitely not working...have invested too much for this car already as i am leasing and i have paid 3xs the amount the car is worth...and now afraid anything can go wrong while driving the car....what can i do?? seems no one has anything to help me...i have always trusted ford...now what...am i to die in the car before it will be replaced...i have paid too much to worry like this...my family will not let it go if anything happens to me as a result of these recalls that do not get fixed...i'm going back to the dealer and see if they will honor what you say...i feel like no one is caring about the state of my transmission which is still not right. when i drive on high ways it revs toll hits right gear and pulls constant on regular city streets..please tell me what to do...i don't feel safe in my own vehicle...not anymore..please help i'm 54 and do not have means to start again...please help me.*dt *tr
After multiple transmission visits the vehicle is guzzling gas, still shuddering with a lack of power. we primarily only drive my wife's truck so we don't get stranded.
Still having issues with the transmission, shuddering in lower gears, jerks and lunges. sometimes the rpm's fluctuate. also need to bring back in for service for the fuel gauge.
I purchased a 2012 ford focus 11/2017 since then have had power train /transmission replaced 2 times larest in sept. 2019. i am again experiencing the same types of symtoms leading to same. called service where work was done in sept. and told wait alittle longer for symtoms to show on the meter. but you can bring in you chose. i am scared to wait and last experience left me in an intersection vehicle wouldnt start and unable to get an ok to tow. used someone else aaa to tow in. one week without a car no rentals avalilable due to high volume of ford recalls stated at every ford dealer in san diego. i could pay out of pocket but rental requirements and no credit card made it ineligible to do so. ford okd a one day rental. no vehicles available i was told.
