I was in a lane beginning to merge onto the highway. this car was to my left and did not see me in their blind spot trying to merge right too early. the car behind me was following too close not allowing me to be able to slam on my breaks. if my horn worked i could have alerted the driver that a car was in their blind spot. luckily no accident occurred, but i'd rather one not happen period. my horn has been going in and out for quite a while. i have changed the fuse a numerous amount of times and got the plugs checked. no one can tell me what is wrong. this car almost hit me due to this horn issue. also, i can not pass vehicle inspection due to my horn not working and the security sound not sounding when it is being locked.
When first accelerating from 0 mph, the car will struggle to shift out of first gear. it constantly jumps and jerks between 10-20 mph. it feels like someone who is newly learning how to drive a stick shift is shifting the car. as an automatic, it should not be having these problems. this is the second time this has occurred with the car. the first time the computer had to be completely replaced.
Breaks failed. was driving straight on a city road that is also deemed a highway and was approaching a stop light. tried to stop going approx 15 mph felt a click and then nothing, brakes did not engage.
My 2012 ford focus transmission was repaired under the previous recall. the transmission started to act up in the past few days. it's stuttering and the jerking moving from a stop. my brother who is a mechanic says it's probably the clutch again. is it covered under the current recall. it has 136500 miles on it. i need the car for both my jobs. i'll not paying $2000 for a new clutch.

The radio on the stock focus is dangerous. the random static and loud noises coming from the radio is a safety hazard it can sound like an explosion. i got anxiety so bad i had to remove my stock radio harness from the back of the radio.
It seems as the transmission needs reprogram the body control module with updated software it seems to be stuck on s instead of normal drive and it has problems when accelerate and shift
Radio randomly screeches at a very high frequency. sounds like a gun shot at first then ear piercing screeching. even does it when the car is off. seems to multiple complaints regarding this on this particular vehicle. there is no warning when this occurs and it does not do it every day. major safety hazard when you are driving down the road and this noise comes out of nowhere. when you shut the car off the noise continues. even continues after removing the key and locking the doors.
When i make a stop and try to move the vehicle, i feel vibrations, lost of power. i did not know that ford recalled the vehicle to solve the problem. i just called but ford refuse to fix. the agent to whom i spoke, said that the mileage is above 100 000 miles. the current mileage is 173 000 miles but i have been driving with this problem for long time.

2012 focus s a majority of the time from a stop vehicle starts jerking and i don't own a stick shift. also as it's jerking the rpms go really high as if i need to shift idk but also every time i put it in park it rolls about quarter-incput it in park it rolls about a half an inch or more then i hear a click well it's more like a tin can sound i hate it i hope it's not my transmission

When i entered the vin number for my vehicle it said that there were no recalls for this vehicle?? i have already had to return the vehicle to the dealership to have several manufacturing recall problems addressed!!?? i should have received a recall letter about the clutch problem in this vehicle! why have not received anything? why does your system not recognize that this vehicle dies have recalls! how can zi get a letter from the manufacturer so have tried everything!
Radio has went out and now lights have become dim on the dashboard. radio is completely off but still hearing static noise through the speakers.

Car shuttered mid traffic light so i pressed on the accelerator and it jerked back into speed and i was going under a highway when my car wouldn't accelerate anymore and started jerking again so i pulled into a gas station and realized that i could not reverse either.

I reported about a vehicle safety complain/recall like 2-3mos from now but it's been a while since it's like no reply or actions coming from you because i just wanna know if for some reasons it's already available for my car for a recall or something in your system or i still have to wait for it? i have a car that i believe a latchkey/locked in the driver's seat is broke because whenever i'm driving from 30-50 mph it's keep on opening the door and esp. when turning that's why i put some duct tape on it just to prevent from opening by itself. i just hope you can do immediate action for this kind of matter. thank you very much and hope to hear from you soon!
My transmission has been worked on 3 times now. it's been a burnt clutch twice and the third was a recall they fixed on the transmission. and now for a 4th time, i need to take my car in to be worked on because of the transmission. my car won't go in reverse. sometimes it will begin to go forward instead of backwards. when i put my car in reverse from park, i can hear the gears grind. the car shudders and jerks like it usually does. but instead of the transmission failure light coming like it did the first three times, now the engine light turns on but i know this is the transmission because it's happened 3 times before. each time my car has broke down because of the transmission, i was on populated roads and i could have easily been in a car accident.
When i put my gear in reverse, sometimes my car jerks and reverse faster than it should or other times the car would idle, i would see the rpm going up and hear the rpm but the car doesnt move. i'd have to hit brake and try to reverse again. when i come to a stop and try to drive, the vehicle either jerks or just takes off. the problem almost happens every time. or when i am slowing down, the car would jerk or shudder. whenever i take the vehicle to the dealership, they just tell me the shudder/jerks are in their normal range reading and basically tells me that is normal for the vehicle to do. all the shuddering, jerking, and being hesitant happens mostly starting from a stationary position, like at a red light or a stop sign. this has been happening every since i bought the car in 2016 august, as a used car. i've had to get a new clutch, and replace the new one because it wasn't working properly.
My right passenger door will not close. there was a past recall for another door not closing. i had that repaired but now it has happened again.
I had 2 recalls on locks and fuel pump and now today @7:00am i have transmission melfunction. i will never buy a ford again
After driving about 15 minutes warning light comes on that transmission malfunction, pull over immediately. ford says it's the computer but will not fix this. this was on a city street going 50 mph. my daughter drives this vehicle if she had been on the interstate this could have resulted in a serious accident. 2012 ford focus, 117,000 miles.
The door latch on the passenger side just quick working. the door just flys open. thank god my fiance was only in the parking lot when this happened. the door will shut but will not latch. after doing some research, there is a recall for this part, but when my vin is entered, my car does not have the recall...same year make and model. it has to be the same door latch? please help with this, this was very dangerous and can't happen to anymore people!

My recently purchased 2012 ford focus with'19,000 miles' just cost me 1,437.14 to replace the clutch!!! this is due to a ford manufacturing mistake this should never happen on an automatic drive vehicle with less than 20,000 miles on the vehicle!!!???? i will never by another ford vehicle again. i will tell everyone in earshot if me a that evens mentions considering buying a ford to not under any circumstances but that brand. ford has the worst customer service ratings ever! i highly recommend doing there research before even waiting there time to go to a ford dealership!! biggest rip off car company by far!! thus problem never should have happened and ford should of stepped up and done the rite thing by its customers!! never again!! i will be telling everyone what a rip off you people are!! how do you sleep at night knowing that people's lives are in danger driving this vehicle!!

Unsure what is wrong. however, i have had my car in 2 twice for a shudder, jerking, and hard shifting. the dealership fixed the hard shifting for a cost, but the shuddering with never got fixed has been happening even before they reset or replaced the transmission control module. it shudders going up step hills, and at times when accelerating. this happens frequently, and we were told this is a common problem, and we shouldn't be alarmed. however after driving every day for a living, this doesn't feel or sound correct, its definitely not safe.
Transmission is slipping and not moving when in gear. check engine light is also on.

Had 2 issues with dual-clutch transmission since buying the vehicle. clutch was replaced on may 13th, 2019 for my 2012 ford focus. i was stuck on the highway twice for this occurrence with the vehicle jerking while in motion then the "check engine" light coming on and the car stalling out. the vehicle then came to a stop and could not be restarted. the cost of the repair was 2667.46 dollars to replace the clutch. the previous time was due to a problem with the transmission control module but was fixed with no issues.
Takata recall my 2012 ford focus is having transmission issues. i can not drive over 60 in my vehicle and i am not the only one with this issue. i have read reports and called ford and no one will take a look into this. it has caused me to have to pull over on the side of the highway and the car will smoke and over heat. i am not able to cut the car on for 10 mins and all of my dashboard lights appear. it has been this way for the past 4 months. i have had to get a new form of transportation because of it. can someone please look into this.
My car horn would periodically go out then one day it completely stopped working, i discovered this when i tried to warn a truck that i was in a lane the truck decided to merge into. i first took it to ford to have it repaired however they never completed this repair for me. i then got my horn replaced at a firestone where my service adviser informed me there were no signs of electrical issues and they really couldn't figure out what was wrong besides the horn system. they stated "have power all the way to the horn when pushing button on wheel." so they had to remove and replace horn assembly. i mentioned this to a ford service adviser, and their response was "oh yeah sometimes that happens with the ford horns a spring breaks." like it was common and common knowledge. this concerns me because in ny you are required to have a working horn for any inspection due to safety. horns are essential to help prevent accidents and prevent people from merging, backing into your vehicle etc. the fact that ford service knows the problem as common knowledge scares and infuriates me. i was lucky and did not get in an accident, although i had a close call where if their wasn't a shoulder to ride on a truck would of merged into my vehicle since my horn had suddenly stopped working.
The transmission is under class action lawsuit. having trouble with since buying in 2012, still waiting on outcome of that. today. march 27, 2019, "steering wheel assist- service needed". steering out wheel will not turn. i work i need a car. i will be calling ford today. my ford focus se is no longer under warranty, over 140,000 miles on it. i was not able to leave home for work today. sometimes when i turn the car off the time changes i then turn it back on and it goes back to the correct time. also in the past sometimes in would not start. i would wait a while and then it would start. it has not done that since i bought the car in 2012. this car has a lot of problems.
The vehicle has had repeated issues over the past 7 years of ownership. the vehicle has shuddered upon acceleration for many years. a transmission recall supposedly fixed the problem, however, the vehicle has continued to shudder and also struggled going uphill. i took the vehicle into the local ford dealership, as it was becoming difficult to drive safely. the vehicle would not accelerate when going up even a moderate incline and would begin to shudder and "rev up". i was traveling on the highway up an incline when the vehicle struggled to accelerate, began shuddering, and the engine became loud. i had to move over into the far right lane and slowly make my way up the incline traveling well below the posted speed limit. the ford dealership determined that it was the clutch that needed replaced. when i questioned if this was related to all of the other shuddering problems and transmission problems i have had over the years, i was told that this was not associated with that and told that i would be responsible for paying the full amount of the repairs. a secondary auto shop suggested that i reach out to the ford dealership, as they believed that the need for the clutch replacement and problems could easily be related to previous transmission issues. the ford corporation was contacted and refused to do anything about the situation, other than documenting the incident in my file.
Had just turned onto our rural street, doing approximately 10 mph, when i heard a loud pop/explosion. the left front tire had blown out. removing the tire, 1/3-1/2 of the sidewall next to the rim had blown out in a line around the tire. there is a recall on the dextero tires, on just this type of blow out, but not on this specific size, which is a 195-65r15. researching i have found others to have the same problem. these should be on a recall as well. i can only imagine the turnout of this had it happened driving 75 mph, as we do everyday on the highway. these tires are on a 2012 ford focus. because of what happened and then seeing the recall with the exact same problem with many of the dextero tires, i feel it is in our best interest to replace all 4 tires. this should be at their expense! we do have pictures, and can send them to you if needed.
Trunk opens while driving - highway and city streets. has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks.
After i put fuel in the fuel tank and try to start the car hesitates like it wants to quit. i just got it away from the dealership where they replaced fuel pump, fuel tank, and did a software update to the pcm. and also replaced the purge valve. after fueling the car is the only time the hesitation is noticed after that it starts fine until the next fuel is put in. the 2nd thing that is happening is there is water in the trunk under the spare tire. it has been raining for 2 days now and the water is even with the spare. what i was told by the dealership was that ford has basically washed their hands of me and my car since i settled with them about the class action. i am having an independent repair shop to try and find what is causing the problems. but i do think ford should be held responsible for making such a lemon. i still owe over $8,000 on this vehicle now i am having to do repairs on it also.
There was recall i'm my transmission which my local ford dealer have claimed to fixed but i have still been having problems with it and they seem unable to fix after me taking it back twice.now i'm the problem is here again and my car won't back up and my transmission light keep coming on and it drives like a stick shift.i hope that it can be fixed without cost cause this is my only means of transportation.im still making monthly payments
When going about 55 mph my car starts to get very loud, nothing seems to be wrong it's as if there's a leaf blower inside the vehicle. as i slow down, use the brakes, the sound slowly gets more quiet.
I was driving home and the door unlatched on it's own and became cracked open in the middle of rush hour. i had to stop and hurry up and get out to open and close the door again. my daughter was sitting in her car seat on that side. please fix this problem. this problem happened to me about 2 times yesterday.

The gear gets stuck in reverse and i can't put the car in park. even though the gear reads park it will still be in a different gear.
I almost got into a car accident due to the deafening noises coming out from the speakers while i was driving. it sounded like firecracker going off next to my ears. i was startled and trying to get off the freeway to fix the problem. due to the distraction from the noises, neither did i flick the turning signal nor did i hear the honking from the vehicles behind me. dealer unable to fix the problem, and asking for $783 to replace the radio. there are lot similar complaints like this, they need to make a recall on all digital signal processor module.
Open hood warning light comes on,at random times, while being driven. the hood is closed securely. alarm system goes off, several times at night while the vehicle is parked and engine is off. low battery warning light comes on when the car engine is on. battery has been checked, is good!
The horn quit working at 90xxx miles. i checked the relay, and the relay was not the issue. i luckily purchased an extended warranty that paid for the horn. but i think there should be a recalled issued about this because a lot of people with the same make and model are having this issues, from what i have found online.
When placing pressure on the brakes to slow down or stop you hear/feel a crunching sound. it never did that before now it does it every time you use the brakes. i have taken it to 3 different garages to be checked and got back that my brakes was fine. one garage said it could be the abs system making the noise. no power to climb a hill or if you get up the hill the engine/motor does not shift like it suppose to. this all took place in august of 2018.
Engine temperature sensor malfunctions and says engine is overheating when it is in fact not as well as when it is.
