In dec. 12-23 a deer landed in front of us as we were driving on a on highway and going about 50 mph. deer damaged hood radiator etc. biggest concern . both airbags deployed. the powder. right after the initial impact i said open the door open the window cuz the dust was flying around the car and i believe i inhaled some in my throat up my nose that was really bad . the dust smells bad irritating eyes throat. as a couple days went by. throat very sore coughing off and on. ? the chemicals ? toxin,, can they cause problems later. inside both nazal passages very crusty and dried blood. small skin burn on mid nose. also headaches , feel dazed, hair and face had a weird smell , also severe ringing in ears. i am extremely concerned if this vehicle has had issues with toxic chemicals and what help can i get to resolve this and i am concerned. the police came rescue came we a grateful we were able to walk away but sometimes problems occur a few days later. i am extremely concerned about the respiratory impact and irritation if the chemicals can cause problems later. on 12-25-19. i just dont feel right. headaches also respiratory and throat concerns.

While having tires mounted and checking the reason for illumination of the instrument panel airbag light the dealership discovered that my front passenger air bag was defective. i called ford and was advised that my vin number was not part of the recall and that they would contact me in 30 days

I was turning left on a yellow light in a busy intersection during rush hour. the car opposite of mine was not paying attention and hit the bumper of my car. my air bag did not go off and my seat belt doesn't pull out the way it should now.

Air bag light stay on, check engine light on, said secondary emission but you check everything no problem, reset code and all back on in 3 days

I have just acquired this vehicle in oct or sep of 2018. it has been a pretty good car up until now. the airbag light comes on and off intermittently and now the engine light is on. my mechanic checked why the engine light was on with his computer and has said it's a fuel issue. i take it back to him on thursday to go over the fuel system and engine to better diagnose the issue. in the meantime, i've been looking up various complaints and issues with my 2007 ford focus and not stating the specific issues and the two main complaints and recalls that keep coming upstate that there have been numerous airbags and fuel system issues. these are both the issues i'm having. the airbags light keeps coming on and off without the system being reset. the engine light is on and hasn't gone off. it came on when my husband filled the tank up about 3-4 weeks ago. the only reason we've not had my mechanic look at is due to income. i'm disabled, my husband is in the process of retiring in september and he was injured on the job and has been out for about 5 months. i wouldn't have even looked on the internet to see if there were recalls but we're making a trip to durham in july and need a reliable vehicle and are concerned about the engine catching fire or not getting the fuel needed. please let me know if this has been any safety issues with this make and model of car. thank you.

While driving 70 on the turnpike the driver side side airbag deployed out of the seat without any type of impact or accident causing it to do so. the deployment caused numerous injuries. there are no signs of any damage to the vehicle that would have caused the airbag to deploy. responding officers/deputies did not file a police report because there was no accident. the ford collision center cannot find the reason for deployment and the sensor box is being shipped to ford for investigation. the car remains i repaired.

The airbag light in the dashboard stays on all of the time. the driver and passenger seat belt comes unbuckled sometimes for no apparent reason, and has been doing this since i acquired the car in 2012.

The air bag light stays on almost all the time and the passager seat belt will come unlashed at times, this has happened more then once with in this last year 2016.

Side airbag, contained inside my seat on my left side as i drove, inflated suddenly and violently and unprompted by any collision event. the vehicle was in motion at the time, travelling 50 mph in a straight line in the center lane on an otherwise empty road.

The airbag light on the driver side came on and won't go out. ford focus 2007 power steering motor is going out. i had my car serviced in 2016 and found out about the power steering was going out . thanks

Ford has put out a recall on the airbag sensor and it's not working so my light for my airbag stays on indicating the airbag is disabled and i can't afford to get it fixed and i've read online that a lot of people have been complaining about the problem with the airbag sensor not working properly for the 2007 ford focus you need to do an investigation on this problem asap when i start my car up the light for the airbag pops on and stays on the whole time i'm driving it is totally disabled and that's not good at all there needs to be a recall on this asap i have gone to a lot of websites and seen many people complaining about this problem

I took an exit off the highway and came to a stop sign. when i turned left at about 15 to 20 mph, i straightened out my vehicle, and at between 25-30 mph, my driver's side airbag deployed out of my driver's seat without any reason.i did not crash into anything nor did anything crash into me. the weather was sunny, with no precipitation, and the roads were clear with no ice or snow. after the airbag deployed, the airbag light came on. the mileage was 109,812. when i took my vehicle to the dealership, they could find no reason why the airbag deployed. they wanted me to replace modules and sensors, totaling $2,800. because there was no collision, my insurance refused to help. ford customer service told me that they will not do anything because it is past the date of warranty. this is a serious safety issue that needs to be investigated.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford focus. while driving over 50 mph, the vehicle became unstable and was difficult to drive in a straight line. in addition, the air bag sensor and overdrive sensor lights suddenly illuminated while operating the vehicle. the cause of the failures were not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failures. the failure mileage was 155,000. updated 02/18/16*lj

My air bag lights comes on and off. car hasnt been wrecked but when light comes on it will stay on for half and day. these two lights passenger and driver will come on while car is in motion going down highway.

The airbag warning light for the driver's side airbag on the dashboard goes on and off and has been doing this for the past couple of years. (i am not sure exactly when it began, since when the light went off, i thought the problem was over) i have had a car repair shop try to fix it several times, but the problem has continued. the warning light comes on and stays on (in every season of the year) when the weather is humid or damp and goes off when the air is drier. the mechanics say the airbag will not deploy when the airbag light is on and that i have to replace the airbag at a cost of around $400. i do not believe it is a takata airbag, but am not sure. still, it is defective and i think these airbags should be inspected in other ford focus models in which they are installed. also the automatic door lock (locking from the driver's side front door) stopped working for the front passenger's side door more than a year ago. i now have to lock and unlock it manually from the inside, requiring the passenger to wait outside the car while i (driver) get into the car and unlock the passenger side door. this poses a safety issue for the front seat passenger.

We were driving north at 50 mph, man going east rolled through stop sign. he t-boned us square in both driver side doors, rolling us over twice, landing back on the driver side of the car. out of 7 airbags only one deployed. the air bag that deployed was on the passenger seat on the opposite side of where the impact occurred. i have the car, it has been untouched other than tow truck company and is locked in my parents garage, as we don't know what to do with it or next. we have tons of pictures. pictures of the car, the scene, we have it all. thank you rw

For some reason, my airbag light continues to stay on for a few days and then may go off for a day before coming back on. no one has been able to figure out whey this is happening. i want to make sure this is not an airbag sensor issue or something related to the recall issues with takata. thanks you and please get back to me as soon as you can.

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford focus. while driving at approximately 60 mph, the air bags inadvertently deployed without warning. the contact stated that there was black smoke and fuel fumes emitting into the vehicle. as a result, the contact was unable to breath properly and his ears were ringing. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

I was driving south in the lane 2. the other driver was driving north in the first lane. the other driver was attempting a left turn she could not see past traffic in the south first lane so she continued to turn. i then t-boned the other drive. she was cited at fault for failing to yield the right of way. my air bags attempted to deploy but they did not

Air bag indicator light on dashboard was intermittent at first depending on temperature and humidity, but for past two years it has been on constantly. have checked wiring harness underneath front passenger seat since i was told it was a loose connection causing the light to come on. this seemed to fix the issue at times, but no longer does.

Tl* the contact owned a 2007 ford focus. while driving at 35 mph, the contact crashed and rear ended another vehicle due to rainy conditions. the air bag did not deploy and the vehicle was destroyed. the passenger sustained a head injury and medical attention was required. a police report was filed. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was not provided. the failure mileage was 78,000.

Spring broke on air bag for no reason. light did come on and off in the dash board. i' m writing this to inform the board that this seems to be an additional problem with these airbags. furthermore i feel it should not be the responsibility of the consumer to pay for the repair for the amount of four hundred a d fifty dollars.. *tr

Was driving down the road at the posted speed limit of 35 mph. hit a patch of ice on the untreated icy roads in glocester ri . caused me to increase speed while spinning in circles . ended up hitting a tree with the front quarter panel on the passenger side destroyed everything on that side under the hood and the chasie in the front!! next i spun again hitting the front bumper on the right side! air bags never deployed and they should have at the speed and velocity the car hit the tree at! *tr

Tl* the contact owned a 2007 ford focus. while driving at approximately 30 mph, the contact's vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. the driver was injured, but did not seek medical attention. a police report was filed and the vehicle was destroyed. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 17,000. the vin was unavailable. updated 4/15/15*cn updated 9/22/2017*cn

I was going about 10 mph through a city street intersection when i ran over an uncovered water valve pipe in a depression similar to, but smaller than, a standard manhole well. each left tire ran over the uncovered water valve. there was a loud pop, and i blacked out. the left rear tire had blown out after the left front tire sustained damage that resulted in a flat tire shortly thereafter. also, the air bag in the left side of the back of the driver's seat deployed and hit me in the head, causing me to black out, and producing amnesia and other mental symptoms that lingered for several years. in addition, i suffered neck and back injuries from whiplash. the air bag should not have been triggered by an under-wheel impact at such a low speed.

Is my air bag for my car on the recall list?

In the news reports show of how at high temperatures these airbags implode for no reason. at 90f traveling 30 mph up the hill the side airbags exploded without the vehicle hitting anything. car was taken to the local ford dealer. the local dealer had called ford corp. ford motor co didn't want to take responsibility for the repairs as this should be at least covered under lemon regulation or at most $100 deductible from my ford esp extended plan. they made a lot of excuses&neglected to fix it. they remained indifferent. i tried to call ford's customer service manager for the west territory. the person would not fix the concern nor give authorization to the local ford dealer. i left several voice mails at [xxx] with no responses. there has been a lot of complaints. here's one example http://www.wptv.com/money/consumer/bmw-chrysler-ford-honda-mazda-nissan-and-toyota-airbag-recall-expands-to-seven-car-companies. other examples were articles of how car companies don't want to recall these airbag issues because it has costly repairs. the 2008 ford focus had airbag problems. i would like for this to be looked at. it seems like ford has given the local dealer a hard time&doesn't want to take responsibility with what they had sold. for privacy reasons as this may become published i'm withholding personally identifiable information. if you would like to contact me directly nhtsa we can review this...updated 09-15-14 *bf information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Air bag warning light intermittently appears and fails to extinguish at startup. vehicle purchased from bell ford in phoenix az. had battery & alternator fail on freeway in phoenix prior to 2012 yet after 2010. same vehicle required new battery and alternator at pep boys pasadena texas approx. 2011-2012 and multiple battery changes in 2014. latest news is that negative battery cable shows corrosion near terminal. see also date complaint filed: 05/27/2014 component(s): electrical system , exterior lighting , vehicle speed control date of incident: 08/24/2013 nhtsa id number: 10594425 ref. heavier gauge cable on 2008 than 2007, p/n 14300a,14300b (mfr.) *tr

My car was hit head on, the passenger side seat felled to hold and all the slack came loose causing the passenger to hit the dash. the air bags felled to deploy. the passenger could have been really hurt or worse, could have went through the wind shield. contacted ford motor and would get a written response in six weeks. received a phone call a few days later telling me to work with my insurance company to get it repaired. i asked to be compensated for driving this car for seven years with an defected seat belt with i purchased new. ford showed no interest in this issue. *tr

My airbag on the driver side went out the light is on and won't go out, also the power steering is going out the vehicle have under 90 thousand miles on it i have afraid to drive for those reasons it was purchased in 2006 new with 2 tens of a mile on it. i sent an email a year or so ago and never heard from you all. can't afford to have it repaired airbag over $400 dollars and so is the power steering.thanks in advance.

My car was in a single vehicle accident as we hit a power pole head on going at least 50 mph. i wasn't the driver. at impact both the driver and myself had our heads crash into the dashboard. the driver smashed his head into the steering wheel and i hit the area above the glove box. my head also hit the passenger door. the car caught on fire and burned completely to the ground. my concerns are that with an accident of that magnitude, not a single airbag deployed in the car. all 4 passengers received multiple severe injuries. i'm aware that in some situations air bags can make things worse, but in this case i'm sure that the airbags should have deployed and would have been better than us violently slamming our heads and faces onto the dashboard and steering wheel. i'm also interested in seeing why the seat belts didn't constrict us from moving that far forward. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford focus. the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle while traveling approximately 50 mph. the air bags failed to deploy. the contact sustained neck, head, and spinal injuries. a police report was not filed of the incident. the vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. the failure mileage and vin was not available. *tr

Passenger side airbag warning light comes on and off , but mostly stays on for a prolonged period of time. and for no obvious reason, it has been doing this for quite a long time. being in motion or sitting still doesn't seem to change the pattern nor do rough roads vs smooth roads. is this takata related ?

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 ford focus. the contact stated that while traveling approximately 45 mph, the driver's seat air bag erroneously deployed. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was contacted about the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 30,000. updated 02/27/14*lj

Monitor failed and clock spring in steering column lost connectivity causing air bag system to no longer operate. repairs to make system operable again resulted in charges of over $900. no accident was involved to cause the failure. parts related to safety that should have lasted as long as the car was operable failed resulting in expensive repair costs. *tr

Traveling at 45 mph, vehicle pulls out in front of mine and my car impacted the front end of their vehicle. front end of my vehicle was totally damaged and airbags did not deploy but air bag light came on. took to dealership and had fixed. six months later the air bag light has came on and stays on. my moms ford focus has not been wrecked or involved in any crash and her air bag light is on and wont got off.

Vehicle was involved in a car accident. i was sitting at a red light when i was struck from the rear by another vehicle who failed to stop in time. the vehicle that impacted hit my car was going a speed of 50mph. my airbag did not deploy. my 2007 ford was pushed a few feet. 3 wks of repair work was required to the rear of my vehicle. i underwent four months of physical therapy for neck and back problems that i still deal with today. i don't understand why my airbag didn't deploy. because the vehicle that hit me realized the light was red and i stopped, he was able to turn his vehicle a bit to use the impact otherwise this would have been much worse. *tr

The air bag light indicating that the passenger air bag even when there's a passenger on board will indicate the airbag is off. it has been doing this everysince i got the car 4 years ago. now i have a child and people who ride in the passenger seat and safety has become a huge concern there are many reports online of this issue including on here. my family and i cannot afford to replace this or fix this our selves to my knowledge the only aftermarket parts on my car our the tires and all of the mounts. for the original manufactured mounts failed and broke.

The air bag light stays on all the time. moving the steering wheel in and out makes it turn off, so i suspect the steering wheel airbag has a bad connection. searching online, it sounds like the clock spring goes bad. *tr

I wrecked my car and in the accident no airbags were deployed. later after the local mechanic fixed the damage he returned the car to me and within 24 hours the computer reset itself and the airbag light came on indicating a problem. the light has never turned off except when the car is shut off and the airbags never have come out.

Front left tire blew causing to loose control of the car it went off road and slammed into a ditch. front bumper and quarter panel damage, front axle broke, rims dented, suspension needs to be replaced to name a few. almost 5000.00 in damage. person jerked forward enough to have cuts in the chest/shoulder by the seat belt yet the airbag did not deploy. *tr

Ran into a guard rail front on. air bags never went off
