Problems with 2000 Ford Focus ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Will this leak cause electrical problems, a possible accident? *ak

When driving at any speed and without prior warning vehicle stalls out, causing loss of power. consumer has contacted dealer fourteen times since the purchase date. *ak

Engine making ticking sound, dealer did not look into it, just replaced engine, the day i got the car back, it was making a squealing noise, take car back next day, after removing transmission, and leaving me without a car for another day, they realized they forgot to hook up a hose, now car is making a grinding noise only when clutch is not pushed in, noise stops when you push the clutch in, car going back in a few days. *ak

When gas pedal was depressed, the engine revved up, but the speed was not increased, the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. *jb

Vechicle will begin stalling at any given time with no prior warning. vehicle will shutdown with all dashboard lights coming on. vehicle has automatic transmission. it has been taken to dealership on six different occasions for same problem. *ak

Twice since we purchased this car, it has stalled. once at start-up, and once entering a busy 4-lane road. both incidents occurred after the car had sat turned off for 30 minutes following being driven at high speeds (45-65 mph) for at least 1 hour. both times the car ran rough following the stall. the car has been in the shop twice, but the mechanics can't find a problem. talking on the phone, one representative told me that ford has been having trouble with gasoline additives causing the focus to stall, but when i mentioned it at the dealership, everyone denied knowledge of this statement. while i was at the shop, another focus owner reported the same problems. this car was bought so that we had a safe and reliable vehicle, it has been neither. *ak

I bought the car in june of 2000 since this time the car has had a number of recalls on the car. i feel that the people that bought the 2000 model of this car should not be liable to pay the amount the contact was signed. due to the fact that at the time the car was bought, the people that bought the car didn't know that most of the car's life would be in the shop being fixed. also ford knew that the focus was prone to this happening.

Vehicle keeps on stalling while in motion. vehicle was repaired at the dealer once. just got it back from the dealer, and has stalled 3 times on the same day. consumer is contacting the lemon law.

Engine light will illuminate. then, vehicle overheats and shutsdown. please provide any further informaiton.*ak

Consumer has had 6 recalls on this vehicle, he is very concerned for his safety. *ak

Vehicle stalls and then starts to vibrate while driving. *ak

The rear passenger side tire blew out while driving causing damage to the vehicle (firestone tire). nlm

When ouside temperture is higher than 60 degree, the car would stall if restarted while the engine is still hot. dearler told me it's because the pcm is interacting with the winter fuel addictive and causing the car to stall, and they can't do anything about it. now i am afraid to drive when the whether is warm. there were few times, the car stalled right in the middle of the road and become very dangeous. i hope nhtsa can look into this. thank you very much. *ak

Engine stalling - may be same as nhtsa action # pe02040 (vehicle has base 2.0 liter engine and 5-manual), vehicle stalled at highway speed when clutch was in, restarted when clutch released.*ak

1st recall,6/2000 shop for a/c problem,9/2000 shop for 7 days for ac problem,1/2002 shop 7days for engine work,recalls x 4 or 5 not sure about dates there has been so many on this car,problems with not starting ,gas gauge, tire replacement 3 sets in less then 3 years, hesitation,poor gas milage,brakes squealing, trunk does not close properly,10/2003 has been in shop for 3 weeks for possible engine work. dealer can not seem to find or repair the problem, i am not happy with this car it has had serious problems from day one there are more to mention can not list them all i need help. *ak
