Problems with 2013 Ford Fiesta ENGINE

On average, the 2013 Ford Fiesta starts to “feel” problems with the ENGINE and its various aspects after 24 984 miles.

Im not sure if i have selected correct options. but all i know is when i slow my car and they try to accelerate the car does not speed up immediately it take few minutes. hence i have to accelerate more to make the car running. this has always been an issue. quite difficult while switching lanes on highways or taking turns. specially driving in winter is scary. i find the car very unpredictable. i took it to the servicing centre in toronto ca at dufferin for the recall that was issued and the issue is still not resolved. after informing them they just disregarded saying this is an issue with all ford. thinking im a women and dont understand much of cars i forgot about it. even when it rains while applying a brake it startles and doesn't stop immediately. this issue was also discussed with the ford centre at dufferin st in toronto. i sometimes fear to drive my car as i have my child and pets along with me. this is ongoing thing daily so cant specify which date exactly as whenever we drive we have this issue.

Received a costumer service letter (15b22/19n07) stating issue with transmission tcm and to bring car into dealer for evaluation/fix. once car was brought into dealership was told we needed to pay $200 for a diagnostic test of the car to see if it is eligible for the recall. we have had several issues with the transmission in this vehicle such as skipping gears, loss of power and the car even stalling out. if this is a recall issue due to defective transmission i feel i as a consumer should not have to pay a dime to fix their problem. i am aware of a large news story that involved this particular vehicle transmission issues resulting in several deaths due to accident caused by this problem.

While driving on a city street or otherwise, my car's engine malfunction light will come on. the car will suddenly jerk and slow down. no matter how hard i press on the gas pedal, it will not go over 30mph. i have almost been slammed into several times due to the sudden loss of speed. i've taken it in twice and had the gas pedal replaced as the computer picks up a problem between the chip and the computer. and both times the new part has failed. i've looked into this and it seems to be a reoccurring problem across the board, and a dangerous one considering ford is aware of the problem

The car has difficulty shifting gears and has trouble accelerating properly

Purge valve caused fuel tank to be sucked in 3/4 of an inch. while driving i have surging and when stopped the idle is erratic and bounces between 1000 to 2000 rpm. causes code p0300 to come and go and also p0497 to come and go. extremely hard for dealerships to find the problem. i have video and picture proof of issue.

While driving "engine malfunction service now" light comes on, then stops accelerating in motion. turned vehicle off/on light goes out, continue driving and it happens again. did all my checks and balances, seems like a manufacturures issue. high safety issue when traveling. had transmission shutter seal replaced twice in 2 yrs by ford dealership free of charge.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fiesta. while driving approximately 40 mph approaching a traffic light, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and "service transmission" displayed on the instrument panel. the vehicle started to decelerate and the contact pulled into a parking lot. the vehicle was restarted and the same indicator and message remained illuminated; however, the vehicle failed to engage in reverse. the vehicle was driven to joe myers ford (16634 north west freeway, houston, texas 77040) where it was diagnosed that the transmission control module and clutch actuator motor failed, and oil was leaking from the valve gasket area. the contact also stated that the vehicle was previously repaired for transmission failure in july of 2017. the vehicle was repaired for the recent failure. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 96,000.

Hello there! it's been a really long story, but my car has had a history of transmission problems that have been replaced twice now on ford's dollar. it's been having the same issues now and it's even worse. it's non drivable. there are two open recalls for it, 14m01 and 14m02. i took it to the ford dealership and we've gone back and forth with manufacturing, but it's so broken they can't pull those codes. they say that i need to pay for a tear down (at least 1,200) so they can diagnose it to see if they'll reimburse me. i'm obviously not going to pay for that and i'd like ford to pay for it, but they won't. i have an open case with them, but reached the end of the line. can you help?

It started smoking all of a sudden from the engine area. i think the manufacturer is not revealing the real problems in the recall notice

Tl* the contact owned a 2013 ford fiesta. while driving approximately 60 mph, the contact noticed smoke from the rear of the vehicle. the contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. as she was stopping the vehicle, another motorist alerted the contact of flames underneath the front end of her vehicle. the contact and her passengers were able to exit safely. the vehicle became engulfed in flames. the fire department was called and extinguished the fire. the contact was unaware if fire or police report were filed. the vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss. the vehicle was not inspected by an independent mechanic, dealer, or the insurance company to determine the cause of the fire. the contact also stated that an unknown warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. the manufacturer was notified, but offered no assistance. the contact was informed to direct all questions to her insurance company. the failure mileage was 62,053. ...updated 10/19/17 *bf *js

The clutch has been replaced three times and car continues to hesitate ,bucks, lurches forward, and engine makes buzzing sound feels like it's dragging when driving. most recently at a stop sign the car accelerated and lurched forward i had two feet on the brake it was difficult to control.

While driving on the expressway my car began smoking and began to overheat which caused a cracked cylinder head that sprayed oil all over the inside of my hood sparking a small fire under the hood. the computer began to shut the car down and displayed a warning message that stated sudden loss of oil pressure, please prepare to pull over safely. just as i read that message the brakes started to lock and the steering became harder to turn as i tried to get off the next exit from the expressway. i reinjured my broken ankle in trying to keep stop and control the car. once pulled over the car continued to smoke and no longer started. i filed a claim with my insurance and it was denied as they found the cause was due to recall mechanical or electrical breakdown still under powertrain warranty. i went online and found on the ford motor company mediacenter website this recall notice date 3/29/17. my vin # was not on this list but to the letter is what i experienced: ford issues safety recall for certain 2013-15 ford escape, ford fiesta st, ford fusion and ford transit connect 1.6-liter gtdi vehicles for under-hood fire risk ford is issuing a safety recall in north america for approximately 230,000 2014 ford escape, 2014-15 ford fiesta st, 2013-14 ford fusion and 2013-15 ford transit connect vehicles equipped with 1.6-liter gtdi engines. ford's investigation of these vehicles has identified a risk of under-hood fires. in the affected vehicles, a lack of coolant circulation could cause an engine to overheat, resulting in a crack in the cylinder head. a cracked cylinder head can result in a pressurized oil leak. oil that comes into contact with a hot engine surface increases the risk of a fire in the engine compartment. ford is aware of 29 reports of fire associated with this issue in the united states and canada. no injuries have been reported.

Bought this car new on 12/22/2013 and have been having transmission problems from day 3 of owning it. this car is not safe to drive. it grinds, clicks and makes horribly loud noises. it stalls in the middle of turns and i've almost been ran over many times. it jerks and accelerates on its own without me evening telling it to. now at approximately 54,000 miles it will no longer even start and the light says "transmission malfunction service now." the wrench light and engine light also come on and off, periodically. ford motor company is well aware that they put bad transmissions in all of these new cars and we have been robbed. is it going to take someone's death before someone does the right thing in this situation?

Vehicle is dangerous. i have experienced loss of power with no response to the gas pedal. car jerks violently while driving making it very difficult to steer and maintain. i have not driven car in months because it is a safety hazard. i have taken car to dealer 4 times and each time they are fixing the transmission, but it does the same thing right after getting the car back. avoid this vehicle do not buy.

When i take off from a stop the engine chugs, jerks, chatters, and grinds.

Transmission constantly slips. transmission surges and stalls daily. the transmission actually completely went out 2 days after purchase and was replaced - the transmission never worked properly. this car was in for service on 4 occasions and left service with the same or worse symptoms. earnhardt ford in chandler, az stated it was fixed each time and pretended they did not feel the slips, surges and stalls when test drove with me after service each time. i was told there was nothing more they were going to do. **i do not have service dates with me at this time - the date in "when did this happen" is a guesstimate of the time around servicing.

This car has been a nightmare . i complained about transmission and catalytic converter. i now notice that the fuel is not getting the an mount. i m averaging 20 to 25 miles even though it says 33. i see it jumps. i called they said plugs don't have to change until 40000 miles. the milage is moving even though i am driving in a 10 mile radius.

Car works fine and then sputters and comes almost to a stop. states that i need a new throttle body. the car has been doing this since purchase and the dealership claims they never can find a problem. now it has been determined that it is the throttle body.

Continued transmission problems; jerks, clutch studders; scared to cross intersections because car will stop or jerk; transmission malfunction; seat belts not locking properly; taken car to the dealership more than 4 times due to the same problem (transmission malfunction)

While driving on the highway the power train/engine malfunction warning light (wrench shaped) warning light came on and remained on until i parked and turned off the car. at the end of the work day i started the car and the warning light was not on. i took the car to a ford service center and was told wires had melted together and needed to be replaced. the reason i was given by the service center is:" test drive - check engine light on, no symptoms detected. ids test pcm koeo-pass. cont - p2138 (app sensor correlation error), koer-pass, per tsb 13-11-15, bypass circuits le136, le137, and re137 at connector c210, pins 1, 8, and 9 respectively, switch app sensor connector pins 1 and 2."

My 2013 ford fiesta shudders and or bucks upon acceleration. moving forward through intersections is incredibly dangerous due to the uncertainty of the transmission. my 2013 fiesta has had the transmission worked on by way of a ford dealership and parts replaced. i worry every time i drive my car that it may be the one time i don't make it through an intersection. i would not ever purchase another ford vehicle again. the last time i had problems with shuddering the dealership had tested my car and the shuddering was within guidelines of passing under the ford tests. this is unacceptable! i cannot believe that i have to continue to pay for a car that could essentially be a death trap and considered unsafe.

On-going issue w/ chugging, gringin and jerking-front derivers side of car. started in 2014- told dealership steven ford(patchogue,ny) they stated no issue. noise got repeadetly worse over time. had missouri dealership look at when i foundout there was recall on the transmission- stated reset computer all repaired. came back to ny with extended issue took to tower ford (great neck, ny) kept for a week stating they had to diagnosis w/ 260 fee. was then told it was a part in the transmission - not covered under warranty and will cost $ 5,000.00 to fix. was told i could drive off lot-took to outside garage in glen oaks, ny where they informed me i had a hole in my transmission that by looking at could have been noted w/ no diagnostic needed. tower charged me for the 260 diagnostic and sent me on my way. ford corporate had been notified of all issues and refuses to help. i am 8 months pregnant- drove this car across the country and no one connected to ford wants to help- it is a 2013! tower ford told glenoaks garage that we did this to the transmission when we drove it 6 miles from one location to the other. this car has been a danger to drive and no one advised me of this extensive transmission issue!

The car jerks, grinds and shakes as the car starts to pick up speed. what happens all the time

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power, shuddered, hesitated, and jerked while driving various speeds. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was towed to sunrise ford of fontana (16005 valley blvd, fontana, ca) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle operated as intended. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

Ford fiesta (automatic transmission) has a transmission shutter with initial takeoff, and when shifting gears.

Vehicle shakes and shudders on acceleration. it has loud noise and decreased speed while on ramps or inclines. the check engine light came on a lot and would overheat while i was on the freeway. there was also a fluid leak under the vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fiesta. while driving 15 mph, the vehicle shook violently without warning and the engine stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the vin was unknown. the failure mileage was approximately 18,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the service engine warning light illuminated intermittently. in addition, the transmission hesitated. the contact also stated that while driving, the door popped open without warning and could not be closed. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the door latches needed to be replaced and the transmission needed to be repaired. in addition, there was a manufacturers recall on the engine warning light. the vehicle was not repaired for the failures due to the parts not being available. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 32,000.

Too many recalls on this car. only have had it for 7 months. they have sent several recall slips saying that different parts need to be replaced and that some things are wrong with the engine and now i found that the car will not cut off even when the key is out of the ignition. my daughter is 4 months pregnant and she has a 7 month old that rides in the car as well and i would hate for this to turn into a law suit for honda and ford. honda sold me the car and ford has been made aware of this problem. i would like someone to pay attention no matter how busy they are. my grand kids are very important to me and so are my kids. thank you, [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The car stotters and i get a shutter noise between 10and30mph. it scares me to death that it is going to stop. i have had 4fords before, never new and very high mileage and never had this problem. for a new car it absolutely causes me much anquish. i have had it checked twice. i only have 8,280 miles on it and bought it brand new may, 2013. i am 75 and expected this car to last at least 10 years. what can you do?

I have less than 15 thousand miles and my catalytic converter needs to be fixed. i took it in and now they have to order the part today. i have had engine leak, a bad transmission, a recall on emission, bad tranny they extended warranty. what next. i barely road the car. they need to be ashamed of themselves for selling . the car still jerks even though they adjusted the tranny. *tr

My check engine cluster came on the one with the wrench, i immediately took it in to the dealership the airport marina. i got there at 7:45 am i was met with agitation when i told him my check engine warning came on i needed to know what it meant. i also included could he fix the recall that came in the mail for the 14e08 he said that they weren't doing the transmission recall for another 6 weeks. i told him i was unaware of transmission recall. both of our attitudes changed his of quiet mine of quiet and shock. he let me leave without fixing any of the recalls gave me an oil change, failed to tell me of why my check engine light came on and never put it in my invoice. i called him back and asked him why he didn't fix, tell me or set me up with and appointment to get my recalls repaired? he tried to tell me other things i needed instead at a cost. i was upset but made a appointment and called customer relations. however after going online i got the real picture! when i first bought the car i returned it after two weeks because of the very thing on the internet, the shuddering, hesitation in moving forward and it didn't seem like the gas was getting to where it needed to go. so the car would jerk and poot and shake along with rattle noise. it also leaked in my drive way. i thought maybe someone parked in my stall after i went for work. not the case. i took it in, they said it was normal, each and every time. they even said we will look at it and said it was a minor thing that they adjusted. i never saw it on paper so i thought they were treating me well and fixing things for free without a paper trial. and they were!! now that the check engine light came on and they reset it and did not do the recalls sent up red flags. that is considered my first denial of service on record, i foolishly let them get away with the others. will take it to another ford dealership. *tr

Took the car in and they gave us a rental. the tech called yesterday to say they are working in it (day 2) then they call this morning to say what it is doing is normal. i told them it is not normal for a car to just lose momentum then when it does go it lurches forward and starts going real fast. there is a problem either with the engine or transmission. someone is going to get killed and i am deadly afraid its going to be one of us. ford just does not want to admit there is a problem. *tr

I am bringing this car in for the fifth time now for different reasons. main problem is shuddering, jolting, and hesitating. i almost got in an accident on february 3rd from the car hesitating when placing foot on gas pedal. i have to replace clutch for second time, and i only have had the car for 6 months. ....updated 04/08/15 *bf *tr

There is a problem with the transmission. after driving 10 miles or so there is a crunch noise when accelerating. do not feel comfortable driving. i have went to the dealership and they stated there isn't a part available for the problem. it has gotten worse over the past 13 months.

While traveling at 55 mph on the highway my ford fiesta started to not shift up or down and seemed a bit stuck. after taking it to the dealer they reprogrammed the powertrain control module. only a couple months later the car started to having trouble with gear shifting at low and high speeds and also seems to slip when trying to shift. car has repeatedly come close to stalling and has lost almost all power at various times. the car dealer now says it needs a new clutch and it will take 16 weeks for it to arrive. until then i am not to drive it long distances. very dangerous car, i am afraid i will be hit trying to turn because the engine will lose power at the wrong time.

I had just bought this car four days prior to the incident. i was accelerating from a stopped position (stop light). it seemed as though my car *skipped* and *jerked* a little in order to gain momentum. then, when i turned a corner, i heard a slight rattling/grinding noise coming from underneath the hood, especially on the left side. i called the dealer's ([xxx] in alexandria, ky) service dept to report the problem and schedule an appointment. i was told that they're so backed up, the first available appointment is on 2/18/15. the lady i spoke to mentioned that my car is part of a recall, and that the clutch assembly needs to be replaced. she said something about the manufacturer being unable to build the parts fast enough. i've now had the car ten days. on the eighth day, the *service engine* light came on and has not turned off. because of this, the dealer has given me an appointment on 12/10/15 to have it checked out. one of the salesmen that i interacted with on the evening of the sale, said it's probably related to the transmission problem. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I've had the car for two years. i've been complaining about the car "shuttering" issue for a year and a half. within the first year i complained about it they said that they were getting similar complaints and handed me a flyer from a stack that they had readily available at their desk which mentions what i'm experiencing is normal and will go away with time. earlier this year i brought the car in with this issue and they had to remove the transmission and replace parts in the gears. the issue seems to be getting worse. yesterday, i was at a traffic light waiting to turn left. i started to accelerate then the car started to majorly shutter. it caused a significant delay in time that it would normally take to make the turn while i was in mid turn at a very busy intersection with approaching traffic. a few weeks ago i made an appointment to bring my car in today. when i explained what happened to me yesterday they said they were aware of this "shuttering" issue and had multiple complaints. i asked them many questions....some of the questions were: when i brought this to your attention in the first year why did you ignore my complaint and hand me a flyer telling me this is normal? when my husband brought the car in for scheduled maintenance a few weeks ago why didn't you inform him that there was a recall notice on the transmission that extends the service warranty and that there could be a safety issue? she explained that ford was to blame and not the dealership. she said that ford was giving them misinformation and told them all along that this was normal of the transmission and so that's what they were telling their customers. i urge you to please look into this because this is a severe safety hazard. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 ford fiesta. when the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate and the engine rpms increased. the contact heard a grinding noise coming from the front of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to the dealer twice, but the failure was unable to be replicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 5,000. updated 01/28/15*lj updated 9/8/2017*cn

Transmission shudders while accelerating, it feels as though car will not move forward without sputtering. initially car drifted backward while stopped on a decline. transmission was supposedly repaired, had more problems after repairs, had to replace two front tires, noise came from front tires and dashboard vibrated. now transmission is sputtering again while accelerating

I have had this vehicle for almost two years and after only 15000 miles my car has made a rattling noise. i noticed as of lately a jerking/stalling feeling as i accelerate. i was contacted by a law office notifying me of transmission issues of ratting/jerking/stalling/ and to file a lawsuit in order to have the transmission repaired for free or to get a completely new vehicle. i have almost stalled out in the middle of an intersection with oncoming traffic in all directions. this is not safe.

i just bought a used 2013 ford fiesta with about 43-44,000 miles on it. i drove the car off the authorized dealer's lot on yesterday 8/31/2014. the first thing that i noticed was, as i entered the highway, the car had trouble getting up to speed with the flow of traffic. later on the same day pulling out of an establishment to enter the main road i pressed the accelerator and the car jerked and acted like it was going to stall out. then it lunged forward into the street! had there been oncoming traffic, this could have caused an accident with me and my family in the car! the car hesitates to shift gears correctly. the rpm hand revs up real high on a light push on the gas pedal and doesn't come down efficiently so the car jerks when if finally "catches". i've had this car for one day! this is a danger and something needs to be done! *tr

Jerking, shuddering, loss of power on acceleration. was almost been rear ended because of this. this is a recurring issue. received recall from ford for transmission. took car in to dealership and was told they found no problem or issue with my car. car continues to be a concern because of the jerking, stuttering and loss of power on acceleration. *js

The car makes a terrible grinding sound. i noticed it stutter at take off and took it to the dealership. the service manager said the clutch had to be replaced, a common issue with the ford fiesta. after the clutch was replaced, the grinding sound remained. even with a new clutch, the car makes me nervous. needless to say, dissatisfied with this service department, i described the grinding sound to a service manager at another dealership. he told me the grinding is normal and that there's nothing that can be done. so i started reading around and literally thousands of fiesta owners are experiencing the same thing. and we are being told the same thing: it's normal, fixing the clutch won't solve the problem, replacing the transmission won't solve the problem. it's as if ford is trying to run out the clock on the 60,000 mile full warranty. at this time, i want to take my fiesta to someone but don't have any recourse since ford dealerships are being told to tell fiesta owners that "it's normal, there's nothing that can be done." *tr

Extreme transmission shudder. jolting, jerking, shuddering, shaking, stalling. had "dual clutch" replaced 3 times thus far. requested a buyback, buyback denied. had a couple more repair attempts and now the can't isn't running fully - sent it certified letter from a lawyer and trying to go through the buy back process again before going to court. had 3 near accidents. this car is a lemon and extremely unsafe. *tr

My daughter took her car in for repair end of july 2014, due to very bad shuttering, shaking, acceleration and brake issue. dealership claims they reset the computer that speaks to the transmission. i had her take car back about 10 days later due to the same issue. they claim there was nothing wrong with vehicle that she needs to drive at least another 1000 miles so that computer can register her driving habits??? i drove her to work the following friday and as i was leaving uphill parking structure the car felt as it completely stalled out, i had the pedal floored and nothing and then out of nowhere the car jumped and accelerated forward. luckily there were no cars in front of me i would of definitely hit them. i drove vehicle straight to dealership and asked salesman to take for a test drive. he stated that there was clearly a problem and he would have gsm call me by the following monday. tuesday comes and as my daughter was driving to work she was involved in an accident due to the car not accelerating so she floored it and unfortunate for her hit the vehicle in front of her. i called salesman back and he said he would call me back, 3 weeks later no phone call from salesman or gsm. accident occured on 8-19-14 then we received a letter postmarked 8-26-14. customer satisfaction program claiming they have extended her warranty on clutch and transmission input shaft salsas well as the transmission software calibration for a total of 7 years or 100,000 miles whichever occurs first. to date still have not received call back from salesman or general service manager. vehicle needs to be recalled...... *tr

A year and a half ago i brought my car, 2013 ford fiesta in for a regular oil change and the shop notified me to bring car to ford dealership immediately for a major oil leak fix, which, i had thought was the reason for my car sputtering and hesitating from a complete stop to acceleration. ford fixed oil leak and report had also claimed the transmission was removed to clean up "contaminated clutch". after, my car seemed to run smoother and acceleration and sputter was alleviated. a month later my car began intensely sputtering and in a couple instances would begin to accelerate then completely stop even though my foot was on the gas pedal. it seemed to stall out one time and i was almost t-boned by a car coming around the corner, even though i would have had plenty of time to turn if the car accelerated properly. months pass and my car was still acting weird, shaking when in a low gear and struggling to accelerate. at 35000 miles i brought the car in(still under warranty) and they fixed the clutch in the transmission. upon leaving the shop the car felt better, but still had a shake to it, especially on hills. i called colonial ford and notified them it needed to be fixed again (this was four days after i picked it up from being fixed) they told me it was fixed to "their standard" and the sputter is "always going to kind of be there". my concern is my safety, i do not feel safe at all driving this vehicle and i do not want to endanger anyone else on the road. it's bothersome that i'm paying for a broken car that i do not feel safe in. *tr

Purchased this vehicle as a certified used directly from ford dealership. since the second day of owning it, on acceleration there is a buzzing noise under the hood (sounds like a go-cart) and feels like it is clogged. will accelerate suddenly or will have trouble accelerating especially when getting onto highway which have put me in a few dangerous situations. when coming to a stop or accelerating from a stop you can hear lots of metal clanking and sounds like its chugging. the vehicle vibrates, skips, like it is trying to get in gear on acceleration. having trouble finding a ford house that has time or willingness to repair. any i have called have said it would be 3-4 days before it can get looked at and won't issue a loaner in the meanwhile. i can't go 3-4 days without a car. monday morning, i am taking in to a dealership and leaving for them to access. this car was purchased for my teenage child who will be getting her license soon, after driving this car for 2 months i do not feel it is safe for her to drive and will be looking at other options for a vehicle. *tr

Ford fiesta 2013 (automatic transmission) - started car. put car in reverse. car did not reverse and there were rattling and grinding sounds coming from transmission. restarted car. car reversed. however, once car was put into drive the transmission was rattling and grinding again. once i tried to accelerate, the car lurched forward, stopped and lurched forward again. the acceleration was not smooth, it felt like the car might stall. the engine noises were loud and not typical. until i reached 45 miles per hour, the engine did not quiet down. driving in traffic was terrible. i had to leave extra room to stop as i did not trust the car to downshift properly. i had to leave extra room to accelerate because i could not predict if the car would go at all or accelerate at an unpredictable speed because the transmission was not trustworthy and the clutch kept slipping. overall, the fiesta's transmission issue has to do with the vehicle's design, and this is not an isolated incident. from 20,000 miles on, i have taken the car in twice to try and fix this defect and it continues to exist. i currently do not have the car as it is at the dealership and has been for 24 days and counting. they can't seem to fix the defects and this transmission design should be investigated. i am currently working with the bbb autoline to try and resolve this issue. *tr

Hello, my wife and i purchased a 2013 ford fiesta in may of 2013. we noticed a hesitation and stalling problem almost immediately. we thought it might be bad gas so we waited and put higher grade gas in it and the problem still continued. at this time, we thought that the problem would be a recall by ford since it was happening all of the time so we waited for a recall notice. approximately in september of 2014 the car was still having this problem and ford sent us a notice that they were aware of the problem. my wife took the car in to have it looked at and they said they have a fix for it which should make it better but would not stop the problem but it would take a while to get it scheduled for service. we scheduled the vehicle and a few weeks later it was done and the problem continued so i took it back in and told them it was still doing it. the employee at the dealership, that i purchased it at, told me that they could not do anything about it until ford comes up with a fix for the problem. i posted on ford service on facebook and then they contacted me and looked into the problem. a customer service representative called me today and verified the same story saying that the problem could not be fixed right now. i asked about the warranty and they seemed uninterested stating again that they can't fix it. another problem is that this car has had this problem over a few year period, so they are aware of it yet they continue to sell it. this car is dangerous, it has even shut off on us a couple of times. the biggest problem driving it is that it will start to take off then will almost shut down leaving you at risk to oncoming traffic before it takes off, there have been some close calls. it is shameful such a large company as ford would not fix this problem or take care of its customers. worst car i have ever owned. *tr
