Car remains stuttering idiling high then low atemps to shut off from time to time, i have taking vehicle to get checked at local ford dealer only when check engine light comes on and says tcm failure or mal function, they repair the part if it's available but now car still does the same thing only difference no oncheck engine light comes on now all repair has to come out of my pocket because they say no check engine light displayed sonrhwy have to guess whatbitnis. this is a known problem from this model vehicle even had a class action lawsuits which i didn't partake in and ford just won't recall this stupid vehicle. i trusted ford and financed this car for what it eventually will get us hurt or even killed.
The vehicle is straining to pick back up speed once it comes to a stop or slows down. there also seems to be a clicking sound coming from the transmission on the driver side. it seems to have trouble switching over the years because it's a dual transmission i'm suspecting something's wrong with the clutch there seems to be a shutter.
When backing out of driveway passenger door opened as it had not latched. mechanism apparently broke for no reason and door will not latch.
The passenger door latch on my 2013 ford fiesta suddenly stopped working. the ford garage said it would be $306.83 + tax to have the part replaced. the currently broken part replaced a recalled door latch in 2016, but apparently only had a 2 year warranty. the door latch broke for the same reason as the 2015-2016 recall, but there is no currently safety recall on this part. i shut the door and thought it was closed. after driving 4 miles, i opened the door and it would not close/latch properly. the vehicle was backing up when the alert dinged on the dash saying the passenger door was open. the alert did not sound when the car was started, which concerns me that the wind caught the opening of the door while going in reverse. i am concerned that the replacement part is just as faulty as the recalled door latch.
Rear passenger door won't latch. when car is in locked mode, you can open the door without pulling the door handle. when in motion door will swing open.*dt consumer stated both latches were replaced, rear passenger as well as the passenger door latch. vin is invalid.*jb
I am getting a loud static popping sound from the radio.. radio turns off and on .lights inside the dashboard flash on and off. headlights dim..the noise is very loud and scary. it happens intermitting no special time .. at times makes the noise and the car isn't even on. it has happened when i am driving and at times when i open the car door. i never know when its going to happen
Check engine light went on. error code p0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1); replace the catalytic converter was suggested. ford is claiming this is not under warranty, however the epa.gov website states the clean air act cars are to have an 8 yr/80k miles warranty. ford denies knowledge of this law.
I am the owner of a 2013 ford fiesta se. i take my car for regular maintenence. i replaced my front and rear brakes in december. a month or two ago i felt an anomaly in my suspension and brakes. the car kept feeling like had a shimmy while driving. it also started making a weird noise. i had my vehicle visually inspected and nothing was noted. i finally took my vehicle to kendricks body shop in aiken, sc and they told me that my brakes had failed causing them to go through the rear backing plate. i was also informed that my vehicle needed to be towed and it was not safe to drive.

Back in may, i got a car from abilene used car sales that i am currently leasing from. after a few weeks, the passenger door lock began to malfunction, it would take multiple slams to keep the door closed. after a couple more weeks, the back right passenger door began doing the same thing. another week later, the driver's door was also being difficult to close. so, within a month, 3 of the 4 doors would require hard slamming to close. sometimes they wouldn't close at all & because of this, i do not feel safe driving in my own vehicle. i would like ford to do something about this & help me get this fixed
Purge valve caused fuel tank to be sucked in 3/4 of an inch. while driving i have surging and when stopped the idle is erratic and bounces between 1000 to 2000 rpm. causes code p0300 to come and go and also p0497 to come and go. extremely hard for dealerships to find the problem. i have video and picture proof of issue.
Driver door latch won't close and latch. vehicle was parked. called ford dealer who stated my vehicle does not have a recall. research indicates there's a problem with my vehicle year, make and model door latches. please help!
The car randomly does not start this all began after my transmission programming being updated and now my pcm is failing and sometimes they car excellerates and the engine revs higher than normal. on several occasions this car has left me stranded. random codes appear and disappear. one time my car turned off and i lost power steering.
On september 18, 2018, my ford fiesta (2013 se 4 dr) right passenger door suddenly, and inexplicably, failed to latch, posing a serious safety risk. fortunately, the car was stationary. however, i had to hold the door closed with a strap while driving to the dealership for repair. their response was "these things give out from time to time". i did not believe that and conducted online research into the persistent problem of fiesta door latch failures. i contacted ford motor's main number and was told my vin is not on the list for recall # 15s16 (door latch failures). however, my car was produced at the same factory, and during the same time period, as the effected recalled fiesta vehicles. my car was manufactured on august 14, 2012, in cuautitlan, mexico. in 2015, ford motor company issued recall 15s16 for fiestas produced at the cuautitlan production site for cars dating feb 1, 2012 - may 31, 2013. i am not certain what ford's criteria is for selecting certain vins for recall. however, this is a serious safety issue that has effected many fiesta drivers. i believe ford has omitted some vins from the original recall list, and must add every vin produced at that cuautitlan mexico plant during the time frame specified in the initial recall for door latch failures. without doing so, myself and other consumers cannot bring our vehicles into dealerships for safety inspection and part replacements to prevent latch failures, and, therefore, remain at risk of our fiestas posing a safety issue.
Front driver side wont close. hatch needs to be replaced. dealer said it will cost around $500 to replace. i saw an article of hatches on recall from 2012 to 2014.
In 2016 door opened while driving, ford fixed door latches, all doors, under a recall. a few months later the rear doors failed again. i was charged to repair the latch. on sept 1, 2018 the passengers back door opened while driving on city street and will not latch again. called dealer and they stated i will have to pay to have it replaced again. i have not had it repaired yet, part is out of stock.
I opened my back passenger seat and closed it. when i closed it, it didnt close. i cant close my door now.
Rear passenger door does not latch shut, prompting the dashboard to read that the door is open.
I have been having issues with my fiesta ever since the first week i got it back in 2015. when driving, the car starts to jerk like its not transitioning into the next gear correctly. i have taken it to multiple shops and even the ford in my area and no one seems to know what the problem is. at times it feels like the car will completely shut off. one of my co workers has the same car and says the same thing happens to her all the time and nobody knows what the problem is. this happens everyday more so when you are a stop and begin to speed up. its a very uncomfortable feeling and it makes for a bad ride, especially when you have other people in the car and you all start jerking because of the car. i do not recommend this car to anyone !!!
While driving the car starting suddenly sounding like fireworks were going off. loud, and scary nearly causing accident. continued to blair startling loud sounds for prolonged time.
Strange egg type smell coming from vents when i turn on heater, difficult to breath in car when this occurs. this continues to happen.
The driver's door will not latch shut. the car was in the drive way and when i tried to close the door it would not close.
While driving on the highway a sudden screeching, popping and cracking sounds startled me to the point i almost hit another car, after parking the car on a side street and turning it completely off the sounds continued on. the car has bluetooth and sync which will not work to turn off the sounds. both systems are down. i had someone look at the car but was told nothing looked wrong they did however check all the fuses and speakers with confused me. i checked for recall on the car but found none related to this problem, i did find lots of online blogs and websites talking about the issue. i hope you can investigate this issue, it really is dangerous driving with this condition
My door will not stay shut. i can close it but the latch doesn't lock and i'll have to duct tape the door closed to get it to the dealership for repair. the problem occurred at home when i opened the door to get stuff out the backseat, then tried to close it and it would not lock. i've rarely used this rear passenger door since i'm the only user of this vehicle and use the hatchback trunk with the seats down, so i reach in out through the trunk mostly.
It started smoking all of a sudden from the engine area. i think the manufacturer is not revealing the real problems in the recall notice
While driving on the expressway my car began smoking and began to overheat which caused a cracked cylinder head that sprayed oil all over the inside of my hood sparking a small fire under the hood. the computer began to shut the car down and displayed a warning message that stated sudden loss of oil pressure, please prepare to pull over safely. just as i read that message the brakes started to lock and the steering became harder to turn as i tried to get off the next exit from the expressway. i reinjured my broken ankle in trying to keep stop and control the car. once pulled over the car continued to smoke and no longer started. i filed a claim with my insurance and it was denied as they found the cause was due to recall mechanical or electrical breakdown still under powertrain warranty. i went online and found on the ford motor company mediacenter website this recall notice date 3/29/17. my vin # was not on this list but to the letter is what i experienced: ford issues safety recall for certain 2013-15 ford escape, ford fiesta st, ford fusion and ford transit connect 1.6-liter gtdi vehicles for under-hood fire risk ford is issuing a safety recall in north america for approximately 230,000 2014 ford escape, 2014-15 ford fiesta st, 2013-14 ford fusion and 2013-15 ford transit connect vehicles equipped with 1.6-liter gtdi engines. ford's investigation of these vehicles has identified a risk of under-hood fires. in the affected vehicles, a lack of coolant circulation could cause an engine to overheat, resulting in a crack in the cylinder head. a cracked cylinder head can result in a pressurized oil leak. oil that comes into contact with a hot engine surface increases the risk of a fire in the engine compartment. ford is aware of 29 reports of fire associated with this issue in the united states and canada. no injuries have been reported.
2013 ford fiesta had door latches replaced in january 2016 under recall. no problems had occurred with the doors previously on this vehicle. 18 months later, the replaced door latch failed. the vehicle was stationary. the failed latch was on the driver's side rear door which is rarely used.
Door is having trouble latching. sometimes feels like the door is closes and comes unlatched while driving. trying to close the door several times has resulted in a dent in the door and broken interior door handle.
I have been experiencing transmission problems including the car stalling when accelerating while trying to complete turns in traffic during turn signals. i have at one point a situation at a stop light where brakes were applied and car went forward unexpectedly. additionally since almost the beginning of the vehicle it has run rough, sometimes having difficulty changing gears, multiple incidents where it stalled when accelerating on interstate. had 2 different repairs to review problem, including ford computer fix that was supposed to help, but did not. this happened multiple times for these instances. instance i demoted on calendar involved vehicle stalling at turns which has happened multiple times as well
The front passenger door latch failed. it would not close. i had to use a thin piece of plastic and lasso it between the door, the front passenger seat metal part of the headrest, and along the door handle. despite doing this the door remained opened (as displayed on the instrument panel) and the inside dome lights would not cutoff. i noticed the door was open just as i had began pulling off. i hopped out shut the door got back in on the drivers side only to see that the instrument panel was still displaying that the door was open. what's ridiculous is on sept 6, 2016 i went into the dealer (marshall ford were i bought the car brand new with 13 miles on it) because the rear passenger door did the exact same thing which was under recall 15s16. was advised by the service manger 'jim" at marshall ford, 1075 west terra lane,o'fallon,mo 63366 that the "replacement part had a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty'..i'm within the 1 yr timeframe but have exceeded the mileage component. i had to get it fixed so i can get around and was told by "randolf" at ford motor company customer relations (800-392-3673) to keep the receipt incase ford issues another recall. this is beyond unsafe and ridiculous.
This car has transmission/clutch issues. i've taken it to ford and they are saying it's the brakes. the sound that my car is making has nothing to do with brakes. my car hesitates, shudders, jerks when driving. it also has a loud noise that i've been told once by ford that it sounded like the clutch. now they say there is nothing wrong with clutch/transmission. my car feels like it's a stick shift and when driving sometimes it feels like it's going to stall after stopping. sometimes i can't get it to reach the speed i want and it has difficulty accelerating. i do not feel safe driving it that is why i have taken it to ford again. i have videos with the noise it's making and i have even played it for the people at ford. despite having heard the video and having driven my car, they say it's fine, nothing is wrong with it. the noise is getting worse and i feel like if i continue driving the car i will get into an accident.
Went to start my vehicle and it did not turn on at all. there is just a clicking noise, so the starter is good, however the battery was dead. i jumped started the car and was able to drive. my information screen said, "transmission malfunction please service now". the vehicle would run at 4,000 rpms before shifting when usually it's supposed and did shift at 3,500 rpms. as i would brake and be under 5mph the vehicle would lurch forward and i would have to slam my brakes in order to make a complete stop and avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me. i took it back home and haven't drove it since. today i tried to unlock my car with my wireless key fob and the doors wouldn't unlock. my vehicle completely lost all power. on the ford website for my specific vehicle, it shows i have field service actions. fsa title: transmission clutch shudder / transmission input shaft seal warranty extension. 150,000/ 10 year warranty. fsa title: transmission control module extended warranty coverage. i have learned the transmission control module can end up having a short and your car can shutter when it shifts and it can lose all power. this is very dangerous and should be addressed by ford and the national highway traffic safety administration, before someone loses their life.
My car has transmission issues. it shudders and hesitates when trying to go into gear.it has been to service well over 6 times in 2 years. i am told that this is the design of the car and i need to understand that this 6-speed automatic shifts internally different. when on the open road and it is in gear it functions ok. in town going from stop light to stop light is when the issue occurs. it hesitates in acceleration and shudders. it has failed me exiting onto a major freeway by not kicking into the proper gear. i no longer try to merge onto a freeway in this car. there is not a doubt in my mind that this car is a safety issue. there have been numerous complaints just like mine about this car. i have tried and tried to tell ford corporation and the local dealership about these issues. i have written a letter stating my concern for my safety in this car. i have gone to the local dealership on numerous occasions and made many attempts at getting them to listen to me regarding these transmission issues. i have left there so offended by them acting like there is nothing wrong with this car when i know they know there is a problem. they put in back on me the driver that i don't know how to drive the car. i have been driving for 38 years most have been 5 speeds, i understand completely how a car is suppose to drive and for them to insinuate otherwise is insulting to me. again this car is a safety hazard and more so than ever now, because the safety latches have malfunctioned on the passenger rear and front doors. i do not feel safe at all driving this car but i have no other options as ford low-balled me on a trade in because they are aware of these issues.
The air conditioning would go out in sto and go traffic and when car off fan would continue. coolant fan is malfunction overheated.
This car has been a nightmare . i complained about transmission and catalytic converter. i now notice that the fuel is not getting the an mount. i m averaging 20 to 25 miles even though it says 33. i see it jumps. i called they said plugs don't have to change until 40000 miles. the milage is moving even though i am driving in a 10 mile radius.
At 18,250 miles, rear door latch failed. door needed to be tied closed in order to travel to dealership on 09/12/14 for repair. on 9/12/15 front door latch was replaced per recall. other doors inspected. on 1/20/15 the right front door latch failed on the car while my 17 year old daughter was driving the vehicle. in order to get home, she had to reach across the passenger seat and hold the door closed while driving. i can not for my life think of a more dangerous situation for a young driver. the car has been taken in for the latch to be replaced. the only documentation that i have are repair orders from the incidences. please contact me if you need to have them sent to you.
I was unaware about the ford fiestas having a recall on the transmissions. my car hesitates , jerks and hard to accelerate. it is very dangerous for me when i'm driving on the highway to school and to work and also it has been at ford service center many times for them to tell me that's just how ford made the car and just accelerate more
I purchased a 2013 ford fiesta i purchased on december 23, 2015 at the laurel, maryland carmax store. on saturday, september 24th, i went to jim coleman toyota to buy a toyota prius. they examined my ford for its trade-in value. the manager, who was a former carmax manager, examined the car and informed me that my ford fiesta has unibody damage. the rear driver's side as be replaced. the car has unibody damage was not disclosed to me when i purchased this car on december 23, 2015. i purchased the car for $14,000, which is far above the blue book value of $9,419. in march 2016, i bought the car to carmax in laurel for overheating. the heat pump was replaced for $250. additionally, on september 15th, i paid for repairs at the carmax gaithersburg store. the repairs were for the following: 1-front passenger door latch;2-truck latch; and 3-horn i was charged $250 to repair critical safety features. while the car was in gaithersburg, the battery drained. the car door could not close, so the interior lights remained on. i reported the door latch problems on monday, august 29th. the car was in park. my sister and i were trying to leave for church and the door would not close. however, i was not given an appointment until september 8th in gaithersburg and september 13th in laurel. that was quite a long time to wait for such a critical issue. i would have never purchased a car with unibody damage had it been disclosed. to be charged for a recall item that should have been repaired prior to purchase, is unconscionable. i am totally outraged.
Over the last 2 months, the radio and instrument dashboard have been flashing intermittently and car losing power. brought to ford dealership but they couldn't duplicate the problem during test drive. in addition to the problems listed earlier, now the tcs off keeps on flashing even when car is idle.
Key was not in the ignition, opened car door after work in parking lot and heard loud static coming from radio/audio system (this has happened several times before but the most recent incident was the worst). please note the incident has happened while the car was moving up the 55 miles per hour and also while the car has been parked - key not in ignition. i hear 'cracking and popping' regularly and sometimes the volume is terrifying and startling. it could actually cause an auto crash - think about driving down the road and the audio system starts blaring static at 10+ unexpectedly... my radio/cd player does not work properly and if it does work for a few minutes, i will hear loud cracking and loud popping and then the radio/cd cuts off. the car feels 'electrified' (the hair on my arms has raised). i believe it is a safety issue and after searching online, i have noticed hundreds of other individuals are writing about experiencing the same problem. recall help much appreciated because something isn't right with the ford cars experiencing these electrical problems. please note while these electrical/audio static problems are going on, the sync system hasn't been fully operational either. my state does not allow driving with cellphones so an unavailable sync system is not only a pain but prevents compliance with the law.
The transmission has been slipping constantly. when starting from a dead stop the transmission slips preventing its from catching the first two gears. also the passenger side door latch will not close. the door all of a sudden came open while driving. this car is unsafe.
Ford has recalled transmission control module on my car, it has been determined a transmission clutch is needed to repair the car to prevent the car from changing gears while the car is in motion and can cause damage, harm and death. the dealership will not repair my car as required by ford motors company as i have requested a rental car while my car in in service. i am seriously concerned if my car is not repaired the car could cause harm to me and possible death as the car does hestiate and stall while going thru intersections and at stop signs and take off.
Car is stalling and chugging at low speeds. car does not accelerate properly and will jump/skip. this is an ongoing issue. car was originally taken to dealership for service 09/2014 and it was determined that fluid in the clutch was leaky. problems reemerged in 02/2015 & 04/30. dealer determined car was running to ford specifications. car continues to exhibit same issues.
Rear passenger side door will not latch to stay closed causing door to swing open at any time.
I purchased a vehicle which came with some recalls so far i've had 3 my newest one is the transmission clutch which is very distracting and annoying as i drive i was at one point ready to give it back to the dealership i need it fixed do i can go on vacation but it seems a very long time if a wait since i heard back from the dealership this was added on as a recall but why is it i don't see it listed under yours i also got nothing on the air bag but i see it on yours and of course i knew about the latch for door i got a notification on that
Loss of power..the transmission control module may experience electrical circuit failures causing loss of transmission engagement, no start, or lack of power..only been driving vehicle 6 months , it has been in shop already but they say they can't fix it unless ford gives them permission..contacted ford case # cas7928058..this loss of power most frequently happens at take off..stoplights, stop signs, busy intersections...
The door latch of the back passenger door malfunctioned and would not latch/close the back seat door. the latch was determined to uncorrectable and the door was unable to completely close. houston's ford helfman provided information that the malfunction was recall, but the current recall was not released publicly. when contacting houston's helfman ford dealership they proved to be rude and very difficult to provide quality information on correcting their manufacture's malfunctioning part. the vehicle is currently in their shop, however the status of resolving the issue was unknown by the end of the day. a formal complaint was made then about a half hour later the service manager called and apologized for his team's unprofessional and rudeness. additionally, he stated he will escalate the issue to get it resolved or begin the inspection process. the point of this complaint is the fact that we were fortunate to discover this malfunction in the drive way. if we were driving with passengers - young children, canines, or elderly - in the back seat and the problem was discovered at 60 mph on a highway then this could have been a tragic failure.
While taking the baby to visit the grand parents, we arrived there and taking the baby out of the car the passenger rear door popped open and would not latch. we had to tie the door closed. the car is not safe to drive in this condition, rely on ropes and bungee cords to keep the door closed. it offers no protection in the event of a crash. this condition should be reported to the car owners now, they should have to wait for doors on the vehicle to pop open to find out they have a problem with the car.
I bought the car in october 2014. it was a week later i noticed the issues with the transmission that i would push on the gas pedal that it would either jerk or take a second just too get the car to move. i took it in to a dealership and the dealership was terrible and said they fixed it. however when i got the car back the next day i was driving to work in sandy, utah on state street when the transmission went out and i had to get it towed back to the dealership where they wouldn't take any ownership of the issue. they said it was a "coincidence". they fixed it and i didn't have an issue until two months later the issue started happening again with the jerking forward and feeling that it was lurching forward.
When accelerating the fiesta lurches and then goes forward. the air conditioning pumps out cool air and then hot air off and on. the lurching issue has not been repaired and this is the fourth visit.
