When making a left turn the automatic transmission acted like it was in the wrong gear. making a normal left turn, pulled up to the light and waited for cross traffic to clear, when cross traffic cleared pressed accelerator to go and the car barely responded. almost cause an accident because the car would not go. *tr

After 6 months i started having vibration/ transmission slippage issues. i took it back to the dealer and they fix the transmission fluid leak. six months later the problem persists. the car was repair 3 times for the same defect. now is 20,120 miles still have the same problem, and the dealership where i bought it don't want to repair it anymore. *tr

I have been having problems with my transmission from shortly after the day i purchased the vehicle. it shutters, locks up and cannot shift gears. it has been in the shop over 5 times for the same issue and is still under manufacturers warranty. what can be done for me? *tr

Six months ago i had been to the dealers for a failed door latch on my rear passenger door and lightning struck again. i was beginning to feel like a pro. went to the store and loaded the front seat this time with groceries and went to close it and it just bounced back. in a way i was grateful because i knew what was wrong but at the same time i was like are you kidding? i was in a location where i could retrieve a bungee cord from my place of business and luckily it was a saturday and ford was still open so i took it in and they could lock it up until monday. they overnighted a part from another dealer and were able to install it late tuesday night but as it so happened putting the latch and door back together, the right side window handle regulator broke and they hand to replace it. i ended up getting my car back on thursday. so in a matter of six months i had two broken door latches on two different doors. i was grateful to be close to a ford dealer but it concerns me for those who are not and those who might be traveling far distances and this happens. it concerned me that it all the warranties that my new car has and still has that this incident was not considered a safety concern that they would have paid for a rental car. only reason they paid for it was because i called and raised a kerfuffle and pointed out the security and safety concerns and it actually had to be assigned a whole case number. even after all of this i receive a notice in the mail about a warranty extension on mypower shift 6speed automatic transmission for excessive transmission clutch shudder caused by fluid contamination of the clutch due to leaking transmission seals. after all of this i will never buy a ford again!! *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving 40 mph, the vehicle began to vibrate. the accelerator pedal vibrated as the contact applied force to the pedal and the speed decreased while driving up a hill. there were no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the contact observed transmission fluid leaking from the front of the transmission. the vehicle was restarted and the failure recurred. the failure continued to occur on a consistent basis. the manufacturer was notified and did not provide a remedy. there were no diagnostic tests performed nor was the vehicle repaired. the failure mileage was 60,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that she was driving approximately 10 mph when the vehicle became resistant to acceleration. the contact depressed the accelerator pedal but the vehicle did not respond. the vehicle erroneously accelerated once the contact released the accelerator pedal. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 24,000.

Inquiry from congressman courtney on behalf of constituents re a recall that should be issued for a 2012 ford fiesta. *smd the consumer stated over the last two years, the transmission became a problem. there was a shudder coming from the transmission. the transmission control module, and transmission oil seal were replaced. also, there were numerous reprogramming of the tcm. the vehicle has been to the dealer 13 times since january 2014 to address the transmission issue or the performance of the transmission. on one occasion, the vehicle left the consumer's daughter stranded. the transmission failure was unpredictable. *jb

The transmission on the car will start giving out and when your trying to drive in road it will start to slow down. i have taken my car for service to ford for the same reason and other repairs have been done to the car since i bought it brand new from ford. i believe my car should be bought back i have to keep taking it to get work done on it. *tr

In early 2013, i took my car to my dealer because of transmission concerns, they told me it was normal for my transmission. december 2013, my car would balk, did not want to proceed when i pressed on the gas pedal. took it back to my dealer. they found the problem with my transmission. they stated they did not have the part. i explained i was getting ready to go out of town. the service advisor stated, it would not be safe for me to drive my car. i ended up leaving my car there & rented a car for 2 weeks. less than a year later, same thing. they replaced the part. after that visit, there was a terrible racket coming from underneath my car. less than a year later, had to have the part replaced again. i complained about the noise. they told me it was wind noise from coming from a heat shield. i moved to another state, my car could hardly go up a hill. took it to a ford dealer. i needed that part replaced again & needed bearings & other parts replaced in my transmission. the noise was still there & they found another problem with the internal parts of my transmission. they had to completely rebuild my transmission.

The vehicle has serious transmission issues. in low gears it often lurches, shakes, and stall out as if it's going to drop the gear. there is a loud grinding/rattling sound when the car shifts. it feels very unsafe driving in stop and go traffic or in city conditions. the issues with the lurching gears and dropped gears also make it very difficult to accelerate quickly. this makes merging onto a highway unsafe. *tr

I first submitted a report on this site back in december 2013 regarding issues with my transmission/clutch. i had owned the car for a year and had about 36000 miles on my car when it started stalling but the issues probably started around 20-25,000 miles. although i do recall one instance about 6 months after i bought the car when the engine/transmission seemed to cut short on the highway. most of the transmission issues involved shuddering/shaking and growling noise/stalling sensation when in 1st/2nd gear.my mechanic (non-ford related) mentioned it didn't seem normal. a few weeks later my car semi-stalled in an intersection. i took it to ford, they kept my car for a month until they got the part and "fixed" it. a few months later i got a letter stating there were issues with transmission. but no formal recall which is shocking....now a year and half later and about 15,000 more miles on my car i have started feeling that same sensation when driving. i know the issues with my transmission is starting again. i recently moved out of state, and the dealership i called is giving me the run around when bringing it in (no available appointments for weeks, no free rental car which if it's under warranty i should get). plus there is the door/latch recall. this car is unsafe, i'm shocked there hasn't been more recalls or taking the cars with this type of transmission off the road.... already contacted ford regarding my frustrations with this car. they've extended the warranty but what good will that do when the warranty is up and the transmission is failing every 20,000 or miles or so? or when someone gets hurt? the fair thing for them to do is apologize for their mistakes, take the cars off the road, and reimburse people for the cars. investing in quality car that is safe and reliable is important. ford is not it. ......updated 10/20/15 *bf updated 12/13/2017*cn

My car had some suspected issues from the beginning (grinding noise when shifting through gears) but i assumed it was because of the dual transmission the car drove like a manual. i had some issues with shuddering but i was assured it was because of the way that the transmission is. in december when my car was about 2 years old and i had about 32,000 miles on it the noise intensified and become worse, it was also accompanied by the car shuddering almost constantly namely at low speeds. i took it for an oil change, and the technician told me that something seemed off with the transmission so i might want to have a ford dealership look at it since it was still under warranty. a couple days later i was accelerating from a green light and my car did what seemed like a semi-stall, the car died for about 10-15 seconds before kicking back on. i took it to the dealership, and apparently some ford fiesta's have a defect of some sort in the transmission which causes the clutches to slip. they gave me a free loaner car, but i have no idea when i will get my car back since the parts that are needed are massively backordered. i feel like ford owners that may be affected by the issues with the transmission should be notified of this potential issue. it may not be a huge safety issue now, but if those transmissions start giving out it could be. hopefully there will be no other issues with my car especially after it is no longer under warranty. *tr

I'm filing this complaint against ford motor company concerning my 2012 ford fiesta the vechicle has severals recall 0n it about the transmission i have put the vechicle in the shop six times since i purchase the vechicle in 2013 the vechicle jerks/shudder/climb up hill slow/roll back on hills/i almost been in several accident because of this vechicle i was driving on the freeway/stop on a hill vechicle roll back almost bump vechicle behind me

My cars transmission is noisy, it grinds, it slips, it sounds like it's going to stall and i've had it at the ford dealership twice and they refuse to touch it. they tell me it's normal and they can't do anything about it. it's not safe. it sounds horrible and it does slip out of gear. *tr

Ford has a problem with cvt transmission. the seals leak. they give lip service to repairs. i went many times to lafayette ford. they replaced the transmission seal. the transmission still slips. now they say it is the clutches. ford has the part, on back order. i have asked, for a new transmission. the ford area manager said no. the think there needs to be a recall of the cvt, on 2012-2014 focuses and fiesta. *tr

I have a 2012 ford fiesta that i bought brand new in march 2012. at random times i felt the car shuddering during acceleration when going into 1st and 2nd gear. it got to the point where it happened more frequently causing my car to shake. at times it would feel like it would die out. i finally took my car into the dealership during the warranty period still and they diagnosed it as the clutch system having trouble catching. this was replaced in january 2014. 10000 to 12000 miles later around the end of may 2014 the same problems are happening again. at this time my engine light came on. i took it in again complaining about the shaking upon acceleration and engine light. they told me that it is expected with this type of transmission because of the built of it and blamed the throttlebody (engine light diagnosis) that is causing the shaking. i paid out of pocket for the throttle body since at this time my warranty period expired. i picked it up and 2 days later i had to return it to the dealership because they did not resolve the problem of shaking upon acceleration. they kept the car for a day and the transmission tech diagnosed the same problem as before which was the clutch assembly system. even the service advisor stated to me that many other fiesta owners are having problems with the transmission and some are on their 3rd replacement of the clutch system. currently i'm still waiting for the parts for my car to come in to have it repaired but the shaking is getting worse and making loud grinding noises. it feels like it will stall on me especially when i'm trying to cross any intersection on make turns when accelerating from a stalled position. majority of the time i have my children in the car and very nervous that it will lead to a potential crash. *js

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was able to restart. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted months later. the contact mentioned that the vehicle was serviced under a manufacturer recall for the clutch. four months later, the failure persisted. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced again. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failures. the failure mileage was unknown.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving at 40 mph, the contact noticed a loud grinding and knocking sound. the contact stated that the vehicle also jerked into gear. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that it needed a clutch or transmission. the vehicle was not repaired, however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 5,000.

From the stopped position, the whole front end of the car shudders as you begin to press the accelerator. we took the car to a ford dealer, they (koons, silver spring) updated the software and told us it would take 1k to 1500 miles for the problem to stop because we have 3 family members that drive this car and it has a driver style memory.. the shuddering also causes the car to lurch and pause if you have to merge from a stopped position to 40 or above mph. a problem only a very experienced driver can adjust for. this problem is dangerous to all on the road. i want a response from ford or a possible recall. many blogs already on the internet.

The clutch/transmission is defective in these cars. we have had our clutch worked on twice since we have owned the car. it will fix the problem for about 10k miles and then it will start shuttering as we start from a stop. it will also nearly stall out and shudder going up a hill. ford says it is not a common problem yet i have read a bunch of complaints online about the issue. i will never buy a ford again. *tr

Shortly after purchasing my 2012 ford fiesta (new) in december, 2012, it began shuddering when changing between gears. it also made a "rattling" noise when accelerating or sometimes even when cruising at a steady speed. the first time i brought the car to the dealership, they kept it for a few days but told me they could not duplicate the problem. the second time i brought it (october, 2013, approximately 30,000 miles) they kept it for a week and told me there was something leaking on to the clutch and they fixed it. now, at 57,000 miles, the car is shuddering worse than ever, particularly between first and second gears, and the rattling noise has gotten progressively worse. people riding with me constantly ask what in the world is wrong with my car. i finally brought it back to the dealership, where it has now been for two weeks. they've called twice - the first time to say that they were going to have to remove the entire transmission, so it would be a while longer before it was repaired. the second time was a week ago when they said ford had something they wanted them to try (not sure what exactly it was). have not heard from them since. i'm fearful that at less than 60,000 miles i'm going to have a vehicle that a) can never be fully repaired and b) is possibly unsafe. and certainly i'll never be able to sell it or get any money for it, who wants to purchase a used vehicle that has a reputation for so many problems, as both the fiesta and the focus do. *tr

Multiple clutch failures. first one started failing around 50,000 and replaced at 70,000. replaced second clutch at 100,000. this third clutch is now failing at 130,000. i see from reading many other similar complaints on this site that it is a systemic problem. i have experienced the same chronic symptoms of erratic acceleration and shuddering in first, second and third gear. i have had many near accidents due to this problem. to me this is clearly a defective part and needs to be recalled.

Tranny jerks at stops acts like shift bogs down im always being honked at to move im afraid to drive car then i take to dealer which took 3 weeks n then told had to pay $100 to have checked out which i didn't have the money its under warranty called ford at least 8 times n never received any satisfaction it was checked my the dealer i bought from n they said nothing was wrong. *tr

Jerks and shudders when accelerating constantly - on highways and city streets. transmission makes a grinding noise when driving. sometimes will take a few seconds to accelerate at all - this is very dangerous on highways because the car will get "stuck" and not accelerate. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph attempting to accelerate, the vehicle started shaking violently. the failure recurred two times. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. the technician diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. the manufacturer was notified of the issue. the failure mileage was 19,121.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving at 30 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to stop. in addition, the contact stated that the vehicle vibrated and jerked. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. the vehicle was taken to a dealer multiple times who diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced and the computer needed to be updated. the vehicle was repaired . however, the failure persisted. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 20,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while traveling approximately 70 mph, the transmission began to slip gears in a jerking motion. in addition, a clicking and grinding noise emitted outside of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who stated that the clutch would need to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 32,000.

My car shudders a lot when stopping especially on the highway or merging off the highway' also happens in city or suburbs if going over 40 mph; , gear slips when stationery before hitting gas to move car, speed slows down or hesitates when hitting gas pedal, took to dealership many times and nothing ever got fixed. ford sent a letter stating that i would get double the warranty on the transmission and i will receive a letter stating this, but will not confirm anymore. problems occured after i purchased this fiesta in june 2012 but did not know that it was not working properly until the recall came out and i took it in for the first time. i was told that i was "too late" to get anything to fix it or have it taken back by ford because i had waited a year. i didn't even know that the car was working poorly! it was brand new and i thought this was the way it was okay to drive because the problems were not as noticable. it got much worse as time passed. i have repair invoices but i need to fine them. i want my complaint filed now so that i am not forgotten. i had a lemon lawyer contact me named trott, who told me that if i accepted a claim he would put in for me, it would be the best deal i would get in terms of attonement. he said he got $8k and took $3k for his work. i received a check for $5k. i asked mr.trott if i should get the car repair with this money. he said people are keeping the money and getting rid of their cars. i kept my car because i cannot afford to buy another one regardless of the $5k i received. i do not use my car very much now because i do not like that it shudders when i use the brakes and that it slows down when i hit the gas pedal. i will upload the documentation you ask for when i locate it.

Transmission grinding, lurching, rpms reving, slow to respond to gas pedal depression, rolls back at stop on incline, brakes went bad at 25000, tires went bad at 28000, transmission clutch replaced continues to have issues. *tr

Car increasingly shifting hard. accelerated from green light. car jerking so severely almost lost control. this occurred numerous times since purchase. car reprogrammed couple times but never lasts. shudders, jerks, at times won't shift. dealership mechanics advise that car should not shift in that manner. under warranty. in dealership shop now for last 6 weeks clutch replaced but leaking waterpump on back order. all my warranty paperwork wit dates in my car at dealership. if need more precise dates, let me know. *tr

2012 ford fiesta: purchased 12/4/12 original owner! have had my vehicle in several times for transmission concerns since my i purchase of the vehicle. took it to the dealer i purchased it with, they told me nothing about the awareness of the transmission issues. in fact i ran into the salesman who stated he just found out himself and is he had known he would not advised the purchase of this vehicle. since they had been repairing the transmission/clutch with no cost out of my pocket, i continued to have them repair the transmission. but, i have now spent more time back and forth between the dealer and having to leave my car for diagnoses and repair work and it is getting very old. not to say what this does for the resale of the vehicle. the repairs for the transmission/clutch have been endless, replacing seals, reprogramming computers etc etc. i have been into the dealer five (5) occasions for the same issue, with some occasions having to leave the car with the dealer for days (parts were back ordered). clearly ford was not initially willing to acknowledge the issue until most recently, the dealer now states the symptoms from the transmission are a common occurrence with a 6 speed auto & dual clutch. repair work on transmission: date, mileage, repairs thus far: 5/03/13: 9,659: reprogramming, adaptive learning 7/11/13: 13,193: ids updated, reset adaptive learning 10/29/13: 19,945: clutch assembly, seals, gaskets replaced, transmission assistance programming 5/21/14: 33,062: replaced output shaft: seal asy., bearing asy., clutch asy. etc etc. 10/7/14: 42,757: power control, transmission control and computer updates. 11/22: called ford dealer service: reported the transmission/clutch [problems continue. their response was the shuttering and hesitations are normal transmission operation, can bring to dealer for additional diagnoses, if i felt so inclined. *tr

My 2012 ford fiesta, like all automatic transmission 2012 fiestas and focuses, has developed chronic transmission problems -- slippage, rattling, grinding, shaking -- while shifting from a stop into first, second into third, etc. these problems were slightly noticeable at the beginning of the month and, three weeks later, are markedly worse. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated while driving approximately 10 mph, there was a delayed response when the accelerator pedal was engaged. the failure recurred two times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the transmission clutch was replaced. the vehicle was not repaired for most recent failure. the manufacturer was notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 18,000. the vin was unavailable.

When coming to a complete stop and pulling out i feel a shudder, feels like car is jumping. you can definitely feel and hear it. day ford in monroeville pittsburgh pa said i needed a new clutch kit system. a year later on april 15th same incident. came back to me as they could not find anything wrong. they stated it was in the cars limitation, (rpm). three weeks later brought it back to them and said it as getting worse. they looked over car and stated yes they felt the shudder but the car was in limitation. they also stated many complaints on this issue so they extended the care warranty from 50,00 to 100,000. i stated that i was not satisfied and said i will file a complaint. *tr

Car started to jerk while trying to accelerate. and car started to turn off at red lights. and need to be started up again to get going . *tr

Transmission/shift vibrates and shakes when it shifts and on occasion dies at stops. hesitates sometimes when accelerating from stop. taken to dealer multiple time, they apply software updates and deny anything is wrong. dealer and ford motors say it is within guidelines and refuse to do anything further.. *tr

Car (ford fiesta 2012 purchased in may 2012) regularly stalls, jerks and shakes when accelerating and causes car not to move as quickly. car moves slower when it stalls, jerks and shakes. driver cannot gauge when stalling will occur and when car will move slower. this is a safety concern because if in a situation where the driver needs to accelerate to get out of the way quickly, car may or may not move as expected and may not be able to get out of the way to avoid another vehicle which could result in an accident. car has been taken to the dealer twice (3/27/13 and 12/21/13 for this transmission issue and it continues to occur. repair receipts state that the cause is leaking seals from clutch housing area. they have removed transmission replaced inner and outer input shaft seals, cleaned clutch and reassembled. despite their efforts we continue to have this problem with the vehicle. *tr

Vehicle shuddering and grinding noise when accelerating from a stop. makes it very difficult to gauge acceleration rate. this is a real and documented safety concern nationwide. *tr

This is an on-going issue with this car. while driving at lower speeds or while trying to accelerate while merging onto a highway or at a traffic stop the car will shudder, pause, jerk forward or pause. there have been several incidents where i have nearly been in a collision because of this clutch problem. the jerk reaction of the accelerator has caused the most close calls, as it can happen while decelerating as well. i have brought this issue to my local dealer's attention and have had it in the shop for a total of 3 weeks or more within a 6 week period recently. both times i was told the clutch system was reset and had to re-adapt to my driving, only to have the problem start again within a day or two unexpectedly. i have to bring my car in yet again for this same issue. *tr

I bought this car brand new in july of 2012 and i have had nothing but problems with it. the main issue being the horrible transmission. the car sputters and shakes upon take off; the rpms rev up very high and yet the care goes nowhere; the car sounds like it needs to shift into the next gear, but doesn't; there is a huge delay when you step on the gas, the car sits there before it actually goes anywhere; the car lunges forward when you are in situations like stop and go traffic. i have taken my car into two separate dealers and the car has had 3 clutches so far. the newest problem with the car is a horrible squealing coming from the brakes. i've had two new sets of brakes and a deglazing of the brakes, only to have the problem still exist. i've taken this car in for a total of 6 times for the transmission and this week will be the 4th time for the brakes. these cars are a road hazard and should be recalled immediately. i have filed a complaint with ford motor company and the bbb auto line. ford should be ashamed of themselves for knowing about these issues and not doing anything about it. people's lives are at risk in these cars and they obviously don't care. i wonder how many people will have to die or get injured before ford decides to admit they sold a horrible product and that it needs to be recalled.

Transmission makes a grinding sound and shudders when shifting. when you go to turn a corner the car shudders so bad it almost stalls. when driving up hills when tha transmission shifts it starts to shudder and you almost stall. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving approximately 30 mph, the transmission failed to shift gears properly and jerked. the failure reoccurred when driving on several occasions. the vehicle was repaired under the manufacturer special customer satisfaction program pertaining to the replacement of the transmission shifter. after the remedy was performed, the failure recurred twice. the recall remedy was insufficient and failed to correct the failure. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 300.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. while driving 20 mph, the vehicle jerked violently and the transmission malfunction light illuminated. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 35,900.

Within a few months of driving this car that we purchased brand new, it started shifting roughly. it would feel like it was going to stall out whenever we made a left turn from a stop, and it would stutter and jerk when switching between the lower gears. everyone who rode with us or drove this car asked what was wrong with it. i brought it to the dealership at least 3 times, and every time i brought it they said they checked it over and it was fine (at first, it was "learning" how we drive, then we were "driving it wrong" and needed to really "punch it" starting from a stop). gas mileage was terrible too, as we were slamming the gas trying to keep the car from stalling. i brought it to my independent mechanic who said there was definitely something wrong with the transmission, brought it to the dealership we bought it from again, and they again said there was no problem and we were driving it wrong. just got it back from another dealership who immediately said there was a problem and replaced the clutch. they said that the seals around the clutch have been redesigned, and that was the issue, and we should not have the issue again. i hope that is the case, but wish we had never bought this car. *tr

The "affected part" is the transmission. the "incident" that occurred is a recurring problem with the power shift transmission. when the car's automatic transmission is in "drive" or "reverse", and the driver takes his foot off the brake or accelerator, the car acts as though it is in neutral for about 1 second. if the car is on a hill, the car will roll downhill during that brief period when the brake/accelerator is not applied. although this has not caused an accident driving the car yet, i am very concerned about the potential safety hazards this could cause. if the car is stopped on a hill and the driver lets off the brake/accelerator, despite any action of the driver, the car may roll downhill and hit a car behind it. additionally, parallel parking is very difficult because the transmission remains in neutral for that 1 second, and even on a slight hill the car will roll. i took the car in to my ford dealership to alert them of this problem, and they told me that is normal functioning of the transmission. i have never driven a car that, when in drive, rolled backwards while i was on a hill. if this is supposed to be normal functioning of the transmission, then the transmission has a faulty design. i am concerned about the hazards this transmission may cause, since if a car is close behind me while i am parked on a hill, my car may roll back and hit it outside of my control. in a typical manual transmission car, the driver is able to control this rolling with the clutch and brake. because this is an automatic transmission, the driver is not able to control the rolling. *tr

Its rolls backwards, again as previously stated it has definite transmission issues. sometimes it won't shift very well at all. hesitating and feels like it will stall at any minute. hills are the worst, very hard to get up them. not only does it spit and sputter shifting up but you can also hear the clunking of the transmission when it shifts down. *tr

October 24, 2012 i was driving to work. i accelerated very gingerly (the powershift is effectively two three speed manuals so you can't just jab it) to pass. the car geared into a lower gear as expected and the engine rpm's spiked as expected. the light at the intersection was turning red so i braked easily to bring the car to a stop. at this point the car was holding the lower gear and revving out of control. i was able to stop the car (as it was trying to overpower the brakes) and place it into neutral which stopped the problem. the car then died and would not restart for approximately 5 minutes. i restarted the car. as i was getting off the interstate, i was merging into traffic the transmission geared down again. the problem repeated. i tried placing the car in neutral again, however, this did nothing. i cut the car off completely at 50 mph. my steering got really heavy. i used the brakes and the emergency brake to slow the car and strong arm the wheel to the side of the road. the transmission is junk and the dealership is replacing many parts including a couple clutches (it only has two i believe) and some other internals. this car is not safe. it accelerated out of control and would not respond to commands from the gear selector. i powered off the car to avoid further damage or accident. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the air bag light remained illuminated. the vehicle also jerked when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vin was unavailable. the failure mileage was 79,000.

High pitch noise/squeelwhen clutch is used from a cold start for the first few miles. this will be the second replacment in two months. *tr

I purchased my "new" vehicle in august 2012 and very soon there after i heard a rattling noise in the front of the car. the dealership made a date for me to bring the car in. they stated that they were not able to hear the noise but that ford was aware of the problem because other people have had the problem. close to my second oil change date i brought my vehicle in and asked if they would again try to hear the noise because it drives me crazy. they again stated that they did not hear the noise and that ford is aware there is a problem. on my 10,000 check up i again asked that the service person check out the noise well apparently by this time ford had figured out that there was a shield in the transmission that needs to be sealed. on may 16th i was told the part would be at the service station in a couple of days. today is the 30th no call and no part and now i am told the end of june. i am moving out of state and need to drive my rattling broken down transmission 2,000 miles in my what was supposed to be a brand new car. august will be a year. it is not fair i still pay my loan for my broken down piece of junk. *tr
