We have classified the 283 complaints from 2011 Ford Fiesta about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
Car will not start. push start button makes the car do a fast clicking noise. the car will not start even from a jump. upon taking the vehicle to the auto shop discovered a bad transmission module resulting from overheating/loss of fluid. module replaced by ford. three weeks later same problem.
While driving from denver to longmont co (8/14/15) on hwy 76 the vehicle would not respond when i needed to accelerate then the engine cut off. i was able to restart and put in neutral to navigate traffic to get to side of the road. the car died. it could not be restarted. while waiting for tow truck i was able to start car again and tried to drive, it would not respond to accelerator and then died. car was towed to longmont repair shop. the mechanic there reached out to ford and was told they were aware of those issues but part was on 6 month backorder. car was then picked up by ford of longmont. they said that it wasn't the tcm and replaced 3 smaller parts. six days later i was driving on diagonal highway in boulder co and the car refused to accelerate and the died. car was towed to ford of longmont again. i was told by the service department that ford requires that when replacing the tcm they must first repair minor part and return to customer as "fixed" and wait for subsequent part failure before replacing the tcm. ford of longmont replaced the part on 8/20/15.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving approximately 45 mph, the rpms accelerated. the failure recurred several times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the tranmission control module needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 93,766.
Driving on interstate 75 in the middle lane at 70 mph my tcm malfunctioned, i knew this because of the customer satisfaction program 14m02 that i received in february 2015. my car abruptly had no power. i feared for my life because i had semi trucks and vehicles coming up behind me at very high speed and i had no power to my vehicle. i had to coast over one lane as safely as possible to the shoulder to safety. i am very thankful me or my family was not in a serious accident. the park and drive symbols on the dash were flashing between p and d and the engine light kept flashing. i turned off my car and called my brother. he said to see if it starts. it did after several tries. i then turned on my hazards and drove to the next exit which was within 200 ft. i got off the highway and took the back roads home. i got within 4 blocks of my home and it did it again, lost power. let it sit a minute and turned it on again, and pulled into my residence. the next morning i drove the side streets to the dealer but made a stop. came back out to my car and the vehicle would not start. called the dealer and they sent a tow truck but i had to wait 1 hour for the truck to arrive. this is a very dangerous situation with the tcm. a very serious problem is since it's not a recall you do not have the option to have it fixed before you're put into a dangerous situation. you have to wait until you have problems before ford's will fix the tcm. ford did replace the malfunctioning tcm on my car. a recall needs to replace the customer satisfaction program 14m02, this is a very dangerous and life threatening problem.
The car jerks and act like it wants to stall out. the vehicle is an automatic.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while shifting from first to second gear, there was a loud clicking noise coming from the front of the vehicle. while stopped at a red light, the engine stalled without warning. the vehicle restarted. the failures recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the vehicle was functioning properly. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was approximately 69,456.
I was driving my vehicle and the engine light came on as did the wrench icon signifying a need of immediate repair. the car kept driving, but i had to slow down for traffic. when i tried to accelerate again, my car had little power. i pressed the gas pedal further and the car jerked forward, then slowed itself down immediately and bucked on me a few times. i was in traffic and it caused me to almost get rear ended twice as it would abruptly stop. the engine ran, i could drive, but it wouldn't let me go very fast and kept switching gears on me. i took it to the shop, and they said it was a logic issue but could be a further transmission issue and i should drive it until something else happens. they also promised me that the logic was fixed and nothing like that would happen again. this something else happened a week later exactly as it had happened before. again, i almost got into an accident because of how abruptly the car stopped and sped up. the internet is full of stories just like this one.
When acceleration transmission shifts very rough. bangs gear -> grinding noise. car feels weak and rolls backward very easy. gas pedal not responsive. caused almost a car crash on the freeway when sudden loss of power. i have been driving manual and automatic cars but this is dangerous!!
Suddenly hard shift, and weak performance. grinding noise when shifting or driving slow. gas pedal not responsive. caused almost a accident on the freeway when suddenly the car lost power and neither up or downshift was possible. i have been driving manual and automatic cars and trucks for years, this is poor engineering and very dangerous. cars also tends to roll back and engine often vibrates, it wants to stall because its in the wrong gear or something. and again, it bangs the gears and the car literally wants to jump forward in the car in front of me.
Clutch shuttering, acceleration / stopping,
In feb. of 2015 i received a letter from ford motor co. about the transmission control module. the "notice" said my car may experience intermittent symptoms of lose of power while driving,no-start,or a lack of power, among a few other things. when i called a ford dealer...i was basically treated like a stupid old woman and when i ask what i should do, i was told drive it until it happens!. well, it happened! 5 months later my car stalled, the motor kept running, the car just would not go, i was lucky i had time to get to the side of the road before i was rear-ended. ford did "fix" my car. today, 3 months later, my car stalled on a very busy high, 18 wheeler right behind me and once again i was able to quickly turn into a parking lot. now they have my car and it will take 3 months, that's right 3 months to "fix" it! i'm very happy to be alive to report this. i'm very happy i get to see my family again. thanks ford for almost taking my life twice!!!! why is this not a recall!!!!!!! let's not forget about the people i could've died with today. i'm so mad. how can ford get away with this. who will die today, tonight or tomorrow because of this? better pray it's not your family member or mine!
Bought a 2011 ford fiesta (automatic) and have had nothing put problems with the vehicle shaking, shuddering, grinding gears, as if i am a first time driver just learning to drive a standard. it has put me in a couple situations when pulling into traffic where the vehicle fails to identify which gear it is in during the first 3 gears of acceleration, and has nearly caused me to have an accident even though i allowed myself what i believed to be a very safe distance to pull out into traffic with no problems. now i feel like i should give myself at least a miles distance between vehicles to merge successfully without the fear of an accident. i bought the car after the problems began but was told the replacement clutch would resolve this problem, only to find out that that statement is completely false. after 1 replacement, i left the dealership and had the same exact problems only to be told that if it don't show on the diagnostics scan... there is nothing they can do. i could go on but i feel that after reading up on the other complaints, everybody has covered my same exact problems successfully. i feel the dealerships should have told me instead of trying to pass off a turd as gold. if they replace the faulty clutch with the same exact clutch that is faulty, who ever purchases the 2011 fiesta is just a dog chasing his tail. once the warranty is up... then what? am i just supposed to shell out thousands of dollars for the same exact problems? that's unbelievable. i also do not think i should try to sell this car to another person just for them to be stuck in the same bind. i have a conscience and will not do this to someone else. this is on ford and i believe that they should resolve this problem instead of putting it off until every one who owns a fiestas recall is up? that's inconceivable
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle stalled and the power train fault warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 95,000.
While the ac is running and the car is idling the car will surge forward and will then cut off.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving approximately 20 mph, the power train hesitated intermittently without warning. the failure recurred on several occasions. the vehicle was taken to the vehicle where it was diagnosed that the tsm needed to be replaced. the dealer stated that the vehicle could not be repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 15,000.
There were two incidents where car lost all power while travelling at 35 and 50 mph, the check engine light came on, the transmission dashboard indicator flashed from p to d back and forth. when restarting and idling, the engine shuddered. after the first incident (5/29), ford dealership reprogrammed the transmission control module. after the second incident (6/13), two weeks later, the dealership replaced the clutch and the transmission control module (tcm).
While parked with the vehicle running (about 30 minutes in 87 degree weather with the ac on), the transmission felt like it tried to go into drive and rocked forward slightly. i looked at the dash and the check engine light came on. i tested the vehicle and it seemed road worthy enough to try and get home. when driving home and stopped at a stop light, the car's display for park, neutral, reverse, drive, started quickly flashing between drive and park. i could not accelerate the vehicle while this was going on. i placed the vehicle in park, and then met fairly heavy resistance putting it back into drive. after a few seconds of flashing between drive and park, it stopped and i was able to drive again. the same thing happened a few minutes later while i was about to turn into the ford dealership. this time i tried turning off the vehicle to see if that would remedy the issue. i was unable to start the vehicle for a minute or two after because it was acting as if i was in drive (or the fast park / drive flutter) and trying to start it. it's been two days, yet i haven't heard back from the dealership on what this problem is. i did receive a recall notice that spells out the exact symptoms that i had, yet the mechanic has twice said it is very unlikely that the recall part, the tcm or transmission control module (which is back ordered six weeks), is the actual problem.
As i was leaving work pulling out of the road i stepped on the gas and the car stalled. making multiple vehicles come to a screeching stop almost causes multiple wrecks. this was the first time. other times i was in traffic passing people or just driving down the road and the car started to shake and would stall not accelerating. last of all my car would not start at least 3 times in one week due to code p2837 and p2832
Issues with car weak performance, car shuddering, grinding noises in engine, stalling when brake is pressed while in drive gear, car lunging forward and not wanting to engage, not wanting to go after a complete stop, not engaging in reverse, and engine light coming on randomly. almost rear ended by a car behind me came to a screeching stop because of the hesitation to engage in first gear. took the car to a ford dealer and was told that i would have to pay a diagnosis fee. because if it did not test at a certain level of performance the dealer would not pay for the testing or repair. i stated i had a customer satisfaction program 12mo1 letter for the clutch assembly and they said it did not matter. i left the dealer very upset and dissatisfied. drove the car and the symptoms worsened. i got into my car one day and the car would not engage in reverse. luckily on was parked on an incline and coasted out of the parking spot. drove the car to the dealer and they did not have the new clutch assembly in stock. i then asked for a rental until the car was repaired because i felt it was very unsafe to drive my daughter in with the problems it was having, i was told no. so i was forced to drive this car with these problems for a week until the ford dealer received the new clutch assembly. this car is a very dangerous vehicle to have on the road not only for those driving the vehicle but also for those car that drive behind these cars. ford absolutely knows they have a major issue with the dual clutch system. regular clutches are controlled hydraulically but these dual clutches are control electronically by the tcm which has a customer satisfaction program 14m01 that ford has sent out. between the leaking transmissions seal corrupting the clutch and the tcm failing that controls the clutch that is a double jeopardy situation. this is a very dangerous car to have on the roads.
The automatic ford fiesta experiences a very loud grinding/scraping noise as soon as it starts coasting (as soon as the foot is off the accelerator), regardless of whether the break pedal is applied or not. this happens regardless of the speed at which it is travelling. initially took the car to a reputable mechanic who indicated the noise was coming from the transmission and recommended i go to the dealer since the issue might be covered under the car's warranty. the first trip to the dealer for the noise resulted in a replacement of the dual clutch. the second trip to the dealer for the noise resulted in a reprogramming of the pcm/tcm module. the third trip to the dealer for the noise resulted in being told this is "normal". the noise abated after the dual clutch replacement and reprogramming of modules, but quickly returned (within days) and grew louder than before. the noise is so loud that it can wake up neighbors when driven through neighborhoods and makes it difficult to have a conversation in the car.
Car started normally in driveway, but when i put it in reverse to start backing out, noticed the vehicle did not shift and was just sitting in neutral which caused my car to roll back, so i put car in drive and gave it gas to move back forward, but instead kept rolling backwards out into the road (still in neutral). turned car off and heard clicking/grinding sounds. waited a bit and tried to start car, but car would not start, saying that it wasn't in park (it was). after fiddling with the gear shift, i finally got the car to recognize it was in the park position and it started again, but experienced the same issues with not shifting into gear properly. it seems to be extremely random as to when it shifts (and into what gear) as sometimes drive would work, sometimes reverse would work, sometimes neither would work. car is now not starting at all, saying it isn't in park again. still hearing clicking/grinding sounds after i turn the car off for a few seconds. *tr
I reported to sterling mccall on 8/18/14 at 5:50 p.m. the problems that i have been having with my 2011 ford fiesta. i also reported the customer satisfaction program 14m01 .0n 8/20/14at 7:19 a.m. i brought my vehicle into sterling mccall. sterling mccall refused to fix the problem. i reported to legacy ford on 9/5/14at 4:05 p.m. to [xxx]. the problems that i have been having with my2011 ford fiesta. i also reported the customer satisfaction program14m01. on 9/11/14at 6:59 p.m. i brought vehicle into legacy ford. they gave me a rental car at 7:15 p.m. on 9/12/14 legacy ford refused to fix the problem. i filed a case [xxx]-5211951 with the customer relationship center at 2:15p.m. i brought my 2011 ford fiesta to firestone for a diagnostic on 12/4/14. the find was that the article supersedes tsb 11-9-2 to update the issue statement and service procedure. i brought it to legacy ford again on 1/14/15. and legacy ford refused to fix my 2011 ford fiesta again. then on 1/17/15 my car was in a accident. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
The car slips gears which makes it dangerous to drive up any sort of hill. my car has stalled out going up hills and made it dangerous not only for me, but those around me. the car also has an incredible jerky motion when driving that can cause the car to suddenly jerk forward. sometimes when i put my car into drive or reverse the car won't even move. very very dangerous car! ford issued a recall on parts of the transmission about 4 years ago, but this did not fix the problem. i am afraid to drive the car long distances or around town where there are hills. this has been an issue ever since i brought the car.
First incident, i was driving at highway speeds, starting popping out of fifth gear. eventually had to shift into fourth gear to finish the drive home. took it to mechanic to look at, could not find any external cause (i.e. linkage), and the car felt fine during test drive. a few days later, had trouble engaging into fifth gear. figured out how to keep engaged without it popping out of gear, which lasted for a couple day. yesterday (eight days after the first incident), while driving on the highway (approx. 70 mph), heard loud crunching noises, then lost speed. downshifted to fourth gear, and was able to get off the highway. i let the car sit for a while, then tried to continue driving. completely lost fifth gear. car can be driven in first through fourth gear, but just revs in fifth. i've always had a little trouble getting the transmission to engaged correctly in reverse, but never in the rest of the gears. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times without warning. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, who replaced the clutch. four months later, the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the authorized dealer for further inspection and diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
Vehicle suddenly began to alternately surge and experience loss of power while driving, slipping badly between gears. service engine light came on. from a stop, the vehicle nearly stalled when accelerator was depressed. ford dealership stated engine code indicated a bad clutch actuator. this is a cvt automatic transmission and there are several tsbs on this transmission for a variety of problems with the tcm/pcm, clutch plates, clutch actuators, and seals. ford has extended the warranty for these transmissions but is apparently only fixing the obvious problem at time of breakdown instead of replacing all known defective parts. the driving characteristics when one of these parts fail is dangerous, causing the car to shudder, jerk, experience loss of power when shifting, or experiencing sudden throttle surges. all know problem parts should be replaced. a recall is in order. *tr
Ford manufacture service request by mail said to inspect and replace if needed clutch for transmission. ford dealer replaced the clutch and 2 days later the transmission didn't shift smooth. as the transmission shifted the engine revved up another 1,000 rpms before shifting with shuttering noticed. ford technicians said it was safe to drive until they could see it at the shop. 2 days later when the dealer reopened the transmission completely failed and would only shift badly from 1st to 2nd gear. it would not go into 3rd gear. 30 mph max speed. *tr
While driving, vehicle shudders and hesitates when accelerating. lurches forward at times when stopped. bucks while shifting (transmission is their powershift automatic). one time the transmission completely disengaged while driving on the parkway during a snowstorm, leaving in a very dangerous position. had to turn the car off and on several times to get transmission to "reset". at times, when releasing brake from stationary position, car would shudder even before applying the throttle. transmission control module has been changed out twice in the last 15 months of purchasing the car from the dealer as "certified pre-owned". last tcm change, the car had same issues as soon as i left service department. called service adviser as soon as i got home and he said i had to drive the vehicle 1000-12000 miles for the transmission to "get used to the way i drive". needless to say, after 2000 miles, there has been no change in condition. taking vehicle back for the 5th time for continued problems. i have recently inquired about a class action law suit against ford motor company being filed in ca regarding these same issues from other ford fiesta owners.
Got my car new 2012 it is a 2011 had service work mostly oil change tire rotation ect in 12-31-14 had to take it in sounded like it was flying apart when you drive jerked when you tried to take off felt like you were driving on rocky road speed bumps they installed seals for leak clean clutch and perf test drive upload shudder to hotline for clutch appv installed new clutch and seals/repro pcm/tcm and perf trans adaptive relearn perf test drive vec hotline appv paaxr this done ok for a bit took back in oct 2015 same problem jerking and sounds like it falling apart also had recall on door lock went back to get it i am very unhappy with car still have the problem they have to order parts as of today nov 6 2015 had to be towed wont even crank and wont come out of gear dont buy one not sure what can be done but i feel like they should have to buy car back thats a lot of money and its hardley over the 36 000 miles. not a happy buyer the dealership has been very nice but says that they dont know how to fix the problem but the makers wont tell you that so sorry car ford buy them back .
2011 ford fiesta bought at garber used cars in saginaw michigan. i have had my car worked on for the recall for t e transmission rings. they told me they needed to also change out the clutch. prior to this i spent 1200 dollars on the transmission part they said wasn't covered by a recall. the engine light started coming on a few days ago. they told me it was the catalytic converter. 650 to replace, and yesterday my car refused to start...the safety won't unlock and my car can't go into any gear but park. i had to have it towed...still waiting for the clutch and converter to come in so it can be repaired. when it runs it is a good ride. but the car has cost me all sorts of money i really cant afford to pay out. i will say if ford doesn't come through and take responsibility for this car and fix the issues the company will lose my business forever.i am angry and disappointed and tired of paying for something that is so undependable. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving at various speeds and attempting to stop, the vehicle would shudder and make an abnormal noise. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed. the contact stated that the vehicle was serviced under a manufacturer's satisfaction recall for the power train, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was brought back to the dealer where the software was updated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.
Due to a transmission design flaw, the car will shudder when the gears shift from low to high. the car was diagnosed at tuttle click ford in irvine, ca. on 12/11/2014 and 4/14/15. the transmission of the car continues to shudder during motion on city streets and highways. i have a copy of each invoice for supporting documents.
After driving and then parking the ford fiesta 2011 for a short dinner and the coming back to the car. i found that the car was not able to be started and it was stuck on the park position. the auto had to be towed to a ford dealership. there they found out that it was the transmission.they performed fsa 14m01 plus other bulletins that pertained to those transmission problems that the ford claims, but to no avail the problem has migrated within the transmission and it seems that they cant fix. it has been in the shop too long and it costing too much money in auto rentals and agony. i believe that the ford should owned up to it and completed changed the transmission. now it does not take reverse. *js
Drove car on highway this morning on way to work and car would not accelerate or go. the only thing moving was the rpm's. i had to pull over on the highway and turn the car off. after the restart, the car was able to accelerate but now it was shifting badly in and out of gears. my work was only right around the corner so i was able to make it in. i went on a lunch break to test drive it around the block and it was giving me the same problem. shifting out of 4th gear into 3rd for no reason. it's not even drivable. i have already had this car in the shop 2 times for transmission issues. both times took weeks to get my car back, and i've only owned this car for a year and a half. this will be the 3rd time it's going into the shop, and now it's starting to risk my safety in the process. i have a 1 year old as well so i am not happy about this! something needs to be done about the safety issues of these cars and their transmissions. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving at 50 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact was able to restart the vehicle. the engine warning light illuminated and service engine, transmission soon was displayed across the message board. the vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. the failure recurred on numerous occasions. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was invalid. the failure mileage was 6,000. ma 10/6 the dealer reprogrammed the transmission. updated 10/15/15*jb
The transmission experiences excessive shuddering and jerking with acceleration, severe rattling and grinding noises, to complete loss of response with the accelerator. this is every time it is driven. it has supposedly been repaired on ford 5 times now, however this time they will not cover it. this is a danger to myself, my family and anyone else on the road when you can not control acceleration/deceleration. this has been ongoing since 11/2014.
In november of 2014 i received my recall notice on my 2011 ford fiesta about a 'shuttering' issue within the motor/transmission. since this time, my car has gone back every 3 months to have the same issue repaired. this will be transmission number 4 within 1 year. i was already told by the dealership that my car cannot be repaired. ford cannot fix the issue. the dealership has been great, they have been honest with me from the start. they have advised that they will continue to try and fix the car under warranty until it runs out. the 2012 fiestas do not have the same motor or transmission thus, the issue is fixed. i called my finance company and asked them if i can return the car since the car cannot be repaired. i was advised i had to go through ford and have them start the paperwork. i was further advised that the paperwork has to be coded to reflex the car cannot be repaired, therefore it is coded differently to reflect on my credit report as a voluntary repossession due to unrepairable vs just non-pay. i called fords customer relation team 1-800-392-3673 options 1,4 &5. i spoke with renee who advised i had to go to ford credit to get the paperwork. renee advised me my car is too old for them to buy back (my car is 4 years old). she further advised the number as 800-727-7000. she advised they would be able to help me. i called ford credit and spoke with chad who advised me he could not help me since all i want to do is return my car and have the paperwork coded that it is being returned because the car cannot be repaired. i did not do anything wrong, i pay for my car each month and even for the months when my car is at the garage. i want to return the car and have my credit score not affected by the return.
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the overdrive and grade assist warning lights illuminated. the contact also stated that the speed decelerated to approximately 5 mph and suddenly functioned as normal. the vehicle stalled and was restarted. the failure recurred after restarting the vehicle. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 50,000.
I was pulling out of a county park after dark, and was trying to gauge the distance of an incoming car, to determine whether or not i had time to pull out. in order to see better, i lightly pressed the accelerator, but instead of slowly inching forward a few inches or a foot, my car leapt out into the path of the oncoming car and then stopped. i tried to throw the car in reverse, but there wasn't time to react. the other driver tried to slow down and swerve to avoid me, but was unable to avoid hitting my door. me, my three children, and the driver of the other car were all taken to the hospital by ambulance. the children were not admitted, as they only had a few bruises, but the other driver and i were both admitted and subsequently released that same night. i received a citation for failing to yield, which i plan on contesting. my car has leapt out into a cross-street like that after stopping for stop signs several times, but always to a lesser extent, and never on a busy street. it always takes several seconds after this occurs for the accelerator to function again, which is why i tried to throw my car in reverse instead of driving forward. i have also had problems with my transmission shuddering profusely upon excellerating after stops. i received a notice from ford dated august 2014, stating that they were extending the warranty on my clutch and transmission input shaft seals, and transmission software calibration to 7 years or 100,000 miles, because of these types of problems, and urging me to have them repaired if experiencing shuddering. because of my husband's work schedule, we had not gotten around to having the seals replaced yet as reccomended. i feel that the transmission issues that i had been having with my car, are directly responsible for my collision, and could easily have resulted in the deaths of 5 people. *tr
While driving the vehicle's transmission began to act up. i was not able to drive over 30 mph. the transmission would slip while driving. *tr
Issues with the transmission since i bought the car sputters dies wont start shifts into neutral on its own dangerous car its not safe ford knows and wont fix it. i have had the battery changed to fix the issue to no avail and the shift solenoid to no avail dealer cant fix it what can be done to make the car safe. *tr
This car has had numerous visits to the dealer for transmission issues including the most recent aprox. two months ago. the car will shudder and buck while shifting and makes a horrendous noise while driving. in this particular incident the car came to a busy stop sign where 2 highways cross and then when the accelerator was depressed the car moved a few feet to the center of the intersection and then wouldn't move anymore. it just revved the engine like it was in neutral. after aprox. 20-30 seconds it finally engaged the transmission and then continued to drive. took to the dealer and they said they fixed it (again, 3rd time now). these cars are a liability and a accident waiting to happen when they cannot accelerate without the transmission slipping and sputtering. *tr
Transmission repaired under recall. now car will not start, no lights, radio. battery checked and charged-not issue. *tr
Driver side rear passenger door opened while driving today. it can't close shut and can't lock. had to secure moving straps to both rear seat armrests to keep door from opening. after the seat belt recall, transmission seal recall and this, what next? i commute over 100 miles daily i don't feel safe. *tr
My ford fiestas transmission is officially broke. the car's trannie was officially looked at by three transmission specialists, all baffled to why this car is dealing with this with such few miles. i've talked with numerous representatives of ford, who've assured me that bad things just happen and there's nothing they will do. this is a terrible problem that needs to be addressed. *tr
I purchased a ford fiesta 2011 in july 2014. within a few weeks i noticed problems with the car jerking and hesitating and lurching forward but as a check engine light was on, i assumed it was because of the faulty catalytic converter, which was later replaced in sep 2014. still, the grinding noise, jerks and hesitation continued. i travel on the garden state parkway which is always heavily congested during peak hours and the car jerking forward put me at risk for an accident. also, the brakes sometimes acted too slow but i don't know if this is a result of the transmission issues or not. it wasn't until earlier last month that i read about the inherent design flaw in the transmission. currently, my car is at the dealership awaiting repairs to the transmission.
My daughter was driving down a major interstate at 70 mph and when she slowed down for slower traffic and the car stopped. the motor shutoff and coasted to a stop (she said it jolted to a stop in about 20 feet). the traffic was very heavy so she tried to get to the shoulder but couldn't make it, she turned on her hazards and put the car in neutral and tried to restart (didn't restart) then put it into park to restart (didn't restart) so then tried to take it out of park to move the car (pushing to the shoulder) but because of the way the system is designed the car wouldn't come out of park. she even tried to release the transmission manually but because there was no power to the solenoids, it would not release and so left the car in the middle of the freeway and called the police and tow truck. i have had this car in multiple times for a flash upgrade but still does the stumbling and hesitation. this car has also had the water pump replaced as well as minor fit and finish *tr
This car has been nothing but trouble since i bought it. it has been in the shop for transmission issues for the last two weeks. not to mention it was in the shop for two months after only having it for ten days. ford had the clutch on back order and it took about two months for the part to come in. it jerks viciously and i have to floor the gas to get up a hill. there are times when the car sticks in gear and won't shift and when it finally does it jerks forward and i'm afraid i'm going to rear end someone. the ford technician is telling me he can't exactly point out what the issue is and is having to get assistance from outside first techs and corporate. it's a safety issue and ford needs to recall this car instead of just extending the warranty on the defective transmission. *tr
Driving on the interstate and my car would not accelerate .the clutch which is a auto shift clutch would not disengage had to pull over between on ramp and flowing traffic. restarted car a couple of times and finna lol worked ok. i called my dealership service dept. and they said to take it to nearest ford service dept..codes were shift fork position circuit p2832 p2877clutch b disengaging slow and shift forka position circuit range/performance permanent.this could be a dangerous issue i'm glad was driving and not my daughter. *tr
I own a 2011 ford fiesta. the car has left me stranded on the side of the road 4 times. 3 out of the 4 times i broke down i was right in the middle of rush hour traffic in new orleans! not good! i could have been killed, or killed someone else. twice i've had to wait on the side of the interstate for 2.5 hours waiting for a tow truck when i was supposed to pick up my 11 year old from camp. i've missed work, my son has been stranded, and i just do not feel safe in this car. it's been in the shop 4 times now and they've worked on it 3 times. the first time it broke down i brought it to ford and they kept it for one day but they didn't get to work on it because i was having problems with my extended warranted, which is through nissan. the 2nd time i was told the clutch went out in the dual transmission due to transmission fluid leaking on a component in the car. they took my transmission out, replaced the clutch, accidentally busted out my windshield in the process, then gave the car back. not too long after i got it back, it broke down again. they said it was the computer that operates the transmission. they did updates on the computer and gave it back to me. the very next day it broke down again and is now sitting back at ford in slidell. at this point i don't even think they know what to do with it. i then file a complaint with ford and they say there's nothing they can do? so i'm just stuck with this broken car from ford that is only a few years old? my son was with me one of the times that i broke down - the poor thing was scared half to death! i can't keep missing work - what am i supposed to do? all i see online is people with lawsuits against ford because of the transmission in these things... why isn't this a recall yet? it is definitely dangerous! *tr
