We have classified the 283 complaints from 2011 Ford Fiesta about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION 18 CLUTCH ASSEMBLY 2

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2011 Ford Fiesta

Car makes a loud "grinding" sound coming from the transmission area. also, the car started to "jerk" and/or "lunge" around as you either come to a stop or accelerate from a stop.

Transmission emits grinding noise at speeds around 30mph-40mph. looked under the car and the transmission fluid is leaking into the bell housing.

I purchased a new, unused 2011 ford fiesta in february of 2011. it is an automatic with fewer than 70,000 miles and, since ownership, i have experienced recurring stuttering issues during acceleration (on city streets, highway, moving straight and while turning) that are clearly associated with the transmission while shifting gears. i have already had the vehicle with two different ford dealership mechanics on numerous occasions which has resulted in clutch and clutch seal replacements. additionally, i have been told the vehicle's computer has been "reprogrammed" with the understanding that it alters the transmission to prevent the issue from occurring. still, the problem persists. this ongoing issue has me completely fed up with ford and the product i have purchased. the vehicle is faulty beyond belief and is one that has caused my family great concern in ensuring we have safe and reliable transportation on a daily basis. *tr

The car will shake when gas is pressed and does not have much power driving feels like it will die while driving transmission warning light on. *tr

Ford transmission, i recently purchased a 2011 ford fiesta after which finding out about the customer satisfaction repairs for the transmission seals, and clutch as well as the door latches and other issues. i brought the car into 2 different dealers for the repairs, the one dealing with the repair of the clutch and seals i have had to bring it into twice for the issues regarding it. before the dealer repaired the clutch and seals my car had a shudder where it would jerk when down shifting coming off the highway for example or up shifting when making turns across a lane. after i got it back it seemed okay but now less then 3 months later it is happening again and in addition there is a whining noise coming from the transmission. i brought the car into the dealership again today after several long conversations with ford corporate and was called and told it is being caused by the "main shaft bearing" which they will not cover and is asking for $1500.00 to repair. this issue was caused by ford producing faulty parts used in the 2011 ford fiestas, as reports from many online sources have stated, this issue caused by ford is not becoming a safety issue for me and my family as the acceleration and deceleration cause a jerking pause and has even shut down on my in the middle of the road. i live in ohio where snow and ice occur with this issue the life of my family and i is as stake as on coming traffic can not stop in time when this shuddering occurs and when i am able to move the jerking can cause loss of control of the vehicle.

The vehicle was purchased brand new. we have already taken it to ford repair shops a number of times for replacement parts, repairs, recalls, etc. recently, the vehicle would not start (among other continuing problems with shaking while braking, jerking when shifting gears--both of which we've already had worked on several times) so we had it taken to a ford dealer near where we live. we found out the problem is with the transmission control module. it turns out that ford has a csp for this problem. however, we did not know about it and by the time we started having problems, we were past the mileage for the warranty coverage. i am extremely displeased with this vehicle and the customer service we have received. i believe it is bias and discriminatory to repair problems you know about only if they are on vehicles with mileage under 150,000. if there is a known problem. ford should fix it and fix it for everyone, not just people who do not drive their vehicle frequently. this car has had known transmission problems and numerous recalls already. the problem is, every time we have it worked on, it never fixes it completely. *tr

While driving at highway speeds in 3rd and 5th gears there was a loud whining noise coming from the 5 speed transmission. the noise will increase or decrease with the throttle and goes away when in neutral. while traveling at approximately 65 mph and with the cruise control on the car popped out of 5th gear without warning and i was not able to shift back into 5th gear. all other gears including reverse work fine however when the shifter is placed into the 5th gear position the transmission doesn't engage. i have read numerous complaints of the same problem but not.sure as to the outcome. *tr

Transmission is jerking, specially coming to the stop, gears are slipping, car was in the dealership service center several times through the years to address this issue, but it never been corrected. engine and transmission warning lights come on constantly, now the engine is overheating and the dealership is unable to fix. this car is defective and unsafe to drive. i purchased this car new from autonation and had it serviced/maintained by their certified service department, i had problems with the transmission from the beginning and was complaining several times, but it never was addressed and/or fixed

Ive taken my car to the dealership around 4 times for the same problem. the fourth being the worst. the car will shudder, shake, over rev, low power when taking off and lack of powersteering and brakes. its had its tcm reprogrammed to no avail! clutch has been replaced to no avail. third time it stared again and had to get the car reprogrammed again. the last time the car would not drive over 30 mph without shaking shuddering and trying to find the right gear. couple of times the car stopped while driving!! dealership replaced the tcm .on about the fourth time in. my wife drives our kids to school in this car and i have not confidence in its ability to sustain and deliver my family safely to their destinatation. im currently making payments and have also tried to talk to ford about a buy back or replacement and they said i don't meet or qualify for the california lemon law. they had pulled my records at the dealership to verify the car status. all actions that the car displayed and others have encountered have happened when pulling away to accelerate. a couple of my complaints on the service record was not recorded. i think the first and the last ones were however.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while driving 30 mph, the transmission slipped out of gear and the shift lever locked into position and would not move. the check engine, service engine soon, and traction control warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but there were no failure codes. the failure recurred twice. the failure mileage was 91,147.

Our 2011 ford fiesta started experiencing problems while driving. it was not shifting properly and running really jagged at times. also the check engine/transmission light came on. on wednesday september 14, 2016 i took in the car to our local ford dealer colley ford in glendora,ca. they told me it was probably the transmission control module that had to be programmed. i called the next day and they told me it needed a new transmission control module and they would have to order one. we went in on sept 26, 2016 and they said they had not received the part yet. its been almost two weeks and we have not had the car because ford hasn't delivered the part to the dealership.

The transmission will stop engaging while driving the motor rpms go up and you loose power to the wheels causing traffic to run into the back or run over you .getting onto the highway merged into traffic got up to speed than all of the sudden motor revved up and lost speed rapidly almost got run over by tractor trailer had to pull off onto shoulder of the highway ,then the car would not go over 30 mph this has happened 3 times .the first time ford said it was the timing of motor .this has happened twice after that . i cant even drive be cause im afraid of killing me and my family.this transmission has a definite and they wont acknowledge .they did send me a recall for the tcm but they told me it had nothing to do with the transmission issue i have not driven the car due to safety and fear of hurting myself or someone else. *tr

My car had the transmission control module reprogrammed on 06/06/16 and is having the same issue as we speak 8/24/16. the car jerks, doesn't accelerate properly and is doing what it wants, very unsafe as it doesn't want to shift and jolts when it does. it's almost like its stuck in gear. this car has been nothing but problems and i'm irritated that this was repaired 2 months ago and the problem clearly isn't fixed. i'm pregnant and am very dissapointed that ford can allow a problem like this to continue without proper resolution and safety for its customers.

First time i had an issue vehicle was in motion would not accelerate over 40 mph. took to dealership no codes found. after about a week vehicle was parked put into reverse the motor would rev up but it would not move, put into pare turned off waited a little bit car would then go but with very little power couldn't accelerate over 40 mph again. returned to dealership this time they replaced the clutch assemblies and updated the computer. i will be returning tomorrow for the third time in a month. the car only has 77,000 miles on it.

Unable to get car out of park, when i did, coming out of a parking lot, it stalled in middle of a busy street, had no power, transmission, stability and check engine light came on, after pushing on the gas peddle a few times, it finally, had enough power to drive it home.

To whom it may concern, my name is [xxx] and i am writing this complaint about a 2011 ford fiesta se i purchased at a private dealer on july 1, 2016. the car started running very strange after a week i experience very ruff rides. so i called ford company in mcdonough ga. the person i talked to said that it was on recall and for me to bring it in, i did. they kept it over night to update the transmission and other problems causing me to pay for a rental which i felt should have been paid by the dealer or ford motor company. i did ask the dealer if they knew the car was on recall and they said no! i ask question after question, the owner even drove the car himself and said that<s the way the car runs. i also have problems with the door locks, speed, speeding up on it<s own, transmission, hesitation, using more gas, and sounds ruff when trans get very hot. i now have to take it back on 9-19, 2016 i guess for more testing. i have notified the dealership about this. i am very stressed about this because i have a loan for $7000+ financed. is there any help out there to get this rectified this problem. i need my car for transportation. which me luck. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Vehicle has been one of many thousands to experience severe transmission issues, which have now become serious safety concerns due to ford's inability to provide a solution. this 2011 fiesta with automatic transmission was purchased new and had the sluggish feeling early on. dealer said it was a "smart engine" and would have to learn driver's driving habits. the problem persisted and got considerably worse around 9k miles....took it in, failed transmissions test...new clutch put it. thought it was fine until it started doing the same thing...failed test...no parts available- had to wait on parts. this is about the 5th or 6th time going through this process, except that now the problem is the most severe it's ever been (even with the a new clutch put in last week and being told it was "fixed'). car won't start at times, then when it does, it drives very sluggish - or won't come out of low gear (revs very high)....of if you get it into higher gear, it will suddenly slip out of it back down to low - very high rpms and very loud. it is hard to accelarate and know that it's going to go - this is especially troubling at an intersection making a left turn, on the highway with higher speed traffic etc. many others have experienced this same problem very severely. class action suit in ca now-- and one just started in australia. same problems. ford has continued to sell these cars for years, knowing that this problem is there- their only solution being to wait for parts and then get it "repaired" - except it is being repaired with parts that are no better and seem to be far worse than early on. it is scary to drive and feel safe - yet one has to get to work, etc. ford is digging their heels in and still offering no remedy, knowing about these very unsafe situations that drivers are being put in. please scan the internet regarding the many people who have had serious problems.

I have been dealing with transmission issues since i bought the vehicle. the first time it happened i was doing 50 mph and it shifted out of gear. this was quite disturbing. i took it in to ford and they told me it just needed the program updated. then during the winter it wouldn't go into gear at all, not forward, reverse or anything. once again i took it in and they said it was the programming. they programed it again. so back in feb it happened again, and i did then receive a letter stating there was some issues, so i was given a 100,000 mile warranty on fixing the issue. well i told them to replace the tcm, but once again they love to reprogram. so my oldest son is in need of a vehicle and he was driving it up in madison wisconsin on the most crazy freeway and it decided to lose the power doing more than 50 mph. my son was so stressed and was almost hit by a semi. i have had it with the reprogramming. i have emails and calls put into ford and i am not asking for anything but a fix or to trade in and start over. they don't want to do anything for us at all. i guess they want someone to die first before they fix anything.

Tl* the contact owned a 2011 ford fiesta. while making turns at low speeds, the vehicle experienced hesitation and independent shifting. the failure occurred without warning. the vehicle was taken to kovatch ford (423 w catawissa st, nesquehoning, pa), but was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer informed the contact of a 'silent recall' for the transmission. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 59,582. *tt

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. the contact stated that the vehicle would not accelerate in reverse. the vehicle was shifted into drive, but there was still no acceleration. the vehicle accelerated afterwards to approximately 30 mph and grinding noises were present. the vehicle felt as if it were struggling to engage into gear. the vehicle was towed to the dealer, but they could not duplicate the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was invalid. the approximate failure mileage was 52,000. updated 08/16/16*lj the consumer stated she decelerated, the vehicle lurched and bucked as if it were about to stall. the consumer stated a computer was replaced. updated 08/30/016.*jb

Driving vehicle on expressway and vehicle just cut off. been complaining to ford since i purchased vehicle about 2 years now, took it in for repairs several time. was told that the problem is corrected but it keeps doing the same thing. it will roll back when i stop at a light or stop sign. this is dangerous. this time i was lucky nothing serious happened. next time i might not be.

Hesitation, jerking and clutch grinding noises. went to make a left hand turn and my car hesitated on acceleration causing a near fatal accident from an on coming car. luckily the oncoming car was able to slow down enough to avoid hitting my passenger side where my daughter was sitting. i have been experiencing hesitation, severe jerking and grinding of the clutch the entire weekend.

Vehichle has been returned to a ford dealer numerous times for transmission issues. has had all updates completed as required by the dealer, yet continue to have transmission issues. the vehicle shudders and hesitates while attempting to shift gears (it is an automatic transmission). this occurs at low speeds as well as higher speeds. feel it may be a risk for causing an accident. the dealer says there is nothing more they can do.

From a stand still up until speed, every gear shift is meet with a shudder and feels like it slips while the transmission chages gear. just recently the car started to jerk and stutter and i barely made it home. the rpms rise and dip and is undriveable. it has been brought in for transmission module reprogramming and inspection of transmission fluids. i thought in the past that the shaking and stuttering was normal, according to ford that is normal. it's not that when my car started jerking and sputtering that i realize something is very wrong.ford did give me an extended warranty for up to 70k miles. also,i notice that when the surface is wet and i break gradually on a wet surface ie,painted street dividers, painted street signs or oil ,abs will break the vehicle, the vehicle will lock up causing it to slide and then when i get on the gas pedal the car will be unresponsive to my gas pedal input. basically, i wouldn't be able to get out of hands way because the cars power to move for 2-3seconds is non existent.

My cars transmission jerks, powers down, hesitates. i have taking it back to the dealer several times and was told there is nothing wrong, one time i had a computer update. i had a lot of close calls due to the way this car operates. april 2015 my luck ran out. evening traffic was heavy and sitting at a red light and when it turned green the car did the hesitation and this time my daughter was in a head on collision and the car is a total loss. my daughter had a neck injury and second degree burns to her arms.

About 3 months after buying this used fiesta, castro in milsboro, de found a leak under the motor. since i wasn't loosing oil the ford dealersip didn't think it was a major issue. in august of 2015 reverse slipped out 5 times in 4 weeks. ford dealer in lewes, de finally looked into problem and found the transmission seal had blown causing fluid to get onto clutches and throw-out bearing. two weeks later it was finally fixed. now i'm having issues with hard shfting, and stalling between gears. the dealership in georgetown, de checked and stated the transmission was "within ford peramiters". ford customer support stated "if the problem escalates to please call us back" so the car still is shifting badly at this powing.

Takata recall when i stop at a red light, and then try to go when it turns green, 2 out of three times there is no forward gear. then i have to turn on the 4way flashers, turn the key off and on again, then i can go forward. this is very dangerous in heavy traffic. other times the car won't go into neutral when coming to a stop light, and wants to push you into the car in front of you, or thru the light! i've had it to the dealer probably 5 times, never ever helped. i tell the dealer every time i go there that the car is gonna kill me! i won't lend to anybody. i'm very uncomfortable driving my grandchildren in this car.

My daughter drives this car. car stutters when driving, idle goes up to 3k, overheat icon came on, idle goes high but car decelerates , car bucks like a bronco. ford charged us over $500 to replace a cooling fan, did 3 software upgrades, said they replaced the transmission control module, same issues repeated except for the overheat icon, idle still went high and car stutters, bucks, again the trans stopped propelling the car. now they say it's the throttle body and want over $800 !! to repair it. the 2011 ford fusion has a similar problem and is now covered for free under a customer satisfaction program, all of the windows in the car are hard to raise, you have to manually push them up while holding the up button. the throttle issue is new but why didn't those codes turn up previously when the car exhibited the same symptoms? imo this is a poorly manufactured vehicle. only 79k miles and sooooo many problems.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. while at a stop, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. the contact attempted to shift into park, but the gear shifter failed to shift out of drive. the contact had to restart the vehicle in order to shift into park and resume normal function. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

On several occasions the vehicle has experienced decreased acceleration as well as delayed acceleration. since june of 2011 to january 2016 i have had the clutch replaced 8 or 9 times with the power train module being reprogrammed. the problem still persists. now jan. 18th 2016 the car is experiencing a transmission malfunction. it will not accelerate over 10 miles an hour. rendering the vehicle undrivable. i can't seem to get help from ford or sunstate ford in which the vehicle was purchased. everytime they service the vehicle they state shuddering and the acceleration issues are normal functions of the vehicle. however each time they have replace the clutch or reprogrammed computers associated with the transmission. at the intersection of 441 and david walker dr in eustis fl we experienced the transmission malfunction leaving us in the middle of traffic trying to manuever at 10 miles an hour.

Transmission studders and hesitates in lower gears when turning or pulling up to parking area slowly. transmission has been serviced by ford 3 times but we are now waiting 8-12 weeks for another set of clutches mean while it is getting worse to drive.

My car will not go in gear. i took it to ford on 2/2/15 because my car was stalling when i put it in gear they ran test and said my car was fine.. it not running.

Car at random times refuses to go into any gear. this is the dual clutch automatic transmission. most often happens after starting the car when the shift lever is moved into a gear the transmission remains in netural. you can over reve the engine no foot on the brake no gear engages. a few time while driving the transmissions goes into netural. so far i've been able to coast off of the limited access road onto a side street when that has happened. a few times the car has refused to go back into gear after coming to a stop at a stop sign or stop light. you can resolve the issue by turning off the car and restarting it. sometimes it takes multiple restarts before you can get the transmission to shift out of netural. a few times the car has refused to start, i think the tcu refuses to put the transmission into netural at that point to allow it to start. when that happens i have had to wait upwards of fifteen minutes before the car can be started and driven. the dealer claims they can't do anything since they cant duplicate the problem while the car is in the shop. i've had the few recall notices related to the transmission done. i feel this care is not safe to take on a major highway but can't afford to purchase another vehicle at this time. i see many other owners reporting the same problems but ford has either been unable to find a fix or it has been to expensive for then to want to implement. majority of times i've experienced this has been in parking lots but other times has been on residential streets(stop signs) or limited access 35-40mph roads while driving or trying to drive away from a stop light. i fear the day it happens on a highway. i'm listing this past monday as the date since it was the most recent incident. this has been happening for several years now and yet ford refuses to do anything about it. i stated ) as the most recent.

Since new the car's transmission has had lurching and jerking issues when shifting that have progressively gotten worse. multiple times the car has lurched and stalled missing the next gear and almost caused us to get side swiped while making a turn. we were left stranded and had to replace the control module which ford eventually paid for. now after getting a trans malfunction warning the ford dealer is saying we need a new clutch (the car is an automatic...that is what we paid for). the clutch has only worn out because of the excessive lurching and missing gears cause by the poor design despite several failed attempts to have the issue fixed by the dealer. not being able to accelerate when making a left turn or pulling onto a roadway or merging onto a highway is a safety issue. please hold ford accountable. i don't think the car is safe because that happens all the time and the dealer can't seem to fix it. in fact i wont let my wife drive the car anymore because i think an accident is inevitable. we have had constant transmission issues since new. ford denied an problem when the car was new and having these issues. ford is willfully putting its paying customers at great risk physically and financially. we have records of repeatedly bringing this car in for repair. ford (i believe intentionally) did not document my wife's complaints or that they even looked at the car when it was newer and they kept saying my wife was crazy and there was no problem. turns out they were wrong and there have been major problems from the start and we all know that now. *js

Clutch shudder. after having a replacement clutch assembly installed 12,000 miles ago, the clutch shudder, shaking, delayed acceleration, and jerkiness have returned. assembly was reinspected at dealership, confirming that the replacement clutch assembly also has the failure symptoms. a new assembly is being ordered

Transmission control module recall: after having the "tcm" software updated in september, the transmission malfunction light still comes on when my car will not switch gears. one day driving down the interstate, my car was going 65 mph and was not switching gears. after having it towed to the nearest ford dealership, my car was worked on and the transmission control module was finally replaced. less than a week later, my car would not accelerate or switch gears while driving up a hill. my car began to move backwards since it would not accelerate. my car was rolling backwards down a hill into oncoming traffic. the ford dealership does not seem to be concerned and assured me the software needed to be updated again after it was updated less than a week ago. this is something that i find to be dangerous if the car will not switch gears. the first time the car was taken to a ford dealership, i was told that the transmission control module part itself was on backorder and could not be replaced for at least a year. three months later when it was towed to a different ford dealership, they had one readily available and it was replaced within two days and the software updated accompanied the service event. less than a week later my car is in limp mode and will barely accelerate to get me safely off the road. this issue is much bigger than it seems and ford does not seem to have the urgency to fix a dangerous issue for their customers. upon calling ford to have my vehicle looked at, it was about a 5 day wait and they could not provide me with a rental or loaner car.

I have a 2011 ford fiesta, my vehicle has a number of recalls out. (ford recall number 15s16, field service action number 14m01 and 14m02). i had contacted the dealer november of 2015, they told me that they would contact me when parts were available. i have heard nothing for a year now. there are two recalls out having to do with the transmission.( transmission clutch shudder/transmission input shaft seal warranty extension and transmission control module extended warranty coverage). i have had my father who is a mechanic tell me that is why my transmission is going out. i have three children and the car is barely shifting correctly and i feel is unsafe to drive but being my only form of transportation i am forced to do so. i need something done, i feel that i shouldn't have to pay for a new transmission when if the recalls were performed in a timely manner i would not have any issues at all. please help me resolve this issue. i am already paying so much on this car and getting no where with what i own due to all my payment going to interest. i cannot go without a vehicle. please help! *tr

Vehicle wont go into gear. engine starts fine, but transmission will not engage. backed out of garage, put car into drive, and nothing. car will not engage in r or d. had it towed to dealer. transmission control module replaced but car still not running correctly, per dealer. dealer says car needs a new transmission. ford says i'm 1450 miles and 60 days over the 60k/5 yr warranty so no assistance with paying for repairs. i've seem no indication from all these posts that a transmission replacement has fixed the vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford fiesta. the contact stated that while reversing, there was an abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering gear failed but the vehicle was drivable. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure recurred. in addition, the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 15v246000 (latches/locks/linkages) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the manufacturer notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 31,800. vin tool confirms parts not available. update 01/15/16 ma updated 2/4/16 *cn the consumer states the transmission will not go forward or reverse. *tr

This is an update to a previous complaint with my car. previously the car gave out in the hills of a sf. the car said it had a problem with the transmission and would not give any propulsion risking going backward on a hill. the dealer updated the software. they said this was the fix. they said after 1000 miles it should fix itself. since then the car has been running much more sluggish. it forces itself on accelerating. it jerks much more excessively when i take off the gas. it jerks much more when i brake and i hear the metal grinding and clanking together. it was a really bad software update. 1000 passed and we ran into another problem. i had the car parked in the house. tried to turn car back on and would not turn on. i heard clicking noise as if the battery was dead. i had dome lights on for a few minutes but nothing excessive. shouldn't die out like that. tried several times to turn it on and nothing. started to call roadside assistance for backup. i then removed the car charger i had plugged in and tried again. the car sputtered on and starting giving me notifications. a service and check engine light. also the display said that there was a "transmission malfunction" and to service it now. the engine was really forcing itself as i heard it. rpm was high even going slow. car still sputters on after a few tries. checked the codes through obd2. car was throwing p0606. said that it was ecm/pcm processor problem. i have no idea what is wrong with this car. i feel like its completely falling apart all around. horrible car with too many issues!!!! this car needs a massive recall on it!!! it is unequivocally unsafe and unfit for the road!

After purchasing this vehicle in 2012, i experienced shaking while shifting, shuttering noises and idling in low gears. several months after purchase, i contacted the dealership and i was told that oil was leaking onto my clutch. covered under warranty, they replaced the flexplate and seals and reinstalled the transmission. i continued to experience shuttering, shaking and troublesome shifting but was reassured by the dealership that this experience was normal for this vehicle and its transmission and i need not be concerned. this week, while using cruise control at about 60 mph on a busy highway during rush hour, i heard what sounded like metal parts breaking under my left foot following by grinding noises. i pulled the car to the side of the highway safely but had to apply the e-brake because the car rolled forward in park and refused to accelerate in drive. i also saw messages on the computer monitor that read "hillside start assist" and "transmission ok." i called roadside assistance and after leaking what appeared to be oil all over the bed of the tow truck, the car has been taken to a ford dealership. i have not yet received a diagnosis for the problem. the service adviser told me that he believes the issue is the traction control module. it should also be noted that two months ago, this same service adviser completed a tcm update following a letter i received from ford this year to have this update applied. ford motor company and all of their affiliated dealerships have endangered the lives and well-being of their customers and are providing misleading information about their vehicles.

Loud noise and car seemed to be dragging and grinding.. like wheels wouldn't turn when i had driven 3 miles on a regular streett doing 45 mph .towed to dealer....dealer said it was the transmission, they replaced it on thur oct 22, on tues october 27, it went out again as i was driving home, same noises and complaint.. it only had 45 miles on it since the new transmission was put in 5 days previously.they aren't sure whats wrong..scared to drive the car..im 65 years old,

The transmission in my fiesta has had the same issue for many months. sluggish on acceleration, jerking motions while cornering, rough shifting, disengagement and grinding noises from the assembly. i have taken it to the dealer numerous times to be looked at. on some occasions they have performed parts replacements, other times they have reprogrammed the cpu. in every case the problem persists. there are instances when the dealer can replicate the problem and others where they cannot. i am very concerned about driving this vehicle as the powertrain is unstable. the vehicle currently has 60,000 miles on the odometer and is 5 years old. the problems have been occurring for several years. the date referenced below is the last date the problem occurred.

The transmission is very sluggish between shifts of first and second gear. the car also doesn't always downshift when the brakes are applied. had a recall notice from ford for a software update to the tcm. took in for service. no change. dealer says it's just the way that transmissions works. current situation is dangerous.

Currently driving my car with a bad clutch assembly because the part is on back order because of a customer satisfaction bulletin from ford motor company. driving today and the vehicle in front of me came to an abrupt stop. i came within an inch of rear ending the vehicle because when i put my brakes on my cars the clutch would not do downshift to stop my car. had to steer to the right onto curb to avoid hitting the car in front of me, came within an inch of hitting the car. the dealer service department told me putting in a new clutch will not fix the problem because they are putting in the same defective part. this is my second clutch assembly within 7,000 miles.

My car has been into the dealer multiple times regarding the transmission shudder. most recently when i received it back from the dealer the car came out of gear at 40mph almost causing a wreck. i took it back to the dealer. they said it's something internal with the transmission but they refuse to fix it. now it doesn't want to come to a stop. it feels like it is searching for a gear the entire time you are driving it. i am scared to drive this car.

I bought a used 2011 ford fiesta in december of 2014. within a couple of weeks i began to experience excessive shuddering, knocking, banging noises. excessive shaking, stuttering. i have taken it to my ford service department and all they said is ford wont do anything until the car breaks down or fails to move at all. and when that does happen, all corporate ford will do is replace the clutch and they even said that wont be a long-term fix because it will always happen again and again.. i am really fearful of getting into a serious accident with this lemon... i am hoping but not holding my breath on ford taking responsibility for this.. until the nhtsa makes them do something about it.

Took my car in for a recall on the trans/clutch (my car is automatic) . less than 3 months later the trans was grinding hard, slipping and stalling while driving. i took it back in. its been about 3 months and my trans is starting to act up again. ford says there is nothing they can do about it because its acting like they knew it was going to. that ford sold a bad trans and its the "characteristics" of the trans.

After being in park at a gas station, i go into drive and start to go when the cars shudders, screeches, halts, and then loses power. i was able to start the car again, but when i pressed the gas there is no power. i try to put the car in park, and though the gear is in park an alert comes up telling me to put the car in park. car will not go into park. keeps rolling. have to use my emergency break to stop the car. paid out of pocket to have the car towed to the nearest ford dealership. they said they were "pretty sure" it was the transmission control module. 5 days after bring it to them i call and find out that they have reprogrammed the transmission control module and something with the clutch. the problem is still not fixed. i haven't even been able to talk to the mechanic personally, but the lady at the service desk said "it's really thrown him for a loop. it definitely seems to be something with your transmission, but diagnostics says nothing is wrong with the car". this is going to kill someone. period. it could've killed my boyfriend, my friend, my unborn baby and myself. i'm am furious with ford. i have read hundreds of complaints from other people have the same problem with the same car. how has this not been recalled???
