Owing a diesel pick-up we have to add cetane booster to every tank of fuel to boost the cetane percentage to keep the engine operating at peak performance. i use only "motorcraft cetane booster & performance improver', it comes in a 20 oz bottle. the issue is there's a round cardboard under the cap that's supposed to stay there to prevent it from leaking, it doesn't. it sticks to the bottle and if you aren't paying attention it will go into your fuel tank and get stuck in the fuel pump and shut down the truck. it happen to me while driving. i was stranded 3 times till i found a ford dealership who could figure it out. i look online and it's happened many times to other owners and ford won't do anything about it. i had to pay for a tow and the labor to get it repaired. it's thousands of dollars and dangerous. the truck will go into limp mode then shut off. thank god i was on a 35 mph road. if i was on the freeway driving at 70 the power steering and the power breaking will shut off, super hard to control, very dangerous. the truck weighs about 6,500 lbs. . i've read online it has happened a lot. ford needs to stand behind their product and create a bottle that doesn't fall apart. if my wife was driving the truck in traffic somebody could have been hurt or killed. thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

The most common term for my problem is called a death wobble. i am spent a lot of money replacing parts to fix the truck only to learn that thousands of other people have the same problem. to date ford has refused to acknowledge or accept any responsibility for this problem. the problem occurs mostly when the truck is between 50 and 70 miles an hour and hits a bump in the road. my truck currently has a hundred and forty-eight thousand miles on it, the problem started approximately at 120000 about 8 months ago.

Vehicle had been sitting for a few days and the driver was starting the vehicle. upon starting, the driver noticed flames and smoke coming out from under the hood immediately. nothing seemed out of the ordinary before the flames and smoke were noticed. flames were coming from under the hood next to the windshield. driver then shut the vehicle off, popped the hood release, and sprayed 2 fire extinguishers under the hood and on the motor extinguishing the flames. then 911 was called.

Death wobble going at high rate of speed on interstate and truck began to wobble violently after hitting bump on road, only fixed by extreme slowing down. this is an unacceptable issue that ford needs to fix, i had my family in truck at time.

Front windshield has air coming in making a hmmmmm sound at highway speeds. afraid with enough wind, windshield may pop off.

I am not sure what the issue is with the truck; however, the vehicle begins to shake out of control while you are driving it down the road. you almost have to come to a stop to make the violent shaking end. the truck has been to chenoweth ford in clarksburg, wv for repairs, but the issue still remains. i have been a passenger in the truck when the shaking has occurred, and if i had been the driver, i do not know if i would have been able to have commanded control of the vehicle. i have read that on the internet that this is called the "death shake" and is common in ford pickups. something needs to be done to remedy this issue before lives are taken.

An oahu, hawaii us government worker got in his f-350 super duty xl driver seat at 1000 hrs, 14 oct 2017, shut the door normally and the back window shattered. there was a witness watching the incident who backs-up the claim that the back window shattered as stated above/the back window broke with no apparent cause.
