Truck goes into a death wobble in the front end without warning. change lanes, hit rough spot, or different texture road surface. you never know. have replace front steering and sususpension parts. still comes in. have heard from other owners that are experiencing the same thing. ford has some tib out and attempts to fix it, but you never know when it will come back. someone's going to get killed or injured. it is a severe problem and comes without warning. will come in at mostly 45 mph or higher speed. turning doesn't seem to help it. only slowing to a very slow or stop will correct it.
While in motion at speeds between 45-55 mph the vehicle front end will shake violently with out warning and creating a loss of control until the vehicle is brought to a near stop. dealership service advises this is a common problem known as the death wobble.
My truck shakes violently when you hit a bump or small hole in the road, the problem started about 4/20/2019
Cruising at 65mph, hit pavement transition, front end, steering wheel started violently shaking, lost control, crossed from left lane across right lane, shoulder and into ditch. shook so hard the left mirror folded back and the right mirror extended, body plug fell out from under dash and landed in passenger front floor. tires are in good condition, has 46000 miles on it. dealer said i need to pay to add aftermarket steering parts?
At highway speed i hit a bump on the freeway. the front end of the truck immediately began to shudder violently and uncontrollably. i removed my foot from the accelerator and coasted once the vehicle speed reduces to about 45mph the shudder stopped. this has happened before but only lasts 1 or 2 seconds.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford f-350. while driving 25 mph, the front end of the vehicle shimmied. the vehicle had to be restarted to gain control. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to sheehy performance center (600 n frederick ave, gaithersburg, md 20877, (301) 548-9132) where it was diagnosed that the ball joints, tie rod, shocks, and the tires needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 12943941. the failure mileage was 50,000.
While driving front end wobbles violently when you hit a bump. truck is hard to hang on to and steer. i've read several threads that this is common. this is crazy that there has not been a recall. i'm not happy i've replace mine 3 times and it's doing it again. i bought this truck brand new.
Few hours back driving my 2014 f350 super duty 6.7 turbo diesel 4x4 platinum msrp about $70,000 dangerously started wobbling after hitting a road bumb at about 48mph. very dangerous could've resulted in a serious accident. luckily not much traffic. *js
