With less than 10,000 miles on the truck, i have had two of the tires break beads, causing the tires to loose their air pressure. neither time caused major damage to the tire, or to the vehicle, but they have proved to be unreliable, and possibly dangerous. i have heard that they are being looked at for recall, and based on my limited experiences, i would have to agree with the recommendation. i feel very aprehensive every time i get in my truck.*ak (dot number: 008062 tiresize: 265/75r16)

Tires originally began bouncing at 18000 miles--have had to shave tires to keep form bouncing-i was complaining about the tires before the recall but firestone was deaf and said the shaving voided my warranty--but they would not do anything-i explained i was scared of these tires--then the recall came and i began trying to get help--went to riverside ford after they became involved and contacted firestone again and was assured my tires were fine after going to the ford service center in macon ga. now i have had a blow out on the right front tire on the interstate at 77mph crossed two lanes of traffic and ran a car off the road on to the grass to avoid me hitting him. have contacted firestone and threatened with a law suit and was told to get in line and good luck by one of the phone reps. riverside ford says if it is not in the recall they can't and won't don anything--please recall this tire before a child loses his life. thanks. *ak (tiresize: lt265xr16)( dot number: tire size: lt265xr16 )

We first had the front brakes pull right we had the truck in 2-3 times for that problem they finally fixed it. but now the brakes pull left. they do not know how to fix the problem. the engine/electrial problem. all of the sudden everything electical quits working. i didn't know how to classify this problem. they replace a module and it still happens. we are awaiting for them to fix again. on the tires one blew out in the middle of the night on a very dark road 1 mile from the house my husbad drove it home took it in the next day and the refused to fix because he drove on it. approx a month later we were on a road driving only approx 45 mph. my husband felt something when we were at a light,we pulled in to a store just passed the light got out and the back right tire had blown. we changed the tire took it in and they said they are not on a recall even through they clearly had the white ring all around the tire where it had come apart. we replaced the tires with cooper tires. we still have the tires. goodyear inspected and agreed it was due to poor manufacturing. on the warranty problems we contacted the manufacture arbitration board. they stated since we use the truck for business we can not have the truck replaced. no where in any of my documentation states that. if this were so we would not have bought the truck. the dealership knew we used the truck for business. the business consist of a handyman business. the most we do to the truck is put on miles.*ak (dot number: vnw81xl tiresize: 265 75r16)

Rear suspension too weak to carry truck body causing over travel on springs when driving with 500lbs or more in truck bed. my truck can equiped with a service body tool box.the tires were beginning to rub to underside of truck. ford decided to replace suspennision with a larger capicity. i was stuck with the installation cost of $600.00 tires: my left front tire developed a sidewall blister the size of a softball in june,2000. general tire replaced both front tires at no cost but again i paid ford $25 install cost. now a few days ago my left rear tire developed a sidewall blister the size of a softball. i've requested that general tire replace all tires with another manufacture but they have refused. they are willing to replace the defective tire but i don't trust there quality enough to ride my family on. ford has informed me that they have replaced at least 20 or more general tires on the same style truck in the past 6 months. side wall blisters are very dangers and can explode at any time especially as the tire gets hotter. general tire informed me over the telephone that they are getting a unusually high number of reports for this problem for the same tire. these tires may be missing the nylon ply in the side wall or the componet compound used for adhesion is defective.( dot number: ador1jc289 tire size: lt23585r16 )
