In park and truck rolls, and the transmission is severly slipping, and smells like gas

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 ford f-150. the contact stated that while awaiting at a red light, the vehicle shattered and did not move when the light turned green. the contact turned the vehicle off and restarted. the vehicle shattered one more time and then stalled. the vehicle was towed to the dealer champion ford/lincoln (140 southtown blvd, ownsboro, ky 42303) they determined that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 850. the vin was not available.

2,363 miles on the truck it downshifted on the hwy from 80 mph to 20 mph on its own, with a loud noise. had to get in the slow lane so not to have a wreck. it is equipped with auto start, where the truck engine automatically stops at a stop sign or light and restarts on its own. the trucked shut itself off while in traffic and had to be put in park and restarted, almost causing a wreck. took the truck back to the dealer again, when it made a loud noise and felt like we hit something when going 55 mph,the truck jolted we again got in the slow lane. then when sitting in the driveway the motor started racing on its own not touching the excelerator. had to turn off truck. we are afraid to take our grandkids in our new 2018 truck we are paying dearly for. the last time we took the truck to the dealer, they said there was nothing wrong with it. we are about to retire and wanted this truck to be our last, we have not even had it a year. we have done some checking online, we are not the only ones experiencing these types of problems.

While driving on city streets, the drive-train occasionally makes a violent 'clunk' and entire vehicle will 'shudder' when accelerating from a complete stop. the odometer reading was approximately 6,532 miles when the problem first appeared. the transmission control software was updated by the dealer when taken in for service, but the problem persisted. dealer's service department contacted ford's hotline for a tsb or insight into this issue but said this problem was unknown. returning the vehicle for a second service appointment oct. 18th, 2018 in another attempt to diagnose and correct this issue.

My truck occasionally does not accelerate from a stop at the correct speed. the rpms go way up but the truck barely moves. i described it to the dealer as being in 1/2 of 1st gear, but even then it does not feel totally connected between engine and transmission. it was much worse during hot weather.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 ford f-150. while towing a trailer at 60 mph, the vehicle vibrated violently and shook. the contact had to drive dangerously below the speed limit to maintain control of the vehicle. the dealer (eric von schledorn ford, w4873 co rd r r, random lake, wi 53075, (920) 994-4376) stated that the failure was caused by the trailer not the vehicle. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that they would call the contact and dealer back. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 1,000. *bf *dt consumer stated vibration problem was an inherent problem.*jb

10 speed automatic transmission. transmission makes noise, shifts hard when cold, bucks and surges at lower speeds, downshifts are harsh. dealer states this is all normal behavior for this transmission. worst automatic i have ever owned.

Since purchasing the truck, the 10 speed automatic transmission doesn't seem to shift smoothly in many gears. it seems to lurch when shifting at often times and will skip gears when sifting quite frequently. for a new vehicle it doesn't shift smoothly at all. it's been serviced at an authorized ford dealer where they told me the transmission was reprogrammed due to a technical service bulletin but even since then it still doesn't shift smoothly. it happens pretty much everyday or every time i drive it since it was purchased.

The driver side rear view mirror has a double image. this makes night driving and identifying object in the mirror more difficult. it duplicates headlights which at night creates more light in the drivers face making it more difficult to see the road. the mirror has been this way since it was test driven the drive train issue, at 7,000 miles the truck has developed a whining sound while accelerating the dealer belies this is the pinion bearing.

10-speed transmission: the transmission shifts very badly. jerky shifting and often times the truck is sluggish when starting from a stop, often times to the point of acting like the engine is about to die. the only way to partially correct this issues is to drive aggressively and take off from a start with more throttle than one would normally want to. occasionally you can hear/feel a knock from under the truck - underneath the driver's seat when you start the truck and place the transmission in drive. other times when you start the truck and quickly place the transmission in drive the engine will cut off all while your right foot is still on the brake pedal. on one occasion while i was driving through an intersection on a highway at a slow speed (3 - 5 mph?) behind a car which made a right hand turn, i started accelerating and a very loud bang noise occurred that sounded like two cars hitting one another and a hard shake was felt. i checked my mirrors because i thought someone had rear-ended me. just this terrible 10-speed transmission. all of what i have described is after taking the truck to 2 different ford dealerships. all they have done so far is to re-install software. i plan to take it back to a dealership for the third time hoping that maybe someone might test drive it and actually drop the transmission oil pan and actually look at the transmission. maybe if i am lucky the transmission will self-destruct.

The truck has acceleration problems.. its known as the dead pedal.. i have taken it back to ford twice. they tell me all the trucks have this problem. im afraid that it going to cause a accident. my wife will not drive the truck because of this..

Same issues i'm reading here. vehicle frequently makes a loud bang when started. shifts gears extremely rough to the point where you're jerked around. no power when trying to accelerate from a stop which is extremely dangerous when cars are behind you or trying to accelerate merging onto the freeway. my truck has been to dealer twice now. the first time it was because my fuel injector went out at 4,500 miles! it doesn't run much better now. when i took it in they just blew me off and said it was 'normal behavior for the vehicle'. reading all these issues here, ford really needs to take action! extremely dangerous!!

Truck downshifts very erratically and harsh from 6th to 5th gear while braking, causing the brake pedal to be pushed down at various pressures due to the truck lunging forward because of the erratic and harsh downshift from 6th to 5th gear. truck does not feel safe, the downshift is so erratic and harsh that it feels as if you are being rear ended. i have allowed time for the transmission to "learn" as stated in the manual but it has not changed.

Loud clunk when starting truck and drive shaft moves. brought to dealer twice, july & oct 2018 they found nothing. when at a stopd light/sign, it hesitates when ready to proceed, transmission is not engaging right away, it's delayed. very dangerous. my husband noticed slight jerking at times. driver side door froze and could not open twice. had to use passenger side.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 ford f-150. while driving various speeds, the transmission downshifted on its own. the vehicle was taken to joel confer ford (2935 penns valley pike, centre hall, bellfornte, pa) on several occasions for the same failure and the transmission control module was reprogrammed; however, the failures continued. the manufacturer was notified of the failures, but no assistance was offered. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 10,000. *tt*jb

This issue pertains to the 10-speed transmission that occasionally locks up the rear wheels. the first time it happened to me, the truck had less than 500miles on it. i had exited the interstate and was approaching a light on a downhill grade. i decelerated for the turn, then started to accelerate, but decided i was too late for the light and started to lightly brake again. at that time, the rear wheels locked up, make a screeching sound, and the truck suddenly decelerated so hard that it locked my seatbelt. i immediately looked in the rear view mirror to see what kind of truck had just hit me from behind. to my surprise, no vehicle behind me. i was on my way (5min) to the ford dealership for the transmission cable recall and we discussed this issue. could it be related to the cable recall? the dealership said my cable clip was fine and recall did not apply. they told me they could not fix it unless a check engine/check transmission light was illuminated. none was illuminated, so they sent me on my way. this has happened 4 times in 10months (9900miles). each time has the same slight down slope when shifting either up or down. scares the hell of of me every time, let alone the damage it is doing to the drivetrain, tires, and engine. new trucks should not have this problem. if it happened on a wet road or snow/ice contaminated, i'm sure it would cause a wreck or worse.

Parked truck shut it off and took keys out. was getting out of truck and truck started rolling away and i was between door and truck had to jump in to get it stopped. found trans selector in park and transmission still in drive . see pictures it was a rental ruck have not heard from enterprise or ford about injuries

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 ford f-150. whether the vehicle was started manually with the key or the remote start feature, the vehicle would move forward or in reverse while the gear was in park. the failure was experienced several times. the vehicle was taken to loudon motors ford (3476 union avenue south east, minerva, oh 44657, 330-868-2277). the dealer test drove the vehicle and was able to duplicate the failure. the dealer also performed diagnostic testing on the vehicle's software and informed the contact that the software was the current software, and no diagnostic failure codes were detected. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the vehicle was performing normally due to the clutch plate pressure. the vehicle was not repaired. the contact mentioned that the vehicle was included in nhtsa campaign number: 18v214000 (power train). the failure mileage was 2,257. parts distribution disconnect.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 ford f-150. while driving approximately 10 mph with the vehicle in first gear, the vehicle shifted into neutral. a few seconds later, the vehicle shifted into second gear. the contact stated that the failure recurred fifteen times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer (moberly motors ford in moberly, missouri, 660-263-6000) determined that the vehicle performed normally. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 521.

10 speed transmission hazards: when braking the transmission lunges into to lower gears and surges forward erratically requiring varying brake pressure to stop. acceleration is also erratic, sometimes delayed, sometimes immediate. the ford dealership does not have a solution and ford will not responds to calls. the erratic behavior of the transmission makes the vehicle dangereous.

Transmission shiftings from 10th speed to 1st gear at highway speeds causing control of vehicle

This issue is happening widespead amongst owners of ford's new 3.5l high output powertrain. upon open throttle, the engine will instantly drop off all power, causing the truck to dangerously and unexpectedly drop to zero miles per hour. very dangerous and life threatening while entering roadways or interstate roads with traffic. upon open throttle, a "low oil pressure" light takes over the viewing area on the dash cluster and then disappears after restarting the vehicle. upon restarting, the truck will fail and provide a "low oil pressure" signal again after applying open throttle. this can happen when taking off from a dead stop or under cruising speeds, when open throttle is applied, the engine fails and cuts off all power. it doesnt matter if you are turning or going straight, the issue happens regardless. always happens under open throttle. this has become a widespead issue with owners of the truck from model year 2017-2018. ford needs to respond and fix this issue for the safety of their customers.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 ford f-150. while driving, the vehicle lost power and the low oil and check engine indicators illuminated. the vehicle was taken to arroway ford (519 n bedford rd, bedford hills, ny 10507) where it was diagnosed that the oil pump failed. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 1,519.

My truck since day one 12-08-2017 has had drivetrain issues erratic shifting , clunking in rear and front drive trains . this morning went pull out it felt like it pop out of gear then in thumped back into gear this happened twice. before today the dealer has reprogrammed the firmware with thee 2 tsb tsb 17-2262. tsb 17-2272. iit helped some but not getting better it is very erratic and i am concerned that it is going to become a safety issue

I have 2018 ford f150 raptor edition and have had nothing but issues with it since purchasing the vehicle in november of 2017 brand new. currently the engine is blown and it has been in and out of service for over 118 days since purchase.i was driving on the expressway, first day after getting truck back from 28 day service and the engine oil pressure light came on again which is why it was in service. i called the dealer and ford and they advised to keep driving until they heard back from the ford hotline. a week or so later it was broke down smoking on the side of the highway. in addition there have been numerous other problems.

Tl* the contact owns a 2018 ford f-150. after the vehicle was turned on, it reversed independently without being shifted. the contact was able to get the vehicle to stop and heard an abnormal clicking noise. the dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. the failure mileage was approximately 900. the vin was not provided.

Noticed chassis vibration starting at and above 60 mph. dealer attempted various fixes including replacing drive shaft, but vibrations remain

Not all the time but when engine starts front axle jumps and makes a clunk noise. doesn't happen all the time. also erratic shifting and clunking in driver train again not always. called dealer said there been some reports of these problems but service bulletins yet.

Transmission has intermittent slipping and very rough up and down shifting. it also has intermittent rough hot start (truck kicks forward as if it wants to take off during start up). the truck also has problems shifting while on 'sport' mode in which it will not shift up to the next gear even as it reaches the red line in the tachometer. these problems have progressively increased since i bought the truck back in november 2017. i have brought up these concerns to two separate ford dealers and both stated i had to get used to the shifting in this new 10 speed transmission. both dealers also stated that they've had lots of costumer complaints regarding my concern but have not received any direction from ford. my concern is that the transmission might lock up, seize or have a catastrophic failure in which fluid would spill on the roadway and cause me to loose control of the truck. i have looked into several forums and found lots of people with similar complains regarding this 10 speed transmission. please help...thank you
