Problems with 2016 Ford F-150 UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On average, the 2016 Ford F-150 starts to “feel” problems with the UNKNOWN OR OTHER and its various aspects after 25 450 miles.

Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2016 Ford F-150

On january 22 2018 at approximately 11:00 p.m., i started my truck with the remote start, which activates the rear window defroster, as needed. on my 20 mile ride home from work, mostly freeway driving, i heard crackling noises, and i was watching in the rear view mirror, my entire rear window shattering, except for the center power sliding piece. when i got home, pieces of glass fell inside the cab and bed when i closed the door. ford is aware of this issue, but they refuse to repair it. in the meantime, i am forced to pay $500 deductible for my insurance to repair it, even though i had purchased the extended warranty when i bought it brand new. it has approximately 15,000 miles on it now. researching this problem, i believe it is a defect in the glass, causing it to shatter when the defroster warms up the glass.

My rear window exploded in my 2016 f-150. i started the truck with the remote starter and let it run for 10 mins.. when i got in the and put the key in the ignition the back window exploded leaving a hole on the driver side of the and the passenger side shatter. the middle part is still whole.

I have contacted gus johnson ford numerous times to have my recalls fixed they always tell me they are ordering the parts. this started over a year ago in the winter with my door unabkle to close. i need my recall fixed asap

Door latches freezing, preventing operation of door to latch close, sometimes will not open. happening multiple times daily below freezing temperatures, and on all doors intermittently. sometimes, locks showing locked, but door will open without key. door can take over an hour to thaw out with truck started multiple times running heat full blast. told by 2 dealerships that parts are not available, loaners are not available, and rentals are not covered by recall or warranty for this issue. told to bungee doors together and call back when parts arrive. consistent advice across multiple dealerships.

Nhtsa recall number: 17v652 recall date: october 16, 2017 manufacturer recall number: 17s33 i purchased this vehicle from freeway ford a ford company dealership in november and was told there were no open recalls on my truck. i get in the truck today to drive and my door will not latch and it is 15 degrees outside and i now have no ability to drive my vehicle.

Truck is idling down to about 250 rpm and periodically stalling out after driving and coming to a stop at a light or stop sign. also stalls in reverse. ford cannot resolve the issue. started with 22604 miles. now has 26346 miles and am still having the same issue. i have taken it to the ford dealer where i purchased it 3 times. still has not been resolved

Parked truck. put shifter into park. turned ignition off. truck was stationary and in park. opened door. got out of truck. opened back door. truck rolled 6 feet forward and then came to a stop.

Topic: sirius satellite radio uses a unsafe prompt which forces drivers to take their eyes off the road and hands off the wheel, while driving, in order to remove it from the screen. this prompt is their attempt at forcing consumers to call and subscribe to their service. in my ford f-150, i am able to use a button on my steering wheel to toggle through the audio sources (such as am, fm, cd, or phone. sirius satellite radio is also one of those options), safely. the sirius satellite radio was a feature that was already installed in the truck when it was purchased from the dealership. i have never subscribed to their service nor do i wish to. unfortunately, every time i toggle through and get to the sirius source, a prompt shows up on the screen (see photo) and i am forced to take my eyes off the road and my hands off the wheel in order to hit 'close' so that i can move on to the audio source that i am looking for. sirus told me that there is nothing they can do to disable the prompt, and that the only way to disable it permanently was to pay them for service or pay a dealership to go in and remove the satellite chip. this situation is unsafe and unfair to the consumer. i should not be forced to use my own time and money in order have this safety violation fixed. this seems like a blatant contradiction of our 'hands-free' traffic laws, which are meant to encouraging drivers to keep their eyes on the road. sirius has essentially hijacked this safety feature in my truck and i would like to pursue a complaint. i am afraid this is an accident waiting to happen. they are aware of the problem and refused to do anything to help.

When the temperature is below freezing my doors will freeze shut or not close fully. ford says it could be a few months before parts become available for a proper fix. they say the whole door lock mechanism and cable need to be replaced in all doors. this is my only pickup truck and i drive it in the winter time. so now i have to wait till it warms up to drive my vehicle safely as the doors may not shut or fully close. this is a safety issue and ford is taking their time for a fix. they say they have no clue when parts will become available. i am currently on a waiting list at my local ford dealership for the repair. at the end of january 2017 we had the same issue with our truck. the doors would not close or fully open then also. took the truck in to ford and they supposedly readjusted the door lock mechanisms which did not fix the issue. they told me not to wash the vehicle at all in the winter time as the water can get down into the door and fries the mechanisms. this is unacceptable as ford should have tested these trucks in cold weather conditions. if they did they would have known of the issue and fixed it before putting the truck to market. today the doors would not closed and i had to use a propane heater and a blow dryer to unthaw them. finally i was able to get my doors closed after 30 minutes of thawing them. this is a safety-related issue as the doors when driving down the road could come open or not fully engage the locking mechanism when temperatures dip below freezing.

Recall 17s33 open/frozen door latch. have been to local dealer 4 times with no fix. called corporate (ford) and they say i need to continue to work with local dealer. been in and out of dealership loaner cars for 3 months.

Ford issued recall notice 18s27 in nov 2017, i have called my local dealership 4 time in the last 12 months and have been told that the parts our on backorder. what good is issuing a recall if the problem can not be fixed in a timely manner. ford is not taking this issue seriously.

My truck leaks repeated leak in the back seat. i have video proof of the truck leaking on multiple occasions and the dealer says they can not find it. i bring the truck home test it and i get it to do it. the truck seems musty and not good for my health smelling mold spores. video file to big to submit

Air cleaner cover won't engage hold-down recesses. air cleaner edges appear to be too big for cover closure. air cleaner cover remains unsecured. i discovered this non-fitment while inspecting for registration.

Speed control includes systems and devices intended to control (accelerate) the speed of the vehicle to the driver's intent such as the accelerator pedal, throttle control cables, linkages, actuators, electronic control units and software, cruise control system actuators and deactivating systems, and other components and systems that may interfere with the speed control

Truck was in park with the engine running. nobody was in the truck which was on a slight incline. it was standing still in the back yard while i was trying to get the garage door closed. it took off going through a chainlink fence, across a neighbors yard, and came to rest on a bank on the other side of the neighbors yard. the fence and brush caused several heavy scratches to the truck.

Rear window shattering while driving

Tarted my 2016 ford f150 sunday morning, turned on defroster due to foggy windows from rain & humidity, went back inside to get my coffee before i left to go for donuts, came back out,got in truck, started down the hill and heard a pop behind me,looked back, and both sides of the rear window glass had shattered, the center pwr window was still intact.

Back glass of 2016 f-150 shattered upon door closing in the morning. defroster may have been on.

Purchased my 2016 ford f150, brand new. during cold temperatures the door locks do not unlock and if you are able to get unlocked the doors do not lock nor latch. if in the event i was in traveling in cold temperatures, i would be locked in my vehicle cause a safety concern for my two infants and wife and i. spoke to ford manufacturer and ford service dept, they are aware of the issue and there is a back order of parts, since january of 2017, when i started have issues with my vehicle. i am seeking legal advice in getting vehicle bought back from ford company, minus depreciation.

My 2016 f-150 is not unlocking/locking the doors in colder temperatures (below 32*f). several times i have had to wait to remote start and warm the truck up before the door locks are operable. i had a tsb performed by my dealer under warranty, and the very next day (the temperature was 10*f) i cannot get into my truck because the door locks are frozen and inoperable. i can not get into my vehicle until the locks warm up and work, sometimes this takes up to 30 minutes of the vehicle running using the remote start. this usually works for the drivers side door, however the other three doors (super crew) still do not work until the temperature warms up.

On 5 separate occasions the dash display stopped working. radio/cd player/backup camera would not work at all. the main concern is backing up at night in a crowded parking lot with the back of my truck loaded for a 9 day camping trip. i can not see out any of the camper shell windows at all. i could hit a parked vehicle or a pedestrian. this has happened 5 separate times.

Driver side door latch does not close when it's cold.

Door locks may not function in sub freezing weather meaning your doors may not lock or you may be trapped inside as they will not unlock

On january 10 2017, at approximately 7:45 a.m. after dropping off my 3 kids at school, the rear window on my 2016 ford f-150 exploded and shattered after the rear window defroster was activated.

The door locks and latches will not work in freezing weather. there are other issues such as the windshield washer fluid check valve freezing...huge in icey conditions because if you don't have a way to clean window in car u are unable to see well. on mine it is the driver's door latch so you cannot get door to stay closed. know issue but response by ford and how they are handling is a failure!! the parts are out to march and they want u to just deal with it.

Under freezing conditions, passenger door will not re-latch closed after being opened from the outside. the passenger door will open using the outside handle, but will not securely latch closed. the issue resolves as temperature warms up.

I have been locked out of the truck several times in the past month when it has been cold and some of the times when i could actually get back in, the doors then would not latch shut until the vehicle completely warmed up enough to "thaw" the locks. but often the issue would come right back once the truck was cold again. i understand there is a tsb about this on 2015 and 2016 trucks (16-0155) but i have been told the parts are not available until around feb 1 and that the service takes atleast 5 hrs to perform

While the vehicle is in motion there is a constant rattling coming from the panoramic sunroof while it is closed.

Navigation system. ford has not made available an updated navigation map for the 2016-2018 f150, expedition and probably other vehicles including lincoln that i am not aware of. the dealers seem to be in the dark about this subject and no word from ford either. i have had to quit using my nav system for fear that it will direct me to a street that has been removed due to new construction or through an unsafe part of town when newer safer options are available. there are times when i would look at my nav screen and it looked like i was driving in the middle of a field with no roads around me. it's an unsettling feeling when driving thru a strange town at night. this issue is all over the ford forums and i think many of us would like to see this issue resolved before someone gets ;out and hurt or worse. this happens when driving and it happens anywhere there has been new construction or demolition. it happens everyday at all speeds, it has been an issue since the day the truck went into service 5/30/16. it was delivered with an out dated nav map.you see this on the news from time to time where the nav/gps sends someone the wrong direction and something bad happens to them. any help would be appreciated. i am sure there are thousands, or 10's of thousands of vehicles with this same problem.

Bought a brand new, 2016 f150 lariat v8 4x4. at circa 2500 miles the vehicle started to make an unusual noise when driving at 45 to 60-mph. took the vehicle for repair to the dealership. dealership heard the noise also, but were not able to locate/fix it. they advised me to continue driving the car to see if the noise increased. at circa 3750 miles, i took the vehicle to the dealership for a second time since the noise was still present and evident. the dealership has kept the car for 10 days, and although the noise still can be heard, they dealership is informing me that they are not able to locate and fix the noise. they have instructed me to pick up the vehicle although they do not know what is wrong with it. i am worried to pick up a car that has not been fixed, that has a noise that was not present when new, and that is happening when driving at high speeds. the dealership/ ford must assume ownership of the vehicle since they can't fix it, and can't advise customers to keep driving the vehicle "since we can't find were the noise is coming from, there is nothing wrong with it". *tr

2016 ford f150. consumer writes in regards to vibration in vehicle at speeds above 35mph. *ld *js

Chrome grill and front bumper on 2.7l model defective. discolored in a random pattern like a liquid was splashed on them. replacements had the same problem. i've been waiting months to have these parts replaced.

Installed new front bumpers from ranch hand corporation shiner,tx 18003669712 they said all the safety features would work and the adaptive cruise. it doesn't and a big safety issue. i just want them to honor what they said they sold and to have safety features. i called them and not very helpful at all and rush me off the phone.

Driving down the highway, doing about 60 to 65 mph, noticed that i was slowing down slightly, went to give it more gas, looked down at the dashboard and realized that the engine wasn't on (no rpms on tachometer). the screen on the dashboard had a service warning for the parking brake with a lightning bolt idiot light on (not sure what it was, didn't get the chance to look in the manual). i don't know if the power steering/brakes went out, since i was moving fast enough to steer fairly easily, and i'm strong enough to press a brake pedal. after i got it pulled over, i put it in park, tried to start it again, wasn't able to. called roadside assistance, got a tow truck. notice the screen that has stuff like clock, temp, date, media info was stuck at the time it shutoff. no other electrical systems seemed to work, i.e. power windows, emergency flashers, ignition. was also locked in park, couldn't get it into neutral for the tow truck. after it got onto the tow truck, the exterior lights flashed while driving to the dealership to service it, got to dealer and when it came time to get it off the truck, it started right back up again, didn't appear to have any service messages show up. brand new truck, about 1100 miles on it, no accidents, no off-roading, haven't even changed the oil yet, haven't touched anything under the hood besides the oil dipstick. at the dealership, nothing seemed to be loose under the hood (electrical wise). attached is a picture similar to what i saw (again, 65 on the highway, not really an ideal time for documentation).

On 3/21/16 i purchased a 2016 ford f150. on the way home from the dealership my feet and legs started itching and i broke out in a rash and my lips, face and tongue went numb. later on that night my hands and feet burned all night long. each time i've drove it since the same thing happened, each time recovery takes longer. it happens inside the cab and also when i'm working under the hood. my wife is driving the vehicle right now without a reaction however i'm concerned for her health.

Exhaust smell in cab. have to drive with windows down to get rid of it. ford says they can only help me when the smell is actually happening meaning i have to go to the shop right then and there. also xm radio cuts in at out. ford knows it's an issue but has no fix. it's at the same intersections everyday. they said keep checking in for possible fixed.
