Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2015 Ford F-150

Within the first year of use an intermittent (few days a week) vibration + humming / grinding type noise was present when turning (left and right) at low speeds (<25mph). the vibration sometimes cyclic, felt in steering wheel, and is audible from passenger seat. the vibration is distracting and often occurs when slowing down at stoplights or stop signs. the noise & vibration, however, remain when the brakes are not engaged. the noise & vibration exist while in 4x4 as well as 4x2 and 4a. the issue has been verified multiple times by service staff at 2 different dealerships. vehicle has been in for service multiple times (3 prior) and parts have been replaced to attempt to address the issue (front iwe assemblies which were found to have partial leak, front left hub assembly found to have resistance / grinding was replaced). sound / vibration remained after service. vehicle currently in for service 4th time at dealership to address issue again (33 days+ and counting). no resolution yet.

The powertrain has completely stopped working 3 times, stranding me, and my family in oncoming traffic. after turning the vehicle off, and on, several times, i was able to engage drive, and move the truck out of traffic. the truck has been repaired 3 times for the same defect, but ford refuses to repurchase/replace the vehicle. no one in my family is comfortable riding in, or driving this vehicle. 1st time: while attempting to back into my drive way, reverse completely stopped working, stranding me perpendicular to traffic, in the road. 2nd time: with another adult, and 3 children in the vehicle, i was driving through an intersection in atlanta, and the rpm's went to 5000, with no movement. we were completely stuck in the dead center of an extremely busy intersection, unable to drive forward, or backward. after several attempts of turning it on, and off, i was able to move from the intersection, in four wheel drive. 3rd time: while driving in stop, and go traffic, in atlanta, i was attempting to make a left hand turn, when the same symptoms as before happened. i was unable to move forward, or backward, until a few cycles of turning the car on, and off. i have written e-mails to the ceo, managing director, and customer relations of ford motor co., only to be handed off to a regional customer service person. their answer is that they will stand behind their warranty, and continue to fix the vehicle. i have all the repair files, e-mails sent to all involved, and phone records of the many times i have had to contact the dealership, and ford's customer relations manager. too many to begin any upload.

New 2015 f150 with a vibration/ shudder coming from what feels like the transfer case or possibly the drive shaft. happens when trying to shift from gear to gear, and on inclines...feels like it is going to stall. also happens when just cruising at certain speeds. i've had it to the dealer twice and they say everything is fine but they have felt the same problem with this vehicle and ones on their lot. vibration could lead to more serious problem and actually stall the vehicle while in traffic.

I have been having an ongoing issue with my transmission, where it shifts rough or does not shift appropriately. when the truck shifts rough, i barely have my foot on the accelerator, where it will slam into gear causing the truck to jolt. i also have been experiencing the truck failing to downshift out of 4th gear while going uphills. while going uphills, the rpms will go below 1000, where the truck will begin to shutter as if it is going to stall. you are forced to press the accelerator in order for it to shift, where the rpms/turbo booster will soar. i have had the truck at the dealership for this concern, where they performed a software update and it did not fix the issue. i feel the transmission shifting rough could cause an accident, if the engine in fact stalls and you lose control of the vehicle. i also feel being forced to accelerate could cause you to strike the vehicle in front of you or lose control it this occurs while negotiating a turn etc. the panoramic sunroof allows water to pass the rubber seal and drain into the water track. i frequently have had the windows fog up from moisture inside the passenger compartment and the odor of mold. if you google "2015 ford f-150 sunroof leaks", you will find 1000's of concerned ford owners on forums experiencing the same issues, where ford states it is normal for the sunroof to leak past the seal. i feel the sunroof is a health concern, as i believe mold may be growing in the truck and is being breathed in. i have been experiencing the seat back getting extremely hot while using the "cooled seat" feature. i feel this could cause a burn or fire hazard.

Vehicle transmission slams or bangs when shifting from 4 to 5 gear. it also hangs in 4th gear when at speed that is near the speed required to shift up from 4th or 5th gear.

Truck shudders as transmission torque converter clutch attempts to lock up in third and fifth gear at light throttle position when shifting upward. this vehicle has the 2.7l engine with the auto stop/start feature. with this feature disabled the engine attempts to stall after stopping as if the feature is trying to override the off switch. after coming to a rolling stop and then trying to accelerate into traffic the engine will bog down and then a split second later feel as if it is going to full throttle without me depressing the throttle further. the engine speed surges when attempting to lightly accelerate and maintain speed with the flow of traffic. -ford needs to give owners the option to turn off the auto stop/start permanently. i was not informed this feature could not be removed when i purchased this vehicle. the dealer attempted to shut it off and only succeeded in disabling the remote start feature. i will never buy another vehicle with the auto stop/start annoyance.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. the contact stated that there was an abnormal noise progressing while driving 50 mph or in reverse. also, the transmission jerked in and out of gear without warning. the dealer was notified more than once and was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. the manufacturer issued five technical service bulletins for the power train. the dealer (winner ford, 250 haddonfield-berlin rd, cherry hill, nj 08034, (856) 428-4000) indicated that they were unable to determine a remedy pertaining to that information. in addition, the contact had a warranty and the dealer stated that the vehicle was 14 days outside of the window to receive warranty service. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was not available.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 ford f-150. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate and abruptly switched gears as the vehicle surged forward without warning. the contact also mentioned that the vehicle stalled when the failure occurred. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be reflashed. the vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 500.

Since buying my truck brand new around a year ago,i have had consistent problems with my transmission. most of the time, in the "drive" option, the transmission jerks jolts while changing gears. it is very loud, and makes you feel like something bad just happened. most importantly, the transmission shifts into first gear while the truck is still moving in manual mode. it does it almost every time around 7-9 miles per hour. it happens so violently, it slams everyone in the vehicle forward. i reported in to johnson city ford in johnson city, t.n. i think this problem is an immediate safety and mechanical problem for my family. i also believe it is doing permanent damage to my vehicle i will have to pay for later down the road. thank you for your time. *tr
