When it gets cold the truck will go into reverse and not into drive. when trying to go to park, all the dash indicators do not light up and the check engine light comes on. after shutting off the truck and restarting it a few times, the p0705 and p1702 codes are on and i drive it home. the next day i take it in to the dealer and codes are gone and no history either. nothing to be done as the codes i gave them are not on truck anymore. this has happened 4 times already to date within the last month.

When vehicle placed in reverse there is a delay 5-8 seconds before jerking hard into gear suddenly. additionally the gear indicator lamp on the dash disappeared. then a large yellow wrench appears. the vehicle was assemble at the kansas facility and fords 12c23-s1. safety recall campaign fails to cover this, stating there is no recall listed for this vehicle vin. this vehicle nearly struck a student when my wife (teacher) was attempting to place vehicle in reverse to leave her parking place, when there was a delay to go into gear she pressed the accelerator thinking it needed fuel. as the transmission abruptly jerked into gear at the high rpms the vehicle shot backwards out of control. this is a known safety issue and is not being addressed by ford because of a number on a piece of paper. it appears i'm not the only one with this issue and ask for your assistance in helping prevent a tragedy. your organization has addressed this in the past and it appears it needs to be addressed again.

It down shifts really hard for no reason. it happened the 1st time on 12-24-19 when i was doing approx. 30 mph and for no reason it just slammed down. then again on 12/28/19 again i was doing about 30mph. suddenly my dash display just showed dash lines and a picture of a wrench on it. about 10 seconds later is just slammed down again. i pulled over and shut the vehicle off for 60 seconds and then started it back up again and it was fine. the tranny also seems to be slipping on occasion

When accelerating the vehicle transmission slips into a lower gear, downshifting improperly causing a bump in the ride and a danger in clean acceleration. this issue occurred multiple times and is a contributing power train issue.

I got a recall letter. recall #19s07. i took my truck to ford dealership, they reprogrammed the module for the powertrain on 6/19. my extended warranty ran out 11/30/19. on 12/21/19 i was driving on the highway and i had my cruise set at 67 mph. all of a sudden my gauges stopped working and had a tool show up on dash. then my tires started sliding and it downshifted. i almost hit another car. i pulled over as soon as i could and stopped my truck. i restarted my truck and all the gauges were back to normal.i drove it for 2 days without any recurrences.i think reprogramming the module is only a temporary fix. now everytime i drive it, it will down shift. i drove 35 mph and returned home and had to keep it in low speed.so apparently the reprogramming is not a fix. it is still unsafe and now i have to pay to have it fixed properly so my vehicle will be safe on the highway. eventually more people will be killed because it was not fixed right. ford should be made to pay for there defects.not the consumers. i almost had a wreck because ford is trying to fix there mistakes the cheapest way out, not the safest. respectfully submitted an unhappy ford owner

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford f-150. the contact stated that the transmission failed and the vehicle exhibited engine oil failure. the vehicle was taken to randall reed's planet ford (19000 eastex fwy, humble, tx 77338, (866) 844-5995) where it was determined that the vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign number: 19v075000 (power train) and nhtsa campaign number: 11v128000 (electrical system). the manufacturer was contacted. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was 172,245.

I had recall 19s07 completed with the pcm flashed a month ago. right after it was flashed i had extremely hard shifting from 1st to 2nd and a hard down shift from 4th-3rd, during take off and slow down. i called the dealer immediately and was told top bring it back in because the flash was corrupt and they needed to re-flash the truck. i did that and after the re-flash, the hard shifting was still there, not as often, from 1st - 2nd but at least happening at 3 take offs when driving. this continued to the current day. i was told to drive the truck for two weeks for the computer to re-learn my driving habits. now mind you the truck drove fine prior to having this fsa pcm flash done. i took it in because the danger of having the truck go from 6th to 1st gear at 70mph is high. now yesterday (11/20/2019) i took off from a stop light (hard shifting still happening), just reached 55mph (in motion) when the truck went from being in 5th/6th gear down to 3rd gear. immediately the wrench light came on, my mileage display disappeared, and the truck would not leave 3rd gear. i drove slowly to a gas station and turned the vehicle off. this is exact signs of the molded lead frame and the dealer confirmed that with codes. there is a fsa 19n01 that is to replace the lead frame/ however, my truck now has 174,000 miles and 19n01 is covered to 150,000 only and ford will not honor the lead frame to be replaced. back to my original issue, is the bad shifting of this truck did not begin until i had fsa 19s07 and the system flash. so that lead to the lead frame and speed sensors failing. both fsa's are for the abrupt downshift possibility, and 19n01 came out after 19s07. coincidence,? i do not think so. ford needs to honor the warranty repair of the lead frame by the dealer. please help before accident's happen

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford f-150. the contact received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign number: 19v075000 (power train). the contact took the vehicle to pines ford (8655 pines blvd, pembroke pines, fl 33024, (954) 443-7000) to have the recall repair performed. the contact never experienced a failure prior to the recall repair. after the repair, while the contact's husband was driving at a low rate of speed, the vehicle downshifted without warning. the contact's husband stated that the vehicle continued to downshift multiple times as he attempted to return the vehicle to the dealer. the dealer took back possession of the vehicle and, after three days, the contact was informed that the vehicle needed a new transmission. the contact was also informed that ford did not have coverage for the vehicle. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was 197,869.

Vehicle abruptly shifted to 1st and is now stuck in 5th gear taking to dealership but the fact that this is a known issue and can get us killed it is beyond me how ford is dealing with this. there is a 2 week delay just to ger our vehicles in. what are we supposed to do?

While driving in the city my vehicle down shifted and the wheels locked up on its own. i believe this is a transmission problem.

'takata recall' my truck shifts into 3rd and won't shift out, down shifts outta nowhere and when i shut down and restart it is automatically in 5th gear and shifts very hard from park!

After receiving recall 19s07-19v-075 by mail and having it reprogrammed by crater lake ford medford,or the transmission shifts worse than the original. my vehicle was manufactured at georgia plant. 3.7 flex fuel. i was in cruise control going down a mountain pass with my foot on the brake and the cruise control failed to disengage and then abruptly shifted to a lower gear. the cruise control works flawlessly on most grades. the problem only seems to occur when during on highways in the mountains. 39k miles. way too many light bulbs have gone out on this model. never off-roaded . not a work truck. never even towed anything. since that downhill cruise control problem occurred, now i have an antifreeze coolant leak at the expansion overflow tank on the 3/4 quick disconnect hose . vehicle has never overheated. low speed high rev before shifting into 2nd gear. cruise control problem only on highway going downhill. did they mistakenly reprogram my f150 with wrong recall?

Currently my truck is under a safety recall to update the new software on pcm for intermittent down shifts at any speed. also there is a molded leadframe warranty extension. i'm thankful i haven't experienced the downshift to 1st. but have noticed it down shifts on highway from 6th to 5th to 4th and back up. also hesitates violently when trying to pass or accelerate. laird nollerf3ord in lawrence,ks is doing update on pcm monday sept 16th. my vin is included, but they say they have to do a diagnostic and can only replace leadframe if certain codes are related. i personally think the transmission moulded leadframe should be replaced and than update pcm after. from what i read the sensors are the problem regardless of the software update. if my vin is on the field service recall and the safety recall. both should be done free of charge parts and labor. regardless of the codes. its fords [xxx] up. and many more accidents will happen if this isn't made a priority. i'm seriously scared to drive on the highway knowing anytime it could downshift into 1st gear. i read reports even after the update still have same problems. it's the leadframe people. i'll see how the software update monday effects the performance of my 5.0. fingers crossed. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

While driving on hwy at 55mph the transmission shifted from 6th to 3rd gear causing the truck to rapidly slow down mid traffic was able to pull over to the shoulder and stop this is the second time took it to the dealer they did something worked for a little but did not fix problem.

While driving auto transmission will not shift up from 1st gear and while traveling truck will down shift to first for no apparent reason, thus causing a strain on engine and transmission.

Truck will not go into reverse and throws a code reflecting an issue with the transmission range sensor. the issue began shortly after i had the dealer address a safety recall 19s07; which has to do with a failure of the output speed sensor. as the vehicle had shifted into first gear unexpectedly. there is a compliance recall 12c23 dated may 30, 2012 which addresses the exact same issues i am experiencing: ' transmission will not engage into reverse gear ' electronic transmission prndl indicator does not display reverse (if equipped) ' back-up lamps are inoperative ' intermittent rear video camera operation when i contacted ford, they verified my truck was manufactured in may 2011; which was before the terms of the compliance recall covering the period covering october 2011 - february 2012. yet my truck is having the exact same issues reflected in the compliance recall. i believe this should have been covered under the compliance recall 12c23. as it is the exact same issue i am experiencing and was manufactured a few months before the recall date range and was manufactured at the same manufacturing facility listed. ford did open a file and issued a case number but i believe this is an issue nhtsa should be aware of.

I purchased the vehicle on 07/30/19. on or around 08/01/19 the vehicle was jerking and the check engine light came on, so i notified both salesmen at the dealership immediately by text message and photos. chris indicated that the truck needs an oil change. so i had the oil change done immediately after the text message. two or three days later, the truck jerked again. i called chris and informed him that the truck was jerking again. chris indicated i take it to have it checked with an odb2. the truck obd2 indicated that the truck had a problem with camshaft sensors. from the parts store i drove to the dealership and showed the results of the obd2. chris indicated that he would discuss the issue with jesse to see if they could help get this problem resolved. within two to three days i returned to the dealership that jesse could test drive the truck. when jesse test drove the truck, it did not jerk and the check engine light was off. jesse indicated that he and the dealership could not help me because there was no evidence or codes to indicate there was an problem with the truck. jesse, chris and pete the mechanic indicated that the truck would be safe to drive. on or around the 08/20/19 i was in the hospital and my husband, jose, indicated that the truck was jerking. on or around 08/26/19 i personally went to the dealership and spoke to chris and let him know the truck was still jerking. chris indicated that he would speak to jesse. that same afternoon, i received a text message from chris. he indicated that they could offer labor and parts to fix the truck. but then continues the text indicating that it would cost me $200. i went personally to the dealership and indicated to jesse and chris that this was unacceptable because the truck began jerking two days after the day of purchase. i need this resolved. please help.

While in motion my truck suddenly downshifted, the speedometer went to zero and the wrench light came on. this happened a couple different times over the weekend and this morning the transmission downshifted into third gear and wouldn't switch up or down. when researching the issue it appears to be similar it the same as 19n01 lead frame issue but my truck isn't part of that recall according to ford.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford f-150. the contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired per nhtsa campaign number: 19v075000 (power train), an abnormal banging noise was heard from the front of the vehicle every time it downshifted. the vehicle was taken to fette ford (1137 us-46, clifton, nj 07013, (877) 605-8292) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 160,000. *as *tr

Very harsh transmission shifting from 1st to 2nd gear

I own a 2011 ford f150 that was under a transmission recall that was very serious in nature: 16v248000 -ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 ford f-150 trucks, 2012 ford expedition, lincoln navigator, and ford mustang vehicles. the affected vehicles are equipped with an automatic transmission that may unexpectedly downshift to first gear, regardless of vehicle speed. i had this recall performed and ever since, i've had transmission issues. the transmission does not respond as it should. the truck takes off very slowly as it accelerates (very dangerous in traffic). on top of that it has shifting problems. the dealership (eby ford in goshen, in) has been no help whatsoever. now, on top of not getting this taken care of, i now have another issue with the vehicle (that's also been an ongoing problem): 'field service action number: 15n05. my vehicle has 152,xxx miles on it and they're saying they can't cover this because it's over 150,000. i need help getting this vehicle in a a safe driving condition so that i someone doesn't end up seriously injured or dead. please help! these things occur while the vehicle is being operated. there is only one option below for "when did this happen?". i selected today, however, this has been an ongoing thing since the original recall was performed (mentioned above).

This vehicle was subject to a safety recall (19s07/19v-075) for intermittent failure of the output speed sensor (oss) causing unintended downshift to first gear. i had the dealer reprogram the powertrain control module as per the recall. this did not fix the problem. i have seen that a new recall was issued (19s19) for similar ford trucks because the original recall did not completely resolve the problem. unfortunately, this new recall does not apply to my truck. my truck still sometimes unexpectedly downshifts to first gear even after the initial recall repair work was completed. i am concerned that this will cause me to lose control of the vehicle. please investigate whether the initial recall (19s07/19v-075) completely resolved the problem (it did not in my case) or whether additional recall work is needed as with 19s19.

Put truck in drive start traveling down the street and then the truck down shift and jerk really hard or traveling at about 45 mph and it has a hard shirt!

I am an owner of a ford f-150 platinum. the vin is (xxxxx). i received a notice of a recall with fix for my pickup last year. i took my pickup with the notice that i had received in the mail to our local ford dealership, baugh ford in clanton, alabama. i had an appointment with the local dealership on or around september 5, 2018 to resolve this issue. prior to this repair, i had not noticed or experienced any problems with the transmission. however, following the repair, i noticed the transmission slipping or for lack of a better term forgetting what gear it was in. this seemed to happen while traveling slowly as in a parking lot, then letting off of the accelerator. as soon as the accelerator was depressed there was a brief pause followed by a loud metal to metal pop and jolt as if someone had hit the rear of the vehicle. this occurred infrequently and i could not make this happen, not reproduceable. this occurred approximately six times since september last. on june 15, 2019, while traveling on interstate i-65 north just north of montgomery, alabama at highway speed, i noticed the transmission seemed to momentarily slip or go into neutral. the gear selector was still in drive position and remained in that position through out this incident. then it seemed as if the transmission started shifting gears. at some point the rear tires locked and the vehicle veered to the right and i and the truck abruptly left the interstate. i went down a steep embankment. i finally managed to stop my vehicle, without hitting any other vehicle or highway signage, near a secondary road. i then moved the gear selector from drive into the park position and then back to the drive position and drove a short distance to a safer location. i exited my vehicle and walked around and looked underneath the vehicle. additionally, there no warning lights, no error/malfunction codes. parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

It is down shifting unsafely and uncontrolled, odometer and speedometer are not functioning correctly. it downshifted suddenly to gear 1 as i was driving about 35mph on a city street. nearly lost control before i could get pulled over and stopped. it was like the rear wheels locked and i skidded without using the brakes. later it started to downshift from 6th to 5th gear at 70 mph on interstate. odometer went blank, speedometer dropped to zero mph and a wrench symbol appeared by odometer. had a code machine reading that showed a fault code for output shaft speed sensor. called ford dealership and was told that there is no recall for my vehicle by vin #. found online where ford has a recall # f-150-19s07, they say that doesn't cover my truck disspite their website indicating it covers my model, make, month and year of manufacture and plant where it was built at. i can not drive this truck safely in it's current condition and it appears to be an ongoing issue with these trucks and transmissions.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford f-150. while driving 35 mph, the vehicle downshifted into first gear on its own. additionally, the vehicle shifted uncontrollably up and down and the rpms increased. the contact called pettijohn auto center (1301 s 25th st, bethany, mo, (660) 425-2244) and midway ford truck center (7601 ne 38th st, kansas city, mo 64161, (816) 455-3000) and was informed that diagnostic testing was needed. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the contact stated that the failure was similar to nhtsa campaign number: 19v075000 (power train). the failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

My truck has downshifted out of no where twice this week. i took to dealer they said it isn't part of the ford recall but it's doing exactly what the recall is for. instead i got charged $200 for a transmission fluid change and on the way home it downshifted again by itself. fords recall number is 19s07 for this problem. luckily for me and my family no one was by us when this happened for i was on a state route going 45mph when my truck slowed down to about 10mph out of no where.

While doing 70 mph on nys thruway transmission suddendly down shifted causing rear wheels to lock up and almost being rear ended by tractor trailer.took it to dealer today and they informed me that since it was recalled in 2006 for same issue that i would now have to pay to get transmission taken out and have wiring in tranny replaced to correct the proplem. because it has branded title which it had when they reprogramed it the first time

Throttle body needs replaced after 120000 miles after car stalled into 'limp mode' going highway speeds causing a dangerous situation. truck diagnosed at baxter ford south in omaha ne and anderson ford in libcoln ne. this is a safety concern when the truck gave no warning signs and just hesitated and slowed down with little or no response to throttling. there are hundreds of cases of this with the ford f-150 2011. there have been other fords around that year that have had throttle body issues. i don't know why this is. it a recall?

While driving down the highway, truck downshifted while going approximately 70mph. i was able to put the truck in neutral so it did not do damage to the engine and so i did not lose control. a wrench light came on the dash, displayed transmission problem. then wrench went away. pulled over on the side of the highway, while in park, rpm's were sitting above 1500. turned the truck off for a few minutes, attempted to cautiously drive again, ran fine for a few minutes and did the same thing again. was able to get the truck to a ford dealership, they stated it was due to molded lead frame.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 ford f-150. while driving, the vehicle downshifted and failed to shift. in addition, the check engine indicator illuminated. the contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road. the vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. the vehicle was later taken to bruce walters ford lincoln kia (located at 302 s mayo trail, pikeville, ky 4150, (606) 444-2200) where it was diagnosed that the output shaft speed sensor failed and needed to be replaced. the contact presented the dealer with a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 19v075000 (power train). the contact was informed by the dealer that it was not a recall, but a warranty and there would be a charge for the repair. the vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was unknown.

I was driving around 50mph and experienced sudden downshifting, almost causing an accident. this vehicle was previously recalled for this exact problem, but all they did was update software rather than fixing the real issue: the molded lead frame. they are well aware of this issue and this part should be replaced on every affected vehicle before they experience this problem rather than after.

The truck on its own downshifted to 1st gear while driving on the freeway at 65-70mph. the check engine light came on. this happened 3 times. the obd error code p0720. the dealer could not find anything wrong with it and returned it without any updates to the software or replacing the speed sensor.

Out put sensor went bad truck would not shift out of 5th gear and there was no speed o meter .driving on the highway at 75mph truck downshifted into 3rd gear then went to 5th gear but wouldn't shift out of 5th gear plus theirs no recall.

Transmission shifts from 3rd gear into 1st gear without notice, causing the truck rpm's to spike and the truck comes to a sudden stop, once control is regained the transmission will not shift out 1st gear for several minutes and must be driven very slowly to prevent the engine from over revving.

After received a recall later for oss on my truck, bring to gervais ford ayer ma, on the way to the dealer, truck transmission downshift, dealer look at, after all, they said that the recall was only for software upgrade and the procedure was done before for a 3th part, but year ago the valve body was change on the same dealer and the problems are similar, they try to charge me for diagnosis, that i refused.

S19s07 / nhtsa recall 19v-075 is causing failure on transmission with no issues. i found online that my 2011 f150 was due for the 19s07 recall 19v-075 or the intermittent failure of the output speed sensor (oss). this recall has to do with the automatic transmission and "an unintended downshift into first gear can cause an abrupt wheel speed reduction, which could cause the rear tires to slide until the vehicle speed slows down." i have driven and owned the truck since brand new and it had 16 miles on it. i've never had a transmission repair or problem out of it since i've had it. however, not wanting to risk having an issue, i took it in to the local dealer for this recall, they then updated the powertrain control module with software to prevent this. i received the truck back and drove it home. the following morning, i started the engine, pulled the column shifter into reverse, and the orange light for the shifter dial on the dash disappeared. nothing happened at first and then it suddenly slammed into reverse. the shifter light never lit up until i put it back in to park and the orange shifter light reappeared. i then pulled the shifter lever down in to drive and again, the orange shifter light on the dash disappeared and the transmission did not go into gear for a moment and then suddenly slammed into drive. again, with no signal on the dash that it was even in a gear, drive, park, etc. took it back to the local ford dealer explaining the situation and a day later they called to tell me that the transmission has a faulty transmission lead frame connector, would not be covered under warranty, and would cost me close to $1,000 to be repaired. i refused the repair that was now going to cost me caused by the recall and software update. again, the truck had no issues before taking it in to bill utter ford for the transmission recall and software update.

As a result of the unwanted transmission shifting recall issue, my truck has experienced damage causing permanent transmission damage. dealer claims that ford has only authorized a computer update; their unwilling to repair the resulting issue until ford give authorization to do so. when i contacted ford the representative said ford is only authorizing computer update, despite the fact that the faulty program has caused damage to the transmission.

Recall 12c23 dealer& manufacturer state doesn't apply despite same symptoms in recall. dealer witnessed issue while doing recall 19s07 i told them ot had started about the same time i discovered the current 19s07 recall. ford said they were reporting the issue as well.
