While driving the vehicle the vehicle has very rough shifts, and not only that but while stopping or accelerating after a stop and the vehicle has been stationary for small time, the vehicle jerks with a rough shift. also while trying to drive at an accelerated speed on a highway such as 55-70 the vehicle beings to shake more so the transmission area as though the gears are not shifting properly, and as this occurs my check engine light comes on.
The normal camshaft phaser issues are occurring. loud knocking, vibrating while idling, and general rattling from the motor when the truck isn't above 1000 rpm's. while this may not directly cause accidents, in intense rattling and knocking can cause other issues to arise which in turn can cause major safety concerns for the nhtsa. if ford doesn't decide to take on this issue and repair it, then it can be expected that every 3 valve ford motor made since 2005 will eventually succumb to these major issues. as we all know ford has had issues designing motors in the past, primarily the 6.0, 6.4 and 5.4 motor that i currently own, but it is time for ford to step up and handle the mechanical problems that their designers negligence caused. it is not too much to ask that an auto manufacturer stands by their product and repairs or replaces the faulty part when the time comes. additionally in the part you wherein you asked for the date of the incident, i will put the most recent occurrence but please note that this issue is reoccurring and you should expect knocking and vibration every time you drive.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford f-150. while driving at a low speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. after researching the internet, the contact read that the spark plug blew out of the cylinder head due to a lack of thread in the cylinder to hold the spark plug under pressure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. freedom ford lincoln inc (151 woodland dr sw, wise, va 24293, (866) 680-5107) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 170,000.
On my truck the passenger side exhaust manifold has rusted and the rear bolts have rusted off. this has caused the manifold to leak right at the exhaust port. this leak fills the cab of the vehicle with exhaust fumes. it is also leaking pre-catalyst exhaust. the fuels in the cab are a serious safety issue and well as an emissions issue. research on the internet shows this is a very common problem on ford trucks of this era. talking to ford about this they offer a very small discount on the service if i have it done at the dealer. i have had trucks for years and never had a problem like this before. my truck is a 2010 ford f150 with 106,000 miles on it.
While driving on the highway the engine shut off. upon inspection, fuse #27 burned out instead of blowing. this fuse controls the fuel pump, and when it burned up the fuel pump lost power at highway speed. upon research it is a very common problem with the 2009-2014 year models and ford issued a tsb but not a recall. i hadn't known about this when purchasing the truck used, and it is a very serious safety issue.
My 2010 4.6 2wd shuts down while driving at 40mph on the street. i've changed so many things and now just ordered thottle body yo see if it helps. no one can diagnose this problem because no check engine light. i lose power steering and all power to the vehicle. this needs to be recalled by ford because it is very dangerous and almost caused me to have accidents with my kids inside. Takata recall. when pulling out into traffic on a very busy highway as the on coming traffic speed limit is 50mph, i'm pulling out on the highway with a safe distance between cars on this busy road as i accelerated my 2010 f150 fx4 super crew cab "with my family in the truck i might add" the truck just down shifts and it slams me and my family forward "like i hit a tree going 30mph" the truck shuts off completely and a symbol of a wrench pops up on the dashboard. with no power steering, no power breaks, no way to safely move the truck off the road at this point due to the traffic i was trying to avoid was passing me going at least 50mph almost getting rear ended by several cars and semi trucks, i push the flashers on and pray that nothing bad happens and coast until the truck finally comes to a stop after about 30-45 seconds. i get out of the truck after the group of vehicles pass by and inspected to see if the engine or transmission was blown up or leaking fluid and nothing at this point so i'm stressed out because my family and i could have very well died and there is no proof of this when i restarted the truck no symbols was present when inspected by a mechanic. i keep telling the mechanic that it has no power any more, it sooooo sluggish i can't even drive the truck much anymore, only on short trips to the store. we had to cancel or vacation and cancel the purchase of a camper for our vacation. i'm sorry but if ford was a real symbol of safety and security of its owners this would have never happened in the first place. this needs to be fixed asap!!!

11/29/18 will be the 6th time my engine shut off when coming to a stop and making a turn. other 5 incidents were about 3 years ago. each occasion, slowing down to a stop, engine shuts off while making a turn, and i put it in neutral while pressing brakes, starts up, and i keep going down the road. 122k miles, love the truck but this has me very concerned for my family riding in the truck. i looked up any recalls but did not find anything regarding this. f-150 forums have the exact same incidents and when taking to ford dealership, they cannot find anything wrong. please let me know my options of getting ford to do something.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford f-150. the contact stated that the engine failed to start and the vehicle stalled numerous times. the contact mentioned that the brake warning indicator illuminated when the failure occurred. on one occasion, the vehicle stalled while driving 55 mph. the contact pulled over onto the shoulder of the road, restarted the engine, and regained normal function of the vehicle. however, the engine failure persisted and the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. a diagnostic test was performed, but a failure code could not be located. an independent mechanic researched the failure and stated that the engine fuse needed to be replaced. the engine fuse was replaced, but the failure was not corrected. the vehicle continued to fail to start and stalled when driving. the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 118,000.
When slowing down (at an intersection for example) to make a turn the vehicle dies and makes it very, very difficult to turn because the power steering does not work. i have almost gotten into two accidents because of not being able to stay in my lane during the turn. i have never seen a truck so difficult to turn when the engine is not running. additionally, the truck will not start after fueling. i had the truck towed the first time it happened and the ford dealer (madison county ford in richmond, ky) said it was a transmission problem. the first time i put fuel in the truck, it would not start. it sat a couple of days and started. the engine was stopping just as it did before. took it back to the same ford dealer and they said they had diagnosed the problem properly. i spend $2,216 on what they said the problem was and it was still doing the same thing. the paramount issue is when the truck dies while driving and it can't be steered properly.
While driving down the road engine shut off. when slowing down to make a turn, engine will shut off. and i rolled across intersection, lost brakes and steering. in motion most of the time. on city streets.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford f-150. while stationary, the vehicle would not start when prompted. in addition, the vehicle stalled on more than one occasion. bob sight ford in lee's summit, missouri was made aware of the failure and requested that the vehicle be brought in for diagnostic testing. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall on the vehicle. the contact cited tsb number: 15-0137 as a potential guide for repair of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 130,000. *tt

Run out of gas gas guage reading is 50 mile to go all when engen get hot making kocking nosie
I have not had any problems with the truck until now. lately i t's not been cranking and the check engine light on. sometimes it cranks fine and sometime it doesn't. i took it to auto zone and they got a communications code. i've heard a lot of complaints on this issue. i've also been told that the vehicle will shut down on you while driving.
My 2010 f150 started getting carbon monoxide coming through the cabin heating system. this was caused by the exhaust manifold and bolts breaking due to rusting out and allowing carbon monoxide to seep into the engine compartment and into the cabin. i as the driver became ill for 2 days as i was not aware that the poison was coming into the cabin at first. i had a 70 mile highway drive to get home. the vehicle has had severe rusting throughout the drive train starting at 3 years old. ford has never accepted any responsibility for this issue. i want to be clear on this as in hopes of not having this happen to anyone else. i feel i could have died from this poisoning. i have never had a vehicle do this, especially one as new as this vehicle.
Engine cranks but does not start one morning. found fried fuel pump fuse was the issue. not a blown fuse. a fried fuse. blackened and charred.
My high school daughter was driving our 2010 f150 on the way to school today and it failed in the left turn lane at a busy intersection, and it would crank but not start. people were honking their horns and my daughter missed classes. she could have been re-end and injured for the rest of her life. i had the vehicle towed to a garage and they said it was a known issue related to a fuse/fuse box wire and they are looking for a fusebox bypass kit that ford has put together to fix this problem. this is a known issue that several people have reported. https://ca.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-c21953_ds740770. this is a safety issue! she could have been rear-ended and injured for the rest of her life! repair cost to install ford's bypass kit was $360. ford knows about this and did not notify us to my knowledge.

Manifold bolts rusting off on 4.6l 3v engine. this causes exhaust leak under hood and excessive heat to the other parts near the engine. because smell is apparent at idle.
About april 2017 i noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine area of my truck. i also noticed hesitation when i accelerate and my fuel economy has dropped. there is a distinct jerking sensation when driving. my concern is that the vehicle does not want to accelerate in certain gears and i feel this is a safety concern. my truck has the ford 5.4l v8 engine and upon my own research, this engine is notorious for the cam phaser going bad, along with other related issues.
Engine stalls for no reason.

When applying sync update caused several failure codes to transmission module and transmission servo. sync module no longer works after applying software update and must be replaced. all transmission and engine codes were cleared. i believe the sync module update caused failure codes and destroyed sync module. ford dealership cannot explain
While driving (in motion) the engine randomly shuts down causing you to lose both steering and braking power. this happens with no warning and the vehicle is hard to control. speed does not seem to be a factor but it quits while turning the vehicle either left or right. *tr
Transmission won't down shift ,or downshifts when not suppose to, when starting out or slowing down there is severe shuttering from the drivetrain.
Exhaust manifold warping. 2010 ford f150 fx4 5.4l. right side manifold warped at 95,000 miles and left side manifold warped at 135,000 miles. right side replaced for $1,500. have not done the left side yet. too expensive. this is a known defect with this model. should be warranty work.

Had just completed an oil change in novato, ca at the oil changers. when driving home on the freeway at approximately 65mph the engine lost all power. (stepping on the accelerator had no response and the check engine light came on) i coasted the vehicle onto the shoulder of the highway and came to a complete stop, turning off the engine. checked the oil plug was still in the oil drain pan and everything looked ok. the vehicle started back up without issue and has been running fine since.
Fix my 2010 ford f-150 fx4 engine and tranny problems. i was always a chevy guy, bought this truck and it is a big pile of [xxx] !!!!! recall it, read the forums, all who own these are sick of the god[xxx] problems !!!!! never again. stand up to your product. do something about it. your engineers are pathetic. good by, from one pissed off owner information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Spark plug blew out of number 2 cylinder with no warning.
2010 ford f150 with just over 60,000 miles. while driving, the vehicle fails and the engine shuts down entirely. this happens intermittently when the truck comes to a stop, but has also happened while driving casually at approximately 45 mph on city streets. this has happened multiple times. personal investigation has led to finding numerous reports online of the same or worse problems with this model/year of ford truck. research has lead to show that there seems to be a factory issue with the fuel/air system on the vehicle. numerous other reports online of the truck failing while driving and even causing accidents in some instances. this is a very serious safety issue as it endangers the lives of those in this vehicle as well as others on the roadway. a recall needs to be implemented immediately by the manufacturer to rectify this wrongdoing.
Bought new in april 2010, ford xlt150. now at 73k mi. last two weeks. could not start twice after filling up. had to keep flooring vehicle to crank over.hi performance battery is two mths old. died at red light three times. died at yield sign twice.died at bank atm once. lost steering control when engine died coming out of yield sign. luckily hit no one.took it to ford dealership, asked about recall notice or if others had similar problems. negative response on both. told them thousands of same problem posted on internet. they told me many people just post stuff. many posters said ford dealers computers showed no problem when truck is hooked up.taking it to an independent mechanic shop. too dangerous to keep driving. will injure someone and myself,or worse. will be notifying ford.
While slowing to approximatly 20 mph to make a left turn at a stop light the engine died and all braking and power steering was lost. while still partially bloking the intersection i placed the transsmision in park and restarted the engine. no engine fault codes were displayed. i drove to the local dealer immediately after the incident. dealer stated that if no fault light was present they could not determine the cause. so far this has only happened one time.
2010 ford f150 stalls when going slow, and turning left. the oil light came on and i lost all power i had to put in park and restart. took about 5 tries for the truck to restart. it did the same thing again about five minutes later while making another left turn. also, died when i was sitting at a light preparing to turn right.
4th time in less than a year my power steering hose has blown off when i start the truck when the temp is below 0 degrees f. it was double clamped and been repaired by professionals multiple times. this should be recalled and fixed.
The truck misses at an idle and we also had to have the drive shaft replaced.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford f-150. while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 82,719. the vin was not provided.
The truck will just stall with no warning and no engine error codes. i was going from a stop to make a left hand turn and stalled in middle of 4 lane highway. i had to put the engine in park and start the engine in order to get out of the highway. my nephew was driving the truck a week prior and it stalled at a stop light and proceeded to role down a hill. he had to put the truck in park and restart the engine. it does not produce any engine error codes. the truck will be running just fine then the engine will just quit. researching online for ford 5.4l f150 engine stalls it appears other people are experiencing similar issues. i took it the other day and it was stated that they couldn't duplicate the problem, then they said it could be a o2 sensor. my experience with faulty o2 sensors is usually rough idle and check engine light which my truck does not have. i understand it maybe a hard problem to solve but it appears that this could be a big safety problem due to loss of power.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 ford f-150. the contact stated that when the ignition was turned to the on position, there was an abnormal noise coming from the front of the vehicle. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cam shaft was failing and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 59,000. the vin was unavailable.
Engine stalls out while driving. my truck stalled out on me 3 times on 10/21/15, and has happened a few times before but always on separate occasions. on the 21st, i was driving about 5-10 mph in a shopping center parking lot when my truck stalled for the first time that day. about 15-20 minutes later, my truck stalled two more times, once at about the same speed as before and once while i was switching lanes at about 40 mph. this also mean i had no power steering and almost got into 2 accidents because of the problem. after the problem occurs, an oil funnel light comes on and then i shift my truck manually into neutral and turn the key and my truck fires right back up without hesitation. i drove my truck straight to the dealership where i let them test and drive it for 2 days and they could not recreate the problem, the truck didn't throw any codes either and the dealership says its normal when the engine stalls for the oil funnel light to come on. i'm at a loss for what could be wrong with my truck and as to why this is happening. if my truck does this to me while driving on the freeway it could result in a huge accident.
