We have classified the 10 complaints from 2005 Ford F-150 about STRUCTURE into the following categories.
Dt*: the contact stated the tailgate detached from the vehicle and was hanging by the cables. this occurred while driving over a bump at 10 mph, hauling a 300 pound couch. the dealership and manufacturer determined this was not a manufacturer's defect though they admitted that it was not the contact's fault. the contact felt that the tailgate was built extremely light, and it was spring loaded. felt that the dealer should take responsibility and repair the vehicle. *ak
The coil packs and plugs have been changed on different times and the vehicle still has the same problems. ford has to find a better solution to fix these ongoing issues so the customer does not have to keep paying all this money for the same problems over and over again. engine lost power on several occasions and shakes when idling. paint on front of vehicle started peeling off. all service work has been conducted a t a ford dealership since the vehicle was purchased except for today with (2) more coil packs had to be installed at a local garage. this is apparently a big problem and something has to be done about it or ford will find good customers going to other vehicle brands. *tr
Purchased a 2005 f-150 4x4 ford pick-up truck and immediately felt a strong vibration throughout the truck. took it back to three different dealerships each one claiming they fix it. the vibration still exists and now the steering wheel is vibrating. i believe this truck is unsafe. i will continue to exhaust all avenues to repair or replace this truck. *nm
Ford f-150 developed severe chassis shudder at 60 mph on freeway. exited freeway and shudder did not continue when travel resumed. *nm
My paint job was defective and thin, my windshield was not sealed properly, there are ticking noises from under the dashboard, the front end is too heavy for the added weight to the truck, the transmission stalls the truck when it rolls backwards in drive, the truck shakes at high speeds and has excessive tire wear, which is the only thing that ford has all but admitted to by extending the excessive tire wear/ride harshness warranty from 1yr/12,000 miles to 3yrs/36,000 miles. have you ever heard of a car company giving away something unless there was a serious problem with this vehicle. *nm
Dt: the contact stated the front and rear third do not always close completely. this sometimes allowed water to leak into the vehicle when it rained or when it was washed. there was no indicator letting the contact know the door did not close properly. the dealer was not contacted. *ak
Dt: the contact stated water leaked into the inside of the truck cab. the vehicle has been to the dealer once for inspection. no cause was discovered. the wiring that under the floor mat on the passenger side was under water and froze into ice. when the manufacturer was contacted they offered an extended warranty to the contact. no repairs have been made. *ak
