I have been changing out my regulators for my f-150 5.4 liter xlt 2005 since 2008. total amount of times is up to three and today 08-16-2010 my driver side window is now stuck in the down position. coming home from work driving the speed limit on the highway today i was rolling down my window and then heard a crack and then it wouldn't roll back up. well i knew what the sound ment because i have had to change all the other three windows in my truck and heard the same noise when it happened to them. total amount of money spent on just the first three window regulators and labor $1,062.54, that's not counting what i'm about to spend the forth time on my drivers side window. i was told and on the receipts it has replaced with new parts, did not see the old parts that were taken out though. this is getting old, is there anybody out there that can stop this. i know that i'm not the only one that this is effecting. *tr
I had a sudden failure of the power brakes on my '05 ford f-150 due to a vacuum valve that is located on the back side of the motor midway down of the motor on the back side between motor and firewall. this was not a warranty item due to my truck having 50,000 miles on it. the remedy is to get the 30$ valve and remove the top half of the motor just to get to the vacuum valve, due to the labor intensiveness of the job labor is $400. luckily i did not have an accident but you will only have manual brakes when this vacuum line comes off in addition to a rough running truck. *cn
Purchased truck new. had highway speed shudders and vibration. dealer said this is a common problem and it would go away by its self. on the third visit, they said that they fixed it and we left. immediately, we turned around because the problem was not fixed. we found that the parking brake was dragging and that what was causing the shuttering and vibration. they fixed the problem and we've not had anymore issues with this until recently. we had the rear differential replaced for the slipping problem and now the parking brakes are dragging again. this is not safe and in my opinion can cause a fire. *tr
Dt*: the contact stated the vehicle's factory key was defective and does not start the vehicle. the vehicle included 3 keys; 2 good and 1 defective. any time a good key was used to lock the door, the defective key does not work at all when attempting to start the vehicle. the defective key worked if it used to lock the door before starting up. the vehicle was taken to a dealer, who programmed another key, but the problem persisted. the vehicle was brought back to the dealer who expressed that another key could not be reprogrammed because of the way the vehicle was manufactured. the manufacturer was contacted three times and suggested that the vehicle be taken to another dealer. the other dealer could not duplicate the problem, and offered no resolution.
2005 ford f150 6-disk cd/mp3 player no longer accepts cd's. i get error message reporting bad disc and its ejected. *jb
Dt: consumer complained that jack that came with vehicle does not extend high enough so that he can change a flat. the flat tire will come off, but the replacement tire that is inflated will not go on with the jack fully extended. consumer had a flat on vehicle at on august 4, 2005 around 1:00 am. consumer had to call for help. he was stranded due to improper jack. he was unable to change the tire. tow truck driver t came to the scene used his jack to lift vehicle, and tow truck drivers jack was also too short. he had to use a 4x4 piece of wood under jack to change flat. consumer believed that jack was probably made for a 15 inch tire. this vehicle had 17 inch tires. when changing the flat with the jack supplied with vehicle it fell off of the jack.*ak updated 1/4/2006 - *nm
I am a inspector of final assembly at the milan visteon plant in milan, mi responsible for the final inspection of ford f-150 fuel tanks. these tanks are currently involved in a safety recall due to process failures in the themoforming stages. i have been ordered by my supervisors to circumvent quality checklists and have been told to place missed identification stickers on tanks as well as quality check verification marks directly on the tanks regardless of my direct knowledge of theses quality steps happening in order to meet production goals.*ak
