I want to add my name to the ranks of ford f150 owners who had the nightmarish experience of simply needing spark plugs changed. unaware that there was a problem with this sparkplug design, i asked my mechanic to do a simple tune up. two sparkplugs broke and he is still researching how to proceed without incurring the most expense. tells us about inexpensive recall items, is it because this is expensive that they have not issued recall on this design flaw? *tt

2004 ford f150. i have already filed a complaint. the consumer stated when he arrived at the dealer, to have the recall performed, the dealer informed him, there were no parts available. updated ivoq 06/30/11 *tr

Door windows do not operate up or down when pressing rocker switch - 2nd time for repair of problem. *tr

Door window will not operate up or down. *tr

2004 ford f150 bought new. rear window (over back seat) motor/regulator broken over a year ago, fortunately with window closed. ford says that it will cost close to $500 to replace motor. yesterday, 5/21/2011, right rear window regulator broke. window will not stay up. from what i see, this has happened to hundreds if not thousands of people yet ford will not address it as a recall item. can't the nhtsa put pressure on ford or the government to force ford to fix these when they break? it is definitely a safety issue! ford bought defective window motors/regulators and are leaving their customers to contend with them alone. why can't they admit to a problem? *tr

2004 ford f150 supercrew. for the 5th time one of the windows has dropped into the door due to the regulator malfunctioning. the first 3 times were covered by the extended warranty i purchased. however, this will be the second one i will have to pay for. each time, all ford does is replace the regulator and tell me i must have gotten a bad one. this is 5 windows in 5 years. *tr

2004 f150 3 window regulators have failed. one was repaired by ford7/09 two have failed in the last week the window just drops down in the door, it can not have failed from wear and tear because the windows are never used. *tr

3 window motors in my 2004 ford f150 crew cab were defective. probably 4 only 21,009 miles. *tr

Window regulators keep breaking on my 04 ford f-150. third window to fall down, this one during a snow storm. *ln

Ford f150 window regulator failure. *tr

Ford f150 crew cab. at 45,000 miles the f/drivers side window regulator failed. replaced under warranty. at 76,000 miles f/passenger side window regulator failed. replaced out of warranty. at 95,000 miles r/passenger window regulator has failed. has not been to the dealer for the latest failure. i do not know what the cost will be or when the r/ drivers side will fail. neither of the rear windows have been used more than 50 times during my ownership of the vehicle, which i bought new. it seems to me that from what i have read from others and my own problems that there is a defect that ford should be responsible for. it appears they are unwilling to face up to their responsibility. *tr

3 power window regulators replaced on my f-150 super cab ford lariat truck...driving down the road on 3 separate occasions and wham the window drops down in the door. happened in 2007, 2009, 2010. $350 each time to get fixed. i'm sure a major thorough investigation regarding the window regulator issue with ford would turn up 1000's upon 1000's of incidents and replacements. this is an obvious problem. while i blame ford corp, i have a problem with the dealer saying it's not a ford problem and that ford has to use the company in mexico they use to replace the windows per the dept of transportation. *tr

My window regulator gave out for the 3rd time this year i cant afford to pay $200+ dollars to replace a part that wont be sold with out motor so that they can charge more on my 2004 ford f150 supercrew..... *tr

I have 2004 ford f150 supercrew with approximately 73,000 miles. three windows have failed due to broken plastic parts associated with the window regulator. *tr

1. driving on major freeway in my 2004 ford f150 when i here a pop and turn around and notice my back window missing, 2 weeks later i hear the same pop and notice my front side passenger window was sliding down. 1 month after that im riding alone and my driver side passenger window would not work on command. now im riding in my car with 3 windows not working. i have paper holding my windows up as i called ford and was told it would cost me 420 per window to repair not including tax. i also was told to expect my 4th window to go out as well. *tr

Change window regulator 2004 f150 lariat driver side rear window. *tr

I have a 2004 ford f150 super crew and have had 3 window regulator go out 2 of them less then a month apart and one of them happened on the highway and im not the only one there are a lot of f150 owner that this has happened to the dealer is making a fortune off of there defective parts charging up to 400 plus part to fix a problem that should be concerned a safety issue because of the loud noise it makes when the window out of no ware fall in to the door. *tr

Two broken window regulators within approximately two weeks. i attempted to roll down windows and i heard a noise and window just dropped down into the door. no broken glass, but very uncomfortable with young kids and you're away from home in cold weather.

Shaft assembly part #8l32-3b676-b on ford f-150 needed to be replaced. mechanic told me there was a technical service bulletin (tsb) . steering wheel would stick badly when making turns causing two near accidents. *tr

Pro comp tires side walls are falling apart while driving, this is my second replacement tire out five, don't trust them anymore to drive safely down road. i'll keep them for testing purposes. *tr

I have a 2004 ford f150 truck with only about 60,000 miles on it. my passenger window just slid down as i was driving! did not push any buttons! of course i then tried to roll the window up but it wouldn't work. now my window is left wide open while i have to wait to get it fixed! i had it checked out and its the regulator that needs replaced. i've already had to replace my rear passenger side regulator but i didn't realize then that it was a defect in the part! i'm still trying to get it fixed. *tr

Both rear windows in my 2004 ford f150 broke at the same time and the windows dropped to the floor. i have had these replaced twice already and they keep breaking. i was just sting at a light then heard something like a rock hit the side of the truck then the window just dropped it was the cables that hold the windows up snapping. i have three very young children and live where there are extreme temps. i cannot have my young children exposed to these kind of environments. ford is the only place to get these parts because they know there is a problem with them. *tr

2004 ford f150 supercrew window regulator failure. my truck has sat through 2 years of deployments, for me to only return and in a matter of 3 years to have all 4 window regulators fail in my truck. ford should do a recall on this problem. the mechanics at the dealers are fully aware of this issue and the frequency of which it happens. $440.00 is too much per incident. ford needs to do something about this issue. *tr ~russell murzyn

2004 f150 supercrew lariat drivers side rear window dropped down ,cable failure . this happened while driving with people in the vehicle . *tr

Window registers in 3 out of 4 windows have failed on 2004 f150 ford truck with only 28,500 miles on vehicle. *tr

We purchased our 2004 f150 in sept/oct of '04. shortly after our mileage warranty expired (36,000) miles our window assembly regulator broke and we had to pay over $400 for it to be repaired. a short time later our second window assembly regulator broke and they only asked us to pay 20% of the repair bill equaling $55. 9 months later our third window regulator assembly broke. when these windows regulators break it is during random times and while driving. no one is rolling the windows down they just all of a sudden fall down. we were driving on the freeway at 65 mph and i had my 12 month old daughter sitting next to the window that broke and she had her hand on the door next to the window. she only had a small red mark on her finger however she was crying hysterically because it scared her. while looking online i have found thousands of other complaints about the window regulators breaking on these trucks. when we called to get the truck repaired the had the part in stock and within us making a decision of when to bring the truck in an hour and a half later the part was already used. the repair tech said that it is their most common problem. i feel that this is a major safety issue. if my daughters hand had been any closer it would have been severely pinched. what if the window were to shatter while going down on the freeway at those speeds? ford is unwilling to repair our fourth window and we fear it is just a matter of time before it breaks as well. *tr

My drivers side window just fell open while driving and would not go back up. after investigating the power window unit had broken. 7 days later the same thing happened to the rear passenger window. the dealer told me this is common and is a defect but ford refuses to recall them. the dealer said it will most likely happen to your other 2 windows as well! $400 each to repair. *tr

Driver side window fell while driving. *tr

My 2004 f-150 electric windows keep failing. they fall into the door while i am driving and it happens with no notice and at highway speeds. when it happens it is quite distracting because of sudden there is a loud noise and a huge force of air coming into the cabin. when it first happened i thought someone had fired a weapon at my truck. the first time it happened the dealer fixed the problem under warranty but would not fix the other windows even though they admitted the problem was common with my type of vehicle. it happened again just after warranty expired and the dealer split the cost with me. the third time it happened i was on my own. it is a several hundred dollar repair. the problem appears to be a simple piece of plastic with a pulley that allows a cable to wind around a motor shaft. although the cause is simple, the repair is not and the entire door must be taken apart. the biggest problem is that the failure will scare the driver and significantly take your mind off the road. if a child is sitting next to the window, the event could even have more several consequences. ford apparently knows of the problem based of ford mechanic comments about the issue being common to the 2004 f-150 and the number of repair kits they go through. below the date is the most recent occurrence. *tr

I think ford should do a recall on the window regulators. mine in particular is broken in all four door. it is a safety hazard. the latest one made a loud bang and got my attention and almost distracted me. and its not like its only happened to me. almost every f150 owner is suffering just like i am. *tr

Sitting at a stoplight, hear a loud pop in drivers side door, drivers side window falls down into the door. took truck to the dealership and regulator assembly has failed - $450 for parts/labor. this has happened to numerous ford f150 owners and i'm afraid it will happen to my remaining windows. dangerous to have windows fail and collapse into your door at any moment - poorly engineered by ford - needs to be recalled. *tr

The cars' a/c turns off by itself it happens randomly and its been happening ever since i bought the car. which was in november 2004. *tr

I have a 2004 ford f150. i have had to repair all four of the power windows. the windows would just slide down into the door frame. all four times the ford dealer had to replace the power window regulator. now i see from the internet i am not alone. could you please look into this issue and maybe make ford recall the truck and fix this issue and reimburse people like me who had to pay to fix the windows. i am sure this will happen again. *tr

1) unknown events leading to failure, normal driving, events happened when i first turned on vehicle and during backing up .2) the engine raced out of control and lurched until ignition key was removed (it grabs the gas pedal from the driver like cruise control does) if someone or something is in vehicle's path it or they will be crashed into. then the vehicle and 8 cylinder runs like its on 4 cyl and the air conditioner doesn't work. 3) taken to ford dealer coastal ford in mobile al,they rebooted computer but would not replace computer board, they said just bring it back for reboot if it happens again, diagnostic did not reveal reason for racing engine they were not concerned that if the events happened again an accident could not be prevented or the truck being destroyed which means it could not be taken back for reboot or how to prevent this event .i wanted them to replace the supposedly defective computer board (in my opinion that's the problem) old part still in vehicle .no damages yet but since i professionally bass fish, i could be run over, the truck might race into the water,or someone else and their equipment could be run over and if backing into the garage with a boat the house and boat could be damaged or if the boat trailer has to be dealt with the person behind the truck could be run over. 2004 f150 extended cab v8 engine truck is the vehicle. 6 events over the last 4 months (it just came out of some of its warranties, ford dealer said the computer was warranted for 8 more years)*jb

I have a ford regency f-150 with a factory 6 inch lift done by regency. when the lift was done the steering linkage is in contact with the brake line so when the steering wheel is turned a hole was worn in the brake line causing a loss of brake pressure. i talked to regency and rick said it was the second he had heard of. mine is being fixed now but anyone else who owns one of these vehicles is at risk of an accident. i am reporting this in the hopes no one is hurt unnecessarily. *nm

The spare tire rack holds the tire tightly to the frame has caused the sidewall of the spare tire to be damaged. *jb

I had left my car for about five minutes. when i returned the tire was flat, and i noticed a slit in the sidewall. later i filled the tire with air. the visible slit did not leak air, but another smaller crack did. there was no other damage to the tire. *jb

The brake pedal in our 04 f150 was not depressed and our 5 year-old hit the shift and the truck went into reverse at a high speed. the truck is supposed to be equipped with a brake-shift interlocking feature that did not work. the truck is severely damaged, there was property damage, i called ford and they are not accepting any responsibility for this and said that our insurance paid 900. so they will not fix the problem or repair the damaged vehicle.

Since 3000k miles my truck would shimmy/shake violently to the point i would have to pull off the road. after multiple times to dealeship problem still there. i noticed my emergency brake light stayed on once after pulling release. had to reapply and pull again and did release. a week later, e brake would not release after multiple attempts. after putting in gear, finally did release. after backing out of driveway, as i started to drive truck was shaking badly. i deducted e-brake sticking causing shaking. brought to dealer- found stuck e-brake. replaced adaptor, rotor asy-brake, cable asy-parking brake. picked up truck-tried e-brake and went to floor, did not hold truck when in gear. ebrake not working again after just being replaced.

Husband driving down interstate ans sees flames comming up behind him between the cab abd the bed. pulled over and had fire department put out flames. for dealer stated that "something clogged the breather tube which ignited the fire" twin toddlers were strapped into the carseats in the back of the cab..

While turning into a parking lot the vehicle's ford hitch broke on both sides. *nm the trailer was taken to a welding shop were they said there wasn't any penetration on the weld, which was welded part way and to take the old receiver to the dealership. the consumer then took the receiver to the dealership, where they claimed the trailer which weight is 2500 lbs was too big, had caused the failure. 2500 lbs, is less then what ford guarantee there trucks will pull. jeannette gomes of hartford ins. is currently in possession of the receiver that failed.*nm *sb

All 4 windows have stopped working on my 2004 ford f-150 truck also my rear slider is now failing and i have another window out and 2 more failing ! gezzzzz seriously expensive and frustrating ! i also have a problem with my 6 cd changer that came stock on my truck i have never been able to use it ! *tr
